I tried this place for the first time. I've heard about the good food and it did not disappoint. Unfortunately, my phone died before I could get photos. I had the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich and it was excellent. The prices are very reasonable too. It came with a side and they have multiple choices. The sandwich was huge but manageable. I just got home from eating at Dooleys O' Tooles for the first and probably the last. The reasoning is not what you might think, the food was average to slightly above average. The staff is absolutely rude, granted they were busy but, rude is rude. I had a party of 8 and I spoke to the guy taking names at the door in which he stated the wait would be about 40-45 minutes, no problem as I showed up early before the rest of my group put my name in and told this guy that I would be straight up there in that seat at the bar. 40 minutes goes by and my group is there and one of my group asked about the wait and this guy (manager? don't really know) spoke loudly stating that he's been yelling for me for the past 10 minutes and that he almost gave my table away. Our waiter, nice guy, seems as if he tried hard but had zero common curtesy. Tenderloin Tuesday and my wife ordered a tenderloin which arrived with no bun? My wife ask about the lack of a bun and the waiter stated, "you didn't ask for a bun" and the to go box was brought to the table and was latterly handed to my wife 2-3 inches from her face. I don't know the actual distance because she had to lean back in her chair in order to not get this box jammed in her face. Of the 8 people in my group 2 people had the correct order. Visited Dooley O'Toole's for Hamilton County tenderloin Tuesday. You could get a large tenderloin sandwich plus one side for $11. Or, you could get a mini tenderloin sandwich +2 sides for $11. The tenderloins normally run about $14. I got the large tenderloin sandwich with fries. My wife got the mini tenderloin with chicken velvet soup and a side salad. The tenderloins come with your choice of lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and mayo. Both our tenderloins were delicious. The large was very large, I had to double it over to make a sandwich. We think they have one of the best tenderloins in the Indianapolis area. The fries were nice and crispy. While the salad was iceberg lettuce, it was crisp and fresh. My wife really liked the soup as well. The restaurant was busy given it was tenderloin Tuesday. However, our food was served quickly and was hot. They appeared to be short staffed, but the people that were there were really working hard. We sat in the bar area at the bar counter. My wife liked that they had hooks to hang her purse. Dooley O'Toole's in Carmel was a great experience. I ordered the Tenderloin Breakfast and it was full of flavor, really fresh and tasted amazing. The breading had good seasoning and the whole plate came together really well. I also had the clam chowder and it was so creamy and delicious that I finished it in a few seconds. It was exactly what I wanted. The place was packed with not an empty table in sight which says a lot about how popular it is. The ambience feels cozy and comforting. First time coming here for dinner even though I've lived in Carmel for a long time. The service was friendly and fast. Our table of five got seated within five minutes. I ended up getting the grilled salmon salad and it was very filling and delicious. Everyone in our party ate all of their meals. My husband's aunt who was visiting said her chicken Dijon salad was the best one she's ever had. My father-in-law ordered some cherry cobbler dessert with some vanilla ice cream and he let me try a bite, so yummy! My husband had the cajun chicken breast that was spicy hut yummy. Two things I enjoyed at this place: 1. The velvet chicken soup. It's creamy, smooth and flavorful. A cup is all you need if you're ordering an entreè. 2. The breaded tenderloin sandwich. It's so big you could literally ask for extra buns or bring your own. The pork meat is seasoned and has the right amount of crunch. This is a staple at Dooley's. Visited 2 days ago for the Hamilton County Tenderloin Tuesday. Wow!!! Parking lot was packed! Put our name in for a table for3 and it was 30 minutes. Workers were really hustling! I hadn't been there in 25 years and everything is exactly the same! The tenderloin was outstanding as it always was. One of the best around for sure. The servers were on it and friendly. The owner was there and oversaw the action. He got it right and is closed Saturday and Sunday because it's so good he can!!! Kudos to him. Haven't been here in more than 10 years. Place looked exactly the same. Only open weekdays so it's hard to get up there. We ordered fried biscuits with apple butter for appetizer. I rarely order appetizers but I have not had fried biscuits in ages. There were delicious! And note they give you a ton, if you can't eat them all the fried biscuits do reheat wonderfully in a toaster oven. For lunch we ordered pork tenderloin and soup of the day which was ham and beans. We went here for a work lunch/meeting. I will describe the place as very average. I would not describe the service as overly slow, but it definitely wasn't either. Had lunch at Dooley O'Toole's yesterday with my golf group. It was a Tuesday, so their special every Tuesday is a tenderloin sandwich with one side for $10.00. Our waitress was Laura and she was great. We all got the breaded tenderloins - this thing was so large you couldn't find the bun and hardly see the plate. This is a hand breaded tenderloin and was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If you like tenderloin sandwiches, you're going to love this one. I was told by some Indy natives that I should go and have a pork tenderloin sandwich and that Dooley O'Toole's has a good one. I had never had a pork tenderloin sandwich but they are a thing in Indy. I ordered expecting an ok experience but oh my it was really great. The fried pork tenderloin has the best aspects of chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak. It is a bit lighter like chicken fried chicken but also has the flavors and meatiness of a chicken fried steak. It was also the size of my head! It was so good! As I was trying to figure out where to pick up take out, and I realized it is Tuesday; I thought of the best place in town for a breaded tenderloin. Of course that's Dooley's! I've included a picture of my tenderloin with half a bun on top so you can see how big the tenderloin is. It's easily enough for two people or two meals. I chose the soup of the day for my side item ($1.00 upcharge). I was considering their chive ranch fries but they no longer offer those. The soup of the day is pulled pork, with bacon and beans. My first visit to Dooley O'Tooles was in early 1994 after I took a job at a factory nearby. Wow, Dooley O'Tooles has been around a long time. The city of Carmel has changed so much and now offers so many other dining options, but Dooley O'Tooles has remained the same great place for a beer and sandwich. Though Yelp didn't exist, I could write this exact same review in 1994 or 2020. That is meant to be a massive compliment to the business. After entering from the parking lot, there are dining rooms on each side with an elevated bar right in the center. The U-shaped bar with a classic wooden bar top with a rail has seating on three sides. Metal barstools with back support and a padded seat sit above a round brass footrest. There is additional seating on each side of the bar. What makes Dooley O'Tooles THE place for lunch are the sandwiches. They are absolutely delicious. In the winter, I also love their chili. In addition to the food, the service is the other reason to stop by. The waitresses are very friendly, and the bartenders are quick. God bless Dooley O'Tooles for staying true to who they are and remaining a staple in the city of Carmel. read more

This is a pretty decent bar & grill in Carmel. Not fancy so good for a casual meal. Kids are allowed in the dining area. Food was not bad. Typical bar food with some Irish items (Irish stew, fish & chips). Prices are pretty reasonable and there are daily drink and food specials. Table service in the bar was a little spotty. Waitress didn't ask how we wanted a steak done and couldn't really recommend any favorites. Entrees came out less than a minute after our salads hit the table. My husband and I came here because we were going to see a movie at Flix Brewhouse afterwards. We love a good Irish pub so it caught our eye on Yelp. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and attentive. Our food was delicious...my husband had the BLT which came on good looking multigrain bread that looked homemade. I had the sandwich combo which came with half a Reuben, soup and salad, all of which was delicious. Our overall experience was wonderful, the only downfall was that my husband Guiness draft beer was $9 which is quite outrageous. He would've never ordered it if he knew it was that expensive.
