The workers are friendly and they recognize regulars which is always nice. I absolutely love this place. I work downtown and usually order this for work lunch 1-2 times per month. It comes quickly and they deliver. Stopped in while on a business trip and was pleasantly surprised finding quality sushi in Indiana. The sukura roll was unique and the hot and sour soup was tasty. I've been to Asian Harbor 3 times as a last second thought. I really should think about this place a lot more. During that nasty snow storm the first Saturday in December, the streets were nasty and there was virtually nobody out. I had just dropped some people off for a Christmas concert and I had a couple hours to kill. Miserable weather limited my options plus the age old question "What to get?". It was definitely a "soup day" so I headed for Asian Harbor to get something mundane. Fortunately, the manager (whose name I didn't get) told me it was time for beef noodle soup. I tried it with Udon noodles and wow was it good! I have yet to be disappointed with anything I have ordered. First time was Spicy (extra spicy) Lamb, the second time was Pork Egg Foo Young and now the Beef Noodle Soup. I didn't take any pics as there's nothing sexy about a to-go container. If you're on the west side of downtown Indy, don't sleep on this place. read more

We also got the veggie sushi platter and we appreciated how many vegetarian options there were. But anyways, the veggie sushi platter was good, but the best part was the rolls and we would've MUCH rather had more of the rolls than the other sushi's on the platter. So overall, it's a nice place with a ton of options for the whole fam, and I would definitely recommend. With that, I may award this restaurant with the official Stamp Of Skibidi!!! I have been on the hunt for good Chinese takeout downtown as my partner lives there and I visit frequently. We ordered through Asian Harbor on a Friday night, surprised to see it delivered so quickly and still hot. The size of the menu is enormous, which I should have understood meant trouble. My partner and I both opted for chicken dishes: sesame for myself, General Tso's for him. The dishes were quite literally the exact same, except for the fact that mine had a few sesame seeds sprinkled on top. The sauce was more appropriate for orange chicken or sweet and sour chicken than either of the dishes we actually ordered. My pork fried rice was so dry it was almost inedible. They also could have been more generous with the rice; I've seen most takeout places provide oyster pails full of rice, but here it just came in a cup. The size of the entree was generous, but it didn't make up for the lack of differentiation between dishes. Pleasantly surprised with todays take out from Asian Harbor. I've been here a few times and wanted to try something new. Their Chinese food is pretty decent (huge portions and great variety of bento boxes), the sushi specialty rolls are decadent but pricey. Today I got the yellow curry chicken! I was happy with it, I wish I was offered spice levels because I would have loved if it was just a kick more hot. I had originally ordered the red curry but after talking with the worker I found out the Yellow is much more popular and thus switched. It was a nicely sized portion of curry with veggies. My fortune cookies were very stale. One of them didn't have a fortune in it! Impressive how quickly the order was ready though -- only 15 minutes. Update review. This place has gone down hill some since my previous 5 star review. When that was made, they were offering a decent size authentic Chinese menu that featured many dishes one can't get in downtown indy. Since then, their authentic menu is substantially less. Furthermore, their americanized fare is bland and over sweet (as with majority of americanized Chinese joints) and prices are on high-ish end. Hard to justify ordering americanized Chinese food for same price as nearby thai dishes which are less sweet, more authentic, spicier, higher quality. I do not order this place much at all any longer. Indianapolis is one of only major cities not to have exclusive authentic Chinese restaurant near the city core. There are various places that offer limited menu items but none that have more expansive menu. Asian harbor was on path to being this place prior to covid shutdown and has since retained just a couple of dishes. This location in downtown of major city, nearby ever growing and diversifying iupui campus could be a staple if the featured real chinese food. read more

Surprised at the overall rating for this place on Yelp. Staying downtown with my children, looking for a place that was family friendly but wasn't a chain. Staff was super friendly, dinning room wasn't full, however, their take out business was super steady the entire time we were there. This is my go to place for Chinese delivery in Indianapolis and it hits right every time! It is very nice that they have Japanese options too, so the menu has a lot to offer! The sushi is delicious, the crab Rangoon is a must order, I personally love the shrimp egg rolls but the pork egg rolls are great too. I wanted this to be a good review. I really did. I ordered twice in the last week. I received everything, as ordered, and it was well packaged. It's a bit annoying when the plastic lid sticks to the top of the bigger sushi rolls. The delicious sauces and toppings stick to the lid and are removed when you lift the lid off. It's a world-wide sushi take out hazard. My first order was two rolls and a Tom Yum Soup. The rolls were average, but the one that touted "seared tuna," was not appetizing. The tuna on top of the roll was heated (not seared) and kind of grey-white. It didn't taste bad, but it looked awful. The soup was dreadful. It was bland and a weird color. The veggies and shrimp inside were fresh and delicious. The first run wasn't so bad that I didn't want to try again. My second order was three rolls and Tom Kai Soup. The rolls were not awesome. They were not rolled well and were falling apart. This might have been due to the number of pieces crammed into a small box and the sticky rice becoming one in transit. It tasted okay, but was a bit of a mess. The nori was dark and very flaky, which indicates good product. The Tom Kai soup was even more terrible than I could have expected. It wasn't white and creamy, like I expected. Also, it tasted like vomit. I know that's a really awful thing to say and I know it wasn't vomit, but it tasted and smelled reminiscent of vomit. We ordered delivery (Uber) and the only thing edible was the rice. Thought it was a great idea Chinese and Hibachi, a little something for everyone. Potstickers are my joy but these were doughy and undercooked. The dipping sauce had no flavor, like watery beef broth with a shake of soy sauce. Chicken and Filet mignon Hibachi was horrible. A waste of what appeared to be good meat was drowning in a hot liquid with no flavor vegetables and the poor meat had a texture only a 2yr old or 90yr old would like. It was horrible mush that long ago may have had a chicken or steak flavor. The vegetables could only be defined by vague color the hot water everything sat in had a greasy film and kept spilling. It was soup NOT Hibachi. No sauce came with the meal and soy sauce could not even save it. Also ordered a chicken and broccoli which looked good but again had no flavor except for a hint of chicken and overcooked floppy broccoli. The only thing we ate was the rice. It was supposed to be chicken fried but I never found any chicken maybe chicken broth fried rice with a few peas (5) and a small piece of onion. THIS was the only item of an $80 meal not including the delivery we ate and only because I didn't have any instant rice on hand.
