Prices have went way up! The staff did not check up on our table just waited at the front door for more guests to come in but wouldn't take care of current guests. Food was good compared to other buffets but I did find hair in my noodles. The seating was all ripped up a piece of metal was hanging out from one of the railings. The bathrooms wreak couldn't stay in there longer than a minute. Vulgar Graffiti everywhere in there. Literally right after making this post I went to get my kid some ice cream and there was none left and one of the workers came behind me and told me to "get get go shoo move" because I was in her way. Very rude!! Another guest looked at me in awe the way she acted. Then when I was paying my bill the waiter wouldn't let me leave unless I gave her a tip of her liking!! I will never return to this place again!

We visited The Journey Buffet for the first time. It was my oldest bday. The server made a cake for him topped with whipped cream & chocolate drizzle. Sang happy birthday to him. The buffet had a great selection of seafoods. For the younger kids they had a hard time finding some meat choices. This restaurant is geared towards the seafood side. Our kept on the plate removal. Never refilled out drinks. Very expensive to dine here.

Went here for a weekday dinner. Definitely a quantity over quality type of place - kind of expected to be honest. Based on other reviews, there are usually crab legs, roast duck, and a chocolate fountain - none were available this day (in fact, they left a label saying roast duck but they put green beans underneath). They did have prime rib, which was surprisingly good and they also had dragonfruit (albeit underripe), which is extremely rare to find in a Chinese buffet. Everything else was mediocre to bad - most item in the normal buffet trays seem to reheated frozen food or prepackaged mixes from food service companies. They had stations for to-order crepe and noodle bowls, both were fine. You can tell the noodle broth is made from powder. The sushi was freshly prepared but combined mushy rice with limp stuffing/toppings. We had no issues with the service; seemed to be pretty standard for a buffet place. The silverware and tables were a bit on the sticky and grimy side - again, not unexpected for this type of restaurant. Pricing was a bit on the expensive side - $20.99 a person. If you want a lot of food and a lot of variety there's really nothing wrong with going to The Journey.

This restaurant has been around forever. When it opened, it was known for low prices, fresh food and a chocolate fountain surrounded with gargantuan strawberries, marshmallows along with other fruits to dip. While the huge fountain doesn't erupt from the restaurant's center at lunchtime (it maybe dinner only) there's still something for everyone. They have steak, spare ribs, sushi, dessert crepes made to order (limit 2 per person), a full salad bar, soups, pot roast, quesadillas and so much more.

Stopped by for lunch, service was great, food was good but not great. We would rate this place a 3.5 if it was an option.

Clean place but food experience is not like it used to be, yet prices have gone up. Expensive for the quality. Doubtful we will return.

Any good seafood now that they don't have crab legs?

    No, don't bother.

    Is it open?

Yep, it's open. I spent Christmas Day here.

What dishes are not available at lunchtime? I saw on the website certain dishes are only available for dinner.

The crab legs and prime rib are not available at lunch time. There is no lunch on Sunday. All day is considered dinner price. I'm not sure about Saturday.Lunch is much cheaper than dinner and still delicious. There is plenty to choose from in the… Read more

Japanese Lasagna Roll - deep fried crab & shrimp with avocado & cream cheese (so good!) 2. Las Vegas Roll - deep fried salmon & cream cheese (flavorful!!) 3. Fishers Roll - spicy tuna roll (not as good as others but decent enough). I also tried the chicken & shrimp combination dinner plate. The quality of meat, rice, and veggies was top-notch, and I really enjoyed the yum yum and ginger dipping sauces. The restaurant itself is welcoming with cute cherry blossom décor and floral/green faux plants that give it a cozy vibe. Service was attentive and friendly, and there's plenty of free parking since it's in a plaza. My only 2 critiques is 1) that the side salad was very small, and entrées priced around $20 only come with either soup or salad instead of both. 2) They do not have the green low sodium soy sauce. If they were to make these adjustments, it would easily be a 5-star spot for me. All in all, a great experience and I'd happily come back next time I'm in town!

The signage on the front of the building is practically invisible from the road - blink and you'll certainly miss it. The plates and dishes often aren't uniform or the expected stark restaurant-white; they're varied in style and color, perhaps collected over the years. There's no squeeze-bottle or ring-mold plating. Food often appears scooped and served in casual divisions on the plate (think Japanese Thanksgiving). The decor is pretty hodge-podged together. The prices are definitely below market. There's next to no staff. There's no music. I love it. It's amazing. It's an unpretentious, no-frills, exceptionally cozy restaurant that serves what is essentially home-cooked Japanese food - not fine dining, but certainly not standard takeout fare. The sushi is consistently great, and the rest of the menu is more hit than miss. Often not blow-your-socks-off amazing, but typically very good with a kind of "just like mom made it" quality that is deeply comforting and rarely evoked by a restaurant. Beyond that, the owners are kind, the service is quick, and the place is clean. Really no place I'd rather find myself slurping soup on a dark, chilly evening. So long as you go in not expecting it to be something it isn't, you'll have a great time here and enjoy what feels like a home-cooked Japanese meal.
