    Porterhouse steak cooked medium rare
    Laura H.

My husband & I came tonight for the first time. He has always passed it while driving for work & wanted to try it. We arrived at 8pm on New Year's Eve, and didn't know we needed reservations due to never being here. The host was amazing & bussed a table for us so we can get seated. Our server was very busy but did a great job as well. The atmosphere is like most steakhouses, wood, neat decor that you'd see in a barn or around cowboys. I thought it was pretty. The music was there but not over abundant where you couldn't hear & the music was good. Now, let's get down to the food, we had the appetizer that was tator tots, these aren't your normal tots, they were huge & magnificent! Very Delicious. Our steak order came with a salad, soup, roll & a side. My husband got the porterhouse steak & he said it was very good, cooked medium rare perfectly, & was well seasoned. I ordered the filet & wow it was so good. The portion was big, it was seasoned well & not over seasoned & cooked perfectly. We had so much food & left with leftovers for tomorrow - our server wrapped it in aluminum foil & shaped it like a bull, That was cool. We will definitely return, I highly recommend this place if you want a great steak.

The service is very good. We went on a Tuesday. I had the filet and my husband had the surf and turf. The steaks were cooked well. The cook favors the rare side. The lobster was amazing. The bartender was great - we had a cosmo and espresso martini. The onion soup was good. My only complaint really is that the restrooms need to be updated badly. And the soap was out. The place was very quaint and warm feeling. Small type feel.

A very old place. The bathrooms are old. Parking is extremely limited. The only meat I could order medium rare was the steak tips. I could have had a better meal at longhorn steak house! Truely.. no seasoning, VERY BLAN food. Sorry South siders you don't have a Nalyas or The Salt or Harry & Izzys. So much better steak places out there!

My husband picked Bynums for his birthday dinner, we have never been here before. We got there about 5:15pm, people were there but still had quite a few empty tables. Our server was a tall man and I don't remember his name. He grabbed our drink and appetizer order. They had coconut shrimp as the special appetizer. We received 6 coconut shrimp and a sauce that was fantastic! Our server brought over some bread and butter which was also very good. My husband ordered a New York strip with baked potato. It also came with onion soup and salad. I ordered the roasted chicken with baked potato, and I also got the onion soup and salad. Our soup came out first and it was very similar to French onion soup except the cheese was on the bottom, very good in my opinion. Our salads arrived and it was a mixed greens salad with onions and tomatoes. Our food arrived and looked really good, I was hungry so I dived in. Hubby said his steak was cooked perfectly. My chicken was slightly crispy on the outside but moist inside, very good! After we finished our food, we asked to see the dessert menu. Good selection of cheese cakes, cakes and cobbler. We went with the peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream. It came out warm and it was delicious! We had a great experience with great service and amazing food!! We will definitely be back!

I know a lot of folks swear by this place, but I can only give it an enthusiastic 'MEH'. I visit occasionally when someone else really wants to come here. The interior is just so gloomy. Not sure if it is supposed to be romantic? If it is, it's missing the point. As others have mentioned the decor is really outdated and the sayings along the walls, well I just don't know what to say there. Usually the onion soup has been great, but during my last visit it was so salty it was barely edible. I did enjoy the Bam Bam Shrimp though. You get 6 with your order and I have to admit they were delicious. I am not much into their steaks, I just find them not worth it. So I ordered the Tenderloin with loaded frites and it was ok. Not bad, not great, just average. Service.... hmmm... not the greatest by a long shot.

Food is outstanding and specifically their steaks are hot, juicy and delicious! The atmosphere is like a legendary steakhouse, it's a classic.

