The food tasted old...it just didn't taste very fresh. I'm not sure if they need new appliances but something is off. The fried chicken was very dry and the lasagna didn't have much taste either. The corn on the cob and mash potatoes were the best part of our meals. My cherry pie had a weird after taste and the cheesecake tasted old and it's effort to even put your spoon through it..Kool Aid is good as hell nonetheless.

My meal: Prime Rib w/sautéed mushrooms, Lima beans, Spinach, marinated Beets, Cobb Salad, Iced Unsweetened Tea, & Bavarian Chocolate pie!!!

We had a great meal tonight! After a day of landscaping work, I felt like I was starving! lol I had a small Cobb Salad with ranch dressing, marinated Beets, Prime Rib Steak with sautéed Mushrooms, Spinach, Lima Beans, and Bavarian Chocolate pie. (My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach! lol But I made it all fit, except for the Cobb Salad, which I've boxed up to take home. The serving line staff were all very friendly as well as the two gentlemen who were hosting the floor. A very nice dining experience for my entire family! Thank you, MCL!!!

Wonderful atmosphere. Courteous staff. Food tasting food served in generous proportions. I enjoyed my lunch.

There was nothing really great or really bad about this place. The food was average, but you do get a ton of it. There are lots of choices: fried chicken, chicken and noodles, pork, stuffing, green beans, mac and cheese, potatoes, etc. The options are endless. The prices are good, less than $10 per person. All the employees were friendly and provided great service.

Ask the Community - MCL Restaurant & Bakery

Is this a buffet style restaurant like Golden corral?

It is a cafeteria. Not a true buffet where you can create your own portions.

    Are their foods non-GMO?

I'm not sure. I'm sure if you ask they can tell you. It's a A + place to go.

At around $30 per person for an all-you-can-eat experience, it's a fair price for the variety they offer. The lineup spans across galaxies with sushi, Chinese American favorites, ramen, hot pot, and more. The buffet area was well kept, clean, and the food looked fresh with no signs of anything leftover from the Clone Wars. The hot pot station deserves a special mention. Frozen meats and vegetables were neatly organized next to the sauce bar, which felt like the Jedi Temple of condiments. Pro tip: don't overload your plate the first or second round. You'll need stamina and strategy to get through this feast. Boba drinks in the dessert fridge were a pleasant surprise and a fun touch. The automatic 12% service fee might catch some diners off guard, but it's clearly posted at the hostess station and can be removed if you ask. For groups of six or more, the service fee bumps up to 15%. Still...the price for the selection isn't bad. Overall, Umi was a great experience. The food was fresh, the atmosphere lively, and the variety impressive. Definitely worth the credits, and I'd gladly return on another mission through the galaxy of all-you-can-eat dining.

Even then, it was nowhere near good enough to justify the $29.99 price. Everything else felt extremely overpriced for the quality. For a buffet at that price point, I expected much better food across the board. If you do not like sushi, do not come here, because that is the only thing that was even somewhat worth eating. Paying $29.99 per person for this experience was rough. Friendly staff and a clean space cannot make up for food that does not match the price. I will not be returning.

I'd offered a friend of mine a meal at his place of choice for Christmas. We usually get together on my side of town, however, this time around we chose something closer to him. Pagoda is in an older strip center, though it's fairly well maintained with accessible parking spots and an appropriate curb cut. The glass doorways here are a little heavy, though they were manageable. As you enter, there's dining to the right, a hosting area where you pay directly in the middle, some Chinese decor toward the front, and the remainder of the buffet and dining room behind the hosting area. They also have a party room all the way in the back. We arrived at about 5:30pm in the dinner hour. The crowd was pretty steady. There are several buffet tables with both traditional Chinese fare along with obvious American items like fried chicken, pizza, and other items. My friend and I found a table, though it was quite filthy with a big clump of food directly under it that wasn't cleaned up until we were done. After you pay, they give you your receipt and a server comes by to check your drinks and then brings the drinks. This server was efficient, though not particularly hospitable. That said, she did bring refills. The food ranged from downright cold to kind of warm. I think there were a couple items I'd consider to have been hot. I had one plate and started a second, however, by the second the coldness of the food made it very unappealing. Crab rangoons were decent. Chicken was tolerable. Fried rice was bland. Egg rolls were okay. It was all definitely very "meh" and nothing that I thought was memorable. The atmosphere was tolerable but far from appealing. I think the overall price was in the $40+ range including drinks for two people. Would I visit again? Not a chance. There are too many other better options. This is the area where I grew up and I was really hoping to find a place over here for those times when I am feeling nostalgic. While I've had worse meals, the average atmosphere, cold to warm food, dirty floor, and lack of welcome all add up to this being a one and done experience.

This place is great for groups. We were seated in a booth and we were greeted by our server right away. He did a great job of explaining the different options of what to order. The food was excellent! The hot bar & vegetable/salad bar were excellent! They had of bunch of different "appetizer" type options on the hot bar. However there was so much food with the KBbq that we were actually disappointed that we wasted stomach space on the hot bar (eventhough the food was good!). The hot pot was great & the broth had such great flavor. The KBbq was amazing! We really loved all the different cuts of meat for the grill! The short ribs were a fav & there's more than enough food for the table so everyone leaves more than full! It's also great that eventhough this place is busy & set up well for groups, it's not overly loud so you can still carry on a normal volume level conversation with others at your table! There are carnival type games and other distractions to pass the time. When seated your table has a large stove surface in the middle where you will either be doing BBQ or hot pot cooking. The menu is straightforward and easy to choose your option. The whole table has to choose the same option (BBQ or hot pot) so discussion might be helpful before the waiter arrives. Then you choose your meat and broth type and head to the never ending salad and veggie area. It has veggies, noodles, sauces, toppings and more! The waiter tells you em several times it is all you can eat, thus the higher price point. Make sure to note too though that if you order a lot more than you eat you will get charged a few for leftovers. They want to curb food waste which is commendable. I suggest starting small and then building as for sure you get full rather quickly! My favorite aspect was the sauce area where they listed sauce combos the recommend. It helped me a lot to have some guidance and I liked the sauce I chose from their list. A fun interactive experience and good for groups. It is loud and smelly as you are basically sitting inside a large kitchen. But a fun experience and yummy food so worth a visit!

From the start, the servers were friendly and super attentive, constantly coming around with different cuts of meat for us to try. Our favorites were the ribeye and the picanha both were cooked perfectly. I loved that they made sure to give us the best pieces too, like the perfectly charred, flavorful edges with that crispy salt crust. The Brazilian cheese bread was so good, and we also tried the warm grilled cheese with honey (not sure what it's called, but it was amazing). Everything tasted fresh and came out hot - maybe because we went for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't too busy. We grabbed a few things from the Market Table, which were all good, but we mostly stuck with the meats. The sides were great too and nice to have when we needed a little break from all the meats. Since we mentioned on our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, our waitress told us we could get a complimentary dessert. We chose the tres leches cake and it was delicious. They even brought it out with a little "Happy Anniversary" plate, which was such a nice touch. The restaurant itself felt upscale but still comfortable, and everything especially the Market Table was kept really clean. For the price, especially at lunch, it felt like a great value. At other nicer restaurants you'd easily spend $50+ on just one steak, but here you get to try multiple cuts. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend, especially for a special occasion.

The only reason I did not give this a higher rating was we all ordered coffee with our desserts and every cup came out cold! I was a bit shocked after everything before was on point. I informed the server of the situation, she rolled her eyes ( again a little shocked) and said she would bring out hot coffee, that finally came and it was better.
