Hamburger and mushrooms as a side.

We love getting take out from Sahms in the Village is West Clay. They have a large variety of food and our family loves it. They also have a coffee cake that is a must have if you want a dessert. I sometimes will get a salad, but more commonly it's a burger. Their burgers do not disappoint. My kids like the chicken tenders (appetizer) and the grilled cheese (kids meal). They also have meals for holidays tha you can pick up and bake at home. We've done their turkey meal more than once.

The staff at this location of Sahm's just can't get the service right. I returned this past week with a group of friends. The restaurant was very busy for Tenderloin Tuesday specials. We had a number of issues: 1. Food runner brought out several plates and, instead of directly giving me my soup, passed it down the table. There were three sets of hands on my bowl of soup before I received it. Yuk. 2. My salad delivered and I had no utensils. No one checked on us so I sat and waited, finally I went and retrieve utensils on my own. 3. No one ever refilled our water glasses. 4. When checking out, there is no itemized bill, just a total. The folks who ordered the special were mischarged. Thank goodness one of our group noticed and server fixed the mistake. 5. Checking out required handling of one (dirty) payment device. Why isn't this cleaned between people? Yuk! 6. A couple of us wanted to-go boxes. Our server came with the boxes held up open against his dirty shirt. Really? I don't understand why this staff can't do a better (cleaner) job. In terms of the food: Alaskan Clam Chowder - ok Cobb Salad - flavorless lettuce, mealy tomato, dry chicken. The avocado was good. Pork Tenderloin - large, but flavorless. I won't be back.

This is a really nice spot in Carmel. I was in the bar area which has a lot of indoor seats. The bartenders were friendly and fast. I had the seedless margarita which was great and the and chicken avocado quesadilla, it was a huge, yummy portion! I had to get a to go box for most of it. I need to go back again soon.

Overall, was a good experience at the restaurant, but nothing out of the park to write home about. We were quickly seated when we got it- the space is much smaller than I would have expected. The design didn't give off "ale house" rather than "metro diner" in my opinion. We were greeted by our waitress, who did a good job throughout the night despite being busy. We started off with the cheese curds. Solid choice, with the ranch being a nice addition. I got the steak sandwich for my meal- the steak on it wasn't the best (I knew not to expect anything super high quality), but was a little disappointed in it. The fries were mediocre as well. Overall, I think I would go back here if someone invited me, but don't think I would personally ever intentionally return.

The steak was so salty that I had to spit it out. This place is like an Applebees. Don't go here. Better off eating at home. And it's dirty. The waitress used a gross rag to spread more germs on the table.

Wow. What is happening here?!!. Came here for lunch today. Ordered the stir fry with chicken and rice on the side. Tomato basil soup (special) as my side. They delivered the special corned beef soup - they were actually out of tomato basil. It actually wasn't bad. My stirfry arrived with beef. The remake came on top of the rice. I was gonna just make the best but the "salt chef" was back again and it was inedible. Waitress seemed pretty nonchalant about it. And offered no real apology. Wow.

Breaded tenderloins with spicy cauliflower and corn casserole.

Have been to Sahm's Ale House for happy hour a number of times and decided to go there for lunch. Was pleased with the breaded tenderloin. This is Indiana and you take them for granted until you get a disappointing one which I did a few weeks ago at another restaurant. This one was an A. Bread was fresh, the pickles crunchy, and the tomatoes were as good as you are going to get in April. What sent this lunch apart were the sides. I ordered the corn casserole (My wife loves corn casserole) but she decided on the spicy garlic breaded cauliflower (Think buffalo wings) so I opted, as the hero I am, to order the corn casserole so my wife would not be denied. Both were a welcome change from the standard French fries. Service was good. Outside seating was nice.

    CHICKEN APPLE ORCHARD
    Natalie W.

Overall, service was speedy and friendly but food is below average. Had the chicken apple orchard salad where the description says "shaved" brussel sprouts. Instead, these were big chunks of brussel sprouts, making it very hard to eat and digest. The salad was also watery from the vinaigrette and sprouts.

Dirty cup with a lip print that isn't mine. I drank off the straw only.

