Great spot for rolls, drinks, and apps! Whenever we go there are drink specials for under $10! They have a variety of rolls and sushi bowls. I like to get the calamari roll and the crab Rangoon rolls. For appetizers I go with the fried pickles. They are huge disc with the perfect amount of fried coating.

My first time at Drakes. Just happened to be in the area decided to stop in for a late lunch. I've heard great things about it and the food didn't disappoint. I got the chicken chopped salad with honey mustard dressing. It was delicious and the portion was large. Our server was sweet and attentive. You can tell they are short staffed because it took some time for someone to get to our table. The restaurant is smaller than expected but plenty of parking and it's wheelchair accessible. I will definitely try it out again.

Drakes is a cornucopia of flavors. Upon first view, the menu at Drake's is a bit confusing. I don't know of too many places where you can get fried bologna, seared salmon, and a sushi roll all at once. Somehow, it all works. I love the casual bar feel and the ample space available at Drake's. I can't imagine an outfit that would be out of place, and the menu is broad enough to match almost anyone's taste. This is definitely a place for friends. If you haven't popped in yet, it's worth a visit.

I'm not sure if it was the cold weather or what but everything was "off" here today starting with our server to the quality of the food. When a member of our part enquired how a particular menu item was prepared, our server was either uninformed or unwilling to provide any information. After we ordered there was a request to make a change but our server quickly stated the order had already been turned in. They weren't very busy so it couldn't have been due to a lunch rush. I ordered the fish tacos which were breaded and had no seasoning at all. The coleslaw was the only bright spot today. Our other party shared the same dismay about the quality of the food. I'll chalk it up to just an off day.....

I've eaten at Drakes a few times and never had issues, but today was different. We recommended Drakes to some friends who had never been before, needless to say, they were not impressed and I was disappointed because I've experienced better. I ordered the sushi, which was ok, and the other guests in our party had fried fish tacos which were not very tasty. Another ordered the shrimp grilled cheese that was really lacking. The only dish that turned out decent was the salad. Unfortunately, the service was not any better. Our server was not friendly at all! Might be a while before I eat or recommend Drakes again.

My husband and I came to Drake's for a late lunch while we were in the area. The place we originally wanted was closed, and because we were planning on having poke bowls, he thought Drake's sounded good. We'd never been, and I'll admit, I was a little leery of getting sushi at a burger bar, but I stuck with my craving and ordered a tuna stack and shrimp spring roll. My husband got a poke bowl and a tuna spring roll too. We also ordered the soft pretzels as an app--yes, an odd combination! The pretzels were really good and the rest of our food was solid too. I didn't love the ponzu sauce that came with my tuna stack--it tasted more like regular soy sauce-- and my husband didn't really like the wasabi mayo that came on his bowl either. Those weren't a big deal, but something we'd order differently if we returned. The menu had a lot of options that sounded tasty. Our server was sweet and helpful, but at the end of our meal we did kind of feel like they were pushing us out by clearing our table. Clearing off plates is totally normal, but they came back and took our glasses too while we were still chatting, which felt a little awkward. We were planning to order one of the cookies, but ended up going somewhere else for dessert instead. Overall a decent choice--there was lots of seating and a menu that has something for everyone. With so many other restaraunts nearby, I'm not sure I'd come again with just the two of us, but it'd be a good option for a group.

Visited Drake's for dinner with coworkers recently. We must have had around 20 people and somehow, we were seated at adacent tables, which was nice. Our servers were excellent. For dinner, I requested a mushroom and swiss burger with a side of sweet potato fries. My corworker requested sushi, a burger, and some tater tots. We were chit chatting quite a bit and the food came out pretty quick. My burger was large and delicious. The patty was well seasoned and extended well beyond the bun. My sweet potato fries were delicious. I tasted some of the sushi and it was good. My coworker ordered so much food that he couldn't finish it all. We had good times, great food, and great service.

Every time I've came in it's always a coincidence that Mitiz is my server but she's AMAZING! Lol. I always get the chicken buffalo quesadilla but today I tried the Crab Rangoon Roll and I definitely will be getting it again. Mitzi talked me into trying the liquid sunshine drink from the new summer cocktail menu. I fell in love with it and had two. Today wasn't too busy for a late afternoon on a Sunday.

Called ahead for a large group to celebrate a birthday. Attentive service. Everyone enjoyed their food. Good portions. Sushi rolls a lot larger than expected. Many more things we wanted to try from the menu. We will be back!

We tried this place for lunch on a very, very cold MLK day. There were plenty of open tables, and our server was kind and attentive and told us what her favorites were. Both my boyfriend and I ordered burgers - if you're seriously hungry, these are great. The burger was huge, the flavor was great and we'd absolutely order them again. Even the fries were the perfect amount of crispy. Their ranch tastes homemade too. We also split a pretzel appetizer - not as delicious as the burger, but still good. We decided next time, if we weren't quite so hungry, we'd split an app and a burger. We were treated to a lovely warm cookie and ice cream - YUM. It hit the spot for a sweet treat. We will definitely be back!