Just went there for my bday! Had their prime rib and it was perfection. Their soup is salty but you get salad a side too and their want bread which is also good

A meat lover's paradise. I felt like I just stepped into a steakhouse in the middle of Texas - not downtown Indy. Every single steak is as big as your head and juicy, cooked to your definition of perfection. Especially the Prime Rib was a fun one - everyone gasped when they saw the massive rib sticking out of the 2 inch thick meat The ribs were perfectly done, easy pull apart with little fat. they have only two BBQ sauce flavors: regular and hot. Both were Servers seemed like they had been there years - making it fun by boxing up our leftovers for us in fun shapes made of tin foil. Kinda the only good way to carry large hunks of meat home! They brought out a birthday surprise for our friend (free of charge)! Drinks were poured heavy and for the amount of food our party received, we got everything really quickly which shocked us. Very unique interior - natural wood with sections of seating 5-6 tables, as well as one huge room in the back where they placed our group since they knew we would be rowdy! So much stuff to look at on the walls, and antiques here and there. Might be a good place for a company party for large gatherings.

    Steak ordered medium

Never again will we go here. The waitresses were more concerned about the company Christmas party going on next to us. My salad has soft mushy tomatoes, no carrots and no cucumbers. Soup was good. I ordered a fillet medium but it came out medium rare. The baked potato was hard. My husbands steak was undercooked also but he didn't mind. I was only offered for them to take the steak back to be cooked again, no taking it off the bill even though I told her I wasn't happy and didn't want the steak anymore. I didn't eat any of it. I cut into it and noticed it wasn't cooked the way I ordered it. Then they added a 20% tip on our bill! We weren't given the option of a tip. No way will we go back

When I had first visited and found out that they do wine bingo, I knew I had to come back. My bestie and I used to love going to Wine Market & Table for wine bingo, but after they closed a few years ago we never found anyone else who did it. Solely Wine has solved that! They have a nice selection of wines available by the glass, but they also have a much larger selection of wines, separated by type, that you can buy by the bottle (you can't grab them yourself off the shelf, a staff member has to do that) to open and drink there or take home. My friends and I each started out with just a glass of wine and then ended up buying some bottles to share while playing bingo since we were staying for a few hours and it was a better price point to share bottles. It can get expensive buying by the glass. They also have some snacks/appetizers available for purchase if you get hungry. The inside has lots of different seating options: cozy arm chairs and couches, large family-dinner-style tables, and smaller tables along the windows. They also have a beautiful patio! Towards the back they also have an art gallery and additional seating, although I don't think that space is always open. The bathroom is kept very clean and the staff are helpful and attentive. Can't wait to come back for another girls night.

The two eggs meal came with four slices of bacon and some diced potatoes. At $18, it was not worth the price, but was still good. We could have made that at home for less than half the price. I got the orange mocktail and it was fantastic. The problem was I ordered another one and it never came. I guess the server forgot to put it in. My partner got the Morning Ritual and it was super tasty. 10/10 on the cocktails. I think we would have had a way better experience had we not been forgotten in the corner and baking in the sun. This bar screams "crawl inside me, throw off your coat and stay awhile". The low lighting, exposed brick, local clientele and fun menu top it all off. 2.) Note: they also have a decent selection of bourbons and local beer on tap and by the can. 3.) I can't stop thinking about the homemade ricotta bacon jam with sliced baguette. All thoughts of eating healthy were swept aside when this dish rolled out. "Healthy who?" 4.) I'm always advocating that beets could use more representation on menus (besides in salads...). If you're a fellow beet advocate, I'd give the pickled beets with whipped goat cheese and sliced almonds a try. 5.) I would have to say this restaurant is my favorite in Indy right now after one meal. Most of the things we shared were amazing and for a complete description please refer to my photo of the menu. We ordered the following: Burrata with Amelia's bread as an appetizer which was delicious. Gem Salad - This was amazing and I could eat it every day of the week. Stacci house made pasta - This was a big hit and I would order this every time. Hanger Steak - My husband, aka the picky eater, loved it. I didn't try it, but everyone seemed to like it. Chicken with a few dumplings - We all loved this. Three desserts to share: a cheesecake with fruit on top, one a bread pudding and a chocolate crisp. I ordered a delicious Monsoon Season cocktail with song cai vietnamese gin, cocchi americano, st. george thai basil eau de vie, elderflower, lemon and basil oil. My son and I also ordered glasses of Port after dinner. The service was great and I loved that they were playing really good rock music like Soundgarden and others. There are lots of antique typewriters above the bar and a cool print of Kurt Vonnegut by the bathrooms. Their ever changing menu featuring local produce and meats is always unique, inventive, and most importantly, delicious. Their cocktail list is one of the best and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had an extensive mocktail list as well. Their sodas and syrups are all house-made which means every drink is full of fresh flavors. I had a lemon pasta dish an my husband ordered the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly and composed of flavors and textures that complimented each other perfectly. There's nothing that wouldn't be good on their menu because you can tell the chefs are exceptional as well as the ingredients they choose. I really can't say enough good things about this place, it remains one of my favorite places to enjoy a meal and no matter what I choose, I'm never disappointed.

