Started with the cauliflower steak- curry with saffron rice with potatoes and a pomegranate molasses along with the brightness of cilantro and mint. This is listed as a large plate, but we chose it as our starter. Hubs had the pork belly and by how quickly it disappeared, he definitely enjoyed it! I was torn on what to choose, but ended up with the shrimp étouffée and so glad I did! The sauce was divine and the apple chutney added a surprisingly wonderful addition. Dessert? Of course! Banana pudding for the hubs and I had the apple cider whoopie pie. This thing was giant! I tasted the banana pudding and it was good. Friendly staff. Great ambiance and low key, approachable decor. Unassuming. Low volume music sets the right mood without it being distracting. It's a very small kitchen where all the action happens, which is very impressive for a restaurant their size. Very knowledgeable staff and servers described all the ingredients and notes of flavor to look for in the dishes very well. Most ingredients were locally sourced and staff highlighted the importance of souring fresh local ingredients with every dish. Everyone form the hostess to the bartender and bus boy were friendly and welcoming. definitely 5* for service. The menu is a mix of several cuisines from Korean to Italian and even some French with a twist. The menu has great vegetarian options. Unfortunately the chef's tasting menu wasn't available as my reservation was made same day, but I decided to go with the two specials of the day. Dinner kicked off with a shot of Champaign on the house They like welcoming their guests that way. Water kept being refilled immediately. The staff again was very attentive. As an appetizer I went with the Scallops crudo with house made berry vinegar. The crudo was a healthy serving of scallops. Crispy raw carrots and radish provide some texture, while greens including endive provided some bitterness. This dish was a bit heavy on pepper and bitterness from the endives and could use some acidity to balance it out. Scallops were not as sweet as I was expecting. A bit more of the homemade raspberry vinagrette would have been perfect. The dark blue ring caused by the marination process would have shown more on a different color serving plate instead of a black bowl. For the main course I ordered the Beet linguini with sea bass. Interesting take on linguini Pickled rhubarb, rainbow radishes, fresh dill and a 'beet marinara' sauce reminded me of borscht. Unfortunately the linguini was overcooked and soaked up a lot of the butter and sauce. The pickled rhubarb provided a break from the heaviness of the dish but overall the dish lacked brightness. Sea bass was perfectly cooked. Seared and crusted with salt and pepper on one side, simple. Well executed but nothing special. For dessert I went with the Strawberry dacquoise which was delicious. The white chocolate bark with pink peppercorn stole the show. It should be layered inside the dessert! I wanted more of it. This dessert was not overly sweet. it was a great mix of pistachios and strawberry and fluffy cake. Gelee was a bit too dense but otherwise fantastic end to a good meal. read more

What a terrific, tiny gem of a restaurant! A little shack that's been upscaled into fantastic, adults-only fine dining -- I learned that it's 21+because they start every meal with complimentary bubbly. I was charmed. The service was absolutely top-notch -- our water glasses were never empty, and our servers were happy to discuss the menu at length, answering all of our questions. Our servers were friendly and sociable, making the meal even cozier. They had a huge wine list -- alas, I can no longer drink wine; they had a small but elegant specialty cocktail list, and, to my delight, they had a list of delicious non-alcoholic "mocktails" (which one could choose to add spirits to, if desired). I had the "Primrose", with guava juice, lime, sparkling water and rose water -- it was superb! Refreshing, light, slightly tart... exactly what I wanted. They feature a different soup every night -- always vegan. (I'm trying to switch to a plant-based diet.) The soup was a punch in the tastebuds: jerk-spiced apple and pear bisque. It tasted roasty, spicy (but not too spicy), sweet and tart... like the end of winter, and the beginning of spring. I'm now going to spend countless hours in my kitchen trying to recreate it. My entree was a curried cauliflower steak, with tiny potatoes, delicious crispy pickled chickpeas, and a delicate saffron rice that I could *really* taste the saffron in. Nutty, richly savory, and deeply satisfying, I did not envy His Goatness's pork belly, nor my dad-in-law's shrimp etouffee. I did have a bite of His Goatness's peanut parfait, which, while vegan, tasted like a Reese peanut butter cup (but perfectly sweetened, instead of over-sweet). The merengue on the top was delicately toasted with a torch. I also had some of dad's sorbet, which was amazing -- like fresh fruit! Cute little restaurant in the Herron Morton neighborhood off of 16th Street just north of downtown Indy. An older shack turned into a restaurant which has a very nice ambiance. The wait staff was outstanding. The presentation of the food was excellent and they have an extensive wine and drink menu. The food menu is rotated seasonally. A full dinner with appetizers entrees dessert and a bottle of wine for 2 was reasonable at $200. The food was good but not exceptional in any way but I would try it again. We heard that the Korean fried mushrooms were a must so we ordered that and the miso glazed oysters for appetizers. The mushrooms were delicious and so was the gochujang honey. This visit was long over due! Crazy to say my first visit was in 2026, but better late than never. First things first, the service here is amazing!! And ambience? 