I normally love Chicken Salad Chick and have always had good experiences, so I really hate leaving a review like this. I pulled into the drive-thru around 8:20 tonight, well before the 9:00 closing time. When I tried to order, the employee on the intercom was laughing, making static noises into the speaker, then saying "hello, hello" after this went on for a while. It went on long enough that I felt uncomfortable and honestly got the impression that she didn't want to take my order, so I ended up leaving. I completely understand it was later in the evening and close to the end of the shift, but there were still about 40 minutes until closing. I've never felt the need to leave a negative review here before, but this interaction was really disappointing and made me uncomfortable enough to just drive away. read more

How can a restaurant experience be whack and fire at the same time? It happened to me, and it happened at this Chicken Salad Chick. I placed an order online for pickup, which was easy. When I picked up my food, I stupidly did not check my order before driving the food 45 minutes away to deliver to family. It was only after I delivered the food that I opened the bag and found that an entire meal and a side was missing. Dang it! It was too far away to drive back immediately and get the missing food, so we just ate what food we did get and I made a mental note to stop by Chicken Salad Chick and get a refund for my missing chicken salad and mac and cheese. It pissed me off even more because what I was eating (I got the lemon basil chicken salad) was so delicious that it was difficult to be mad at the restaurant. Chicken Salad Chick knows how to do chicken salad! The sandwiches are great, but my preferred way to eat the chicken salad is with crackers. Anyway, I returned to this location to get my refund for missing food. Not only did they apologize for the mistake and immediately give me a refund, but they also gave me vouchers for six free meals! What! Your girl loves free food more than almost anything, so this was above and beyond. Last time we go here. We've been going here since they opened two years ago and watched as the customer service has slowly tanked. Today, I spent 30 minutes waiting for a sandwich and side item. 15 of those minutes was looking at the food sitting in the window, waiting to be packaged up. Ridiculous. We recently were in the hunt for broccoli salad for my husband's birthday "picnic in March". Up popped Chicken Salad Chicken (bonus that they offer a convenient drive thru option). We rolled through and ordered the larger broccoli salad (ideal for groups) and one serving of egg salad since the craving hit me while ordering. ;) the sizing of the foods was somewhat complicated to navigate - scoops sizes, how you want the scoop, differences in sizes, etc. It seems that there would be a more efficient way. This is my first time and I thought it was pretty good. I did a trio with spicy pimento spicy chicken salad and regular chicken salad, with extra lettuce and tomato slices to make lettuce wraps. Surprisingly great experience. Today is Veteran's day and I browsed through a list of local participating restaurants that had discounts available for Veterans (myself a Marine Corps veteran). I'd never been to a Chicken Salad Chick before and wasn't sure exactly what to expect. I was presently pleased with their offerings! A savory Chicken Salad spread on toasted wheat bread that was pleasantly paired with a broccoli salad and a lemonade on the side (and don't forget the iced shortbread cookie). It was a very tasty lunch that I will certainly be stopping by again in the near future. A great place, in a bit of a busy location (especially around lunch time) but well worth the effort! I highly recommend Chicken Salad Chick to anyone that is tired of the tried and true, somewhat boring lunch choices that are in search of something new and different! read more

Pretty good fast food , with how much you pay wish food was a littler fresher . Tomato's are always bad , and always make sure to check their salads as I've gone a few times and the lettuce etc was all mushed . read more

Excellent food and excellent service! The lady that took my order also took the time to explain the menu, which I found a little overwhelming on my first visit here. Thankfully no one was behind me and I did not feel rushed. I tried the pick 2 with the Fancy Nancy on a croissant (with lettuce and tomato) and a cup of the Loaded Potato Soup which has bacon and cheddar on top. It comes with a pickle spear and an iced cookie. The Fancy Nancy is chicken salad with grapes and pecans in it--it's great. The soup was also delicious. Their fresh brewed unsweetened iced tea is also very good. Recommend you give this place a try if you like chicken salad! read more

