Charlestons is one of those places I often overlook. It sits next to a hotel and is across from Twin Peaks on 82nd St., at the intersection of I-69 and 465. I had a gift card, so figured I'd stop in one evening to have dinner. I was seated quickly and noticed that there's a fireplace inside that emits a lovely burning wood scent. That, along with the beautiful poinsettias and warm wood booths really adds to the cozy ambiance here. My friendly waitress Alicia attended to me quickly and took my order. Despite it being late (around 830p), there were quite a few occupied tables. I ordered the walleye fish blackened with vegetable blend and a side house salad. My salad arrived, accompanied by a delicious croissant with a drizzle of sweet butter. Shortly after, my dinner arrived. The fish was cooked perfectly, and it was such a large portion that I was able to take some home for lunch the next day! The service was excellent...that combined with the warm, inviting atmosphere was perfect for a cold winter's eve dinner.

I had came here for dinner which I had never been to this Charleston location and it had been a long time since I had been to a Charleston. While here I had sat at the bar. The bar tender was friendly and answered the questions that I had. I had got a peach Bellini drink and then chicken with the sweet potatoes which all really good. The food was made really good. It didn't disappoint at all. Service was quick here and I didn't have to wait a long time for my food to come out. The atmosphere was really great and quiet in here. There were people in here but it wasn't loud and the vibe was a good one. I will be back here again for the food soon.

Perfect Margarita with fresh muddles strawberries

Amanda has been an exceptional!! She works Sat, Sun and-Mon every week! Her service is beyond excellent with top notch quality at a luxurious designed bar which truly brings your pulse down to rejuvenate no matter the weather! I ordered a perfect margarita with a Caesar salad (oh the sweetened croissant delish) and not only did I place the order. Amanda took it to a whole other level just by asking if I desire fresh strawberries to be muddled served in a frosted martini cocktail glass. I ordered two but would stay longer. I need to be in and out and the service is more than 5 stars. The attention by all the staff to greet me and make me welcome goes above and beyond! On a Monday night the tables in the bar were filling up and everyone was so pleased with the service by Austin! I took it a step further and ordered dessert and when they said cheesecake, I didn't expect a grand piece 4 inches thick served with a blueberry coulis and lemon cello sauce. I can't wait to devour the dessert and more of the menu when I return on a girls night. This is an excellent option for a group of six at a table in the bar or seating for 15 at the bar. Not sure if they can reserve those seats but it would be worth it when the service, staff and quality are reaching a tier worth stopping in for!!

The salmon salad is absolutely delicious. Always pair it with a yummy croissant. But on this evening I also tried a delicious Key Lime Pie martini. Um. Amazing. Food is always delicious here and now I know the drinks are too!

Charleston's is a nice casual dining restaurant that always delivers quality service and food. This visit was for a group of 9. Charleston's was great about accommodating us without a reservation. Although they couldn't seat us a one table, they were able to sit us at two tables across from each other. I usually get the fried catfish, but this time I opted for the gumbo and Chicken Club Salad. Both were very good. Everyone really liked their meals and the restaurant recommendation.

This is amount of cole slaw in carry out container - 2.85 ounces - for $7! Not even close to what you get in restaurant for same price.

Take out cole slaw portion is ridiculously small for $7 - 2.85 ounces (see photo). In the restaurant, they say you get 5 ounces. You clearly don't get that much with carry out.

Charleston's offers a surprisingly elevated experience without the hefty price tag. The ambiance is classy, the service attentive, and the food? Absolutely satisfying. You're only spending slightly more than you would at a fast-food chain, but the difference in quality and atmosphere is night and day. Now let's talk about what stole my heart: THE FRENCH FRIES. Thin, crispy, golden perfection. I'm not exaggerating when I say they're some of the best I've ever had--light, crunchy, and completely addictive. If you're a fry lover like me, this place is a must. The only reason I'm holding back one star is because, as someone who's been vegan all my life, I would love to see more plant-based options on the menu. Currently, there are no vegan mains or desserts, so I had to rely on the fries (not complaining, but still!). That said, Charleston's delivers big flavor, a refined atmosphere, and unbeatable value. If they ever expand their menu with plant-based dishes, it's a five-star experience waiting to happen.

This place is ok. Not my favorite but it is my parent's favorite. The price point is a little higher for what you get. The portions were pretty large. I had the catfish and it was good. It also came with two sides that you can substitute out, for what you would like. Our server, Raymond, was really polite and pleasant to work with. They also have kids meal options.

