We attended a party and each of us ordered our own meal so we were able to enjoy a variety of dishes. I ordered the Caesar salad and the sesame chicken lettuce wraps then finished with an affogato. The salad was delicious although quite large. I really loved the chicken lettuce wraps cooked in such a delicious sauce. SO good. The affogatto was a disappointment though as there was waaay too much ice cream and it was served without a spoon. Weird. The espresso was very good as was the ice cream, just work on proportions, please. Absolutely wonderful wait staff. One other complaint, the tables on the patio are bolted to the floor so our entire group couldn't sit together.
This was my first visit to Doc B's and I enjoyed my dining experience. The restaurant is beautiful with great decor. Our server was great and very helpful with the menu. I originally came for the chicken caesar wrap, but they only served it during lunch hours. The oven roasted wings are a must try. They were flavorful and crispy. I was a little disappointed in the fries because they were a little on the soft side. I wasn't sure if they were supposed to come that way or if it was a mistake. I do plan on coming back and trying more from the menu.
I kept forgetting that I was in a restaurant inside a mall. Doc B's is a relaxing, quiet, classy oasis. Enter through the mall side, and it'll take you straight to the bar area. But if you enter from the parking lot, you'll see the host stand, where you can request a table. Sometimes, a lady just needs a cold Caesar salad, some salty fries and a crisp glass of Riesling. I was in the mood for the magical trifecta, and I thought Doc B's would be a good place to meet that need. I was right! The Caesar salad at Doc B's is really good. There is a lot of finely grated parmesan on top like there should be. But if I had to nitpick (and you know I have to), I would request that the croutons were just a little smaller. They're made from brioche, though, and they were very tasty. The fries are good, and paired well with the dry Riesling. The fries come served with ketchup and a honey mustard dipping sauce. I was living deliciously the day I visited Doc B's, so along with my little hot-mom dinner, I also got the burrata & heirloom tomatoes, which comes with candied pecans and basil sprinkled on top. The tomatoes were presented on the plate in chunks, which was nice because I had to stab them with a fork and cut into them with a knife. A little tomato, a little burrata, a little candied nut all on my fork in one bite was amazing. My server was great and friendly and unobtrusive. There was some sort of sport playing on the TVs at the bar. The music was good but low. Overall, this is a nice place to have an intimate meal, by yourself or with others.
My friends and I decided to check this place out, and our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. Samantha, our server, was able to answer all of our questions and make some really good recommendations for our table. It was happy hour, so I ordered a glass of the Prosecco. We started with the lettuce wraps and the guacamole and both were very large servings and delicious. I ordered the wok bowl with the sweet and spicy Thai sauce and chicken and sticky brown rice. A good portion and filling! Everyone wanted to get dessert so I opted for the chocolate cake which was huge and I took some home. There were a lot of things I wanted to try on the menu so I will have to make another visit.
We decided to eat here for a belated father's day lunch. We'd been curious about this place and got a reservation here. I'm glad we had a reservation as I was surprised at how busy the were for a Monday lunch. Now I know why. We got a seat on the patio which was enclosed since it was a bit chilly and cloudy. Our server came over to welcome us and take our drink order. I had a slightly spicy mezcalita. It was tasty and refreshing and not really too spicy. For my meal I chose a carnitas sandwich with a side of crispy jalapeño potatoes. The sandwich tasted every bit as good as it was pretty. And those potatoes-oh my yummy. The serving was plentiful and delicious. Our server Sam did a great job of waiting on us and we also had a nice visit with the general manager John. Can't wait to go back and try their chicken parm.
Celebrating a friends birthday, I got to try Doc B's for the first time and I was impressed with the service and food! Our waiter was actually the GM which probably explains the excellent service but we were seated immediately with our party of 6 and were regularly checked on throughout the night. The chicken parm with so good! I loved the portion size and everything was very well seasoned. The restaurant also had a nice vibe to it, with the dim lights and decor. Perfect date night spot or place to celebrate any occasion. I would come back!
I want sure what I was expecting when I first got to Doc B's, particularly because of it being in The Fashion Mall & because I'd never heard anyone say they'd been before. But we had a pretty good experience! We got the guacamole/chips & chicken wings as appetizers and they were really good! My wife RAVED about how good her Shrimp bowl was. My mom was with us and she also got a bowl with chicken and the noodles and she loved it also. My aunt got the Grilled Chicken salad and cleaned her plate. I settled on the "number six" sandwich with the jalapeño potatoes and was surprised that the sandwich was spicier than the potatoes! But over everything was pretty good! Would probably go back and try some more things. Really relaxed ambience and wide menu which is really what I wasn't expecting! Overall I think what really made our night the best was our waitress who was exceptional and taking care of us, answering questions & keeping our drinks full!
Our group of 8 really enjoyed our visit! We made a reservation for a Wednesday evening and was seated immediately. I recommend entering on the outside of the restaurant instead of through the mall! For appetizers we had the guacamole & sweet potato chips and the wings. Both were very good! I loved the chimichurri on the wings. We had a variety of entrees with the stand outs being the bowls! We had some with noodles, rice, chicken, shrimp - you name it. It was all good and I would go back just for the bowls again! The jalapeño potatoes were so interesting as they weren't spicy but still tasty! There are a lot of options on the menu so we will be back to try more!