I had heard months ago that this location of the Chicken Salad Chick was opening and kept planning to visit and finally made it. First impression wow they really have taken the southern female founded business decoration to a whole new level. For a quick dining option this has to be one of the best decorated places I have seen. Of course it helps that is newer. Also I was very impressed by the service. I am sure in keeping with their southern hospitality the service was outstanding. I don't think I have ever had a team member at a quick dining restaurant ask if I liked my sandwich. Here the staff and manager checked to make sure we were happy. We were but I am sure if you had an issue they would fix it. Next the food. Well you have to guess that Chicken salad and it's derivatives will be the main items available but if you are allergic to chicken don't let that hold you back they have egg salad and also a southern staple of pimento cheese as well. I ordered the spicy chicken salad sandwich myself with the broccoli salad. You can pick from several sides as well. They also have three bread options and I choose the croissant. This definitely was excellent chicken salad. Usually you might get chicken salad with the large chunks of chicken but not here. It was well blended and flavorful. I complemented this with some I sweet tea which tasted very refreshing. I also got some pimento cheese to go so I can have it for lunch in a day or two. Today is Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 so BEWARE of construction on 86th St. right in front of this place. The Eastbound Right lane is closed, and only one lane is open. There is plenty of parking available in their lot. Yelp Note: I could not find this place in a search, I had to use the Event Listing to find it. Who knew there were still new concepts to develop into new restaurants. Make sure you read "Our Story" posted on the wall or on a menu. It is humorous how they came to be a restaurant. Also if you manage to make it here this week and are one of the first 50 customers you will receive a free gift. Tomorrow the 18th is a free tumbler, then Fri. the 19th a fleece blanket, and Sat. the 20th its a large cooler. We arrived at 11:45 am and it seemed like they might have already had 50 customers but we got the free tote bag and its a really nice one. OH! They are doing this promo TWICE A DAY. The second round starts at 6 pm. We bought prepackaged chicken salad and egg salad to bring home from the grocery style cooler right before where you place your order. We have been to a store in Lexington, KY and knew it was going to be good. I ordered the Classic Chicken Salad on white, toasted with the Chicken Florentine Soup. She ordered the Fancy Nancy on wheat berry bread with Broccoli Salad and Pasta Salad. The sandwiches are definitely full size and we both had to take our second half of our sandwich home. The classic is just that. Tastes just like my mom used to make. The soup was chunky with some tortilla strips and wheat crackers and it tasted very good. All meals get a little cookie as well. Wowza! Chicken Salad is one of my favorites. I normally gravitate toward fruity chicken salad but decided to venture out. I went with the Barbie-Q and Jalapeño Holly. Barbie-Q is slightly sweet barbecue sauce with a hint of Mayo. Jalapeño Holly has a kick! Chunks of jalapeño in light Mayo mix. It's served with crackers unless you want it on a bun. A cute delicious cookies ends the meal sweetly. I love that the chicken salad isn't overly mayonnaise-y. Some chicken salad is so wet and sloppy. This is not the case here. I will be back! read more

I grabbed lunch on Veterans Day and had the Fancy Nancy and the Kickin Kay Lynn chicken salad (on a croissant). Both were amazing! I loved the pickle as well. The buttercream cookies are amazing. The food is delicious and I can't believe that I waited so long to try out the food here. The service was okay, but it was also very busy. I can't wait to return. I was excited to try this new Chicken Salad Chick restaurant today at 86th and Ditch Road which sits next door to Einstein's Bagel Shop. As soon as I entered I was greeted by a very sweet employee who instructed me to walk forward to place my order at the counter. I informed the women behind the counter this was my first time at the restaurant. She explained the process of selecting one of the 12 chicken salads, the pimento cheese or egg salad offerered and sides I wanted. There are two options of The Chick ($8.49) where you can add a Scoop or Sandwich plus a side item. The Trio ($2.00 upcharge) is any one scoop, side, or cup of soup. Add a beverage for an additional $1.99. Plus on this visit they were giving a tote away to the first 50 guests. I really enjoyed the Green Salads with a Classic or Seasonal Salad. The seasonal salad offers fresh greens, fruits, cheeses and crunchy toppings. They didn't have blue cheese dressing but the poppy seed dressing was very tasty. They also have a Broccoli, Grape or Pasta Salad plus Fresh Fruit or Mac 'n Cheese as a side. Four BLT sandwiches with crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and sliced tomato are also available with the Chicken Salad, Pimento Cheese, Turkey Club or Turkey Pesto. I ordered the Fancy Nancy Chicken Salad (fruit and nuts) Sandwich on a Crossiant with a Seasonal Salad (poppyseed dressing), Chicken Tortilla Soup and a Diet Coke. The Buttercream Frosted Flower Cookies looked delish so I purchased two cookies. I wish the Crossiant Sandwich had more Chicken Salad on it but it was very good with the Fuji Apples, Seedless Grapes and Pecans. The salad was very fresh, crisp and I loved the crispy apples, cheeses and nuts. The Chicken Tortilla Soup was very tasty with tomatoes and corn but not overly spicy if that is a concern. The Buttercream Frosted Flower Cookie was so good and I'm glad I purchased two. The farmhouse interior is warm and inviting with a two tone green paint scheme with tables and booths. You can order carryout or dine-in and my order was prompt. The restaurant had several employees to help guests, answer questions and concern plus confirm all was well. I ordered the Dixie Chick Chicken Salad on a croissant with a cup of the loaded baked potato soup. You can order an additional side for $2, of course I had to opt in for this addition. I tried the grape salad, which was delicious. I ordered a large drink and LOVED the strawberry lemonade. I think this restaurant is a great option for a lighter lunch option and I love chicken salad. I opted for the "Dixie style" chicken salad (Only one with onions!) as a BLT on a croissant. It was very good! Just LOOK at this SUPER CUTE combo! This is something a parent would lovingly pack for their child's lunch at school! Look at that unsolicited beautiful flower cookie! I tried the spiciest chicken salad on the menu since I love spicy food. It was yummy and not too spicy. Very good flavor. I ordered the chick which came with a side, I chose mac n cheese which was pretty decent. The chick also comes with a pickle spear and sugar cookie. There area so many flavors to choose from here. I was lucky and one of the first 100 customers so I get free chicken salad for a year! I will def be trying the other flavors. I got a sample of the southern style (pickles and eggs) one and it was also good. So - I love chicken salad and was super excited to try this place out. I have never heard of this place before but was excited to know that several were coming to Indy. The concept here is super simple - you simply choose from several different types of chicken salad and can either have scoops of it or have it on different types of bread. I chose the Fancy Nancy version because that's the one I am most used to - salad with pecans and grapes. I chose pasta salad as a side, because that's usually a safe bet for me besides fresh fruit. I was a bit disappointed in my meal. My croissant didn't taste fresh (it was dry) and the salad itself was nothing to write home about. It lacked seasoning in my opinion. The pasta salad had a lot of olives in it as well and I was a bit underwhelmed. The meal came with a pickle and a cookie (that I didn't try because I'm not really a dessert person). I ordered a strawberry lemonade which was extremely sweet. I didn't finish it. I expected more from the other glowing reviews and I'm not so sure I'll try it again seeing as though it was a little pricey at around $11 for my order. I love chicken salad. Reading the story of how Stacy Brown came up with this restaurant legit felt like my life. I order chicken salad everywhere I go but am often disappointed. This is the holy grail of chicken salad! So man the options and creative ways to eat chicken salad. The staff was super friendly and even though the line was long, they got everyone served quickly and efficiently. I ordered the Spicy Pimento BLT and a side of Tomato Bisque soup. So good! I did try the classic chicken salad sample and I'll probably go with that next time because it was so delicious. I wanted to try something a little more unique for my first order. I wish I loved this. I had heard great things, even hearing it mentioned on a news radio show, so I was excited. I had the chicken salad for the onion lovers. It was good. I had it on a croissant and ate it in the restaurant. I brought a container of the buffalo chicken chicken salad home. I tried it the following day and it was really just okay. It isn't something I'd order again. I couldn't tell what was going on with the lady at the service counter who was helping me out. I wouldn't say she was friendly or welcoming, but she did help me. Came by here on my way home from traveling up north for the day. Went inside and it's very clean, but very slow traffic wise. Not alot of customers. They have an open cold case where you can grab and go or order behind the counter. If it's your first time definitely go to the counter You can try a small sample of anything you would like before buying it. I highly recommend doing