    Chorizo and mussel pasta
    Brooke S.

Saw many reviews and had to try it out for ourselves. Staff was friendly and attentive. Loved the tinker toast, very cute and fun way to start the evening/ dinner. We heard that the Korean fried mushrooms were a must so we ordered that and the miso glazed oysters for appetizers. The mushrooms were delicious and so was the gochujang honey. We split the miso oyster and mussels/ chorizo pasta... both were just ok. Lastly, the ricotta donuts for dessert... easily our favorite thing of the night. I do want to go back and try the chicken and caviar appetizer as well as the pork belly entrée!

We went in on Valentine's Day for an early dinner around 5:30. I've only been once before years ago, so was looking forward to trying then again. We were greeted promptly and immediately seated, and served a complimentary glass of champagne which we loved! We were given both the standard menu and the Valentine's special. It was a bit disappointing that they didn't make a vegetarian/vegan special option. We started with the brussels sprouts (unpictured because I was too busy eating to take one lol) and they were delicious and crispy. They were a bit dry, though, and could use a bit more of the lemon thyme vinaigrette. It felt odd that they were served with bread without really having much sauce to dip it in? The bread was still yummy, though. I ordered the curried cauliflower steak which was disappointing. The flavors sound like they should work together but it was too aromatic-forward and didn't balance well. There was too much saffron in the rice and too much ginger and/or lemongrass in the curry. As someone who typically loves yellow curry, this missed the mark. My partner ordered the lobster ravioli special. Very cute because the pasta was heart-shaped and was pink. He thought it was delicious but the portion was very small. Loved the cute little peruvian peppers garnish! I ordered the peanut parfait to go.... and the waitress kept badgering my partner that it wasn't Valentine's unless he got a dessert, so he obliged and ordered one, too. We didn't enjoy it at all, and I usually love any peanut butter dessert. A very mediocre experience but we're interested enough in the rest of the menu to come back.

Service was excellent! We felt welcome the moment we walked in here. Bit of a small restaurant but we were seated in a booth by the window and it was perfect. I loved our server greeted us immediately and put a drink order in for us even though we were waiting on another couple to join us. All the food was fantastic, from presentation, to taste. I felt well nourished after my meal here.

Beautiful women being thoughtful towards you hits like crack in the 80s. Two days removed from Thanksgiving, my belly sought reprieve at Tinker Street. Able to watch snow fall and traffic mumble along, life was good. Crispy starters, cheeky small pour, and souping up whatever creamy pasta sauce only add up here. To the chagrin of the masses, something was amiss! Beneath all the kind staff and cozy vibes lay an unforgivable catch. In order to fill up one must empty their wallet. Serving sizes that the naked Samoan eye could miss. Unless somebody's uncle is fitting the bill, Tinker can miss me with that return visit.

GREAT RESTAURANT IN THE OLD NORTHSIDE, INDIANAPOLIS ================================================ My daughter-in-law made reservations for dinner for our group of four on Friday, August 8, 2025. She and my son wanted to go there for quite a long time. We drove to their place and walked to Tinker Street on 16th from their home. We all shared the Peaches, Beets, and Burrata to start and we all loved that. My husband ordered the Kansas City Strip and he liked that. My son ordered the Carnitas Ragu and he liked that. My daughter-in-law ordered the Black Cod. I think she liked my Shrimp Curry dish more and I was happy to share. My plate wasn't on the menu as it was a special. I really loved the lemon bar for dessert. I think we ordered one other dessert, but I cannot remember what it was. The service was perfect from the beginning to the end. I'd go back if staying in Indy again.

Pumpkin cake - A dessert plate displays a round cake with a green candle inserted in the center. The cake is topped with a dollop of cream or frosting. Sliced bananas and caramel sauce are arranged around the cake, with crushed nuts sprinkled on the plate. The presentation is on a white, round plate placed on a wooden table.

For an elevated food experience, look just on the outskirts of downtown among historic homes to find Tinker Street. Every meal starts with a tinker toast of bubbles. Most portions are small, so you can try multiple dishes. The menu does rotate pretty frequently. You can easily make a reservation online. Parking is free in this area. You'll probably get a street spot on New Jersey. A friend tipped me off that Tinker Street has great oysters. I love delicate raw oysters with mignonette. Their cucumber shallot mignonette is insane! I've always had exceptional, professional, and caring service. Tinker Street serves only dinner. For two people, expect to spend $150-200 depending on your appetite.