The best thing I had was the oven roasted WINGS!!! It's definitely not your average wing order. The flavors are elevated with the chimichurri and reggiano garnish! Definitely get them. The NOIR tea was good that I ordered a box when I got home. I didn't like the texture of the tortilla soup but the flavors are there. The wrap was good as well. It was a nice vibe and it's conveniently located by the mall. This will definitely be my neighborhood spot. It's a very chill vibe and the food is priced reasonably. FYI: we went during happy hour but food isn't included? They need to add a few items to pair with drinks. A happy hour with no food didn't make sense to me but we still enjoyed our experience, attention to detail, drinks and dinner. Check this place out.
You heard it here first: Doc B's has the best chicken sandwich in Indianapolis. Just look at that cross section! The crispy chicken sandwich lives up to its name- it's crispy, it's flavorful, and the slaw adds the perfect creamy crunch. We had a very attentive waitress who made our outing special for a large group- we always had fresh drinks and check in's. Doc B's interior is a great spot for a work lunch or elevated lunch with soft lighting and good atmosphere.
Food and Drink: I had the short rib and my friend had the chicken kabobs. Both were delicious! The short rib was tender and the smashed potatoes were a nice touch but I would have loved mashed instead. The chicken kabobs were just as awesome and the waiter said it was a regular hit with customers. The drinks were OKAY. I personally think they were overpriced for the taste. We had the Whiskey Smash and a Lemon drop. I would recommend just getting the sweet tea or a soda. Customer Service: Kyle was very attentive!! Gave solid recommendations on the food and he was outgoing and patient for my first time here. Would definitely look for him again when I come back! Parking and accessibility: It's the Keystone area...if you know you know. It was beyond busy for a Friday night...which is normal so parking was hard to find. Ambiance: The ambiance was a mix between a sports barsy bar area surrounded by a nicer casual feel. Slightly dimmed lighting feel and comfortable seating around, this place is perfect for a friends' night, nicer date night or even grabbing a few drinks at the bar to watch some games!
We had been many times with no reservations when my wife shops - a bit pricey for what the food is but we enjoyed it - we have never had great service but good enough- last night after shopping we buzz in to try to sit at bar or table and the young lady at hostess station reply when asked if they had room for 2 anywhere she said "no we only take reservations now I'm sorry " then proceeded to look away and dismiss my wife . My wife wanted to look at bar area but I decided to leave after hearing that interaction. Def not the friendliest host station in the past but this HS kid with no customer service skills running the show was awkward.

