House Salad
Karen O.

Came to celebrate my birthday dinner and get a piece of their delicious Carrot Cake, it's so good. I was pleasantly surprised to see a birthday card waiting on the table for me. I ordered the Tuscan Chicken which is one of my favorite dishes here. I love the creamy sauce and the blend of flavors from the mushrooms, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. We sat in the bar and enjoyed the TV's and watching the bar tender make fancy drinks in their upscale decorated bar. Hubs got the Bourbon Street dish with shrimp, andouille sausage and chicken over noodles. Their house salad and bread is also delicious and I always love to start the meal with

Decided to meet family here for an early dinner on the west side. Charbonos never disappoints. We started with their yummy fresh bread loaf with seasoned oil for dipping. Today I had the tortolloni carbonara which was plentiful and delicious. Our server was helpful and friendly and attentive in keeping our drinks filled. We got a spacious corner both which was perfect for a group of 5.

I went to Charbonos a couple weeks ago with my husband and enjoyed the food! We've been here a couple times and they are consistently good! I had the salmon that was perfectly cooked and my husband the pork chop and he loved it. We had the brownie sundae and it was just unbelievable! The staff is very nice, and check on you regularly. Unfortunately, last time we went it took them 25 minutes to come get our order. They apologized for the delay, and offered appetizer or dessert on the house, which was really nice, but definitely something that can be improved. The ambiance is pleasant and the style of the restaurant is unique, which I like :) There are a lot of parking spots, I recommend making a reservation ahead of time because it is regularly busy!

Located in Avon, the inside definitely has a Mediterranean feel. Our server was very attentive and gave us good recommendations as to what to order. Started off with the calamari appetizer. The squid was seasoned well and not too chewy. Two dipping sauces: a lemon aioli and marinara sauce rounded out this starter. I ordered the shrimp scampi. The sauce was a creamier than my preference but the flavor more than made up for it. The shrimp was fairly large and not over cooked. The desert was a bread pudding with peach sauce and ice cream. This was enough for two people and not overly sweet. Great dining experience!

Capri Salmon Salad, blackened

The quality of the food and service at Charbonos is consistent with other Cunningham restaurants. Both are always good here. They have a variety of entrees on the menu for everyone, but my favorite is the Capri Salmon salad. Every time I've had it, it's so fresh and crisp, with some good briny flavor from the capers and olives. Charbonos complimentary bread and oil always hits the spot. The staff at this location is friendly and efficient. My one complaint is that it's a bit of a depressing ambiance here. It's dark with outdated decor. A refresh would go a long way to spruce up the dining experience.

Excellent view and excellent service! The drinks were also incredible. We had a great waitress, Macy, and any questions we had she made sure were answered in detail. She was very attentive to our table and the other ones she had (I definitely noticed). We had the Italian wedding soup, Chicken Piccata and the Bourbon Street and they were both outstanding and slight customizations we wanted were done too. Very cozy environment for a date or get together with family or friends. There's also a large side room for bigger parties . Their bread was VERY good too. Definitely a place to check out! They are also part of the Cunningham family so the level of service and food quality is above par.

Seafood scampi on special

Went to Charbonos this evening as a last minute dinner outing, with our group of 5. We got seated right away, and had amazing service. We enjoyed calamari as our appetizer, and of course the fresh bread. The seafood scampi that was on special was to die for. Overall the experience was very pleasant as this was our first time back here in probably 10 years. Thank you to the wonderful staff for providing us with a great dining experience

Crispy Calamari

Took a 30 min. drive to Avon and was not disappointed. We were seated immediately, and our server was attentive. Started with the calamari that was crispy and well seasoned. The Bourbon Street Pasta was excellent full of shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage, but a little spicy. Finished the meal with a slice of white chocolate peach bread pudding, a flavorful concoction of and pure decadence.

Dinner with a friend tonight and Charbono's did not disappoint! It has been awhile since my last visit and I was happy to see it that it was much as I remembered. The decor is calming and a bit on the dark side. The two of us took a table in the bar and each ordered a Chardonnay - sorry that I don't recall the name but it was very nice. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza - and my friend ordered the Salmon salad. Staff was attentive and our food was out pretty quick. My pizza was very good - lots of chicken, bacon and sauce. Why I thought I could handle a whole pizza I have no clue - but I brought home the leftovers. My friend enjoyed her salad as well. The Cunningham group knows its stuff - Charbono's has generally been a dependable choice on the far west side.

