A gob bunch in leaps with lots of bountiful interesting food choices here in 2026. I won't lie, the traffic is living in someone else's nightmare or a ground hog's day of a horror flick. Big YIKES. Very very congested. If only the Greenwood IN (USA) engineers would say heya fellas, how's about doing it this way, k?!?Tho the roundabout on Smith Valley/Old Merdian is a literal question mark octopus whatever as you approach it. All with zero ways out beforehand, Upon facing multiple options in a you know what show once you arrive for those options isn't as fun as one might think. Why folks become illiterate behind the wheel of a car is a thing I do try to avoid ;). Anywho...back to Ford's Garage in Avon. To suggest it was great is quite the understatement. I ordered not with DoorDash but called this establishment for my own peace of mindfulness. Bison Burger with fries. Ready in 15 minutes is what was told to me. WOW to Ford. I see now why Ford's are built FORD tough. It is toughfanfabulousawesome inside. Chevy who? For REAL. The ladies' room is where I'd love to camp. Seriously, the design/deco should be in all campsites. The recycling alone is where I felt the true grit of Ford's vision. Back to the meal...since it was my lunch before a yoga class, I took my lunch to Carmel, IN (USA). As I'm trying my best to depict how juicy, tender, & zero what's that I'm chewing on in a typical hamburger wasn't a thing for me, simply won't suffice. It was still warm & freaking delicious. TBH, the standard of bison reminded me of a restaurant in Custard Park. SD (USA), Ford's prolly better. Why? Bc I ate this burger yesterday, Custard Park was last year ;). The fixings is what I found most delightful. Ford's bison burger is a perfect blend of deliciousness. Exactly crafted by a staple of our beautiful country, America...became inspiring to this Hoosier. The atmosphere at Fords Garage was inviting and nostalgic! Lots of quotes from Henry Ford and the bathroom sink was a gas pump nozzle and a tire! We had burgers which were amazing! I had the estate burger that hit every taste bud with joy! Our waitress topped off our experience! She helped us find the best on the menu and had a smile that made us feel like family! WORST FOOD SO FAR!!! When this first place first opened the food was phenomenal. The staff was amazing and everything was top-notch, but every visit since has gone downhill. The last three visits I've had to send my fries back as they have been cold even when they bring them back out a second time it's almost like they're not even getting them fresh out of the grease. I don't know what it is, but they're definitely are not cooked fresh. Today i went for lunch with my parents to celebrate my mom's 79th birthday. I ordered the Parmesan fries as I always do and again I had to send them back, my dad mentioned near the end of the meal that his tator tots were still half frozen as I asked him how come he only ate a few of them my dad unfortunately is not the one to complain about any meal unfortunately he only ate half of his burger as well. He was disappointed. My chicken sandwich also was a little under and needed to be cooked a little longer once I got towards the middle. We ultimately left half of our food on each of our plates. Very sad. Their service was also lacking. Our waiter first arrived at the table dripping with sweat, his shirt was soaking as well, he mentioned he was hot but goodness. the place wasn't even that busy, but he never came around to ask if we needed any refills or to even see if our food was OK I had to track him down just to get my fries replaced. I know I won't rush to go back and hopefully they get things together soon or else they won't last in Avon as there are way too many excellent chicken places to choose from. Ordered fish and chips for takeout tonight. Fish was great. Really good. Staff was super friendly. I worked in restaurants for a lot of years, and I know how hard it is to be positive at the the end of a long shift. There was one issue. I should have opened the bag before I left. I got American style potato chips instead of what I was expecting. That's on me. I should have said fries. Had my ketchup ready to go and got a bit of a shock when I opened the bag. Not hating. Would still recommend. Like I said, the fish was really good. I very rarely post reviews. The only reason I am posting this one is for the public. When you are ordering, just say fries instead of chips. It's not their fault. Ford's is not an English or Irish pub. They've got a lot of young people working there who are doing their best, but they're not mind readers. What's really funny is they actually ended up doing me a favor. I'm full with just the fish. First time visitor. Had a 630 reservation, place was packed but my party of four was quickly seated to a large corner booth. Felt like a VIP already! Our server, Raven was a rock star and our party shared with the manager what a fine job she did. Despite a full house we were able to converse fine. Enjoyed the automotive theme ambiance. Note that it was one large fish filet and not multiple pieces like you'd see elsewhere. The margarita was refreshing and well needed after a long day. I am in from out of town and saw the restaurant and had to go. I was not disappointed, having been to the original location in Florida I knew I wanted to try this one. I was seated right away and the waitress came right over. I got the 6 appetizer onion rings, a mushroom Swiss burger and it was cooked perfectly. Then thankful for being an adult, could not finish the burger but knew I wanted the funnel fries with the Carmel sauce. Everything was so good. My husband and I were excited to try out this new restaurant in the Avon area. Wait was about thirty minutes, which isn't bad considering it was a Friday evening. Out in front of the restaurant is an old Ford car, which if I knew my cars I could tell you the model,but instead I will just list the photo. Inside the alls are decorated with various parts and signage as well as a suspended truck from the ceiling. There must have been several birthdays since