    Salmon Florentine with green beans

Upon arrival, you feel the classic midwestern comfort food aura. And boy did it live up to that description. Fresh bread with a pesto olive oil tapenade that you just don't see at too many casual restaurants these days. The French onion soup was hearty and bursting with flavor. The salmon, whoa baby don't get me started. The mushroom cream sauce and spinach paired perfectly with the salmon and green beans. They're known for the prime rib, but I don't know how I can order anything other than what I just got!

What a hidden gem. From the minute you walk In The decor and service are great. The ambiance is great and the overall vibe is upscale. The menu is full of great options. We started out with the wings and they were done perfectly. We both fit steaks and they were cooked well and very flavorful. Our waitress was in top of every and made sure we were well taken care of. Will be back next time I'm on this side of town for sure.

We ate at the Library and all we have to say is don't judge a book by its cover!!! We are visiting from out of town, saw some good reviews on this place. While running errands we drove past this place and weren't too impressed with the aesthetic of the outside. If we didn't see the reviews, we probably would've never came. But Kailey our server was great. Super attentive. We ordered the prime rib and the filet, both cooked medium and everything was great!

Met promptly, seated promptly. The Cajun chicken Alfredo was fantastic! Normally my lunch haunt but my schedule hasn't allowed. Tonight, dinner and it was worth the trip. Try it, you'll like it.

    ribeye

Came here as it was one of the few restaurants near our hotel by the airport. The area around the restaurant looks bleak. When you enter, it's pretty cute. The entrance looks like a library--that's where it ends. I felt like it would've been cooler if the rest of the place was decorated like a library too. There were a good amount of people coming to eat dinner. The wait was long, around 35 minutes for our food. Our group of 3 each got a ribeye. For my side, I got a Caesar salad and mashed potatoes. The ribeye had quite a bit of fat on it, but after a long travel day, it was quite good. Our server apologized several times for the wait. She was very friendly. Overall I think the Library can use a refresher in terms of looks but it's otherwise a solid spot for a hearty dinner.

    Vegan puttanesca

Decided to try this place for dinner since it looked like the only niceish restaurant within walking distance of my airport hotel. It's a cool building. The themed decoration is strongest in the foyer, but the whole restaurant has a charm to it. There are a few rooms in the house which are somewhat secluded from each other, and I was in the bar area with just a handful of tables, which made the place feel less busy to me than it actually was - I was surprised at how quiet it was on a Friday night until I was leaving and saw that there were more diners in other areas of the restaurant that weren't visible from my seat. The food was pretty good. I first ordered a draft oat stout by New Holland Brewing, which was a very nice beer poured perfectly. Complimentary bread and pesto were brought out before my entree. The bread was so good - it was very soft and fresh, brushed with a flavourful herb butter. My entree was the vegan puttanesca. The dish had a good variety of vegetables all cooked well, and the marinara sauce was tasty (lots of garlic) but so brothy that I felt like I needed a spoon to eat it, but alas no spoon was provided. The waitress did offer more bread but I didn't feel hungry enough, so I declined and just tried to get as much as I could with my fork. The cheesecake with chocolate sauce for dessert was very good too - the cheesecake was rich and a little tangy but not overly dense or sweet. I appreciated that their dessert menu has both smaller and larger desserts, so I could get something from the small bites menu for just myself. I think my entree was too expensive for what it was - chickpea pasta and vegetables in marinara sauce - but the prices made more sense for the drinks, dessert, and meat/seafood entrees. The service throughout the meal was great. My waitress was attentive and very nice. She checked in often to see if I needed anything else but was also patient with me and other parties. The hostess was also pleasant. I didn't have to wait long after ordering to get my food either. Given that its located right by a handful of airport hotels, I expected more of a traveler vibe, but it seemed like the crowd was mostly locals, which actually makes sense to me after my visit. It's a really nice, kind of old-school place with good food, and it could fit the bill whether you want a casual but quality meal, or a nice night out.

And only a half block walk from the Omni Hotel we were staying in! Food (5/5): Well, this place would not have lasted since 1902 if the food wasn't delicious. And it did not disappoint. We have been eating so much lately that we ordered an appetizer and main and the kitchen split everything in half. Bread: Delicious fresh made rolls of onion and pumpernickel. The best thing was the cheese lavosh crackers, which were hiding in the bottom - we almost missed them! They said they purchase the lavosh, then put garlic butter and cheese on them and bake them. Just wonderful! Shrimp cocktail - Of course we had to try this! The large shrimps were hiding under a mound of freshly grated horseradish and tomato paste to make a spicy, eye watering cocktail sauce. Iconic indeed! The main came with "bean soup" which sounded not great, but it was surprisingly good. It had chunks of ham and carrots and tasted more like split pea soup. The main also came with a side - we opted for the loaded baked potato and it was perfectly cooked. Nothing like a great baked potato with sour cream, cheese, and bacon! Filet mignon - We got the 8oz (medium rare) and the kitchen split it in half for us. I also got it Oscar Style, which included lump crab, asparagus, and béarnaise sauce (lovely butter sauce!) Service (5/5): David was an amazing server. Tux laden and professional to the core. The other servers did not let an empty plate sit on the table for more than a few seconds after we finished. I wish that every server was as kind and professional as David. Ambiance (5/5): 1920's crooners singing filled the dark wood intimate spaces. It's a classic steakhouse!

The main floor dining like a lunch vibe, but it turned out to be a cozy choice. For appetizers, we started with the cornbread after our focaccia was unfortunately not the best. Seemed to be over-proofed. The cornbread was absolutely phenomenal and a must-have! A special shoutout to our waitress, Arya, who noticed our disappointment with the focaccia and generously brought us the cornbread on the house. That kind of service is truly memorable! I also had the beets and peaches salad, which was refreshing but a tad overdressed. Still, I couldn't resist finishing the entire dish. For my main course, I ordered the lasagna, and I can confidently say it was one of the best I've ever had. It wasn't overloaded with cheese and instead complemented by mushrooms and pesto, and surprisingly light on the stomach. My husband chose the filet and rated it an 8/10, saying he thoroughly enjoyed it. We were so full by the end that we skipped dessert. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful, and the staff was incredibly attentive throughout our meal. The only downside was the atmosphere; coming from Chicago, we expected a more bustling vibe on a Thursday night. It seems Indianapolis is a bit quieter during the week. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience, and hats off to Arya for her exceptional service!
