On this visit, I was searching for a specific flavor of pretzels that Kiara told me about (the ones she gets on the plane), which are supposedly only sold at Total Wine. I saw other flavors in the store, but not the one I was looking for. The brand of the pretzels is Stellar and I was searching for the Maui Monk flavor. The website indicated that they had it in stock, so I asked a worker for help. Unfortunately, he was unhelpful and made me feel like I was bothering him, so I continued searching on my own. After some time looking on my own, I asked another employee, who was much more helpful. He took the time to check and explained that they were likely out of stock and that the online inventory isn't always accurate. He also mentioned how popular the pretzels are and that they sell out quickly--even he buys several when they come in. My husband was also looking for a small bottle of Cointreau, but they were out of that as well. I decided to try another flavor of the pretzels - Sweet and Sparky. These were good, had a spice to them with the buffalo flavoring. These bags are priced at $6.49. I'd like to eventually try the other flavors, including the one I was looking for. This visit was hit-or-miss in terms of customer service and item availability.

To be in the Peace Possey of Peace Water Winery? 100% worth it! First of all, I don't like most Indiana wine because it's way too sweet. PWW wine is all from California! It's right up my alley, and the benefits of the Peace Possey make it a monthly date night PLUS a bargain on a bottle of delicious wine. There are multiple locations, but the Mass Ave location is the favorite for my introverted self. The vibe is more relaxed and quiet, and that gives the staff a chance to be a lot more attentive. Their pours are generous and their conversation is easy. We go every month. It's worth it!

It's usually way too sweet for my palate, even the dry wine. But the wine I tasted at Urban Vines was really good! Could it be that I can no longer say that I don't like Indiana wine? If you like dry wine like I do, I suggest sticking to the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Those were the red wines that I chose for my wine flight, plus the Pinot Gris from the white wine section. These were all delicious and dry enough for me. (If we're really quibbling, they were still slightly sweeter than I like, but I realize Indiana wine can only go so dry.) Mostly, though, Urban Vines is ideal for people who like sweeter wines. I could see killing a couple of glasses of that on a hot Indiana summer evening. I should also mention: The pours that they give you for the wine flights are generous! More than generous, actually. I am no wine lightweight, and I could feel the sweet and bitter fruits flowing nicely throughout my bloodstream by the time I took my last sip. Luckily, Urban Vines has food to offset all of the wine. I came for a pizza flight, but they weren't offering them when I visited, so I got the margherita pizza instead, which came with torn pieces of basil, marinated and roasted tomatoes, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. It was very tasty! They also offer things like boards (veggie boards, breadstick boards, cheese boards, meat boards), plus salads and desserts. They also offer brunch on the weekends. This is a pleasant little place to hang out and enjoy wine and food. It's also family-friendly -- they have a small playground that's near the patio seating, so you can relax and also watch your kids play. Mori taught us about dining etiquette, different grades of rice and nori, and where to find the ingredients used. We also got to eat everything we made - we were very full by the end of class! We have since bought our own Zojirushi rice cooker and have made our own rolls at home. Highly recommend her classes for just a couple, family (kids 6+) or a whole group!
