We stopped by the Applebee's in Avon for an early dinner. It wasn't busy at all, but the service was still pretty slow. I figured since it was quiet things would move faster, but the staff was just taking their time. It wasn't a huge deal, just a bit of a wait for a slow afternoon. The food was definitely the best part. We had shared the Bacon Cheddar Chicken Sandwich and the Big Classic Bacon Cheeseburger with fries, and both were great. My husband is ordered Cosmic Wings today, which I guess is an add-on to Applebee's, that you can only get through doordash or other ordering apps. We had never seen this wing spot pop up on our doordash before, but if we knew it was Applebee's, we would have NOT ordered from here. First things first, we ordered a "platter of waffle fries" and received 9 fries. Flimsy, soggy, and overall not appetizing. I have no idea why they refer to it as a platter. They should call it an order of small waffle fries. I called about this, because I've never been so disappointed to literally see 9 fries, and the person I was speaking to said they weigh the fries. She couldn't confirm how much comes with the platter. But she did say they measure 0.5oz of fries. Just super disappointing. Secondly, the wings were not all that at all. I got the Buffalo, they just tasted fatty. There wasn't a lot of good meat. It just felt like flab. They also were not very appetizing, just low quality freezer wings. No crisp. My husband got the hot Cheeto wings, and he said they sucked. The Cheetos were crushed so much it left no crunch to the wing itself. Overall, not worth it. Spent 30 dollars for crappy wings & 9 waffle fries. Definitely do not recommend! It's also a bit irritating that they did not disclose that this was Applebee's. So this is our go to every weekend! The bartender Sergio IS THE BEST!!! He knows our drinks and starts making them when we walk in the door! I love strawberry mojitos and have tried to get a good one just about everywhere but only Sergio can make them so good and perfect like they should be!! Sergio always waits on us - if he isn't working we don't and won't go! We go to relax after a hard week of work and enjoy being able to drink, eat, relax, talk and be mostly left alone to enjoy our food and meal. I have been coming to Applebee's bar and Grill half an hour for years and I've loved their food and their service

I was driving around this evening and it dawned on me that you can now eat in a restaurant again. I drove down 36 looking at parking lots as I dint want somewhere too crowded an Applebee's didn't look too bad. Went in and was greeted by the hostesses. They have done an excellent job here with mitigation. Many tables are not in use to keep diners as far away as possible. They have paper menus etc. I didn't have too many concerns. So on to a nice beer. The waitress said they didn't have all the taps back on from the closure so Miller light was great. They offered the ever popular two for deals. My wife and I got two 8 oz steaks appetizer and two sides for $27.00 not a bad deal. Service was great. The onion rings were surprisingly good. Hadn't had them before. However I found it odd as served with BBQ dipping sauce. Still oddly tasted good, but usually I like the spicy ranch wit( fried onion rings. The steak wasn't bad. It was a god size and a good quality, well trimmed. Nice grill marks. Its not on the menu but you can ask for grilled mushrooms which I recommend. Mashed potatoes were really good as well. The macaroni and cheese while a more higher level approach missed the mark. Macaroni was made separate which makes it not taste as good as a backed casserole approach. Didn't have a cheese sauce per se in it. It wasn't bad just an underachiever. I left full and happy to be able to enjoy eating out again. read more

