My husband and I stopped in here last Tuesday after attending a tasting event at Storied Company. We were in the mood for steak and haven't visited the downtown location of Harry & Izzy's before and decided to stop in for a late dinner. Finding parking was really rough due to the Fever game going on and event parking prices (and also basically all of the street parking has been stripped away for valet and no-parking zones). We lucked out after circling around several times and finally found street parking around the corner, but prepare to pay parking garage rates or for valet. The restaurant was still very busy at 8:30 due to a large group that rented out a lot of the dining space, but we were able to get a table in the bar area right away and could watch the Fever game while we ate. Service was top notch and the food was even better! We've never had a bad experience at Harry & Izzy's. I got a ribeye and my husband got a New York strip and we split the roasted broccolini and a brownie sundae. Perfect dinner to end a perfect night out downtown. Can't wait to come back. read more

The service and food were incredible. My wife said her steak was one of the best steaks she has very had. They take food allergies very seriously! read more

My NY strip medium rare cooked perfectly, redskin mashed potatoes amazing, fried Brussels sprouts delish and the shrimp cocktail was good and had a kick (but to me it's not worth the price). Great atmosphere, staff and service! My wife and I were in town for the Garth Brooks concert (AMAZING) and had made reservations for a Sunday at 5:45, we got done with the concert at 4:45 and just decided to see if we could get a seat anyways. We told the hostess we had a reservation but were there very early. She asked if we could be done by 6:10 and said that wouldn't be a problem. read more

Wow wow wow, that shrimp cocktail is incredible and slaps you in the face. The horseradish is strong but so delicious. I would come back just to get that again. The shrimp were massive too. I also got the filet mignon slider which was amazing too. I got medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The servers were phenomenal and the overall place is very classy and elegant but friendly. read more

I heard good things about this restaurant so I decided to try it out before flying home. I actually tried the location at the Indianapolis Airport. The ambiance was chill, it's an airport but the decor is really nice. My server was nice and friendly. As for the food, I started with the fried ravioli which was delicious. The marinara sauce was really good. I had the grilled barbecue chicken and vegetables for my entree. Both were very tasty. I washed it down with a cold Stella. I will definitely try this restaurant again when I return for business. Next time I will try the downtown location. Make your reservation with confidence! read more

My friend was in town and we decided to meet at Harry and Izzy's for lunch. Neither one of us have been there for lunch so we were not sure what to expect but after looking at the menu we decided to give it a try. Their lunch menu was not too bad and had good options as well as the regular menu. The restaurant was nice and clean and the ambiance was casual but romantic if needed. There was a bar area also and outside seating. The staff was really nice and we were seated immediately upon arrival. We had reservations but there was plenty of seating for walk-ins. We started with drinks and ordered strawberry lemon drops. I normally get salt around the rim of my drinks but forgot to ask and the drinks came with sugar around the rim. The drinks overall were pretty good but were more on the sweeter side than I would like. There were three of us and we all ordered the legacy lunch combo which comes with two sliders of your choice, soup or salad and fries or chips. I ordered the chicken sliders with a side Caesar salad and fries. The salad was great but I would have rather it had more of the leafy part of the lettuce and more croutons but overall the salad was good, the chicken sliders were really good and the bun was really soft and warm. My friend ordered the shrimp sliders with the prime rib chili and she said the chili was really good and her shrimp sliders were good. Overall it was a great place for lunch and would recommend. read more

I really enjoyed my visit to Harry and Izzy's while I was in town for a conference! The rest is very conveniently located, and we were able to easily walk to the restaurant from the convention center. We had a larger group and were able to book a reservation in advance. We were seated in a private room for our meal, which was perfect with a big group. The staff was very friendly and helpful, making sure that everybody had any questions answered. I appreciate that we were given to wait staff for our group size which made things move very fast and efficiently. They have some great lunch offerings and deals to get the most out of the menu. I really liked the lunch combo with the shrimp cocktail, their homemade sauce really packs a punch! We also had a special birthday and they were able to bring out a dessert for our birthday girl, and that was a great part of the experience as well. read more

