    Fried Pickles
    Christina B.

I was taking my mom to an appointment nearby so we decided to stop in. I love a good chicken tender with gravy. We decided to split the classic meal (4 tenders) and the fried pickles. Everything came out super hot and fresh. I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken but my mom really liked it. I did like that they had a ton of sauce options - I went with the gravy and the mango habanero. We didn't get them this time, but they do have some very delicious-looking jar desserts. The staff were friendly and we got our order through the drive-thru fairly quick.

My first time coming here & I can honestly say this was the best semi-fast food chicken I've had in awhile. Chicken was full of seasoning (unlike similar places *cough cough* canes) I got the 3 & 3 meal or something like that - it was 3 wings and 3 tenders, fries and a piece of toast. You can choose the seasoning for the wings but only a sauce for the tenders as they come uniformly seasoned. The highlight of my visit was the freaking strawberry cheesecake jar dessert! OMG! Service was much like any fast food restaurant, however we did eat inside. The tables were clean and it was very tidy inside. Overall, I give the whole meal a 4/5.

Another chicken fast food place with a Southern theme, but opened on Sunday. The food was good, but what set them apart from the other fast food joints was the service. The service was outstanding. Jessica was cheerful and greeted us, eagerly awaiting our order. Leland delivered food with another big smile. They offer a variety of chicken sandwiches, chicken waffles and even a chicken salad. You can order your chicken spicy with a number of different levels of heat. You order and they bring food to the table. Food comes out in a quick 5 minutes. We had Crispy Chicken Sandwiches and fries. The chicken batter was crispy, meat moist and there was mayo and pickle on the sandwich. It was good and not too much food. At $5, it was a great deal for a good sandwich. The fries were also very good and generous portion that is easily sharable. I would have preferred a little less salt. The restaurant is new so all the decor is crisp and clean. There is also an outside covered patio area to eat and watch the traffic go by. They have a drive through order and an app to order on-line. 5 star for fast food.

Great for a quick bite that doesn't have the feel of fast food.Friendly service and I got to taste a few sauces before making my choice. Plenty of seats and not too loud. Loved the wrap! The strawberry lemonade was great and not too sour like most places are.

I'm kind of disappointed in this food chain. First time going, I was under the impression that it was going to give me the same type of food style like Raising Canes and Zaxby. However, the food was underwhelming. I got the four piece tender meal. I got to pick two dipping sauces and I picked garlic parmesan and buffalo sauce. I have had better tenders. The garlic parmesan sauce tasted like the dipping sauce that you would get at a seafood boil restaurant. I do not recommend. I will say that I also got the spicy barbecue dipping sauce and the Buffalo and they were a 10 out of 10 . Any extra sauce is a $.39 charge. I tried my brother, six piece wings. He got his wings sauced in buffalo sauce unfortunately for us, the sauce was cold. He said we should've went to Buffalo wild wings that's how underwhelming it was. The sweet tea was decent. Nothing to really rave about however, it wasn't bad. I did get a side of the mac & cheese, but I didn't eat it because I was so disappointed in the rest of the food. Everything cost $32. Will I be back ? Maybe not this location. On a positive note, the drive-through went quickly & the customer service was friendly and not rude.

This is my first time at Slim chickens. The employees were warm, welcoming and gave me some suggestions of their favorite items. I decided to try the buffalo chicken wrap. To my surprise the wrap wasn't filling as I presumed however, j it was very tasty. In the future if I choose to to get the wrap again, I would substitute it with an another side over the fries. Im interested in trying the chicken and waffles next time.

I saw the progress of their construction work all summer, and I was looking forward to finally trying Slim Chickens! I love fried chicken and my expectations were high. I went on a Sunday for lunch down-in. They were not that crowded and many seats were open. I ordered chicken tender combo. I really liked that they had so many sauces to choose from. I chose Korean BBQ, but it tasted more sour than sweet; not what I thought. The food took long- I waited a little more than 15 minutes. The chicken was good-just ordinary. unfortunately there is not much to write about. I loved the soft drink options there. If I am craving fried chicken I'll definitely come here, but it is not a place I will make a special trip for.

First time around we tried them within the first week they opened. My thought this isn't a fair representation for them. "Too new to rate" I'll hold my review. They were packed - a literal madhouse... employees still learning systems. Lots of tables getting incomplete or wrong orders. We waited 35 minutes, but the tenders were nice and hot so overall service at that point needed a bit improvement but food was what I was expecting. Okay so finally returned and will consider this experience the one i'm rating. The service improved for the most part. The front counter person was acknowledging and greeting customers in a polite way. The two of us ordered tenders meals. There isn't a ton else on the menu. The biggest choice is which sauce you want. Okay husband says BBQ... well they have 4 or so different ones so he picks 2... 1 ends up coming with the meal... Not the biggest deal but we would have been fine with paying for the extra if that is the issue. One sauce for four tenders - not enough variety for me. The food took just over 15 mins for dine-in. Not a big deal BUT the chicken tenders weren't hot- fries were soggy and oil tasted like it needed changed. Maybe.. my expectations were too high. The decor is simple with TVs on sports and guitars hung on the wall. I'd go again in a few more months. Maybe the runny ranch and warmish food will improve. Potential is there

Have driven past Slim Chickens and finally stopped in. It's a go up to the counter and they will bring your meal over place. Large selection of drinks you get yourself. My friend wanted to try the chicken and waffles and gave it an ok. Kind of a small portion compared to other new chicken places. I ordered the grilled chicken salad and was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a bagged salad but everything on this one was fresh and large portions. They offer primarily tenders, wings and a variety of side like Mac & cheese and fried orca. Several milkshakes too.