10/10. Once you're seated, your server greets you with a mini pour of prosecco. How fun? I love that. We opted for the chicken skewers to begin with which was the perfect start. The chicken was super flavorful and definitely a crowd favorite. For my entree I ordered the pork belly which came served on top of mashed sweet potatoes and collard greens. I was happy with the dish overall, but it did not wow me like I was expecting. I also tried my fiancés center cut ribeye, which was just ok in my opinion. We went in on Valentine's Day for an early dinner around 5:30. I've only been once before years ago, so was looking forward to trying then again. We were greeted promptly and immediately seated, and served a complimentary glass of champagne which we loved! We were given both the standard menu and the Valentine's special. We started with the brussels sprouts (unpictured because I was too busy eating to take one lol) and they were delicious and crispy. They were a bit dry, though, and could use a bit more of the lemon thyme vinaigrette. It felt odd that they were served with bread without really having much sauce to dip it in? The bread was still yummy, though. I ordered the curried cauliflower steak which was disappointing. The flavors sound like they should work together but it was too aromatic-forward and didn't balance well. There was too much saffron in the rice and too much ginger and/or lemongrass in the curry. As someone who typically loves yellow curry, this missed the mark. My partner ordered the lobster ravioli special. Very cute because the pasta was heart-shaped and was pink. He thought it was delicious but the portion was very small. Loved the cute little peruvian peppers garnish! I ordered the peanut parfait to go.... and the waitress kept badgering my partner that it wasn't Valentine's unless he got a dessert, so he obliged and ordered one, too. Great service and friendly staff. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the steak was ordered medium but came out rare. The steak comes cut into large pieces stacked on a rustic potato cake. So the kitchen could certainly tell how it was cooked but still served it rare. I did not send it back so that is my fault. I thought I'd manage but as I got into it, some of the pieces grossed me out a little bit. This dish is spicy, as warned by the server. I did like the spice and flavor. The Korean mushrooms were interesting. I didn't care for the texture but it was very flavorful and the kimchi it was sitting on was delicious. Overall, everyone at the table had a good experience and enjoyed their meals. I will try something else next time. We were fortunate to grab a parking sport in the little lot; otherwise, I think you can park in the street (New Jersey, not 16th). The restaurant itself it mostly a covered patio that has the vibe of being "exterior" although it isn't. Inside is a bar area and a little bit more seating, and mostly the kitchen. The vibe is very casual (a bit noisy with the cement floors) although the food (and prices) is more upscale. Service throughout the night was top notch. We had a "main" server, but it seems that perhaps the staff tag teams different duties, because things like order taking, clearing plates, bringing food was flawless. My husband was offered a new cloth napkin before he had even realized he dropped his on the floor. We chatted with staff about their favorite items and ordered some accordingly. We were greeted at our table with their amuse bouche, which is actually a shot of prosecco. For app, we had the Korean fried mushrooms, which were amazing. I ordered the scallops and asked them to pair a wine for me - that was a Bordeaux blanc (excellent pairing). Hubs had their "ginger snap" - akin to an old fashioned, but even better. I say that not only because of the atmosphere, but also because of the hospitality in the introduction immediately when they serve you a champagne in a shot glass. The first warm weather of the year brought out people in droves. We came for a later seating with friends around 8:30 pm and were able to get the only available table outside on the patio. We were out exploring restaurants we had not been recently and/or discover new places, always a little risky. We had been to a couple of places already so we split an entree added sides and a separate salad. We ordered bolognese, with a scallops on the side and Fall Salad. Elizabeth, or server was excellent, she explained everything on the menu made suggestions and had great timing even with a full house. The scallops may have been the best scallops I have ever had, they were decent size