Backstory: this review is based on my latest two visits. My first visit was 3 stars, but today's visit was nothing short of 5 !!! The service was much better!!!! My first visit was on a weeknight; after 9 PM, after work. The service was subpar. So much that I didn't, nor planned, coming back that late again. It wasn't very busy and the one employee that was in the bar area (dining area) was there and wasn't very attentive. I believe she brought over utensils and water and that was it. She never checked back in or anything. Then someone else came to take our order. I promise, the food is what saved the night! The absolute best fried chicken sandwich I've had to date!!!!! The salad was fresh and cold. It was a little too cold for me personally, but aside from the temperature, it was very tasty. The sriracha wings we tried as an appetizer. I'll just say that we had to do some dusting because the flavor was a bit overpowering. Also, get the housemade ranch!!! Thank me later! Second visit: zero complaints!!! Alana was great! The fried fish was hot, battered just right & fried just right! I now have another favorite here at Drake's. This evening, I felt seen and valued as a customer. That in itself, paired with great food makes for a very happy, full and satisfied repeat customer!!!!

Friday night at Drakes I expected it to be busy but I was also expecting the staff to be able to handle it. I will say that our Bartender seemed like she was fairly new so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. We did not wait to be seated because we sit at the bar, so that was good. But Waited on food, waited on drinks and waited on Check, I like Drake so I'll be back, but hopefully I'll have a better experience.

Drakes was just okay! We went there recently for a birthday and two of us were there early, and the waitress never waited on us until our full party sat down. We were wanting to order drinks or appetizers, and waited about 20 mins to get served. Overall the service was very average. The food, however, was really good! We got the pretzels, tots, and pickles as appetizers and they were all delicious. I ordered the sushi special bowl and loved it. My boyfriend got fried fish and said it was way better than he expected. Another person in our party said the smash burgers were well-made. Overall it was decent, would've been much better if our server was more attentive and friendly!

The restaurant has a very cute aesthetic and plenty of seating whether you wanna sit at a table or at the bar. It was a little bit of a busier time when we came for lunch, but it didn't take our group too long to be seated. They have plenty of options if you have a taste for sushi or if you want a regular protein based entrée with rice I also appreciate that there were a lot of veggie options for non-meat eaters. I had a dish with broccoli and shrimp and it had great flavor and the portion size was perfect. It also came with a small side salad or soup before your entree came out.

It looks appealing on the…read moreoutside and, walking in, also has nice booths, some tables, and a unique, beautiful, large bar/sushi counter. The restaurant presents like a higher-end sushi house, but this is a little mismatched with the slightly loud 80s pop tunes streaming from the speakers. It seems like instrumental soft Japanese stings would be more appropriate. Also a little mismatched in the ambiance is a giant TV screen on the back wall (near out table), and large TVs over the bar area. They just don't "look right" with the tables and interior décor. The menu seems on par in price and offerings for similar-style sushi houses. We split edaname($6), I got the sushi dinner ($23) and hubs got the special lobster & seafood clay pot ($36). I drank water and he had 1 diet coke, so everything with tax + 20% tip came to $90. The food is presented beautifully, and tasted good. Both dinners had choice of soup or salad, and we each got ginger salad. We're lovers of ginger dressing. This one was ok - tasted good but could have used more, as I has lots of un-dressed lettuce in the bowl. My sushi dinner was fine but nothing extraordinary. For the "special" lobster & seafood clay pot, presentation was again beautiful, aroma and taste were good, nice sauce, but it was a little underwhelming in both seafood contents and amount. That being said, we had a small amount of leftovers from the hub's dish (some rice, sauce and veggies), and they present very nice takeout bags with a thermal lining. We actually ended up giving the container of food to a homeless man downtown, so I did not eat the leftovers, and, admittedly, it was not enough for a full lunch. So overall, while the food was very pretty and also tasty, we have a lot of other sushi options that give more bang to the buck for our quantity and atmosphere preferences. #yum #ReviewsByRL

All of my loved ones were there to celebrate my birthday, and paired with such amazing food it made it a magical night. It was a Tuesday night and was fairly busy, but we passed any downtime chatting with each other and sipping on cocktails. The owner, Nara, is SO kind, sweet, gracious, I could go on and on. You can tell she really loves her job and running a business. The staff were so attentive for such a large party and made sure we always had fresh cocktails, water refills, and empty plates were removed promptly. We had vegetarians, peanut allergies, and picky eaters, but they accommodated everyone. I think my husband and I ended up splitting 5 sushi rolls total (still dreaming of them) and the table pretty much split multiple appetizers across the board. Everyone loved their cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. When I thanked Nara for such an amazing dinner and let her know it was my first time dining there and that it was my birthday she brought out a round of lychee sake shots for the table and started playing a happy birthday song throughout the restaurant. Literally almost cried because it was so sweet and thoughtful. The sake was crazy delicious and a hit for the whole table. The only *minor* downside was that each cocktail was made individually by what seemed to be just one bartender, so it took some time for drinks to come out. Again, otherwise a perfect meal, but keep that in mind and be patient for drinks to come out! My husband and I's favorite sushi haunt has always been Mori Sushi before now, but now I cannot wait to come back to Hasuno for more amazing appetizers and sushi rolls!!! They have a small parking lot that fills up fast, but there is always lots of street parking in fountain square. It's a great spot for dinner and easily walkable to other spots for nightcaps to end the evening.
