I've been here plenty of times before but this was my first time trying their veggie lo mein. The flavor was bold and the noodles were of perfect consistency however the edamame and cabbage was way over cooked. I wasn't a fan of my food. I ordered the combination meal with lo mein and veggie fried rice. Instead of the eggroll that comes with it. I substituted it for spring rolls. My total was almost $16. I took one bite of the spring roll and it was mushy. I took a few bites of my meal and it my taste buds weren't a fan. I ended up throwing it all away. read more

Well, I won't be going there again. I guess I'll go back to making my own because I do know how and rolling up my own eggroll because I know how to do that as well. I see that's just the way it goes these days thankfully I know how to cook, it's a little work and sometimes I like to eat out I work 5 days a week. I thought it would be nice to treat myself to a shrimp eggroll and a small shrimp fried rice that's not even a pint! 12 bucks ridiculous! And as far as taste goes, it was all right. I was in training for work in Lawrence and had an hour for lunch. I called in for a pick up order. I loved they had a packed lunch menu. Their lunch special of General Tso chicken was only $7. The lady told me that the order would take 10 minutes. From where I was took less than 10 minutes to get there and my order was ready when I got there. We were eating here almost daily when it first opened. Food quality was superior and we felt blessed that finally, we have delicious food right near where we live. As with all good things people get greedy. About a year later the food quality is crap and suddenly Wok N Roll is just another sub-standard Chinese take out joint. Things are average at best. Their soup is watered down and no longer has that delicious rich taste it always had. Their food is suffering from poor-quality ingredients. It just doesn't taste good anymore. Welcome to the average line of "nothing special" restaurants. We will miss what you used to have. I do not recommend this place anymore. Let's be real: you have a LOT of options when it comes to Chinese food pretty much anywhere. I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted recently and I'm SO glad Yelp helped me choose this place. I recently moved to Lawrence from the Warren Park area, which means my husband and I had to begin the process of locating our new go-tos. At the top of the list of things to find was a new Chinese takeout place, as that's number one on our list of "treat" dinners. With its insanely convenient location to us, Wok'N Roll was the first local Chinese place for us to try. The prices were certainly a decent selling point as well. However, I don't think this will be our new go to. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and the portions are decent. It's just not anything phenomenal. If I had any complaint, I think it would be the crab Rangoon. They were rather small and their wrappers were thin, which reminded me of the kind you might get in the frozen food section of the supermarket. Of course, I realize the age of Covid may not be the best time for any restaurant to make a first impression as supply chains have been greatly impacted. So, I think we'll try some other local places a circle back to Wok'N Roll in the future. So, if you're in the area or they are your best bet for delivery (they open earlier than other Chinese restaurants in Lawrence), give them a try. They might make your preferred dishes well. However, I don't recommend going out of your way to try them. read more

So I heard about this place while out and about in Fishers, Indiana. Random convo with someone that I didn't even know about where to find good Chinese food and I was guided to Wok N Roll. I ordered more than I could even eat but thats what happens when your hungry. The Crab Rangoons which were soooo delicious! I also ordered Chicken and Broccoli, House Special Fried Rice and Egg Drop Soup. Everything was good. Hungry on the east side of Indy? Well, there are plenty of affordable places to choose from. And on this work lunch excursion with stomach growling, I drove to jimmy johns for my usual. Pulling into the parking lot though, I spotted the newish adjoining Chinese restaurant. Took a quick look at the menu taped up on the window, and I decided to give it a go. Inside, I walked up to the counter and placed my to-go order for the Hunan chicken. Guy behind the counter was prompt and courteous. There are a few tables for eating in, and there was a couple seated at one. There's one TV and a huge fridge with quite the assortment of beverages to choose from. My order came out piping hot and quick in a brown paper bag. It was still nice and warm back at work. I managed to devour it all in the confines of my cubicle. Definitely a filling meal, and all for $6 (incl tax)! Only a nap afterwards would have made my lunchtime better! Giving it a 5 for a no-frills, cheap and tasty Chinese lunch option. Rice was undercooked completely white even ask them to re-fry it still was white General stos chicken was completely water down and the meat was undercooked and squishy I asked for a vegetable fried rice and only had broccoli lettuce and onion no carrots no peas I paid $30 for a general stos chicken and three small rices . and their fortune cookies are stale. We are regulars at Wok'N Roll. We usually order ahead and carry out. Occasionally, we go inside and order to go. Either way, the service is always polite and fast (usually about 10 minutes to get our order). They have a nice variety of fried rice, too, from vegetarian to plain to pork. The menu is the standard fare you find at about every Asian restaurant, but the fast service and friendly employees make Wok'N Roll stand out a bit from the rest of the pack. read more