10.7.25 Went for our Anniversary. Had always wanted to get here, so was glad to finally do it. We were fortunate to grab a parking sport in the little lot; otherwise, I think you can park in the street (New Jersey, not 16th). The restaurant itself it mostly a covered patio that has the vibe of being "exterior" although it isn't. Inside is a bar area and a little bit more seating, and mostly the kitchen. The vibe is very casual (a bit noisy with the cement floors) although the food (and prices) is more upscale. Service throughout the night was top notch. We had a "main" server, but it seems that perhaps the staff tag teams different duties, because things like order taking, clearing plates, bringing food was flawless. My husband was offered a new cloth napkin before he had even realized he dropped his on the floor. We chatted with staff about their favorite items and ordered some accordingly. We were greeted at our table with their amuse bouche, which is actually a shot of prosecco. For app, we had the Korean fried mushrooms, which were amazing. I ordered the scallops and asked them to pair a wine for me - that was a Bordeaux blanc (excellent pairing). Hubs had their "ginger snap" - akin to an old fashioned, but even better. For entrée, he had the 'Ndjua Tortelli. Our dessert was the pumpkin crème brulee, and two Americanos. Our server also brought us their homemade lemoncello. I'm usually not a fan, but this was quite refreshing. All the food was delicious. Total including a 25% gratuity brought us in right at an even $200. #yum #ReviewsByRL

    Miso broiled oysters

Tinker Street has quickly become our FAVORITE date night spot hands down! The food is unmatched and unlike anything I've ever had. The experience is always top tier and the service has never been anything short of a 10/10. The menu changes every season, but some of our constant favorites are the Korean fried mushrooms and the miso broiled oysters! I have never had a bad experience and I will continue to rant and rave about it to anyone who will listen!

We were in the area driving through and decided to give this place a try. Our waitress was on her 2nd day working here and she was phenomenal - I unfortunately can't remember her name. We ordered the Sea Bass and Pork Belly along with an Endive Salad. The sauces and seasoning are perfection. Beautiful presentation and lots of flavor. The pork belly was so so good along with veggies and mashed potatoes - A+++ - the sea bass was crusted perfectly and was cooked perfectly! The endive salad was a nice appetizer before the main course - lots of flavor and very tasty. We also had the banana pudding dessert and lemon cello. The price is definitely not cheap but if you want big American portions that taste OK go to Applebees. If you want a nice portion that is cooked to perfection with beautiful flavors then this is the place for you. It's also a fantastic romantic spot and they have an amazing wine list - we opted for a bottle of Malbec. Impeccable service, wonderful atmosphere and phenomenal food!

The food was outstanding! The service was very good overall. The vibe of the place was very chill. Smaller place but setup nicely. I would definitely recommend this place for an everyday type meal and also for a nice night out. They are a 21+ only restaurant and are only open for dinner I believe. They didn't have a specific dress code listed on their website that I could find however, on OpenTable, it stated smart casual. There is free onsite parking but it is limited. I did take a sip of the welcome toast bubbly they provided but I am a nondrinker, so I gave the rest to my husband. I appreciated they had vegan options for appetizer, entree and dessert. I had a celery soup. It was good even for me being a non celery lover. I also ate the carrots. They were so delicious. Even my husband who isn't usually a Baba Ganoush fan enjoyed them. My husband had a salad and chicken skewers for his starters. I had a non alcoholic spicy margarita. Definitely top 5 I've tried. Then I had a NA beer, tasted just like an IPA. Husband had an old fashioned. No complaints. I had a cauliflower steak which I asked for "well done" to have a little extra char. My husband got the duck confit. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. For dessert I got the peanut parfait which was so rich and hit the spot, husband got a chai tea cake which was right up his alley. Very citrus-y. We finished the meal off with espressos. Mine with oat milk. The coffee also came with biscotti which was a nice touch and was yummy too. We will definitely be back.

    Pork belly was delightful!

