It was a Saturday and it was pretty busy. We used their online waitlist system which was great! I submitted our size of our party and we got an estimated wait time of 10 minutes which was spot-on. The decor was pretty standard- neon lights with a cabin-like feel. The food was exactly would you would expect from a place like this. Nothing fancy, but still good. The service was what surprised me. Kendall was our server and she was very pleasant. She was attentive and very upbeat despite being super busy. I'm not sure if the server Naomi we had was new or she thought we weren't going to tip, but her service was not good at all. It was just my son and I there to have a quick birthday dinner for him. The only time she came and checked on us was when she gave us the check, I had to keep flagging her down for things, I had to ask her for a refill drink for him and more rolls that I asked her to bring when we got our food. I wanted another margarita, but she never came back until she handed me the check. I went to the atm and got a $20 just to tip our waiter or waitress, anytime I feel like I have to bother you to do your job that $20 goes out the window. I only spent $49.00 on our meals and drinks. So $5 tip she got for me having to bother her to do her job. She needs to do better next time and the manager came over there and I gave her the feedback, but she gave me the same BS we give our customers so she was not believable at all. I called ahead of time and spoke with Leah, which is the manager, to see if they could do something special as this is a milestone birthday and the first birthday since my momma passed away. I go to Texas Roadhouse a lot and have always had an excellent service, but today was a different story. We had a large party (9) so I do have to say I appreciated being seated right away, however we would have happily waited in order for our party to be seated together as I was told earlier over the phone instead of two separate tables; this should have been discussed prior to seating. There was a lot of staff working up front creating a bit of a traffic jam there and we didn't feel that we were getting great communication as they were more involved with their own conversation than addressing the customers with helpful information. Our waiter was Brad, bless his heart he seemed a bit overwhelmed. He was very polite but forgot a few things and didn't know the menu/food prep specifics very well. One of our members was allergic to gluten and dairy, we had an extensive 20-minute conversation about options during which he had to make several trips to the kitchen to ask, after which she was still served a butter dollop on top of her meal as well as a side of garlic butter despite her meal being marked "dairy allergy". This is, unfortunately, absolute negligence. Thank you for not charging her for her meal, but the experience overall was quite unpleasant. Additional items would include music too loud we couldn't hear each other at the same table much less having our party split between two tables, as well as my steak order for medium rare was received medium and another well done burger order was received medium rare. Also, they were out of prime rib by 5pm, seems a bit early to be out of something on a busy weekend day. Recommendations: 1. Train hostess staff to place priority on the guest and offer clear, informative communication and direction. Let customers know "Let me check on that, I'll be right back with you" or let a group know if they'll need to be split up to be seated or give them the option to wait for a full table. Communication to the guest is always with humble politeness, never sarcastic attitude. 2. Turn down the music just a tad so your guests may socialize with one another. 3. Wait staff should be provided a reference sheet for ingredients, prep details, and allergies. When an allergy is listed and known, there should be a better system for all hands involved to be informed and have an understanding of the impact. read more

So my dad was like "We can sit over there" and the lady was like, "No, it's okay!" In conclusion, Texas Roadhouse is like Jon Krakauer's legendary words and storytelling in Into Thin Air.
