Visited for lunch with my sister and ordered a well done Bourbon Burger w. fries and the Flamme Fried Chicken sandwich w. truffle parmesan fries. My sister said the burger and fries were good. It had a great amount of toppings and burgee was not dry. My chicken sandwich was good as well but the truffle fries had way too much parmesan and not enough truffle oil. My son turned 17 and decided he wanted to celebrate his birthday at this award winning local burger spot with his sister and I. It's a Friday night and their advertised hours are Sunday through Thursday 11 am until 9 pm with Friday and Saturday closing at 10 pm. We decided to go at 9 fully expecting the dining room to be open since the hours are clearly posted and we arrived an hour before closing. To my surprise, we walked in and someone who I'm assuming is the manager looks our way and says to the hostess that they're only doing takeout. He clearly made that decision as we walked in. The dining room was empty except one couple who hadn't received their food yet. I could understand if it were 30 mins before, but an hour means you should just close at 9 pm everyday. A couple walked in minutes after us and were also given this information, but decided to leave instead of order. I did, however, order for my son since I opted out and he was looking forward to eating here. This was not how I expected to celebrate my son's birthday but was forced to even though they had roughly eight people "working" and were unable to accommodate three. This really left a feeling of disdain that I can't shake. I have no desire to patronize this establishment in the future as I was not welcomed during business hours this time. We came for dinner with some family members. I ordered the West Coast burger which was good but lacked a bit of flavor to me. The fries are an extra charge but they were good. We also got some garlic Parmesan wings as an appetizer and liked them. Our service was ok. We came with our son and we asked for a high chair three times before we finally got one. I arrived with an unannounced party of nine on Mother's Day, and we were promptly seated. I ordered the Western BBQ Burger just the way it comes with fries and a vanilla shake. The burger was excellent, and I liked the fries, too. The shake was okay.... not bad, but nowhere close to warranting the $8 they charge for it. Save your money and get a fountain drink or water. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. Our service was good, but I have a warning about their tables, which is that they tip very easily and are unsafe. A small child in our group accidentally tipped one over as we were leaving, spilling and breaking stuff. I saw it happen, and all he did was lean on the edge of the table in a normal manner. Despite the place seeming busy, we were seated right away with no waiting. It was nice, bright, and cheery inside with a nice warm feel to it. I don't recall the music that was playing but sort of remember it being upbeat. I went to the bathroom shortly after we got seated and noticed the bathroom was nice and clean. We were seated at a nice roomy booth near the bathrooms and kitchen. The deco seemed to match their restaurant with orange and yellow flames on the booth windows. There was some wood stacked against a wall near our table. There were also some TVs on the wall, some showing sports, some advertising the restaurant's food. The restaurant also seemed very clean. We started off with Diet Cokes to drink and an appetizer called The Grilled Garden. It was grilled zucchini, grilled eggplant, grilled red onions, and grilled red peppers. They came with two servings of creamy and tangy garlic aioli. The vegetables seemed to be seasoned, I couldn't quite place the seasoning, but the vegetables were delicious! I've never tried eggplant before, but it was good! I then ordered a West Coast Burger cooked medium rare. It was on a brioche bun with that creamy and tangy garlic aioli, perfectly ripe and creamy sliced avocado, roasted red pepper, and nice fresh and soft mozzarella cheese. It was mouthwateringly juicy and the flavors blended well together. I had a side of more grilled zucchini which was again very tasty. My wife had the Flamme Burger cooked medium. It had hot roasted Serrano peppers, creamy gruyere cheese, thick applewood smoked bacon, and a spicy Flamme sauce on a brioche bun. She very much enjoyed her burger. It was cooked to perfection. It was spicier than she was expecting, but still very good. She had sweet potato fries on the side. I tried one of the fries, they were really cooked well with not too much salt. Just the right amount of soft and crispy. Ethan was our server and he was very attentive, polite, friendly, and professional. Another gentleman came by our table to check on us and took one of our plates, I believe he may have been the manager, but we don't know and we didn't ask. He was friendly as well. I was in Indy for work and the coworker we were working with highly recommended this place. We were seated immediately, our waitress was friendly, attentive, and very helpful with suggestions. Everyone working there seemed to have great attitudes as well. My burger was very good, but super messy. I had no choice but use fork and knife to eat it. Our Indy foodie group came to Flamme Burger for dinner one night because we have heard how wonderful the burgers were, and I can confirm that this is true. The ambiance is really nice and cool with fire theme decor and a nice display of firewood in the back. The menu provided a huge variety of burgers that you could choose from such as a bourbon burger, turkey burger, and the famous Flamme Burger which won the Indy burger battle several times. I ordered the Flamme Burger which consisted of jalapeno hot peppers, brie cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion with a side of sweet potato fries. I had the Guggman Haus River Side East IPA to drink which was very refreshing and tasted perfect. The Flamme Burger was probably the best burger I have had in Indy in quite a while. I can see why it won the Indy Burger Battle four years in a row because it is just pure heaven. The burger was cooked at the right temperature and was very juicy and flavorful. It was definitely a party in my mouth and I loved it very much. I do not eat burgers very often, so this was definitely a huge treat for me and I'm glad I stopped by Flamme Burger this night for a burger. A few of us decided to get the gelato shake for dessert because it was so tempting. I ordered the chocolate peanut butter gelato shake to go and it was incredible!! Very rich and thick just like a milkshake should be! Flamme Burger is a nice hidden treasure