    Beer makes BBQ even better!
    Matt M.

Recently, it was a beautiful day for a picnic, but I wasn't in the mood for sub sandwiches or normal picnic fare. What's a simple and easy option that can also feed your entire family? BBQ, brother! No matter the question, BBQ is usually the answer! Trax BBQ for the win! A quick phone call and my order was placed. You can order individual plates, but with BBQ, I always love ordering a pound or two of pulled pork or brisket. Trax has some great family options on the menu, all ready to easily order. It makes family time a snap! My kids were so excited we were going to eat barbecue in the park! Our family order was packaged well, complete with plates and plastic ware, pulled pork, sides, buns, and all the sauces. (Call me crazy, but I'll pick pulled pork over brisket any day. I love brisket. Don't get it twisted. But you can't go wrong with smoked or slow roasted pork!) Heads up: the Family Meal is listed under the Combos section at the bottom. So, scroll last the larger tray options and you'll find it listed. Speaking of sauces, Trax bottles their own sauce. So, if you enjoy the flavor or heat level, you can grab a bottle to stash at home. They have several options for sauces from sweet to spicy and even a Carolina yellow in both sweet and medium. My only drawback was that a few of the sides had a distinct flavor. It wasn't bad, and you may love it, so try it once. But we didn't really care for the slaw and beans. The BBQ and sauces were great, and Trax helped to provide a wonderful little picnic in the park!

Went back in for visit number two! Everything we ordered was just as delicious as it was the first time there. The staff was just so friendly, courteous, and made us feel like we were appreciated. Check out our delicious food attached!! We're from Kansas City Missouri living in Indiana and this is the best barbecue we have found in the last 15 years living here.

A couple of friends hyped this place up as the best barbecue in Indy--and they weren't wrong. We arrived around 6 PM on a Saturday and, despite the line stretching to the back of the restaurant, we stuck it out and left with carryout about an hour and a half later. The menu had a wide variety of options to satisfy any craving. We went with the pulled porker nachos and a 1/4 sheet pan--supposedly for 1-2 people--which came loaded with three meats, two sides, pickles, slaw, and toast. It was an absolutely massive amount of food. The pulled pork was hands down the best I've ever had. We sampled what the cashier called their "big three": pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. Each one had its own unique, melt-in-your-mouth flavor. We also appreciated that the nachos came deconstructed, making them perfect for assembling fresh at home. Everything was incredibly tasty, and the leftovers were just as good the next day. If you're anywhere near the area, this spot is a must-try.

We just love this place! Placed a carryout order today and everything was perfect. I wish I had her name, but the gal that took my order was fabulous. She was patient while I called home to confirm a side choice, and even noticed I was not able to carry the food out on my own, and offered to carry it to my car in the snow and muck. As usual, the food was on fire. This place does not disappoint. The sauces are spectacular, and their side choices are amazing. Tonight I even ordered their specials of chili with brisket and charro beans with beef short ribs to have tomorrow. They sucked me right in with that written on the sign! The hush puppies...OMG. Get these and dip them in spicy bbq sauce. You're welcome!

I've heard so many amazing and rave reviews of this place. It had been on our radar for a while. We went on a Saturday night at 8pm. They were pretty busy. Staff at the counter tell us it's a 40 minute wait, they're out of ribs, baked beans and their soda machine is broken. We should have left and came back a different night. But like I said, I had been wanting to try this place for a while! The brisket was dry and I was hugely disappointed by this. The pulled pork was good. Beer cheese was fantastic. The sides were fine. Nothing really wowed me. I just thought everything was middle of the road. Atmosphere was good. Lighting was good as well. They have ample seating.

Dug in before I remembered to take a photo. So good!

Stoped by on Sunday and the place was empty. I studied the menu for a while and decided to go for the brisket sandwich. Then I saw the special with a corn chowder and brisket sandwich. It came out super fast and was hot and fresh. Texas toast on the sandwich was hot and crispy. Really surprising how a place in McCordsville can make barbecue this good. The corn chowder was fresh, hot, and delicious. Lots of flavor. Several styles of sauce to choose from- guaranteed you will like one or more! I will definitely be back.

OMG, we wandered in here for a random Saturday lunch and had no idea we were about to be taken on a ride in the best way. Kelly was so helpful explaining how everything worked and offering recommendations. Everything was good, but the OMG items for us were ribs, pulled pork, wings and that banana bread pudding. All of the sides and extras were items we would all eat again. The Korean pork tacos have a kick, so be prepared. My husband and son loved the amount of heat, though. The Sweet Hog sauce is fantastic and they do a great job with to-go packages and sauces for leftovers. We will be back!

