The most unexpected surprise when my friends and I ventured here for Sunday funday! Service: amazing service from when we walked in to our hostess was great and our seat was great. Also, the wings aren't really seasoned - unless you choose a sauce. That was a bummer because I am a dry rub girl (but I believe the waitress mentioned the rub would be like a sweet brown sugar rub). I got them plain with the avocado ranch on the side. It tasted like straight mayonnaise. The waitress brought out some spicy bbq and plain ranch - that helped! Food was great! My frat brother and I had the smoked wings, lump crab hushpuppies, and fries. The wings were tossed in a dry rub so it was well seasoned, and they were whole wings too! I've stayed here at the Marriott several times but this was the first time I ate at Connor's kitchen. The Service and food were excellent! I dined during lunch service so I ordered off of the lunch menu. My server was Andrew and he was super attentive. I immediately ordered the lump crab hush puppies and they were delicious, I definitely recommend! I also ordered the wagyu Burger in my goodness, It was worth every calorie! Best brisket hash by far!! Most restaurants that I've ordered hash from served diced potatoes and shredded brisket. But this brisket was a cut above! The brisket was sliced thick, smokey flavor and served with whole redskin potatoes that were so, so good. If you want a great brunch, add Connor's Kitchen to your list. read more

We stopped in to Conner's while in Indianapolis for a multi day conference. It is very near the capital building and the convention center in the downtown area. What I really liked about it is there is a large and very comfortable covered patio in the front facing the street. This was great to gather upon, during the waning hours of the day with colleagues to review all the things that had taken place. Fantastic menu with handcrafted cocktails, and delicious shareable appetizers. I did review the menu but didn't have a regular meal at Conners. Everything looked well prepared on the other guest tables. It is not standard pub food, instead it is several notches up. All in all, I would say that this is a fantastic place to unwind at the end of the day with friends or coworkers. read more

My first visit here, for Sunday brunch. There were only a few diners here when we arrived. The Colts were playing in Berlin at 9:30 am, and we thought it would be a good opportunity to watch the game while enjoying brunch. We ordered a few brunch entrées to share. The lemon buttermilk pancakes were doughy and undercooked in the middle. The edges were good. My friend ordered eggs, potatoes, and bacon. My favorite was the roasted potatoes. They were nicely seasoned and perfectly roasted. Our server was rather indifferent and seemed to be annoyed. Not annoyed with us but just seemed to be annoyed in general. Maybe he was just having a bad morning, but the service was not what I had expected to experience. The restaurant is attractive and we were able to see several tvs easily so we could watch the Colts game. My group of 6 visited on a Wednesday night. We had 6:30p reservations, but this large restaurant was fairly empty. Earlier in the day our team mate dialed to change our reservation from 5 people to 6 and was asked if we'd be paying with one check for the larger party. Odd. Visually the restaurant makes a nice first impression with its tall ceiling, bar, and lighting. Good thing I took in the initial scene because we were sat in a corner of the room and I stared at the wall for the remainder of the night. Most of our group ordered old fashioned cocktails and the Waygu cheeseburger with fries. Other than the burger standing tall, nothing stood out about either item. After eating hotel food for 3 days you'd think this burger would've been the star of the week. Our server was friendly and our food arrived quickly. However, nothing kept us there for another round of drinks and we took our dollars to other restaurant. My family and I came here on a Saturday for brunch. We wish there more lunch options available on the menu. The food was pretty good, but I expected better just because of all the high Google reviews. We ordered the crab hush puppies which had a generous amount of crab in them and paired really well with the dipping sauce. My husband and dad got the wagyu burger which came with a generous amount of fries and you could add an egg or thick slice of bacon for extra cost. The shrimp and grits had a nice spicy flavor to them. The main item that was disappointing to me was the fish tacos. The fish was not seasoned well and was pretty flavorless with the other taco toppings. Service was friendly and efficient. Our waitress came over to check on us pretty regularly. The place was busy (expected with the game going on!), and even with the crowd our server did a good job staying attentive. Service was a little slower, but totally understandable given how busy they were. The food was definitely the highlight -- everyone at our table ordered burgers and fries, and they were fantastic. They also accommodated us when a couple of us wanted to split a burger; they handled it without any issue. Drinks were just okay. nothing bad, but nothing standout either. I've definitely had better and worse elsewhere. The only downside was how tight the seating felt. The tables are very close together, and with the place full, it was hard to move around or even get in and out of your seat. They also don't allow standing room, so if you don't have a table, you're kind of out of luck. Still, solid food, good service, and a lively atmosphere -- especially if you're in the mood to enjoy a game with friends. We'd go back again! read more

Connors is attached to the Marriott Hotel. It gives the Best of both worlds-restaurant and bar. My cousin and I decided to sit at the bar to watch some games. The waiters were helpful and patient as we looked over the menu. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. Fries were standard. I felt they could have used fresh Parmesan. The wings were lacking flavor , and the sauce wasn't spicy at all. I was excited to try the burnt ends, but they were actually burnt ends. It was more like cubed pork with sauce on it. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The butter cake was amazing! Overall the meal was good, but could have been better for what was spent. read more

