TENDER Sando Meal (#2) w/ Greens
    Charice H.

Hot boys (Say what?) Baby, you got what I want! -In My Missy Elliott voice If you are wondering what this place has, is definitely a dope vibe, good food and good service! First time around I tried the sandwich with the sauce on the side and fries. The fries were good and had a seasoning on them with a bit of a kick. Second time I just ordered the tender sandwich and the collard greens which also had a slight kick but I like it. I will definitely be ordering them again! Tried the mac&cheese but wasn't a fan, but I'm a mac&cheese snob as well. If you find yourself in Indy's Fountain Square, definitely stop by. They even have a DJ on Friday nights during the summer.

Awesome environment, decent service. Vegetarian options are great, generous portions. Seems like it tends to stay busy on weekends, pretty open during the week. Outdoor patio was clean and spacious.

They're not playing around with spice, go 1-2 levels lower than you order at other hot chicken places. I recommend the tenders, waffles, and loaded guap fries! Portions are generous. The team here is so energetic and lively, and this space is always hosting pop ups and events!

Staff was nice but they like to talk you out of getting anything other than the medium sauce for some reason which is odd!! The medium tasted hot but not like a Thai hot and the hot my husband said he wished he got the hotter instead. Chicken was decent size and the dipping sauce was delicious. Meal comes with 2 tenders and a side for $15 which is pricey. You can add an extra piece though for $5 more:( comes with 2 ranch so don't buy extra!! Place is small and really cluttered , decor was really outdated. Tables and floor definitely needed replaced. Coke, beer and other beverages available. Plenty of street parking available.

This place was so good that I am sad I don't have it closer to my home. It has a tiny, but extremely cool dining room and a nice little outdoor area for eating. On busy days, that's not going to be enough space, but we were lucky enough to snag a table. I love hot chicken, and this is as good as I have ever had.

Best meal I've had in a looooong time-- I used to go to the Oakland location back in high school and this brought me back :) I think the Oakland location is spicier because I always got Mild Plus and it would make me sweat but here the Mild Plus is very manageable. I love the slaw bc it's not too salty or greasy-cuts the spice and oil of the chicken and is so perfect. If you're getting the Sando Meal I'd recommend getting extra slaw as your side! The buns r perfectly toasted, the chicken is slightly sweet, super crispy and sooo juicy inside. The staff are so kind and took the time to explain the entire menu to my friends. Vibes inside are super fun and make the whole experience that much more exciting! There aren't tables that can seat more than 4 people though. I said it about Oakland and I'll say it again- best chicken sandwich you'll find anywhere

Stoped in to see what all the buzz was about before a concert at the Hoosier Dome over the weekend. Service is fast and friendly the place is really clean and has its own vibe with the choice of random decor and themes going on. Got the #1 chicken thigh sandwich with fries and it was moist, crispy and delicious! My friend got the tender sandwich and said it was really good! I will be coming back for sure!

I was here for a meeting with some of my alumni before they had to leave for college, we ordered our food and it came out pretty fast! I enjoyed the chicken sandwich with fries, it was very tasty! I also get training wheels for spice, because while I enjoy spice, I don't want my sinus draining as I eat. Love how it's decorated there is a fun mix of lights colors and other interesting decor. Check them out if you are in the ft square area.

Cool vibes and awesome food. Fries were cooked to perfection and the chicken sandwich was delicious.

The food was good and we loved both the Mac n cheese and the fries. I appreciated the options for spice and heat so my mild was doable and not burning my oh so sensitive taste buds. The wait was short even though they were busy, and we loved the ability to sit outside in the sunny day. The music choices were just not our thing and sort of ruined the experience for us. I work with a diverse group and this found some of the lyrics to just be over the top - so be warned about that if going and eating in. We might go again as the food was good, but would only take it to go.

Second time in Indnpls, but the first time for World Famous Hotboys. The talk is primarily about how hot is Hot and how much of the heat can you stand. As a huge fan of spice, but a hungry hungry contestant who wanted to enjoy my food rather than suffer, I opted to try the Medium Hot. Will admit that it was an ideal amount of spice to have heat but still enjoy. Brandon ordered the Hot and pretty much suffered the entire time. The few bites that I tried of the Hot were tolerable but it could have been a completely different experience had that been my entire sandwich, it gets stronger the more of it you eat. Do they sell milk? That could help?