2 stars. Unimpressive. Service was slower than molasses on a cold day. We ordered two appetizers, and it took nearly 30 minutes for them to arrive. During that entire time, no one had even taken our entrée order. Our server was pleasant, but she wasn't very present. We found ourselves constantly looking around for her, but she was nowhere to be found when we needed something. She brought me a glass of water without ice, so I had to ask for it. Thankfully, they have the good nugget ice, so that was definitely a win. One thing that really stood out was the food delivery. Normally, restaurants use seat numbers so the food runner knows exactly where each dish belongs. Instead, they just placed plates wherever there was space. It was odd. Maybe it was because we were seated at a round table? I ordered the wings with a side of broccoli. The wings were decent--good enough, but nothing I'd go out of my way to order again. The broccoli was cooked perfectly, but unfortunately it wasn't warm. I also asked for hot habanero sauce and a side of garlic butter. The habanero sauce was disappointingly watery, and the garlic butter arrived cold. Why not melt the butter before bringing it to the table? The entire experience left me scratching my head. That said, I'll definitely give them another chance because this really felt like an off night. I still want to try the candied bacon, and I'm almost certain I spotted a hot fudge sundae making its way to another table--even though I didn't see it anywhere on the menu! Wish me luck! read more
After a busy weekend of celebrating Fathers Day with family and grandkids, the wife and I slipped away for a lunch to celebrate the blessings of 52 years of marriage. We selected Doc B's and it was our first time here. Normally, we would be at one our favorite restaurants across the parking lot, Seasons 52. I'm so happy we tried Doc B's. It was absolutely amazing on every single facet of being a great eatery. The facility is inviting and fits a business casual lunch crowd and would also be most appropriate for a date night or special gathering. Friendly and prompt service starts at the hostess stand and just builds from that point. Our server, Sam (Samantha) was one of the most professional and attentive server we have experienced in some time. It takes a great management team to mold a staff to be exceptional. And to our surprise the General Manager, John served us our entrees at the table. But later checked in with us to evaluate our experience; which is unheard of these days. John and Samantha impressed us so very much, that Doc B's will now become a regular destination. Oh yes, I should comment on our food and cocktails. TOP NOTCH!! My wife had a carnitas sandwich with slow roasted pork, coleslaw, a pickle spear and thick onion ring with amazing barbecue sauce. It was served with the best tasting side I have ever put in my mouth. You must see what they do with a smashed baby Yukon potato with special breading and deep fried. I had the famous Wok Bowl with shrimp and lo mein noodles and sweet and spicy Thai sauce. It is packed with the freshest vegetables and sprinkled with cashews. I was blown away with the quantity of shrimp in that bowl. They do not skimp on the protein. I enjoyed this dish so very much and can truly say it isnt just a stir fry entree. Beautiful facility, friendly and attentive staff, management that truly cares about the customer and quality food coming from the kitchen that will not disappoint. INDIANAPOLIS IS BLESSED TO HAVE ONE OF JUST TEN DOC B's RESTAURANTS IN THE COUNTRY. read more

This place has all of the right vibes to be exceptional, but our visit fell a bit short. Let me tell you why. First off, the location is both convenient and maddening when it comes to the parking. I saw a sign for complimentary valet, but I suppose that is only offered at certain times of day or on certain days. We visited on a busy (for the mall) Sunday afternoon, so trying to find a parking space was nuts. If ever there was a time to offer valet, I would dare to think that this should've been it. I can't imagine that week days are this bad. I'm guessing that they offer valet for dinner service...maybe. I'd made reservations because I didn't know what type of crowd to expect but they didn't seem necessary. There was plenty of availability. I requested a booth and was sat at one next to the glass looking into the kitchen. At first I thought this was nice. The kitchen was super clean and you get to "see all the action." Eventually, it became distracting...which elevated to annoying as we watched several plates of what we ordered be carried off to other tables! The wait for our food was loooonnnggg! My husband ordered two appetizers as his meal and I ordered a burger with fries and a side of elote. I'm not even exaggerating, perhaps even underestimating, but we waited around 45 minutes for our food. The kitchen crew was smallish, but that's no excuse. Shortly after receiving our food, a random woman came over and just started talking about our food. She didn't introduce herself...just walked up to the edge of our table and said "your burger looks amazing...oh and your shrimp does too. It's amazing because some stores only have that seasonally, but we have it year-round." That's when I interjected, "are you the manager?" She said yes and probably caught that we weren't in the mood to discuss the decision-making process of why some stores have it year-round and others don't. She told us to enjoy and walked away. Management...please don't do that. Walking up to tables while mouths are full or conversations are being enjoyed is not okay. Especially after such a long wait; we were "starving" and just wanted to eat while the food was still hot. Walking by and checking to see if everything is okay is perfect, but please keep it moving. Not everyone likes to engage in that manner. Being that we were sat right next to the kitchen, I saw her walk into the kitchen and put something into her mouth. I'm guessing it was time for her lunch and maybe that's why she was ogling our plates. Shortly thereafter, she and another person sat in a corner booth enjoying a meal. Now, about the food, service and ambiance. The food was good. The Beale Burger (8/10) was a nice size, cooked well and the bbq sauce, bacon, cheddar, onion ring combo worked well together. I also added their housemade tartar sauce. Our waitress told me that some people liked dipping their fries in it, so I smeared in on my burger in lieu of mayo. For my fries (7/10), I favored the garlic sauce (10/10) or the sweet and spicy sauce (10/10). The Elote Style (7.5/10) Corn was pretty good too. It had a little kick to it that was very nice, but it was missing that creamy element. With the leftovers that I took home, I added a bit of the tartar sauce mixed with some of the garlic sauce and stirred it into the corn...then, it was a 10/10! My husband ordered the Oven Roasted Chicken Wings (9/10), which our server presented with a sweet and spicy sauce that bumped them up to a 10/10. It doesn't usually come with sauce, but we're saucy folks, so he requested that special. He also ordered the Killer Grilled Shrimp (5/10). It's grilled, but served cold, which makes them tough. The flavor was good, but the texture made them less than enjoyable to eat. Our server did her best to describe them to us, but she hadn't had them herself and forgot to mention that they are served cold. He enjoyed the accompanying watermelon salad (7/10) more than the shrimp itself. Our server was very attentive up until we received our food and then we didn't see her for a while, which was fine. It gave us time to eat and enjoy...mostly undisturbed. She made sure that we had everything we needed prior to that. The dining room has a lovely, moody design and the tables are not all crowded together. They have plenty of booths and tables are adequately spaced. We took notice of that, as we don't like to be in crowded/cramped spaces. Lovely artwork, soft lighting. We want to come back and dine there at night. read more

