And not much has changed over those 60 years, except ownership. The regulars speak highly of the original and current owners. The bar stools are clearly dated (1970's) but are amazingly comfortable. The decor has accumulated over time and includes a vintage stamp machine and Colts memorabilia. The regulars are super friendly, welcoming and down right funny. They were watching game shows on television, shooting bull and sipping beers. We ponied up to the bar. The bartender made my martini stirred, not shaken and added six olives. It was served in a fine crystal martini glass. I was impressed. The regulars described the bar's history. They boasted proudly that Tony Dungy and Chuck Pagano made appearances in the bar in the past. They have a private parking lot out back. If you park there, you can come in the back door. We were invited to park in the back in the future. I think the regulars would rate the bar a hands down 5. I'm knocking off a point for the cigarette smoke that permeates the bar. They have two rooms that are smoke free, but the smoke is still strong. The place kind of grew on me. It's not fancy or upscale. But it's probably one of the friendliest places you'll find.

There are 3 spots to order. A coffee counter with breakfast and snack options. A pub food counter labeled "Gathering House Grille" and a large bar in the center for "the adult drinks". Feels like it would be an amazing spot for live music. Made for an usual weekend lunch spot. Lots of open seating, some funk playing on the stereo, and not much of a crowd. Service was polite and things were quite clean. I had an original smash burger and it was quite tasty. Seemed fresh and had a lot of flavor. The fries dinged it down a star. They were mostly piping hot and fresh out of the fryer with a couple room temp fries in the mix. Must have been the leftovers from an earlier batch but it was an unsettling surprise. Would be a better place to hang out with friends than to visit as a lone dinner. Hopefully I can come back some time when there's a band and a vibe.

During our visit, patrons were watching March Madness on the big screens, playing pool, drinking and laughing. There air was filled with cigarette smoke. The bar is not fancy but the stools comfortable. Neon Budweiser signs and Colts banners hang around the bar. Country music plays loud on the juke box. The bartender is friendly and accommodating. I got a vodka tonic and my husband grabbed an Elysian IPA. The drinks were refreshing. The total tab was $6.50! They do not serve food except for frozen pizzas and bag chips. They offer free pool on Tuesdays and Thursday's.

There is a family side dining room as well as the other side of the building appears to be a 21+ bar. The family side Had a decent amount of seating. We ordered a variety of items, including the BLT, which was very tasty on sourdough, they were willing to make me a grilled chicken tenders instead of fried along with their shoestring french fries, very tasty. The kids were pretty happy with the mac & cheese, although it looks like it was just Kraft- And they split one of the grilled cheese, which looked amazing. We had one order of pizza as well- it is a hand tossed crust versus thin. And the ham and cheese grill was also very good. Service was pretty slow, but when we told them we were trying to get to the show they picked up the pace a bit this place has been here for a long time, so I'm not sure why it doesn't already have a Yelp profile but I did go ahead and add one because this should be on your radar if you are anywhere near Lebanon. I appreciate the fact you're willing to make me something not fried :) The menus they have posted online do not match the menus that are in store as one person from our group was specifically looking for fried mushrooms from a prior menu It is worth a visit if you like comfort bar food!

The breadsticks were amazing, crunchy on the outside with the right amount of butter and garlic. The inside was hot and soft. I hope the new owner keeps this on the menu! Give it a try!
