After several visits here I have finally decided that the best thing to order is sushi. This is the favorite restaurant of one of my friends, and I know that when I go out to eat with her this is probably where we will be dining. Over my various visits I have tried a burger, a quesadilla, some appetizers, and finally sushi. Definitely the sushi was the best meal I've had here. I ordered a crab Rangoon roll and California roll. While I thought the California roll was just average, the crab Rangoon roll was excellent! I would definitely order it again. From our booth near the bar we could see water dripping down from the ceiling onto the floor and a couple of other nearby booths. A few employees were cleaning up the water but I wondered what the source of the water was since it had not been raining. Service has always been good enough here. We have always looked at the Drake's menu with cautious curiosity: sushi AND bar food? Is that really a concept that works? Surprisingly, the answer is yes. We ordered a specialty sushi roll to start and we were impressed with the quality. Our only complaint was the table's soy sauce tasted a little weak. I decided to try their All American Mini Burgers and they did not disappoint. The burger meat was tasty and well seasoned and each small double burger was perfectly assembled with their special sauce and pickles. I especially liked that since they were slider style, they were easy to eat and had a nice ratio of meat, toppings, and soft bread. My husband ordered the wings and said they were on par with other bar style wings in the area. No disappointments there! The tap and cocktail menu was extensive and I appreciated their mocktail menu as well, which offered several options for anyone avoiding alcohol. The restaurant has a great covered patio area open to the outside and another room with the main bar and plenty of tables and booths if you prefer AC. Our service was crazy fast and we had multiple servers check in with us at the right times to make sure we didn't need anything. I was meeting a colleague on a bitter cold day in January. Drake's was his pick, and I'm so glad it was! We were greeted by one of the team members and told to sit wherever we wanted. Grechaii came to grab our drink orders and let us know Shelia would be there in a few minutes to take our food order. As we started chatting and checking out the menu, Shelia came to greet us and answered a few questions. She took our order and promised to be back soon. A few minutes later, fresh food arrived, and it was delicious! Our conversation quieted as we both became busy eating and enjoying our meal. As we ate, the Drake's team would stop by to remove unused plates. Our drinks were never too low, and the service was attentive but never intrusive. Jamal, on his first day, was there removing trash and used plates from the table. Amanda stopped by with drink refills, and I quickly realized the team at Drake's was operating like a well-oiled machine. Everyone was pitching in, smiling, sharing friendly conversation, and answering questions as they came up. At the end of the meal, we paid and tipped. On the way out, I spoke to the manager, Anyea, and shared my appreciation for the food, service, and positive energy her team had brought to our experience. I asked her what the team at Drake's wanted their community to know about their business. She responded that they specialize in beers, burgers, sushi, and fun. They want their customers to feel welcomed and have a great time. Kids are welcome at Drake's, and they take food preparation and food allergies very seriously. My first time at Drakes. Just happened to be in the area decided to stop in for a late lunch. I've heard great things about it and the food didn't disappoint. I got the chicken chopped salad with honey mustard dressing. It was delicious and the portion was large. Our server was sweet and attentive. You can tell they are short staffed because it took some time for someone to get to our table. The restaurant is smaller than expected but plenty of parking and it's wheelchair accessible. When a member of our part enquired how a particular menu item was prepared, our server was either uninformed or unwilling to provide any information. My husband and I came to Drake's for a late lunch while we were in the area. The place we originally wanted was closed, and because we were planning on having poke bowls, he thought Drake's sounded good. We'd never been, and I'll admit, I was a little leery of getting sushi at a burger bar, but I stuck with my craving and ordered a tuna stack and shrimp spring roll. My husband got a poke bowl and a tuna spring roll too. We also ordered the soft pretzels as an app--yes, an odd combination! The pretzels were really good and the rest of our food was solid too. I didn't love the ponzu sauce that came with my tuna stack--it tasted more like