they kept coming through the restaurant with singing. I ordered a salad which had grilled shrimp on it and was really good! I first noticed that Ford's Garage was landing in Avon, Indiana during one of my weekend jaunts to Putnam County while my father was in hospice. In the subsequent weeks and since I'm now cleaning out his home after his passing, I've seen Ford's Garage open up and pretty much be packed every time I pass by it. I've been wanting to step, but given my weird emotional state I'll admit that crowds just aren't my thing right now. Today, I spent a few hours in Putnam County and decided I was in the mood for a good meal and good service as the stuff I packed away was particularly emotional. I contemplated Danville's Mayberry Cafe, however, decided to give Ford's a try. I arrived in the late afternoon. It was crowded, however, the slightly off time paid off and it seemed like it was workable. As a wheelchair user, I often gauge stopping somewhere on the availability of accessible parking. I saw a couple spots open. So, I finally stopped. If you don't know, Ford's Garage is a relatively new and growing national chain. It started in 2012 in Florida (a mile from Henry Ford's winter home). It's a burgers-and-brew joint with a retro vibe and a classic 20's service station decor. There's typically an older car out front and lots of fun decor inside. Heck, even the front door handles are gas pump shaped. Ford's is currently in eight states and this Avon location is Indiana's second spot after Noblesville. As you enter, there's a hosting area. There are plenty of seats for waiting including those outside. There are photo ops to be found here. The dining room areas include tables, half-booths, a bar area, and likely something else I'm missing. I was seated quickly at a four-top. It was roomy and I noticed the flooring made it easy to move a chair. Nice touch. The menu is pretty much classic bar-and-grill fare. I've been tempted to try the meatloaf or fish-and-chips, however, I really dig their burgers and typically go that direction. Read the menu - some sandwiches come with chips, burgers with their seasoned fries. You can always upgrade and they do have other sides. I'll be honest. I was leaning toward a 4-star. The food was good, the atmosphere was good (loud, as usual), and everything was fine. That extra spark, the 5-star spark, just was missing. But, well, Hannah. Hannah was my server and she completely nailed it. She was friendly, professional, attentive, and quite honestly the kind of service I needed after an emotional day. She brought my always desired unsweetened iced tea refill without my asking - then, she offered a to go up when it appeared I might be done before the tea was gone. She anticipated needs and met those needs perfectly. Quite simply, she was impressive. Oh, and I have to say that she has the perfect voice for a 20's vibed burger joint. She reminded me of Bernadette Peters (a compliment, in case you're wondering). Just a delight. So yeah, Hannah was the 5-star spark. Ford's pleasantly surprised me on two fronts. I was fully expecting this to be another Family restaurant chain serving mediocre food ....and since it was new I was expectring service to be subpar. I was delighted that neither of those was the case. Service was fast and friendly. My drink order was taken within 30 seconds of sitting at the bar. I had a nice Old Fashioned as I took in the surrounding atmosphere of auto memorobilia. The menu is the same kind of stuff you find at Applebees or Fridays...but its a little elevated beyond that. Sandwiches, burgers, salads, finger food. I got the black and blue burger which was a huge hand formed patty on a pretzel bun with blue cheese and bacon. Yum. Pretzel bun should be the default vessel for all burgers in my opinion. And can we all give a bug Hallelueh to the State of Indiana for finally coming their senses and allowing for Happy Hours? This place has the look for sure with a pretty good fit and finish interior. Pretty good sized seating including the big booth areas for a bigger group. The menu is pretty expansive, food comes out looking great but other than that my hamburger really lacked any standout flavors. Also at our table someone ordered up a streak and it also looked the part but really didnt have any seasoning taste or even some wood smoke flavor. Maybe it was an off night i am not sure so i will have to try this out again next time i am around and see how things are. Such a fun and delicious spot! The restaurant had cool Ford memorabilia, auto parts, vintage signage, even a full car with rotating tires. Our server was so nice and attentive, which made the experience even better. We all ordered from the $12.99 lunch menu, I love a deal! I shared the Chicken Henry with potatoes and the sauce was amazing and then the Firestone Shrimp wrap with chips, which had a nice spicy kick. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and checked on us often to make sure we had plenty of water. She recommended the Chicken Henry lunch special, which one of my friends got and raved about. I had a cobb salad- it was a huge portion size for what you pay for and the ingredients were all really fresh. We stumbled into the soft opening of this place today by happenstance's and it was a wonderful experience. The staff informed us that it was actually their soft opening and not their actual opening night. We were told that if we didn't have a reservation we could still stay but would have to sit at the bar if seats were available. Seats were available and our entire meal was free! They had a smaller menu and only asked that we not order the same items just to give the cooks an opportunity to practice. We even got a dessert. Everything was free except the alcohol. I got the A Modle burger with fries and my husband got the Swiss mushroom burger and fries. We thought they both were delicious and made well. The service was amazing Cass at the bar was our server and the building was very pleasant. We will definitely go back to enjoy the patio and food. Happy to have this so close to where we live.