and perfectly cooked! The Fall salad was delicious and although I am not a fan of bolognese, my plus one ordered, it was quite good. Very up and down. We've always loved cozy and cute Tinker and have had some of our favorite meals ever there. This time we had a couple fantastic dishes: kimchi fried mushrooms, soup, endive salad. And we had a couple absolute clunkers: cauliflower steak (was really just a steamed hunk of cauliflower, no charring), fall salad (felt like just a pile of things), prickly pear tortellini (yikes, none of us thought this made any sense, it was just not good). I am all for adventurous eating and sometimes that means something doesn't quite hit and that's ok. But the dishes that have missed lately have missed so badly we wonder if someone had actually tasted it first. Which is frustrating given the price point. The highs can be so high Tinker can absolutely feel like the best restaurant in town so we keep coming back, I just wish the lows could get weeded out! read more

I ordered the wagyu coulotte - it had an incredible sauce with strawberry, basil & rhubarb. My husband ordered the sacchetoni en brodo. It was so rich in flavor and literally melted in our mouth! Highly recommend ordering some bread to use to dip in the remaining sauce. For dessert we got the ricotta doughnuts. They were good, but I think some of the other dessert options would have been better. The wine was 10/10 and the welcome champagne is such a sweet offering. The pork belly was so so good along with veggies and mashed potatoes - A+++ - the sea bass was crusted perfectly and was cooked perfectly! The price is definitely not cheap but if you want big American portions that taste OK go to Applebees. I won a gift card at the Savor Indianapolis event and have been waiting for the right time to use it. This dining experience was incredible - the flavors of the food in these dishes took me on an emotional journey because of how good it all was. The flavors in these dishes were spectacular. I sipped on my friend's Banana Old Fashioned with 8th Day bourbon because he was kind enough to share - normally not an old fashioned gal but WOW, I could've finished that whole cocktail. Then the tough decision for what to eat came about and I went with the scallops. Almost brought tears to my eyes with how good it was. The scallops were tender, the risotto was creamy and filling with a nice bit of spice to it. A perfectly balanced dish that I will be thinking about for a long while. The chef really created a masterpiece with that one. For dinner I got the Banana Pudding. I used to live in Georgia and that was a staple so I had to try it here. It was thicker and more rich than I've had it elsewhere and I loved every bite. I wanted to lick the dish but I somehow restrained myself. Our waitress was wonderful as well and I enjoyed meeting the manager who was very friendly. The only downside is how close all of the tables are however it did add a communal spirit to this place. My first time at Tinker Street was amazing! Such a cute, small dinner spot on the Northside. We started off the evening with their complementary "Tinker Toast" mini champagne flute. The soup of the day was gazpacho and it was a lovely starter. The Peach, Beet and Burrata salad was fresh and light and clam linguine was amazing. We finished off with the lemon bar and ricotta donuts because there was no way to pick just one dessert from the menu! Would highly suggest either one, they were fantastic. I love mushrooms and let me tell you I have never had fried mushrooms the way it's served here. Korean fried mushrooms on their appetizers menu is something I will be craving for the rest of my life. We sat in a patio area which was enclosed in a clear thick plastic, like a tent. It was small, and as more patrons arrived, it was very loud. There was an indoor restaurant, not sure if volume indoors would be similar. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about all the menu items. Main entree serving sizes a bit on the small side, but for me, it was perfect, didn't feel overly stuffed even with having dessert. Service was really good, on the ball. Glass was dropped and we watched 4 people kick into action to remove it without even saying anything to each other. It was cleaned and safe in like 40 seconds. Cute place with a tiny but mighty little bar. Exceptional cocktails and a thoughtfully crafted menu made for a fantastic evening. The Romero, a pork fat-washed whiskey cocktail, was the standout--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. They also had a special cocktail, the Uptown Girl, in honor of the Billy Joel concert that night. I can't recall the ingredients, but it was so good we ordered three. For appetizers, the Korean fried mushrooms were crispy and flavorful, with gochujang and pickled beets adding the perfect contrast to the richness. Dinner was just as impressive. The pork belly was fork-tender, deeply flavorful, and wonderfully hearty. The quail was another highlight, with an exceptional demi-glace that brought everything together beautifully. We had to dash to make the concert on time, so dessert will have to wait for next time--but we'll definitely be back. read more