What a surprise lunch at Harry & Izzy's!!!! So to preface this I was asked if I like shrimp cocktail....oh yes please!!! I wasn't warned that it was hot as hell and the way I eat shrimp cocktail it is one big bite. Needless to say there were tears. After the tears dried there was a smile. The best shrimp cocktail ever!!!! The amount of horseradish in the cocktail sauce is unreal. DON'T TAKE ONE BIG BITE!!!! This is your warning!!! It cleared any sinus issues I had for sure. We ordered a prime rib sandwich and the Emerald Kale Salad. The Kale salad was so full of flavor with aged manchego, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, cilantro vinaigrette, and peanut satay sauce. Highly recommend. The service was amazing by the way. Top notch for sure. The ambiance is classy, crisp and clean. The Prime Rib Sandwich looked amazing as well. So glad I went and thank you Harry & Izzy's for the most entertaining Shrimp Cocktail experience ever!!! read more

Harry & Izzy's is a sister restaurant to St. Elmo's. Peyton Manning is an investor and partner of the company. #18 had good taste in food because the shrimp cocktail is delicious. Spicy and sinus clearing but world famous for being so! They do have a milder version if you can't take the heat. The service was great! Our waiter was nice and very friendly and helpful. The filet sliders were tender and so good! The chips came with a really good French onion dip! I wish I had the recipe for it! The Caesar salad was fresh and the croutons were great. They were perfect and not rock hard like most restaurants. The star though is the shrimp cocktail! Chilled and delicious dipped in that spicy hot horseradish cocktail sauce. No other place can compare to it. It's made fresh daily and it's just the best!! Now, I need to go to the original St. Elmo's and try it there. Yum! One day! read more

1/21/26- special 2000th review!-***** Arrived and had dinner reservations at 6 pm for six people.. Staff was very attentive and professional . I went with the prime rib sandwich and asked if I could get half French fries half onion rings..(I think I ended with a whole order of onion rings).. Prime rib sandwich with the au jus and fries was very good! Thanks fellow Yelper Katherine A. for posting a review which led me to the French dip! Also got their signature shrimp cocktail..mild sauce.. Sauce was not too spicy but then I only drizzled some on top. A nice shrimp cocktail - not too big and not too small. Perfect sized appetizer. Hubby went with the New York steak.. (which they butterflied).. unfortunately, it was cooked more than requested.. One guest ordered the turkey burger, one had a salad and two had the steaks. Desserts were a brownie sundae- decent and moist- One ordered the cheesecake- one with the special bread pudding .. read more

Great service and a wonderful location! My hubby and I definitely had to try the shrimp cocktail! The Shrimp cocktail to me was not worth the $21 however, the shrimp cocktail sauce definitely will clear your sinuses or a stuffy nose. Very strong but a great taste. I landed on the steak tacos. I am a taco snob. These were some of the best tacos I have ever had in my life something about the sauce. The waiter let me know that the tacos won a national competition. I can definitely see why plenty of food delicious would recommend. read more

In town for a convention and went there two nights in a row. No reservations? Try the bar. The four tops can be converted to six if needed. Everyone on staff is fantastic. First night, by myself: Old Fashioned Toasted Ravioli 8 oz filet with peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes. Excellently prepared and everything was delicious. Second night, part of six. I wish I could remember the waitress's name because she was awesome. 2 toasted ravioli. 2 shrimp cocktails. I ordered the Izzy Style New York Strip and I wouldn't orders it again. The steak is so good here and all this pepper and sauce isn't needed. read more