Another great meal at doc b's! Our server, Carlos, was on top of it. He kept water full every moment and was attentive. We sat on the patio, with the heaters on us and it felt so perfect. 10/10 all around! Don't forget to finish off with the chocolate cake, the wafers on top are to die for. read more

Giving them a 4/5 because my entree came out 5-10 minutes after my friends did. Otherwise, it was all delicious! A little costly for the portion sizes and it had a fancier feel to this place than most. Would go again. read more
I can't wait to come back. I recently saw a TikTok about a chicken Caesar wrap that looked amazing. I was pumped when I realized we had a location in Indy and went for lunch to try it out. We went a couple days before Christmas, which means the mall was packed and the restaurant seemed busy. They were able to seat us in 5 minutes which was amazing! The wrap was incredible, and I really enjoyed the fries. It was probably the best chicken Caesar wrap I've had (and it's one of my favorite foods). The service was a little slow, but they were really busy so I won't take off any stars for it. Overall great experience! read more

I've been to Doc B's several times, and they never disappoint! I love how classy and upscale the restaurant ambiance is. They have lots of nice seating, and a bar with several TVs to watch any games. So many entrees and appetizers are so good! I highly recommend the chicken wings as a starter. It is on the more expensive end, but it's totally worth it, and they give big portions! They also have the best nugget ice with their drinks. Service is always amazing. Love that it's connected to the mall with free parking. If you want great American food and a restaurant with a nice classy vibe, this is the place for you! read more

I was on a work trip and walking around the mall when I stopped in. Eric, the bartender, helped me pick a delicious entrée -- the West Coast Steak Burger -- and I added a side of sautéed broccoli. Honestly, that broccoli was really good! Wine was also a great deal during happy hour at $9 a glass. I'd definitely visit again when I'm in the area. read more