It's a very small kitchen where all the action happens, which is very impressive for a restaurant their size. Very knowledgeable staff and servers described all the ingredients and notes of flavor to look for in the dishes very well. Most ingredients were locally sourced and staff highlighted the importance of souring fresh local ingredients with every dish. Everyone form the hostess to the bartender and bus boy were friendly and welcoming. definitely 5* for service. The menu is a mix of several cuisines from Korean to Italian and even some French with a twist. The menu has great vegetarian options. Unfortunately the chef's tasting menu wasn't available as my reservation was made same day, but I decided to go with the two specials of the day. Dinner kicked off with a shot of Champaign on the house They like welcoming their guests that way. Water kept being refilled immediately. The staff again was very attentive. As an appetizer I went with the Scallops crudo with house made berry vinegar. The crudo was a healthy serving of scallops. Crispy raw carrots and radish provide some texture, while greens including endive provided some bitterness. This dish was a bit heavy on pepper and bitterness from the endives and could use some acidity to balance it out. Scallops were not as sweet as I was expecting. A bit more of the homemade raspberry vinagrette would have been perfect. The dark blue ring caused by the marination process would have shown more on a different color serving plate instead of a black bowl. For the main course I ordered the Beet linguini with sea bass. Interesting take on linguini Pickled rhubarb, rainbow radishes, fresh dill and a 'beet marinara' sauce reminded me of borscht. Unfortunately the linguini was overcooked and soaked up a lot of the butter and sauce. The pickled rhubarb provided a break from the heaviness of the dish but overall the dish lacked brightness. Sea bass was perfectly cooked. Seared and crusted with salt and pepper on one side, simple. Well executed but nothing special. For dessert I went with the Strawberry dacquoise which was delicious. The white chocolate bark with pink peppercorn stole the show. It should be layered inside the dessert! I wanted more of it. This dessert was not overly sweet. it was a great mix of pistachios and strawberry and fluffy cake. Gelee was a bit too dense but otherwise fantastic end to a good meal.

Well, my experience was exciting enough to write my first Yelp review. I've been to the Cincinnati…read morePolo Club and it's good food at a reasonable price; what you'd expect from a mid-level steakhouse chain. Unfortunately, that was not our experience tonight. The service was one of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant/bar and I was insulted by the owner. The Bar: Horrible service and over $14 for a 16 oz draft beer and a glass of Ecco Domani wine. The bar service was impressively slow, involving over 15 minutes at the bar twice. The bar was not that busy, and after being asked for my drink order 3 times, (after the 2nd time, I could see my drinks sitting at the other end of the bar), I was handed my bill for drinks without actually receiving the drinks or asking for my tab. Considering I'd been at the party for less than 1 hour at this time, I told them this was ridiculous and I didn't want my drinks. The OWNER was there, and then proceeded to insult me stating that I didn't understand service at a busy bar because I didn't have a business degree (there were never more than 3 people ordering at the bar at one time, they had self-imposed issues causing issues with the tab). I was respectful, but critical, and did not cause a scene or raise my voice. Several friends witnessed the interaction, and all were amazed at how confrontational and condescending he was. Food: There were 3 appetizers set out - wings, meatballs, and spinach dip. All were standard frozen fare, not bad, but sat there open for over 3 hours with no tending. I was going to order dinner, but after the bar service, decided against. Atmosphere: Standard - not especially inviting. Final: Considering the horrible service and insults directly from the owner, I will not be heading back. Prices for drinks are more appropriate for clubs downtown.
