Wine flight
Merry B.

Popped into Peace Water for a post-lunch wine flight. The space is very cute and open. The prices are great and there's a good selection of wines. This was my first time here, and I was surpised that there were just 1-2 groups including mine during our visit. There was only one employee, which made sense for the amount of business, but they weren't the most attentive. They were sitting in a corner booth at a laptop for most of our visit, and didn't seem very observant when new customers arrived. They also didn't offer any recommendations after finding out this was our first time here, instead, simply explained that they offer glasses, tastings, and flights and that one wine could be subbed for a flight. I would have liked some additional info, but that's not the end of the world and we of course still enjoyed our time. I enjoyed all my wines, but didn't love the one I subbed--should've stuck with the original! The tipping buckets for various charities are a really nice touch.

i'm new to indy for So Cal and the wine tasting was an ok experience it exactly what i'm used to but i enjoyed it. the sommelier had good energy and was helpful. i will say when i left about 30 mins later i noticed some bumps on my lip never had that before so im nervous to go back or to use shared glasses anywhere. so i carry my own i case I'm out and need a sippy sip. other than that good short intern experience to explore with a friend or 3 and i suggest to subscribe cause they have good subscription options.

I went for an engagement party. I didn't have any food or drinks but was greeted promptly, and the ambiance was pleasant. I had a hard time finding the place. My only suggestion would be a bigger sign. The bathrooms were clean, which is always good.

Great little spot on Mass Ave. They did a great job transforming the space into a funky little winery. I had a baby with me and thankfully children are allowed in the back room (just not the tasting room). So I was able to get what I wanted and meet the party in the back. I tried a flight - 3 1/2 pours. This seemed more cost effective at $16, than the full glass pours ($10+). Plus I've never been here so I didn't know what I'd like! This way I got a little bit of each. What I wasn't a fan of is only having three set options for the flights. It would be nice if you can pick three that you want. I think this would be even more wanted after doing a tasting and wanting a bit more or certain ones. Great location, friendly bartenders. Not sure why I hadn't stopped in before but I'd love to go with a group of friends for the full tasting! We went on a Sunday evening- it was pretty empty but they do have ample space - both seating and around the bar- so I'm sure they can handle a crowd.

OMG - the best experience ever! We were walking by on a Tuesday and a nice girl waved us in! Anastasia is the best! We had the red flight and the mixed flight and it was fabulous wine and great service! We ended up buying merch and wine to go! I highly recommend for a fun experience any time!

I ended up going to Peace Water Winery on Mass Ave on Wednesday night January 19th for the wings and unwine event. It was my first time actually going to that winery. It was a very cold Wednesday night, very nice homey inside the winery, the lady at the front desk was talking to three ladies about Peace Water Winery since they had a wine tasting. You can go by yourself, with friends, or even a meeting at the Winery. The winery does offer wine tastings, wine flights, plenty of info about their wines, and they even have a wine club. Also, my event was in the back there was three bottles one was a red blend wine, delicious wine called Inspire. There was a third bottle it was green, I can't think of that name, and all were 14.5%. The event was a small crowd, fun, good chicken bites, and most importantly we enjoyed Peace Water Winery wines. I'll have come back to sample more wines.

Peace Water is one of my fave places to sit, relax, and enjoy a fine glass of wine (or two). They allow well mannered dogs to visit the winery as well! The Bookclub hosted once per month at this location is wonderful and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. I hope they keep the book club going at this location!

Peace Water Winery is a nice relaxing wine bar in downtown Indy where you can taste a flight of wine or have a glass of wine among friends. I've enjoyed the wine here and the best part is the money for tips goes to charity. Peace Water Winery brings their Napa Valley vineyard grapes to Indy and they support environmental causes and charities. They give back to the community with a percentage of their sales going to help the environment. Their wine is wonderful and the ambiance is very enlightening and comfortable for its customers. I would recommend this wine bar to everyone who is looking to "wine" down on a Friday night or Saturday afternoon.

If you're looking for a great wine tasting experience that won't break the bank, head to Peace Water Winery. One wine tasting with five different wines is 10 dollars and they're definitely not stingy when poring a glass. My favorite wine was the wishful white which I highly recommend if you're a nearby when it comes to wine. The interior is super stylish but low key enough to not feel stressful. The employee who served us was lovely and very knowledgeable about the brands history (which goes back to wine country in California!).

If you haven't been here yet, you better bookmark it in your Yelp list of Indy must-visits now! Let these reasons convince you: 1. It's run by an Indy family 2. When you drink, you're actually giving back to charity (a proceed of all bottles go to one of the charity options) 3. Each kid in the family chose a charity close to their heart and has a bucket hanging in the lobby (they don't accept tips and instead encourage you to donate to one of the buckets) 4. The wine is AMAZING. The family owns a winery in California and bottles it for sale in Indy (in other words, it's dry and quality wine). 5. The owner is approachable, fun and kind 6. They do tastings and have a 'Peace Posse' loyalty program. 7. They have a new, fun patio space that overlooks the Cultural Trail on Mass Ave 8. Thursday's = $5 off wine flights (think - $11 for three quality wine pours) 9. The interior design is INCREDIBLE and super cute and hippie. I promise you that you'll have serious design envy and home inspiration upon visiting. 10. The owner is an architect and actually designed the space himself. 11. There's a private room you can rent for large parties like bachelorette parties, family reunions, etc. Convinced yet? I'll see you there!