If I'd been paying adequate attention, I could likely tell you the background story behind Doc B's Restaurant & Bar as the very basics were explained to me when I revealed to my server, Jack, that this was my first visit to the Indy location inside the Fashion Mall at Keystone. I'd long wanted to check out Doc B's, however, a couple things got in my way: 1) I'm naturally cheap and Doc B's does tend to be a bit of a splurge; and, 2) I have the fashion sense of Pigpen and it seems like just about every time I've considered visiting Doc B's, I've looked at myself in the mirror and thought to myself "Nuh uh. Bean coat did a sufficient job of covering up my homeless chic (No, I'm not insulting our unhoused hoosiers). I entered via the mall entrance, a tad confusing but you basically go down the narrow hallway and through the bar to the streetside hosting station. Yes, that means it's actually a tad easier to just enter from the actual parking lot and Doc B's does have an external entrance and also an enclosed, heated patio that was not in use when I arrived. I will note that both sides are accessible and the external entrance has appropriate curb cuts and a couple parking spots. While I found the bar a bit tight in terms of access, I generally had no trouble getting where I needed to go as a wheelchair user. The hostess moved the chair and I was seated at a 4-top near the front. I will note that there are definitely inaccessible seating areas that either have a step up or are high-top. However, I also saw pretty decent spaces for those with mobility challenges. The interior is warm and welcoming. The music is rather generic pop (I will admit it was a bit nice to get a reprieve from the current season's holiday muzak). As I noted, my server was Jack (My dad's name, though this Jack was much friendlier). He gave a brief explanation of the restaurant's history including that it was started by Craig Bernstein in 2013 and named after his father. The menu is kind of all over the place and there seems to be some variation from location to location. I ended up going with one of their better known items - buttermilk fried chicken along with a side. The side is naturally coleslaw, however, it apparently can be changed. I decided to have that as my side as I figured the fried chicken would be a decent quantity (I was right) and wasn't looking to stuff myself. The two dishes were a perfect combo. It took a few minutes and my food arrived. Truthfully, I despise when it comes out too quickly as that usually indicates it was sitting there waiting. This was served hot and was honestly quite wonderful. I also really loved the coleslaw - a healthy amount that looked tasty and was tasty. Jack checked on me a couple times and served up an iced tea refill without my asking (and in a fresh glass - a plus). You can pay either through the usual method (with the server) or there's a QR code you can use. I will admit I found the QR code a bit confusing initially, however, it worked out fine. They do have a rewards program (the only thing that actually wasn't explained to me). This was definitely a more expensive meal than I usually go, however, the service was spot-on, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxing, and it was an overall good decision for me to treat myself to a top-notch experience. The servers were all dressed quite nicely, though I did see others in jeans and overall felt pretty comfortable and wishing I'd checked out the place much sooner. I'll for sure be back. read more
Very intimate place . Had a very interesting visit there so dont really know how i feel but here you go lol. wanted to sit outside but manager said it just wasn't open yet. But there was people sitting out there. The host came over talking and became very distracted !!! And knocked/ broke condiments. Hot sauce every where lol . myself being allergic to tomatoes i picked a burger that don't have tomatoes on it. And without fell my burger came out with tomatoes on it and when I brought it to servers attention that my burger doesn't come with tomatoes her response was "yes it does" and walks away. RUDE!!! Finally got that situation and then things turned around had a different server take care of us and she was amazing. The food was actually really delicious . Excellent service and good food and cocktails...probably the best restaurant at the Keystone Fashion Mall to grab a meal at after shopping. I will go back. read more
We've been here twice now. The first time with kids. It looks, feels and tastes like a restaurant a step below Ruth's Chris' but a step above The Olive Garden. If you are at the mall and are like 'I must have a sit down dinner that is not the food court'.... then ok, Doc B's will do. If you want food that is better and is close by then try Late Harvest or Ocean Prime. Still not my favorite restaurants in Indy but I think better than Doc B's for the price. Hubs was not impressed by the cocktails at all. He and I are both very particular about cocktails however. If you just need a stiff drink in a nice atmosphere.... sure this is the place for you. read more
Tried this place for the first time. It's very nicely decorated, we opted to sit outside on the screened patio as the weather was perfect. The chairs were comfortable for "patio" furniture. Our server was great and offered good suggestions. We were greater promptly and attended to well. The food was good, not mind blowing but good. I would try it again. We ordered the crispy fried jalapeno potatoes for an appetizer and they were really good. I got the chicken wok bowl, it was good but I think it could have used some more seasoning. My friend got the crispy fried chicken and liked it too. read more

Nice ambiance. Vibes were good. Bartenders were friendly. Service was a little slow, but nothing bad. Lettuce wraps were great. Bar is nice, big round circle, can see everything if you sit in the right spot. Nice kitchen window to see everything too. read more