Love Trax' brisket & ribs!! Made perfect every time & a great assortment of sauces to go along with them (if that's your thing)! My wife got the Pulled Pork Nachos and loved those also! Their sides are good & give that home cooked feeling, but like most places some days are better than others. But don't let that stop you from their Mac n cheese which hasn't missed yet! However, I personally am not a fan of their baked beans only because I prefer them sweeter and thicker. Service can take a little long sometimes but that's because it can get REALLY busy, especially on weekends! So if you go, plan to hangout for a bit. Also, if it's hot out plan to sweat as it can get hot inside sometimes, and especially if eating at the tables outside! DEFINITELY get their Bread Pudding (which feeds more like a cake to me) because it's delicious & has seasonal flavors... as well as their chocolate brownie! Both come with ice cream

A++ bbq outside of Indy! Brisket and ribs are top notch. The nachos are top 3 in the surrounding areas in my opinion! Just the perfect amount of toppings. Don't skip the bread budding of the month either! Yum. Parking is either infront or across the road and you can seat inside or outside on the picnic tables.

We went here and were very satisfied! The food was amazing! We shared a 1/2 plate which was so much food! My only complaint was the temperature inside the building was on the hot side. A few fans would help with that. I cannot wait to eat the leftovers. The bbq sauce variety is amazing and there is a flavor for every one.

Smokey Blue, as you can probably guess, is a BBQ food truck with a menu that includes sandwiches (chicken, brisket, hot honey chicken, and pulled pork. The BBQ is Texas Style. They also offer So-Cal Burritos (I don't recall these being on the menu today, though I'll also admit I wasn't looking for them). Each sandwich offers a side and I also received a slice of corn bread. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken comes with either regular or spicy sauce. I opted for regular, however, in the future would probably go for spicy. Because of a work meeting during lunch, I hit the market early during the 10:30am-1:30pm hours. This isn't my favorite thing to do as trucks are typically still getting set up and meals can feel either rushed or incomplete. This was kind of true here as fries were not yet ready and with several people waiting it seemed a bit rushed. The nicely seasoned fries were good, however, they stuck together a bit. The people are very friendly here. There's an obvious desire to connect with customers. It also appears to be faith-based/inspired as there's a Scripture on the food truck. Smokey Blue also offers loaded fries, loaded mac, wings, and pork nachos. Like most food trucks, I do think some of the items are sporadically available. You can also get bottled water and soft drinks in can (Coke Products). I did also see one dessert on the menu - Smoked Apples with Brown Sugar, drizzled with Dulce de Leche and a delightful crumble on top on top of our own Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. I did not see them today, however, I'll likely try them in the future. I have a feeling this was somewhat hindered by my arriving early. This was a very solid 4-star, however, I can't quite get myself to go 5-star. Service was great, food was good, and prices were consistent with most food trucks. I will definitely return, however, I'll likely wait for them to get a bit more settled and not try to do lunch at 10:45am. Smokey Blue also offers catering and will appear at special events. Lots to love here - I look forward to returning in the future and hopefully forking over that fifth star!

The breast was small, but VERY tasty! Covered in cheese, sautéed onions & mushrooms. The garlic mashed potatoes were good too! Our service was good and the manger came around to see how we were doing. I noticed he visited several tables to see if everyone was happy. Overall a very good visit and we'll be back. The four stars is because they have several burger, chicken, & specialty sandwich options, that sound wonderful, but they only come with chips. I love the small town feel!! The restaurant vibe reflects the town. Everyone is very welcoming. I didn't catch bartenders name, but she was very friendly to everyone at her bar. She told us her favorites on the menu. I appreciated her knowledge about the restaurant and the menu. The bar area seemed a little dark, but that actually enhanced the experience of an old bar. We only sat in the bar area, I believe there is additional seating in another room, but I didn't look. I opted for a grilled tenderloin and a cup of beer cheddar jalapeño cheese soup. The sandwich's are Ala carte. The sandwich was bigger than I expected, that would have been enough for lunch. The trick with grilled tenderloin is that many times it is over cooked, so it is dry. This was cooked to perfection; cooked but still moist. The sandwich, with the "garden" was awesome. Now to the soup. I think she said they use wee Mac as the beer. The jalapeño was puréed. There was crispy bacon crumbled on top; I did not care for the bacon. The soup was odd to me as I was eating it. Because of the texture, it reminded me of corn chowder. There was a little spice/flavor from the jalapeño. What was odd to me, was it didn't wow me like I thought it would, but I kept eating it. So in the end, I think I really liked it bc I ate all of it!!! The menu is not large, but has a good variety for its size. The desserts were impressive, I just didn't have room for it.