Harry and Izzy's is the companion restaurant to the world famous Saint Elmo's steakhouse. It features many of the same types of food, including premium aged steaks and of course, the well-known shrimp cocktail that everyone raves about at Saint Elmo's. The name of this restaurant is a nod to two best friends who owned an operated Saint Elmo's for years here in Indianapolis. there are several locations in the city, including one at the airport. You can expect the same high-quality service and attention to the culinary details at each place. Sometimes parking can be a little tricky in downtown Indianapolis, but with some preplanning and thought it shouldn't be too difficult. I would recommend trying to make a reservation prior to arriving. this restaurant is committed to being disability accessible. read more

I can't recommend this place enough. My group was in town for a conference and we decided to do a group lunch here. It was fantastic! The services was great, the food was top notch and it was also my birthday which they were kind enough to acknowledge. I loved have the ability to order the lunch special which gave me the opportunity to try so many things. I had such a hard time choosing so this was perfect. I was able to try their signature shrimp cocktail which was so good! VERYYYY Spicy but after the burn wears off it tastes so good! This portion size was more than enough and I was stuffed afterwards. I also highly recommend the French onion soup. This is one of the best soups I've ever tasted. I can't wait to come back to Indiana again so I can come back to this restaurant!! read more

Our group of 12 came in for a Monday night dinner. We were seated upstairs which is a bit more basic than the downstairs seating with its lighting and bar. Service was provided by 2 people, both attentive and polite. My old fashioned cocktails were well-crafted. The complimentary bread was buttery and flavorful. While I don't eat shrimp, I tried the famous cocktail sauce on a cracker and enjoyed the zing. I loved my wedge salad - maybe my favorite part of the meal. The prime rib sandwich is another favorite, especially for a person that doesn't want steak (or the cost of it). It came with fries. Sides are ala carte. Brussel sprouts were fantastically crispy. The sides felt somewhat unneeded though and it felt like a lot of money went to waste. Be mindful of your entrees coming with sides and that they're big for sharing. We were too stuffed for dessert - plus the bread pudding I'd have wanted took 20 minutes to prepare. If you're going to have some, this is the one to pick. read more

We visited Indianapolis from Milwaukee the other weekend to see a concert. Two friends of ours from Ohio suggesting getting together for dinner and strongly recommended Harry & Izzy's. I'm sure glad they did. This was an exceptional experience all around. Our server was top-notch in all regards -- friendly, informative, and attentive. We tried a variety of cocktails in our lengthy stay. Elmo Cola, Old Fashioned...they were great. The "world famous" St Elmo shrimp cocktail is worthy of its title. Holy cow. I've had St Elmo cocktail sauce from the store, but the one they serve in the restaurant is an entirely different experience. Every single bite I took resulted in a blast of horseradish heat shooting up my nostrils, but it was addicting -- I couldn't stop eating it. Best shrimp cocktail I've had in my life...by a mile. And the steak. I feel like I'm full of hyperbole here but it was also one of the best restaurant steaks I've had. The steak itself was made perfectly, but I think what really brought it all together was the orange brandy butter sauce. I'm sure we'll come back to Indianapolis...and Harry & Izzy's will be a certain stop. read more

I ordered their lunch special prime ribeye with mashed potatoes and signature brownie and it was only about $50 total *ordered takeout). The steak was cooked well, a good medium rare and easy to cut with the plastic cutlery, as it was tender as well. The mashed potatoes with pieces of potato skin in it was better than I expected. Very buttery, creamy, and paired nicely with the steak. Lastly, the signature brownie was interestingly good. The pecans in added a nice different texture to the brownies I normally have and the ice cream that it came with was delightful. It was light and tasted like it was made in house. Also, staff here was friendly despite it being quite busy in the afternoon. read more