that. It was very hard deciding on what buy and navigate through the menu. If you want several different chicken salads because alot of them are really good, don't go with the individual package chicken because that will run you over $30 plus dollars and those containers are not that big. I was looking at doing 3 different chicken salads. So I navigated through the menu and I finally spoke up to try and keep this order to go less than ordering a meal at a fine dining restaurant. My favorite was the original chicken salad with added onion, chicken salad with egg, and the lemon chicken salad. There was more I had not tried and will be back to try those. To the left of the menu is your chicken salads and to the right is chicken salads with fruit. Never got that far with the samples. I did try the potato soup and it was so good not salty at all. It had bacon, and cheese. I also got the Italian side pasta salad very good not bitter. Definitely everything was fresh. The way to go is to get the 3 scoop meal and added the soup for an extra charge. Definitely go with the 3 scoop meal comes with a pickle, cookie, and small upcharge you can add the soup. I'd heard about Chicken Salad Chick years before it made its way to Indy so I love chicken salad so I was happy that a few locations have popped up near me. It took me way too long to check it out but now that I have, I'm definitely coming back! I had The Chick and chose the Barbie-Q on a croissant with lettuce and tomato and a side of pasta salad. The Barbie-Q had a nice tang to it. I wasn't a huge fan of the pasta salad so I'll try another side the next time I go. I like that they have a drive-thru and that service was quick. This place is near my office! I think I avoided it for a long time: 1. I'm not a chick 2. I'm pretty proud of my own Chicken Salad creations. 3. I've been here a myriad of times now and on the whole have had good food and excellent service. Idk if it's the whole southern thing or what but the people have all been wonderful. One time they forgot to hand me half my meal though so that wasn't cool. They did still have it when I drove back but still annoying. I love the little cookies in the chick and have really enjoyed all the delicious flavors- my fav so far is fruity Fran. The dill was a little too tangy for me and the bbq needed more flavor. Quite a few gluten free options on the menu. I got a scoop of Olivia's Old Fashioned and grape salad. I also got the choco crisped rice treat. No gluten ingredients in any of those items. I'm only sensitive, not allergic so indulge wisely. I used my own crackers and gave away the club crackers and included cookie. 10/10. Looking forward to eating here often. It was a great replacement for the old Noodles & Co. My only gripe is I couldn't finish my food right away. When I got to it later, the grape salad had absorbed all the pickle flavor so it was disgusting. Wish the grape salad had been in its own container. Also had a sample of the original which was good and one with pickle (not for me, but you pickle lovers...) My meal came with the cutest little cheryl's cookie which was perfect. Appreciate the fresh brewed tea option. I thought the loaded potato soup, although nice and hot, was too salty. The croissant would have been better toasted or warm, felt a little stale. Our office had chicken salad chick catered in for lunch the other day. I was surprised at home much food each boxed lunch received! You never know with box lunches how they may turn out, but this was delicious! I got the classic Carol sandwich that came with a side of the broccoli salad, fruit cup and a mini buttercream cookie! I thought the sandwich was great and I love wheat berry bread. The only issue which was simply because it may have been sitting there for a while was that the bacon got soggy. But what can you expect with boxed lunches in mass quantities! The broccoli salad was good and the fruit was not mushy which is a plus for fruit cups! I personally am not a fan of grapes in my chicken salad so I was glad to see they did not. I am from out of town visiting Indianapolis for business. I was getting food to in drive through, when I was asked if it was my first time I was encouraged (if I had time) to come inside to sample all the flavors before making a decision. Upon entering the store I received such a warm and friendly welcome. Everyone had a smile on their face and seemed happy. I tried several flavors and a soup. The gentleman that was waiting on me was incredibly attentive and helpful. It seemed he really wanted me to have a good experience. He shared what his favorites were and was engaging. I tried the Madame Curry chicken salad recently. I love the curry flavor. It's not spicy. The golden raisins add a level of sweetness. It might be a little too sweet for me and I suggest adding more celery to the recipe for some crunchiness. Service was excellent and I received my good very quickly. read more