in the Keystone area that not a lot of people know about, so you have to come here for a burger. Voted Best Burger Joint in Indy by the Indianapolis Star in March 2024. And, we agree 110%! I had to have the Flamme Burger again, I enjoyed it that much. As before, the meat was high quality, the ingredients were fresh, it was cooked exactly like I ordered, and arrived nice and hot. My wife got the Flamme Fried Chicken Sandwich and loved it. We've also had their salads here and they are great as well... crisp good quality lettuce. Whatever you do, leave room for the shakes. Absolutely delicious. We saw a picture of the caramel shake on the rolling menu board on the wall. We couldn't pass it up... and are so glad we didn't! O Our server was Emily and she was wonderful. Very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and extremely customer oriented. We will ask for her next time we visit.... because there WILL be many more "next visits". The food and service are top notch! The music doesn't match the rest of the vibe, but it's still a good family friendly environment. I had a Waygu with bacon and tried a bite of the mushroom truffle burger, both were excellent. I got the Sunny Side burger that was cooked perfectly and the fries were just as noteworthy. I love a good egg on a burger and this one did not disappoint. The bacon was cooked perfectly too. I heard this was the best burger in town, well I agree. The reason is not just taste, aesthics and ambience, it's the open prep area, the stacks of wood, and the authenticity. The service was top tier. Waiters were fast and pleasant. The owner even greeted us and asked how was our food. It was luxury experience for less than $50. The burgers are cooked per order. I tried the "Truffle Burger": sautéed onions, gruyere cheese and aioli truffles. I ordered my burger "well done" but next time I will get "medium well" I feel that would have been more palatable for me personally. Otherwise, the humongous burger was perfect, meaty and delicious. The truffles, with onions, came on the side and was extraordinary! Very flavorful. All in all, I ate 1 glorious bite because I was full from the fries. Our side was the "Queso Flamme Fries": fresh cut fries with queso sauce, topped with bacon. They were crispy, fresh and popping hot. My partner in this adventure had the "Flamme Fried Chicken": buttermilk breaded fried chicken breast, with bacon, pepper jack cheese and slaw. Now, why did he come to a burger joint for chicken? I don't know but he'd said it tasted amazing and he wish he had opted for the pretzel bun. Whenever we're in the area and i ask my husband where he wants to eat, he'll ask to visit Flamme Burger. Our mouths starts watering from the strip mall's large free parking lot when the yummy smoky grill smells hits our noses. Service has been good but sometimes can be mildly lagging when it's busy. There is an outdoor seating option and the restaurant has been clean on our visits. I like how Flamme Burger offers good local brews and they rotate them regularly. Our most recent visit featured Metazoa, Centerpoint, and i think Bier. The burgers are flavorful and fulfilling. Sides unfortunately aren't included in the burger/sandwich prices. Three things that stood out to me at this restaurant was the service of my waiter, the deliciousness of what I ordered, and the flow of how quickly we received are order. 1. Our server took very good care of us and pay attention to our dining needs. My friend's son is autistic and I appreciate how she made her feel at ease being that this was his 1st time dining in a restaurant seating. She made sure that his drink stayed replenished so he would not have a melt down. Also, realizing that flamme burger does not have chicken strips/fingers - we are thankful for the quick thinking of our server to say that she can cut up a crispy chicken breast into strips. 2. I ordered a barbecue chicken sandwich and it was moist and tasty, the sauce was a little tangy with a kick. Also, those pretzel bites were to die for! Some of the best pretzel bites I've ever had and I wish they were unlimited or could be a side with the burgers! 3. The restaurant has a sports bar feel, but it did have bright decor. However, Flamme Burger is consistently ranked among the best in the city with their award-winning sandwiches, so I had to see what all the hype was about. I ordered our food to go and was pleasantly surprised with how well it kept on the way home, thanks to how well it was packaged by the friendly staff. I had their West Coast Burger, with fresh avocado, roasted red peppers, mozzarella, and garlic aioli. It's a big burger that packs a delicious pinch of flavor, exactly what I was craving. Be sure to order your fries with a variety of their sauces to taste - one of the highlights of my meal was sampling their dips including the 1000 Island Aioli, Flamme Sauce, and Chipotle BBQ. This place was delicious! Took the family after spending the afternoon shopping around the keystone and Castleton area to Flamme Burger. We went on a Thursday around 7pm. No wait at all. Staff was attentive a kind. We ordered fried mozzarella as an app and Flamme chicken burgers for us adults, a kid burger and grilled cheese for our kids. Adult burgers are ala cart so you buy the fries separately. You can share an order of fries, it's a pretty large basket. Kids meals come with fries included. We also ordered dipping sauces which they charge for but it's not expensive, $1.50 for three sauces. Definitely get the garlic aioli. I could've gotten all three of the garlic and been happy! We paid extra for garlic Parmesan fries, the kids plain fries had more flavor in my opinion so my next visit I won't need to upcharge for the flavored fries, original were tasty. We shared the truffle fries that were ok though maybe the oil was too hot as they were near burned also. $8(!) milkshake he had was quite small, & not notable. Overpriced for the quality particularly with SO many options in Indy for hamburgers. Eh, it's a burger joint so not as focused on lack of atmosphere, *bad* muzak, or lackluster service. But the greeter was less than enthused, "Just 2?" when we walked in. Very good burger & beer joint. I had a Truffle Burger - a truly excellent juicy & flavorful medium rare (as ordered) disk of rich beef slathered with sautéed onions and mushrooms. The dash of truffle aioli was a nice touch though the truffle oil was barely detectable. My side of sweet potato fries was excellent as well. Our group of 6 ordered a fair representation of different burgers. Washing down with selections from a good beer list made our gathering of old (both definitions) friends a celebration. read more