It may have just been the one day/moment I was here, but boy it was tough to get a table for 2 here (despite the place having plenty of empty space). We only had bar foods so I can't speak to the menu, and they were good - but everything was remarkably expensive even when compared to some of the city's top steakhouses just a short walk away. And the wine list pricing was laughable - a supermarket prosecco that you can buy for $11 per bottle was selling for $15 a glass. I know bars make their living off drink margins, but at least sell better drinks at these prices. If you're at the convention center and want a quick snack or drink, there are a half dozen nearby places with better pricing, and equal or better selections. And if you're a wine lover please go to a place with a better wine list. read more

I came into Connor's while at a convention downtown. I had not planned to eat there, but it was open late. My friend and I were seated in a comfortable booth immediately. Our waiter was attentive and efficient. We didn't wait too long for anything except dessert, and our waiter informed us that that would take a little longer because they had just fired more cake. (It was worth it.) The restaurant was spacious, and not too loud, despite the other convention goers and some other business people from the hotel. It was accessible for wheelchairs and service animals. There's both indoor, and some outdoor seating. There was a large area for bigger groups too, inhabited by what looked like a wedding party? Tables, booths, and a bar are the seating options. Dress is casual, although the party was dressed in finer garb. The service workers are in uniform black. The food was excellent. I ordered the wagyu cheeseburger. I thought it a bit pricey at first, but it was worth it. Honestly, it may be the best burger in Indy? It's certainly in the running. The menu is varied with mostly conventional Americana fare. I have not tried anything else on the menu - and the wagyu burger was so good I doubt I'll order anything but that again. I highly recommend Conner's for the food alone. The ambience and service were great too. I will go again soon. read more

Food was just ok. Nothing special. The main issue was their pricing. Both their online and table menu did not match what we were charged. We ordered the 1/2 order of short rib nachos and the wagyu burger. Both were $2 more on our bill vs the menu prices. The waiter, Reggie, brought it up to the manager and they took only $2 off our bill. The waiter was very nice and did the right thing by checking with the manager. Disappointed that the manager did not come to apologize. Hopefully they will update their pricing to match what they advertise on their menu soon! I've only ever had the breakfast here, but have enjoyed it every time! The servers are always friendly and helpful. Gluten free modifications are easy and handled with care. Of course, I am a bit jealous of the lemon buttermilk pancakes that my husband orders. They are piled high, super fluffy, and come with a unique lemon syrup that he loves. I order the eggs Benedict on a gluten free bun with scrambled eggs. The sauce is incredible and I have enough for leftovers. I also love the race themed decor and atmosphere. I was staying at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown and ended up enjoying a cocktail at Connor's a few nights in a row. One night I sat outside on the patio for dinner and loved it esp. because the open windows let you enjoy the fresh air while still benefiting from the air conditioning inside, and the covered patio kept it comfortable even in the afternoon sun. I have to say, the Cobb Salad here is hands down the best I've ever had. The bacon on top was rich, thick, and tender (truly mouthwatering) the best piece of bacon in my life!! The dressing and toppings were perfectly balanced, and I'm still thinking about it! I also grabbed one of their signature Old Fashioned to take back to my room. I love Buffalo Trace, and their unique twist on the classic cocktail was excellent. Normally I shy away from restaurants inside hotels, but this brunch place had decent reviews, was literally across the street from the Indiana Conference Center, and we did not have much time. It's a very large space and felt like we were having brunch in a sports bar. The staff seemed busy and we had to wave them down several times. The food also took quite awhile to come out. The menu has the type of breakfast fare you would expect in a sports bar, with the prices bumped up quite significantly. I was here with two coworkers. One of my coworkers ordered the half order of loaded breakfast nachos. It was huge and she definitely did not finish - we honestly should have just ordered a full order of the nachos for the table and shared. The other coworker and I ordered the thick cut bacon eggs benedict. Both of her eggs were runny and she enjoyed it. Neither of my eggs were runny. The short rib nachos had no meat, were piled high with what looked to be Velveeta, the chips were soggy, and they were inedible and disgusting. The burgers were purported to be wagyu beef but were pedestrian and undercooked despite our order. The veggies were not good. The fries were neither crisp nor tasty. We will never order from Conner's again. The $89 bill added insult to injury for such awful, unappealing food. The wait staff were, at best, indifferent. The space is beautiful and much bigger than it looks, and our group occupied a large section in the back by the bar. The blackberry mojitos were delicious, and the spread of food we were treated to was top notch. I really enjoyed everything, and it was a fantastic spread- smoked brisket tacos, pommes puree (perhaps the best mashed potatoes I've ever had,) grilled carrots, lump crab hushpuppies, southern fried chicken and shoestring fries.