Peace Water Winery is a new and welcome face on the northern end of Mass Ave. After passing by their "We're Open!" barrel earlier in the evening, some friends and I decided to continue our Galentine's Day festivities here. Immediately I loved the decor. Warm lighting, beautiful chandeliers, with a cozy/hippy feel. On the menu is all wine. They don't serve food but are happy to let you bring your own or have something delivered (and with so many restaurants nearby there are a ton of options). They offer tastings, flights, full glasses, and bottle purchases. My friends and I opted for the tasting and tried 5 of their white and red wines. To keep track of your favorites, you get a laminated place card and dry erase markers. The two standouts for me were the Soulful (white) and the Zen (red). I also ordered a glass of the Passion which I enjoyed. Peace Water has an interesting origin story, and I encourage you to hear about by dropping in! I will say that included in this story is a commitment to giving back to charitable causes which is made evident by the donation buckets on the left wall by the entrance. Instead of tips, you can give to the cause of your choice! I look forward to more outings that include stopping by Peace Water Winery. Grab some friends and welcome them to downtown!

Confession: I'm not the biggest fan of Indiana wine. (This isn't actually a confession or a secret…read more I will gladly tell anyone who will listen that I don't like Indiana wine.) It's usually way too sweet for my palate, even the dry wine. But the wine I tasted at Urban Vines was really good! Could it be that I can no longer say that I don't like Indiana wine? If you like dry wine like I do, I suggest sticking to the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Those were the red wines that I chose for my wine flight, plus the Pinot Gris from the white wine section. These were all delicious and dry enough for me. (If we're really quibbling, they were still slightly sweeter than I like, but I realize Indiana wine can only go so dry.) Mostly, though, Urban Vines is ideal for people who like sweeter wines. The people who see "cotton candy" on the wine bottle and think, "Yes, this is what I want. I want my wine to taste like liquified sugar." That said, I did taste a sample of the Wine-A-Rita, which is a sweet wine infused with agave and lime, and served on ice. Whoo! That's a nice little sippin' drink. I could see killing a couple of glasses of that on a hot Indiana summer evening. I should also mention: The pours that they give you for the wine flights are generous! More than generous, actually. I am no wine lightweight, and I could feel the sweet and bitter fruits flowing nicely throughout my bloodstream by the time I took my last sip. Luckily, Urban Vines has food to offset all of the wine. I came for a pizza flight, but they weren't offering them when I visited, so I got the margherita pizza instead, which came with torn pieces of basil, marinated and roasted tomatoes, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. It was very tasty! They also offer things like boards (veggie boards, breadstick boards, cheese boards, meat boards), plus salads and desserts. They also offer brunch on the weekends. This is a pleasant little place to hang out and enjoy wine and food. It's also family-friendly -- they have a small playground that's near the patio seating, so you can relax and also watch your kids play. Urban Vines is a nice place to unwind with some wine and food, and just enjoy the day.

This one, however, rocketed to the top of our list among Hoosier wineries whose products we have tried. Not only was the wine a treat, the experience of the visit was also memorable. The facility was very nice, from the impressive external landscaping to the lovely wine shop/tasting bar to the relaxing garden-patio-themed dining area. We visited with the intention of just doing a tasting but ended up having a light lunch along with that tasting. We were glad that we did as the charcuterie board that we ordered was terrific with olives, naan, hummus, chips, cucumbers and more. It was enough to be shareable. But the highlight was still the wine. We also shared the flight as we did not want to overdo it. We tried the Peach Sangrini, Peach Pie, Lemon Moscato, Raspberry Espresso and Sweet Red Lime. All were good but I'd have to say that the standouts to me were the Lemon Moscato, which was refreshing and tasty, and the Sweet Red Lime which delivered what the name implied with a citrusy, lightly sweet flavor. The prices were not bad as I thought it was a good value for what we received. I would be remiss if I did not also note that the service was top-notch. Our server was efficient, attentive and knowledgeable. The greeter was also pleasant and welcoming. It is likewise noteworthy that we had our 8-month-old granddaughter with us, and it was greatly appreciated that they offered a family-friendly experience that accommodated her as well. Our daughter and son-in-law live in Indy, so this place is just an hour or so away. We'll look forward to the next time we can visit as there are several other varieties of wine that appear to be worth trying.

Even the driest of the wines, the Cabernet Sauvignon, is very sweet. So, if you love sweet wines, this place is for you! Right now, they are only pouring a Cabernet, a red blend, a Riesling and a sweet Rose. The grapes are imported, but Woolley Yak has their own vineyard, and the intention is that they will soon start producing wine from their own grapes. You can get a flight of wine, or a glass of wine, or a mimosa, and then you can take your wine outside with you as you explore the grounds. There are picnic benches here and there. There's also a food truck that sells four different types of grilled cheese sandwiches and handheld charcuterie cups. I think food is only available Friday through Sunday, though. I visited with children (well, a teen and an almost tween), but they are a good hang and will play on a playground with the best of them, so we headed straight for the nature play space. The playground was designed to encourage kids to engage in unstructured play, so it has a lot of natural elements all around, like tree stumps, hay bales and logs. My kids are "co-op kids" for life (their early years were spent at a nature-based cooperative preschool), so they thrive with this type of playground. There's also a tire mound to climb, a balance beam to balance on, and a basketball shooting station made from a grain wagon. There's lots of space to run around, and a few trees to climb, too. The big draw of Woolly Yak is the yaks! There are also Babydoll Southdown sheep, Kunekune pigs and chickens that live on the ranch. You can just sit on a bench and watch these animals do their things in their living spaces. Or, if you want a more up-close experience, you can purchase a ticket to one of the animal experiences, like storytime with sheep or tea with lambs. You can also experience brushing the yaks and giving them treats. If you didn't want to do any of those experiences, though, you could just visit the ranch to see the animals for free!
