I've lived near the Cork & Cracker for 6 months before I ever stepped foot into the store. That's 6 months of wasted time! I can't say anything bad about this store or the owner. Every experience has been great. The employees always try to help you get the best wines. They have a a variety of price ranges from $10+. I suggest liking them on Facebook so you can attend one of their many free tasting events! Highly recommend.

I love cork and cracker !!! Such a cute little wine shop and they are very passionate about the wine , and so helpful ! Someone always offers to carry the wine out to my car for me . Plus they do a lot of free tastings and specials ! I just picked up the weekly trio special . I always know the wines are going to taste amazing because they are all personally tasted by the owners

Yum! Creative chocolates abound at Cork and Cracker. Photo by Jennifer Litz.

First, I love Byron, but I gotta disagree with his assessment of only 50 wine bottles at the 'Cracker ... They probably have about 120 bottles of wine per rack, and 10 or 12 racks, Cork and Crack definitely has over 1,000 bottles of wine on the floor alone. As for varities--I'm with you there, By. It's probably more like 250-300. Nonetheless, that's still not bad, especially when you throw their decent craft beer selection into the mix. Cork and Cracker just opened a new location on Michigan, but I visit the Broad Ripple location. One thing this location has that that one doesn't: manager Justin Goldstein. He explained the store's thrust: They try to carry some lesser-known wines on the wall next to their claim to fame, an entire floor of $15 or less wines, arranged from crisp, soft whites to big, bold reds. One of their lesser known wines is from the inventor of Cap'n Crunch cereal, according to Justin. On another wall, upscale box wines (yup, it's becoming the rage now--even in Europe) like Cuvee de Pena (88 points from Wine Spectator!) sit complacently. The food is interesting too. Cork and Cracker carries Graffiti Zoo, a line of interestingly flavored chocolates whose proceeds partially benefit the Conservation Endowment Fund of the American Zoo & Aquarium Association. Mosey over to the refrigerator case, and you'll find an array of pate--comically labeled "Contains no foie gras"--To a food lover, it's almost blasphemous to nominally support Chicago's now-defunct ban on fattened goose liver. But I digress. The Cork and Cracker is situated next to a couple of dog-oriented stores, so it's appropriate that they have one last luxurious impulse buy next to the cash register--gourmet treats for your dog, made by their own banker's daughter.

The outside. Located in strip mall in Broad Ripple

They do a weekly trio which includes three wines (usually there's a theme) for $30!

They have national, international and local brand options at Party Pak. Are you from out of town and like a beer from a local brewery from your home state? They might have it, so it's worth asking. You can even mix and match your own 6 pack, which is probably where their name comes from since it's like a variety/party 6 pack. I didn't talk to the employee much but they seemed willing to help us. They greeted us when we came in but that was all. I don't mind quiet employees, although it is always nice to have an employee recommendation. Hopefully I can get back to Indianapolis soon so I can stop by here again to try out some of their local selection.

He asked me if i was looking for something specific, and he was able to help me find exactly what i was looking for immediately. He was very accommodating and I was in and out in seconds. Store was clean, and there were lots of options to choose from. Store attendant was professional and kind. I also am a younger gal and sometimes am nervous being alone in liquor stores, esp late night. I felt safe and will definitely stop by here again.