Chicken Fettuccine

I've been to this place a couple of times already but was my first one of 2023. We had some fettuccine pasta and a nice smoked pork chop with veggies and baked potato. The ambiance is really nice for an Avon restaurant and the food is affordable yummy and flavorful. I forgot To take a picture of the bread and oil they give as a on-the house appetizer it's literally my favorite part of going there. Service is pretty good there!

The food is AMAZING they have a huge menu with good things. The service is ok, it does take awhile for the food but it is worth it. The ambiance is nice, they have pretty decorations.

I tried the chicken Parmesan and it was the best I've tasted in a while. Must go back and support this restaurant.

Then we waited to be noticed by the wait staff. And we waited, and waited. It took 17 minutes before anyone came to our table. We would have left but we had a $50 gift certificate to use. Finally someone came over. We ordered teas & an appetizer of flaming saganaki. We found it very tasty. For entered I ordered the Greek meatball sandwich. My wife got a cup of egg lemon bowl ( which is a soup she loves) & Keftethes ( with beef meatballs). I found the fries god & the meatballs & bread decent but the sauce was a little off to me which greatly reduced my enjoyment. It was just ok. My wife thought the soup was a bit thin but overall god with a strong lemon flavor. Her entree the meatballs were good, the green beans were cold & the roasted potatoes were decent. Overall she was meh. We ordered desserts to go. Baklava, Galaktoboureko ( custard in philo dough) & Oreo cake. Wife thought the baklava had an overpowering cinnamon taste which hurt it. The Galaktoboureko was basically sugar cream pie with philo crust. I thought it was ok but wife thought it should have been thinner. She also believes the to go containers aren't sufficient for these desserts due to the sugar syrup. The "Oreo cake" had one cookie to the side & was dry. When we gave the waitress our gift certificate she said they would take that off when they rang up the bill. She came back & the gift certificates were not taken off. I pointed this out to her & she went back to talk to whoever is running the register. When she came back she said she has no idea what's going on but they gave me a $50 bill to credit the $50 in gift certificates. My amazing wife surmised that they credited someone else's bill & gave us the $50 to make it right for us. Bottom line is all the staff we interacted with were friendly but the restaurant is very disorganized. Food was just ok. Can't say we were impressed.

Our server Emily was cheerful and informative. A parking garage across the street served us well for dining at this restaurant and attending an event at Hendricks Live across the street. The shrimp cocktail appetizer featured fresh large shrimp with dollops of horseradish on the plate and a nice sauce. I enjoyed the steak frites entree, a generous portion of steak perfectly cooked, served with a delicious broccolini and tasty fries. My sister ordered the chicken marsala and noted that she would have liked more sauce, and the truffle potatoes were delicious. My brother said his huge pork chop was perfect, and my sister in-law recommended the sirloin steak. We had reservations and were seated at a high top table, which is not my preferred way to dine but the restaurant was full so we didn't ask to be moved. We had a bit of a wait for our entrees and chalked that up to it being Saturday night. There is a separate bar area and rooftop dining with igloos available.

Eh, fell a bit short for me…read more The ambiance and vibes are great! Service was great as well!! The food is where it fell short for me. I drove an hour to visit this place and saw lots of good reviews. I started off with a lemon drop and a snack short rib eggroll. The lemon drop was watery and just did not hit like I would have hoped (I'm a lemon drop girly). They do use Titos as their well so that was good. The egg roll was dry- you definitely need to dip in the wasabi aioli to make it palatable. Next up were the buffalo chicken hush puppies. I like the idea here. The inside was moist and flavorful and the outside was kind of dry and drizzled with what I think was ranch. They were ok. I have a Ceaser salad add chicken and "fried" Brussels sprouts. The salad was suppose to come the onions , there were none so the waitress brought me some. The salad was mid at best and the chicken was dry and unflavored. I asked for some spicy ranch and that saved the salad! The Brussels sprouts were pretty good. My friend had the potato soup and said it was very watery (not creamy at all). I enjoyed the live music and overall vibe but good was average. Parking is an issue as well. There is parking in the rear or a parking garage but not super convenient parking.
