First off there is a building in front of this one being worked on so the parking lot is a bit of a bear to deal with. I also dont think the exterior pictures on yelp are current since this location had 2 garage doors up front and there was smoking possible inside. If you are a smoker thats great for you! I am not but my wife is so finding this by accident was fun since they could smoke @ the table while watching football and not disappearing all the time to go outside haha! Overall it is pretty open inside with some dart machines i have never seen before by a different vendor which looked cool but also a couple normal Bullshooter ones. Came over to the Sidelines Sports Pub after Cooper Hawk closed early for holiday hours. We wanted to finish watching the Colts game. The atmosphere of the pub was decent, the bartender greeted us immediately upon us sitting down at the bar. We didnt order food, but we did order drinks. On Thursdays they have $3 well-drinks, so I got tequila and soda. It was strong and good. The vibe is darts boards, pool tables, karaoke machine of some type. They do have space for live bands to come in. I loved the open garage doors but they were closed due to season. We would definitely come back again. read more

If you're ok with a smoking bar, this is a wonderful place in Avon!!! Under newer ownership (took over July 2022) this place has done a 180! We love coming here on Sundays, they have a brunch menu, small pitchers of Mimosas which are delicious!! Our favorite is their classic burger with cheese, so damn good!!! The clientele is much better than it used to be! Lots of pool tables, darts, sports on everywhere with multiple TVs. Been trying to find an everyday bar we can just visit and have a good time and I think we found one in sidelines. We came with my brother and his wife and we had a great time . We went on a Friday and the DJ played a great assortment of music that appealed to everyone. On Friday and Saturdays they have 7 dollar pitchers in a assortment of flavors . Such as blue raspberry ,sour apple ,strawberry lemonade and others as well . The food was good typical bar food wings nachos and a assortment of wraps . I want to give this place a higher rating but in some ways this place is a 1 or 2 star because sadly, as other reviews have stated, this place still allows smoking and it stinks inside...sigh, hopefully someday this will change but until then, I don't see myself going here very often. It appeared that the bartender was the only person serving in the whole restaurant but she did a really good job despite having a lot of tables/people at her bar. I would have expected service to be slower than it was but it was a fine pace for a lazy Sunday lunch. She earns 5 stars! We got lots of beer and some loaded fries to start and those were pretty good, good size to split 4 ways. I ordered the club sandwich and it was fine, I took out the third piece of middle bread because I don't think it adds anything to club sandwiches! It was not bad for the price and I got waffle fries with them and those were actually really good! I really wouldn't mind coming here more regularly, they have 32 oz Summer Shandy on special right now!! The tater tots were great and came with a generous quantity of toppings including shredded cheese, cilantro, onions, jalapeños and chicken. We brushed most of the chicken off, however because it was very over-cooked. Not a bad snack though. The atmosphere at Sidelines is usually pretty lively. They have plenty to do including pool tables and darts. Last night, they had a DJ who was not very good. He kept having constant technical difficulties causing the speakers to squeak. I started yelling " .. step out side and throw your card in my face now boy " Or stand like a man and fight now . Next thing I knew his friendly" new " waitress said " are you racist ? " I have had several problems with you" . I have never se en this woman the whole time in several months of me attending this bar "I looked at her and said screw this " give me my tab I'm leaving . Then Female owner of the bar " approached me saying . I need you to leave . I said you're too late , I'm paying my tab and leaving . then when I left no tip " the waitress that lied on me said .. are you serious ?? why would leave her a tip ?? Especially for a bar maIid that lied on me ?? Then two of them followed me out side . The owner said , you are barred for 30 days . I don't bother , I'm not coming back . Went back a few months later " almost 7 months later . Thinking the waitres wasn't gonna last long because of her lying . the female owner said " you are permanently barred .. all I have to say is .. go woke go broke .. they aren't getting my money anymore . several times I have attended this bar only to be treated like a second class citizen by several far left people in here if your a veteran if you go in here ,,dont wear any veteran gear ,, if you get treated bad ,, it's on you.. the bar is obviously far left . Living on the west side we lack local unique places to go for a drink. We decided to head to Sidelines for a quick drink and snack. Sidelines is in a strip mall and looks small from the outside but when you walk in the space opens up! Lots of pool tables, darts, a dance area, and a dinning area. The service at Sidelines is always top notch. I tend to sit at the bar, just easier. There are typically different drink specials - Thursday has $1 beer. The menu has tons! I rather enjoy the tater tot nachos! The only down fall to Sidelines is that it still allows smoking. Sometimes you are able to find a corner of the bar where no one is smoking but when it is crowded the smoke can be a bit overwhelming. This bar is a great place to stop in for a drink after work. They also have a pretty good menu. I've ate lunch here several times and haven't had a bad experience yet. This bar has great alcohol specials through the week. They even have $1 domestic bottles on Thursdays! That's pretty hard to find! Definitely a fan of their food. Everything on the menu is wonderful- my faves include tuna melt, buffalo wrap, and chicken pannini (oh my god so good!). Plus the portion size of most everything is good enough to share with another. The other two bars in Avon, Boonies (which won't last too long, judging by the lack of cars in the parking lot) and Legends which is even worse in smokiness, don't really stack up.... Sideline's has a live band Saturday nights but the music is played SO loud it's almost unbearable...I steer clear usually. Being new to the Avon area, we frequent sidelines on a Friday nights. Not too far from our house, it has great bar food. We usually get the naked wings and potato skins. Friday nights the dj spins a lot to hip hop and club music. Tequila sunrises are on special and we have a good time dancing and people watching. The establishment itself is decent and well laid out (not cramped). Has pool tables as well so that is a plus for me since that is what I expect in a sports bar. However halfway thru Monday night football, jukebox got turned on and service came to a crawl. One waitress/bartender, who literally sat at tables and chatted. Food was decent but slow. One plus, for smokers, is you can smoke "inside" as long as the large garage type doors are open and you enjoy mosquitoes and flies. It's cheap for not being a dive bar. Tried the italian beef sandwich based on a review here, but it was dry and not too flavorful. It definitely needed the peppers that came on the side. They were out of bottlecaps, which was pretty disappointing. The seasoned fries that I had instead were above average. As covered in other reviews, the cigarette smoke is a factor here that many diners will find objectionable. The bar has Sun King Cream Ale on tap, which is a favorite, and prices were reasonable, so I won't go to two stars. There are plenty of TVs, so I would rate it a good place to watch games. In the end, there are several places around that I will try before coming back to Sidelines. read more

Better than average bar food. The tenderloin was very good (not one of those fritters everyone calls a tenderloin!). Wife had the Sidelines breaded chicken sandwich (Swiss, ham and bacon on top of a nice breaded piece of chicken). Smoking is allowed inside, that is the only drawback. read more