I was there this evening with 3 others We waited forever for our food. Received it cold. Ordered a sizzling steak skillet that was served cold on a plate, Ordered the three cheese HONEY mac n cheese and received a room tempertature penne pasta dish with 2 small chicken strips on it when I told the waitress I hot the wrong food, she said no thats the honey mac n cheese, then told me they were put of the sauce required to make the dish & brought me a side of alfredo sauce. Wow if you do not have the ingredients to make a dish then do not offer it or st least tell your customer ahead of time dont just make up some dish to serve in its place & then charge full price. TERRIBLE!!! I ordered earlier in day for delivery at 7:00pm. At 7:30 I tried calling but call kept ending! Then web page crashed. Tracker for door dash showed her driving up roads and turning around!! We are very easy to locate!! She arrived at 7:55!! The fish and fries were cold, and fries were actually soggy from getting wet from rain!! I had to recook everything. If I had wanted to be in the kitchen, I would NOT have wanted to "eat out"!! Always a pet peeve when you put your name in and wait for some time while there are multiple empty booths and tables. Let alone the two hostesses were not very friendly. One had back facing the door and all the waiting guests the entire time. Told a 15 minute wait, but was 30. Now the positive. So my boyfriend and I was having a small date night and decided to go here due to the jolly rancher margaritas. This store was out in Avon and was relatively the same as every Applebee's I've been to, TVs with sports, a bar, packed mainly with families and standard food. However, what makes me write this review is the customer service was on point. The hostess was so nice and our server Dani was the right amount of attentive. We left in a timely fashion when we're done and the traffic had died down outside. All staff was really pleasant and opened doors on the way out. I was so surprised and my boyfriend said if they had been any more accommodating they would've driven us home. Lolz. We were told multiple times we'd have to be kicked out to sit another party, which was borderline disrespectful. The only reason this is getting a two star is because of the waitress. Half of the food was so overly salted that someone with no issues could have a heart attack or something after eating the food. Over all the worst part is when I was served a raw hamburger. I asked for it to be well done. I cut in to it and it was still pink so I sent it back to be cooked longer. But when I got it back and took a bite out of it the sides I had cut in half where raw. Talked to the manager and didn't have to pay for my raw meat :/ but he had no concern over that I was served raw meat. Have not been to an Applebee's for a while and never to this location. This one is really nice clean seemed newer, and had a fun vibe. We had a $25 gift card and were excited to try the place. We sat at the bar and some of the service online reviews were scary but we were very well attended to by a real pro who was knowledgeable super friendly and just knew how to take good care of us. Did not remember Applebee's being so commercial before; there were signs for deals everywhere- for a minute I thought we were at a very nice Arby's. The food was good though and aside from looking more like a fast food chain than I remember, the vibe was really upbeat and fun. Then we checked out, and not that it was terribly high but for dinner and a bevg, it was high enough for sticker shock when you think of Applebee's. I spoke to someone else who recently had the same comment so I think it's a real thing. I have long been a fan of Applebee's. But this Avon store is just terrible. We have tried it a few times, in part because the kids get certificates for kids' meals as part of the summer reading program at the library. They want to use their rewards, so we oblige. The service is routinely slow and has little knowledge of the menu. On our most recent visit, our food took at least 30 minutes to arrive, and then it was at least 10 minutes later for the final dish to arrive. By a generous estimate the restaurant is 1/4 full. Add 4:52 the lady finally came out a different lady finally came out and had my food. As I am now going to the hospital because my granddaughter is in the hospital. My dad loves this Applebee's. So, against my better judgement but to make my dear old dad happy, we went to the Avon Applebee's tonight for dinner. There really isn't anything negative that I can say about tonight's dining experience. The restaurant was quite neat and spotless, actually squeaky clean. The service was really good. We were greated upon entering and had the door held open for us, we were promptly seated and told the name of our server-to-be, our server was friendly, helpful and courteous. Our food arrived pretty quickly and we both enjoyed our sandwich orders and the french fry sides. My dad's burger with bacon, pepper jack cheese and a chipotle sauce really looked good. I have always been disappointed with chain restaurant burgers but I would definitely give this one a try. My sandwich of slow roasted shredded beef with jalapeno cole slaw and fried onion strings/straws(?) was pretty tasty but I wish I'd ordered the bbq sauce on the side because it was a little overpowering. In conclusion, this Applebee's is pretty decent for a chain restaurant. Tip: The $3.29 house margarita served in a tall beer glass isn't too shabby for a daily drink special. read more

Stopped here on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner with my wife and my mother. There wasn't much of a crowd, so it was a great atmosphere to visit. The food was good, if pricey. Basically what you'd expect from any Applebee's. But the service really stood out. Christina R. is an AWESOME waitress. Accurate, attentive, friendly, prompt... she really makes her customers feel welcome and cared for. Her service changed this review from a 3 or 4 star to a 5 star. Everything else was mostly okay. It was fairly clean and the food was good and prepared well. The owners/management do need to do something about some of the tables. It looks like some kids have managed to literally carve out sections of some of the table tops, leaving large, rough wood-grain patches. It's a great argument for bringing back spanking, but nobody wants to get a splinter in their arm while trying to eat a nice meal. The tables need refinished, and, if possible, the parents of the kids who did it should have to pay for it. Again, Christina's excellent service still overshadowed the few tables being scratched up.