This is my second time here I went on 4/24 and again on 5/2. I live near Greenfield but this was definitely worth the travel. The homemade cayenne ranch is delicious with just a hint of heat. Chicken is crispy and the seasoned fry and so good. They also have sweet and unsweetened tea, peach tea and raspberry tea as well. What? Yummy yummo! The staff was very courteous also. I was indecisive on if I was going to try something different but being the creature of habit that I am I went back to what I had before. This time I brought a friend. Since she had never been there she needed additional time peruse the menu as well. Not knowing that after downloading the app on 4/24 I could refer people. So not only did I get $5 off of $10 for downloading the app I also got $4 for the referral. It's a win-win! Now to get you all to open a location on the far eastside of Indy.

Today was Grand Opening for Slim Chickens in Traders Point. They tore down the former Macaroni Grill :( and built the new restaurant over the past year. I ordered the Chick's Meal. 3 Piece chicken tenders, Fries, Garlic Toast and a Dipping Sauce. I jokingly asked the young lady to tell me about the 17 dipping sauces. She pointed out the sticker on the counter. I at least expected her to say maybe what her favorite was or recommend one. Drink station with 4 different teas and a soda machine. Lots of seating inside and a covered patio outside. I got my meal to go. The chicken was decent. Honestly nothing really special about it. The cayenne Ranch dip I got was good. The garlic toast was good and super garlicky. The fries weren't remotely even near crisp. Quite soggy actually. Other than having numerous dipping sauces this is pretty much like Raising Caines.

My son and I were in the area and wanted something to eat. We went through the drive through and saw they had an extensive menu. We asked the worker what her favorite items were and she happily made some suggestions. I got the spicy bbq wrap and my son got the tenders with garlic parm sauce on the side. Both were delicious! We will definitely return!

We tried this location out for lunch on a Tuesday as it isn't too far from our office. It was pretty busy when we arrived but only two people in front of us in line. We placed our order with a friendly young lady who was clearly not enjoying the rush. My friend and I both ordered the three piece chicken tenders meal that comes with fries, and Texas toast. the interior reminds me of Jimmy Johns. Simple with some applique sayings on the walls and signs. Nothing special. The music was on rather loud and the food took forever x2 to come out, around 35 minutes. It was definitely not fast but tasty! The chicken was good, the fries were a bit overdone, but the Texas toast was amazing! So after having my fill of fried food and carbs I was ready for a nap. It was good, I would enjoy a few more flavorful sauce options.

The bao was amazing -- so fatty and meaty, and it was probably the largest bao bun that I've ever seen, let alone ate! The matcha pudding was the perfect ending to the meal, and came with a delicate mini pitcher of cream to pour over the pudding. I also got to try the tempura shrimp, and I think that's what I'll be getting next time! This might have been the best tempura shrimp I've ever eaten. The batter was perfect and crispy, and somehow melted in my mouth. I might need to revisit just to get tempura. They have a nice selection of sake here. They got your cold sake, hot sake, jelly sake, cloudy sake and even sparkling sake. What's a girl to do? Order the sake! I was eating a hot bowl of ramen, so I opted for the cold sake, which was nice and refreshing. This is such a chill place to have a bowl of ramen or a Japanese snack. The private booths make this place the perfect spot for an intimate meal, but it's also a great space for groups because they also have table seating.

The Brussels sprouts are an absolute triumph: perfectly blistered with a caramelized exterior and tender interior, dressed in a harmonious balance of bright acidity and savory depth. Little crunchy bits and a subtle smoky char add texture, while a finishing sprinkle (and a hint of something sweet-salty) elevates them from simple side to a show-stealer. The Korean salmon is equally impressive. The fish arrives flaky and moist with a richly glazed crust that carries sweet, spicy, and umami notes in perfect proportion. Layers of flavor -- gochujang-forward heat, sesame brightness, and a touch of citrus -- play against the salmon's natural richness without overpowering it. It's plated thoughtfully, with complementary sides that keep each bite balanced. If you're at Big Lug Canteen, don't pass up those two dishes -- they demonstrate skilled technique, bold yet nuanced seasoning, and a real sense of care in the kitchen. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, solid value. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is located on the second floor. The first floor has Pickleball courts. Upon walking in the restaurant it is quaint with as full view of the courts. No one seated me since it was a group gathering. I looked over the menu and identified what I wanted to order. I started with a fresh shrimp salad that turned out to be super good and fresh. It was more than enough for two people to eat. I was in the mood for wings and fries and they did not disappoint. The wings were seasoned and fried just without the burnt taste. The fries were equally good and had a unique seasoning that was pleasing to taste. One of the best kept secrets as this restaurant has not been opened long. This is great gathering for family and friends especially if you want to try pickleball and eat. I will definitely add this restaurant to my list. Sorta located in a strange area due to construction but can easily be found just be patient.