In town for a work conference, we brought a large group of 12 for dinner. Harry & Izzy's is the sister spot to St. Elmo. Same pedigree, but with a bigger dining room and broader menu. Food: We started with brussel sprouts and calamari. Both were flavorful and well prepared. For my entrée, I ordered the ribeye "Izzy's Way" (pepper crusted and served in a bath of steak sauce). Normally I avoid steak sauce, but this was excellent and worth ordering in Indy. Sides of mushrooms and broccolini were just okay. Dessert stole the show. The banana bread pudding was phenomenal. Easily the best bread pudding I've had anywhere. The local black coffee paired perfectly. Service and Atmosphere: Service was attentive and smooth, even for a big group. The dining room has a warm, lively atmosphere without being overwhelming. A great place to bring colleagues or friends for a solid steakhouse experience. Bottom line: If you are downtown and want a great steak dinner, Harry & Izzy's is worth it. Go for the ribeye Izzy's Way, but do not leave without trying the banana bread pudding. read more

Ordered delivery for my wife who had to stay over the weekend on a business trip to Indy. So, perhaps a little unusual, this is her review of the dinner. Started with the classic shrimp cocktail. Excellent, plump fresh shrimp and the famous St Elmos cocktail sauce that met all expectations. House salad was also great, got the cilantro vinagrette. The filet ordered medium, was delivered rare. Of course there's no way to ask the kitchen to give it a bit more cook. But anyone would think an upscale steakhouse would know the basics about steak temp. Very disappointing. The potato side, smashed red potatoes suprisingly didn't travel well either. So fabulous start, then a crash and burn for the main course. Next time we'd go downtown to St Elmos and skip the Harry & Izzy's experience. read more

Service is outstanding! Wes, our server recommended so many delicious things! We were not disappointed! His nice, easy going personality matched his professionalism. He has a great sense of humor too! Dinner was delicious and we're so happy to have tried this steakhouse. Came here for a team lunch with my job. We had to enter through the now-abandoned Circle Center Mall, which had an odd odor. Once we made it inside the restaurant, it took a while to be seated, even with a reservation but everyone was really nice and did their best to seat all of us as fast as possible. My recent visit to Harry & Izzy's was a good one. From the classic spicy shrimp cocktail and on, everything tasted good, the drinks were well crafted and the service was just right. The beef meatball appetizer was also good, with some spice included with the other classic flavors. The Cod was really good, served blackened with their terrific remoulade, lightly buttered green beans left room for the highlight, the Woodford Bread Pudding. Every once in a while you've got to kick it back to the OG fine dining lunch spot in downtown Indy. They actually have very reasonable lunch options! They have a 15, 20, and 25 dollar lunch combo. I got the 25 and it came with salmon, fries, a small Caesar salad, and some of the world-famous shrimp cocktail! I recommend asking for some saltines if you like the cocktail sauce because putting it all on two shrimps is a bold move! Would be very hot hot to spread it out. I found it to be a good deal. While at the convention center for a large conference that we were working at, a few of us came to St Elmo's right at 4, when it opened to grab a spot at the bar and try their "famous" shrimp, but the line was ridiculously long outside, so we came here, to Harry & Izzy's instead, since it's the same chain. Walking in, we quickly found a couple of seats at the bar and upon being greeted by the bartender, I asked her what she likes to make and he response was "draft beer." To which I said no bartender should say that, especially in a nicer place like this with all the spirits they have. She then said wine too. This just told me she wasn't a very good bartender, rather an order taker who just pumps out orders with no focus on customer service nor providing a good experience. Service was very mixed the entire time we were there. While there, we also tried their famous shrimp, ordering 6 pieces. At the same time we ordered that, we asked for the fried ravioli and also the bacon. The ravioli and two orders of the bacon came out soon after and when we said we only ordered one order of bacon, she said "oh yeah" and asked if we wanted this second order and when we said not if we had to pay for it, she took it - Another poor service and training example from her... What's she going to do with it once it was sat in front of us? Hopefully not serve it to someone else! The bacon tasted great! The shrimp was over done being covered in that cocktail sauce. The flavor of the sauce was decent, but not stronger/spicier than Eddie V's atomic horseradish in their cocktail sauce. Drinks during our visit were ok, but nothing special. Overall, based on this experience and what we heard from others about this place and St Elmo's, this chain seems to have rested on their laurels and long history and does little to continue providing great service and experience. read more