This chicken is damn good & damn hot! they aren't lying with the spice level and I like to think I can handle at least a good medium heat. We walked in on a Saturday around 5pm and were able to place our order within 5 minutes. The employee was very friendly and helped walk us through the different levels of heat. We ended up going with the tender meal with a heat level between medium and hot. Our side was mac fritters and the drink was pink lemonade. The meal comes with a slice of fluffy white bread and I definitely needed it This chicken was some of the hottest I've ever had. It was crispy and delicious and the same can be said about the mac and cheese fritters. They were creamy and gooey on the inside and perfectly breaded on the outside. The tenders came with their signature dipping sauce which was good, but i'm not sure exactly what was in it. It helped cool down the chicken a little! The ambiance is super cool both inside and out. They don't have much inside seating available, but it is decorated and lit with lots of neon and bright colors. The outside has 2 covered tables that each seat about 6 and about 3 picnic style tables directly out front that are not covered. Parking is available on the street out front.

This chicken is delicious! Usually, spicy food just brings the heat without much flavor, but this one nails both taste and spice.

Keagan Fife (Manager) - A team player, receptive to feedback and conscientious. We had a issue while there and he was able to step in and problem solve with me and come up with a solution that really won us over. We had a moment where it was feeling a bit "why did we come here" but his customer service exceeded expectation. That's good management. (He's the gentleman in the video below.) Let's get the negative out the way 1st. The first waitress asked if we wanted anything to drink. I told her we hadn't received menus. She came back sat them down and walked away. We never saw her again. A new waitress came and she seemed pleasant enough. Once we were all seated she began to take our orders. She made a point to say she needed to write it all down or she was get it mixed up. She then did not write anything down. Our food came out extremely slow but that wasn't a huge deal because we all were mingling. A lot of her team had to step in and deliver our food, give drinks, check on us etc. She was pretty non existent. Two of the ladies never received food. This was after we had been there for 2 hours and everyone else had received their items. At the end when we asked for our check they were all mixed up and confused. The waitress then blamed us for adding things and moving around. We never moved once and she only came around the one time when she originally took our orders. We never got a chance to add things. (it was quite comical that she tried to say that) I ended up asking for manager because she seemed overwhelmed and a bit bias about our group. Assuming that we wouldn't want one check and splitting them because she figured we would want it that way and then blaming us because she did it when we never asked for split. There rule is parties over 8 have to have 1 bill and we never asked for an exception. There was just her assumption that a group of black women wouldn't want to do that. (I digress) There were a few more things but I will end it there. That was the big negative. Now the positive!!! Ambiance 10/10 - great views, great music, great location, umbrellas on roof were great although a but wobbly and scary. Also, they come around with complimentary sunglasses while dining. I thought this was a nice and luxurious touch! Food 8/10 - most food received was delicious Service 9/10 - everyone except for our server was great! Everyone who pitched in to help was awesome! Ended up tipping a different server who basically helped us the whole time. Bless his heart because I know he was super busy. As stated above management handle the situation well. I would definitely go back! I try to give people a chance. I think our server may have been overwhelmed and had a past experience that left her bias against our group but hopefully she can grow and get better. Her actions don't reflect the restaurant as a whole! Go and enjoy the vibes and views!

Tonight my husband and I walked down to Strangebird for dinner, ordered drinks and dinner, and I had *just* said to my husband that Strangebird has come to feel like a second home. Then the server came out and told us that the chef has decided they will no longer permit any modifications, including those that meet dietary needs. We were out on the quiet patio surrounded by other customers, so on top of being totally blindsided, it was actually pretty embarrassing, too. Folks, let me tell you how much I wish I could just eat the ramen noodles like everybody else. So much food that I love (and in some cases spent years learning to make myself) went out the window forever when my body stopped being able to handle wheat. But at Strangebird, I could still go in and enjoy the depth of flavor in every other component of a bowl of ramen. And that meant the absolute world to me. I'm heartbroken.