regular soy sauce-- and my husband didn't really like the wasabi mayo that came on his bowl either. Those weren't a big deal, but something we'd order differently if we returned. The menu had a lot of options that sounded tasty. Our server was sweet and helpful, but at the end of our meal we did kind of feel like they were pushing us out by clearing our table. Clearing off plates is totally normal, but they came back and took our glasses too while we were still chatting, which felt a little awkward. We were planning to order one of the cookies, but ended up going somewhere else for dessert instead. Overall a decent choice--there was lots of seating and a menu that has something for everyone. We recommended Drakes to some friends who had never been before, needless to say, they were not impressed and I was disappointed because I've experienced better. Visited Drake's for dinner with coworkers recently. We must have had around 20 people and somehow, we were seated at adacent tables, which was nice. Our servers were excellent. For dinner, I requested a mushroom and swiss burger with a side of sweet potato fries. My corworker requested sushi, a burger, and some tater tots. We were chit chatting quite a bit and the food came out pretty quick. My burger was large and delicious. The patty was well seasoned and extended well beyond the bun. My sweet potato fries were delicious. I tasted some of the sushi and it was good. My coworker ordered so much food that he couldn't finish it all. We tried this place for lunch on a very, very cold MLK day. There were plenty of open tables, and our server was kind and attentive and told us what her favorites were. Both my boyfriend and I ordered burgers - if you're seriously hungry, these are great. The burger was huge, the flavor was great and we'd absolutely order them again. Backstory: this review is based on my latest two visits. My first visit was 3 stars, but today's visit was nothing short of 5 !!! The service was much better!!!! My first visit was on a weeknight; after 9 PM, after work. The service was subpar. So much that I didn't, nor planned, coming back that late again. It wasn't very busy and the one employee that was in the bar area (dining area) was there and wasn't very attentive. I believe she brought over utensils and water and that was it. She never checked back in or anything. Then someone else came to take our order. I promise, the food is what saved the night! The absolute best fried chicken sandwich I've had to date!!!!! The salad was fresh and cold. It was a little too cold for me personally, but aside from the temperature, it was very tasty. The sriracha wings we tried as an appetizer. When a restaurant spreads itself too thin trying to appeal to too many people, it doesn't usually end well. Drake's offers burgers and sushi, and at first I was like, "What?" But then, after visiting, I was like, "What!" I figured I'd go all in and just go ahead and order the sushi. I got their special-of-the-month sushi roll, which is the crispy crab & avocado roll. It was really good! The sushi roll was freshly made -- apparently, they have their own sushi house inside the restaurant with a guy making rolls. My youngest child likes sushi too (or what he thinks is sushi), so I ordered him a California Roll and he was mighty pleased to see that it came with crab in it. He loves crab. I would not hesitate to order the sushi here again. The rest of my family ordered burgers, and they really enjoyed them. The fries that come with the burgers are the zig-zaggy kind that are crispy and yet mealy inside. They are slightly seasoned, too. My other child ordered off the kids menu, and he got the cheeseburger sliders, which comes with two mini cheeseburgers. Kids can get their choice of beverage, and yes, Drake's offers milk. One of the fun aspects of the restaurant is that they had trivia questions on one of the TVs over by the bar. My kids had a good time trying to guess the answers to questions like, "What does the word 'maki' mean in Japanese cuisine?" (FYI: It means "roll.") It was stated that she was the only bartender for the entire place for the first day of the year. They took your temperature when you walked in and had hand sanitizer everywhere. We sat outside and it was the perfect evening! Came here on a Saturday afternoon at lunch time to meet friends. This was my first visit here. Great to see a Bloody Mary do it yourself fable but it needs more options. The service was quick friendly and helpful. Typical bar fare menu but the menu was extensive. Pricing is fair considering it's location and proximity to keystone and being in the middle of all shopping and restos. There is a lot of competition. We sat at a high top which was great as we were able to watch several games at the same time. Parking is easy in that strip mall. I would def come back to try more foods and come with a crowd.