I love the seasonal menu and I look forward to the rotating menu items. This is a great place to come with friend. I really enjoyed the duck, it was delicious! They also had great mocktails. I tried the "Running through the fiends" cocktail and it was not for me. Waiter was so friendly, I appreciated his recommendations. Carnitas Ragu was not for me, but it was fun to try. Normally everything is so good but this summer menu was 50/50.

Five stars! I have been saving Tinker Street for a while because I've heard excellent things. I'm really not that adventurous of an eater, so when I checked out the menu I was thinking...ok not for me. I don't even have to make this long - get here. GET.HERE. The mushrooms??? My goodness. The banana pudding? Divine! We tried and shared the majority of the menu and it was absolutely delectable. It's such a small and intimate space. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. BIG shout out to the general manager - Jourdan. He is amazing and really is running a tight ship. Do yourself a favor and try this place. The awards and accolades speak for themselves!

Loud, Slow and Tasty Come here for the food. Industrial vibe with close tables and loud patrons, I would recommend this for a fun night out but not a date or dinner with the parents. Casual dress and the place was extremely crowded on a Friday night. The food was very good with restrained portions. Soup was light and flavorful 5/5. Kale salad understated and also hit the spot, 5/5. Halibut had a foodies dream dainty salted crust and perfect cook with balanced green earth vegetable sauce, 5/5. Shrimp was a spicy tikka masala, everything worked together although slightly heavy and overcooked still gets 5/5. We ate the whole plate of donuts which were rich and addicting, paired well with the coffee ice cream but melted by the time we were served, 5/5. Lemon bar less memorable 4/5. Our water glasses were always full but beware both the entrees and dessert took a long time to arrive so I would not come here without good company.

A white bowl holds a clear, brown broth with pieces of cooked meat, garnished with cheese shavings and a sprig of herbs. The bowl is placed on a wooden table, with a person wearing a brown sweater visible in the background.

This place is all wine, all the time. I'm not even sure they offer any other adult beverage! As a consummate wine fiend, I didn't even consider any other kind of drink, because I don't need any other adult beverage other than wine, you feel me? I love Solely's commitment to wine. They have wine to drink, and also, the walls are lined with bottles of wine. Just don't touch them! If you see an interesting bottle, don't take it off the shelf. Just tell the people at the counter about the bottle you're interested in, and they will help you. I wasn't in the market for a full bottle of wine during my visits -- just a glass. Solely Wine specializes in "unique, low-intervention wines from passionate small producers," according to their website. So whether you buy a bottle or get a glass, you know you're drinking a thoughtfully chosen wine. I had a glass of the Grenache Syrah blend and the Cab Franc, mostly because I rarely see these kinds of wines offered in the wild. They were both delicious! My only comment is that the pour is very small. The Cab Franc especially felt like it was maybe 4 ounces! I have weighed my wine at home, so I know roughly what a typical wine pour (5 ounces) looks like, and this felt like slightly less. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed my wine! And the ambiance is killer. During the day, Solely is a cool place to grab a glass of wine and hang out. It's super close to the Monon Trail, too, so you can just bop over and get a cheeky drink. During the nighttime, the lights are lowered and the ambiance is very romantic and intimate. A great place for a solo drink, and a great place for a romantic date night.

Inside, the space is peaceful and inviting, with comfortable seating, games to play, and lots of natural light and live plants that create such a relaxing vibe. The owner was incredibly helpful. I wanted to try a wine flight, and she guided me through selecting options based on my preferences. The wine flight comes with four glasses and is about $24, which felt a little on the expensive side. They accept cards and also have a rewards system (which I definitely signed up for). There's a wide variety of wines, from dry to sweet, so there's something for everyone. I really enjoyed my flight. There was one red (Gamay) that wasn't my favorite since I tend to prefer sweet to semi-sweet wines, but I've been trying to expand my palate, which is why I love the option of flights. It also said it paired well with pizza, so maybe if I was eating that, it would be better. I enjoyed browsing their wine selection for purchase. I really admire how everything is well organized and easy to explore. They sell Stellar pretzels which I've had before and are so good, but solely had cinnamon dolce flavor that I never had before, neither had Kiara, so she bought some and I got to try the them (thank you Kiara!), they tasted just like a churro, so delicious, like a dessert! I can definitely see myself coming back here with friends or even just to enjoy the space and unwind. Such a great vibe overall.