I was greeted instantly. My server was GREAT. She was very friendly and had cute Christmas nails. Most of my fries were cold while my cauliflower was piping hot. My hot food came out before the salad so I packed the salad to go. I wasn't automatically given a piece of cake until I asked for it. My cup was dirty and I didn't pay it any attention until I was halfway done. I would've given 3 stars but I did mention to my server that my fries were cold and she took them off my bill. I appreciated her for listening even though I told her that I don't like complaining or sending food back. Her response was, I had to make it right. The bathroom was also clean.

For that reason, The Goat got in trouble by the city a while back, and was shut down for a time. But then it reopened, and now it seems to be minding its Ps and Qs, for the most part. You will know you're at The Goat when you see a big American flag flapping in the breeze outside of the restaurant. You'll also know you're at The Goat when you spot the Donald Trump beer tap handle at the bar. OK! They must really like the movie "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" here. There really is a place for everyone, and I somehow found myself in this place. But you know what? I got nothing but love (or like, really) for The Goat. My experience was great. The service was excellent. The beer, wine and spirits list was outstanding. The music they were playing was nice (heck yeah to whoever chose to play mid-90s Incubus, Bush and Marcy Playground.) I'm the type of person who goes to a dive-ish bar and orders wine, and the kind people at The Goat didn't even blink, and poured me a nice, generous glass. Fine, two glasses. If you're the kind of person who drinks bourbon, your heart will start beating faster when you step into The Goat. They have an amazing bourbon list. On Wednesdays, they do $12 pours of select bottles, some of which are $100+ per bottle. So, you can try out some top-shelf bourbon at a decent price. Mark your calendar for Wednesdays at The Goat, if you're into bourbon. My visit was just for drinks with a small party, and we didn't try any of the food. But we got a variety of drinks among us, including red wine, beer, straight bourbon and blueberry cider. They have a lot of different types of alcohol to please an adult palate. Speaking of adults, this place is 21+ only!

And when they finally did, she made us pay before she ever served a drink. Not only that, it took nearly 30 minutes to complete our drink order. The worst part is that the bartender forgot one of our drinks and we were told she only charged us for two drinks instead of three which was a flat out lie. Especially since we had a long drawn out conversation about her inability to change the alcohol type in one of our drinks because it's premixed, you'd think she would remember. Sadly, no. We should have left then but were there for a watch party. So we ended up reordering and paying again for the missing drink. We moved to a different area of the bar and still experienced subpar service. Nearly every staff member in this place had the look on their faces like everyone was an inconvenience to them. Not one smile. Very limited interaction. And overall, extremely poor customer service. I would not recommend! Cherry on top: when you pay, they have the unmitigated gall to have the tip increments go from 22-30%. Not a one person who "served" us worked to deserve a tip of that magnitude. And I'm saying this as a very generous tipper! Never again....which I'm sure they don't mind since it's clear they don't care.

The BBQ poutine fries were so big on the tray that I felt a little ostentatious as I was carrying the tray back to my table. It felt like all of the food on my tray surely should have been going to a family. But no: All of these BBQ poutine fries were just for one gluttonous person (me). Every so often, I would get an enormous fry that was way bigger than the others. It was more like a steak fry! It was like a little baked potato. It was nice to have that variety in the appetizer (which I was treating like an entree because, again, I was eating this giant appetizer by myself without shame). One of my children opted to get the kids meal here, which is the mac & cheese with a side (he chose fries). The mac & cheese is cavatappi pasta, so it's that pleasing curly texture that kids love (my kid loved it). We sat at a high top table in the bar. Our server, Bailey (the bartender), was friendly and super attentive. She made recommendations and kept glasses filled. I had the Espresso Martini which came with roasted coffee beans floating on top. My cocktail went down easy. I also had a glass of the Berringer Chardonnay. The pour is generous. We shared a plate of Loaded Tots, which was wonderful. The tots are made from scratch in-house and covered with roasted bits of pork belly, cheese, a sauce and green onions. We LOVED the tots, which came out super hot. We also shared a plate of the Loaded Hummus. The plate is beautiful and colorful.