We celebrated friend, Lori Tilstra's birthday at Charleston's on 82nd Street in Indy on August 29th. The bar is awesome! Ralph and Lori both had the Pasta. Dave had the meatloaf and I had the baby back ribs. I took home lots of leftovers. We all really enjoyed our meals. Sorry no photos of the meals, I forget until we demolish the plate, lol

My friend and I decided to check out Charleston's for some food & yapping haha. I arrived a little after my friend and the hostess was so sweet & complimented me (extra points for her! Haha) but what was most impressive is she knew my name. Love that! Our server was excellent too. He was attentive but also gave us enough space to communicate without constant interruptions. It reminded me of your typical dine in restaurant. Nothing too fancy. Very chill environment. I had the Flirtini for a drink, it was basically a cosmo with champagne 8/10. The Creamy Spinach dip was the star of the show, it was so yummy & the fresh chips were the icing on top. I had the meatloaf paired with mashed potatoes & broccoli. The meatloaf was good, my friend had the baby back ribs & I should've got those instead. The spinach dip alone is enough to make me return & I really enjoyed my drink.

    Bread pudding - delicious!

Visited Charleston's for dinner recently with coworkers. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated at a large table that could accommodate our group. Then we were given menus and our drink requests were taken. Soon after, our coworkers arrived. Reviewing yelp, I noticed that people were raving over the bread pudding dessert, so I went ahead and requested that as an appetizer. For dinner, also because of yelp and its wonderful array of pictures (I eat with my eyes), I selected the fish sammich with a side of carmelized carrots. The coworker next to me requested the pork chops with asparagus. Soon after, my bread pudding arrived. And indeed, it was warm and delicious. It reminded me a little of butter cake, but it wasn't as sweet. I didn't eat all of it because I wanted to save room for dinner, but damn it was delicious! Then my fish sammich arrived. It had to baked fish filets on it and they were superb. The bun was notably good. I added some tartar sauce, but left off the lettuce. This was the best fish sammich I've ever had. Yum! My carmelized carrots were very sweet. They reminded me of sweet potatoes in taste and texture. I found them to be slightly too sweet because I love the natural taste of carrot. Overall the service, meal, and experience was excellent. We had a great time.

I was blown away by the great service!! As I approached the door, a staff member stepped up and opened the door for me. While waiting for my friend to arrive, I observed that this practice was the norm. Everyone was warmly welcomed prior to being seated. Our server, Zayiana immediately came to the table and provided exceptional service from start to finish. The food was excellent, but I was really impressed how apparent that the manager and team members have taken customer service to another level. Well done Charlestons!

3 stars. Overall it's a decent enough spot to cure your hunger. Very easy to have conversation. Music was good, too. It was my first visit and things didn't quite go as well as one might have liked. But I will say that the service AFTER the mishaps was impeccable. Despite the hiccups, I left nice tips on the strength that the staff was genuine and apologetic. Nyla and Noah embodied what good service should be. Those two will be my preferred servers when I return. Quite frankly, they are the reason I will return. The food wasn't my favorite but I was kinda irritated by then and I tried something I normally wouldn't have ordered, so there's that. Everything was kinda bland and needed a "healthy" shake of the salt. But the dessert was phenomenal! The key lime pie was very tasty. Not $12 tasty, tho. It's definitely overpriced. And the salsa.... OMG! It was so well balanced. I loved it more than the spin dip. I'll certainly return and try them again. Fingered crossed!

cheeseburger and fries ($17 as of June 2025) were great.

The place is pretty with a nice bar area and the ambiance is nice with good lighting. We sat in one of the booths which was dirty but on the plus side love the privacy of them. To start the food took a long time to come which is always understandable and sometimes expected at fine dining, but was not worth the wait or price. First, the steak was said to be good, but the asparagus side was underwhelming with little to no seasoning/ butter. The lamb chops come with Alfredo pasta and was not seasoned and just not good. We had three orders of those so everybody can't be wrong. The shrimp and linguine pasta was dry with no sauce at all. On top of that the noodles were brittle and hard. I asked if we could have more sauce which helped a little bit. But i could not eat it because the noodles themselves were hard and dry and i did not want to send anything back because of the company i had. The presentation was pretty but the execution did not land. We also got espresso martinis and raspberry martinis and those were made well. For a place like this you just expect a little more pizazz and things to be on point! Especially at the price point they are at i expect everything to be tasty and saucy and flavorful and juicy. Can skip this one.

Forgot conversation- we heard everything they said, they heard everything we said, might as well have been on a double date. They weren't short of two top tables either- there were at least two, two top tables that sat empty our entire dining experience. Our server was on it throughout the night. The food was good to okay. We started with bread service. One piece of my bread was cold, and the other was warm. The honey miso butter was maybe a highlight of the whole meal. I started with a kale Caesar salad. Nice crunch to it, and an appropriate amount of dressing. My wife and I split two meals. The first- Coq Au Vin Pot pie. The meat was flavorful- but man, there is a lot of pastry when compared to meat. We got the braised short ribs. I wouldn't call the short ribs, short ribs- it was more of like a pot roast taste and consistency. There was a decent flavor, but nothing overtly amazing. Our cocktails were strong, but nothing to write home about. Overall, wouldn't be my first stop for a restaurant downtown, but if I was invited by someone else, I would most likely try it again.
