We were greeted when we walked in. It was open seating. The bathrooms were clean. They had a spooky Halloween vibe going throughout the restaurant. Carlee was AMAZING. She was patient and answered our questions about the menu. My sisters and I stopped in today celebrate a milestone and everyone was super nice on such a sensitive day. Our appetizers (french onion and artichoke dip)were good but the bread pudding stole the show. The best I've ever had. They offer cocktails and mocktails. The mocktails are more than juice and sprite. And all of the drinks looked pretty . If you're downtown looking for an adult vibe thats not the club, make sure to checkout this lounge. It definitely gives a speakeasy vibe.
We walked a long way to The Ball & Biscuit for a few drinks. Though it was busy, we were easily able to find a table for our group of six. I love the look of the place, lots of wood and brick. The windows out front open to let in fresh air. It gets direct sunlight in the evening, at least in May, so be aware. And another thing... I recommend taking a picture of the cocktail menus because they change often. Taking my cue from pics of drinks on yelp, it appears we had a Saludos a la familia, a Forbidden Fruit and an Espressotini. The Espressotini seems to be a standard, and it was delicious. The Forbidden Fruit is the drink with a marshmallow set on fire and the Salads a la familia is the frothy, yellow drink. All of the cocktails were delicious. I don't think you can go wrong. We enjoyed our drinks and our time together at The Ball & Biscuit very much.
I was in town for a training and came here for a social networking event with colleagues, and it could not have been a better choice. We sat outside on a beautiful day, and the atmosphere was perfect for conversation. I tried the Bread + Butter cocktail (bourbon-based with vanilla and cherry notes), and it was phenomenal - smooth, balanced, and unique. For food, we shared/split 3 small plates for the table: the hummus plate, pickles, and bruschetta. Each one was beautifully prepared, fresh, and full of flavor. Service was attentive + friendly throughout our stay, l the overall vibe makes this a versatile spot whether for a date night, catching up with friends, or even a professional gathering like ours. Highly recommend and will definitely return the next time I'm in Indy!
Favorite spot for a drink and cozy atmosphere. Laid back but slightly upscale lounge specializing in cocktails, beer and wine. Cocktails are slightly high at around $15 but reasonable for mass ave. Bottle of nice wine is around 40-50 dollars. Enjoyable warm atmosphere in the winter for a nice glass of wine or cider. In the summer they open the outdoor space and you can enjoy a cocktail right on mass ave!!! Whats not to love!
We just don't get down to Mass Ave. very often but every time we come here we're like damn why don't we come here more often. The cocktails are absolutely amazing and the bartenders are fantastic. It's always enjoyable to sit up at the bar and watch them do their magic if you like craft cocktails you need to check this place out.
Dropped in last minute with friends to catch up and I'm glad we did! The drink menu has a section of cocktails created by the bartenders - and yea, they are GOOD! If you stop in, try a speciality cocktail before having your "usual". Also had a quesadilla - also pretty tasty! This is a perfect spot to hang with friends or date night!
Came for a drink with friends and they had a great selection of craft cocktails. We didn't get food this time, but everything is so good here! I got the mystery drink (oooooohh) that was so dang good. It honestly didn't LOOK very good from the visual appearance. But it was really dang good. A little fruity but not tart, very refreshing. It's something fun and different from other bars we go to. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the weather. It also sprinkled a little but they have an awning thankfully.
Very unique drinks! You can enjoy patio sitting as well as indoor bar seating that opens to window. This is such a nice vibe to go out for a drink with friends, likely would not go here for a date as it's a bit louder. I checked this out with friends and it was my second time visiting. They had unique twilight themed drinks as well as a good selection of beers available. The service is very quick for the crowds that are typically present.
Always a good time here. Was able to park up front. Paid street parking. The drinks are always well balanced. Just try it even if you aren't sure how it will be. Servers are usually pretty helpful when it comes to this. Had my friends bday party here as well (rented out for private event) and everything went smooth. It is not that big in here but very popular. The server was def overwhelmed on this sat night taking care of the whole upper section that stayed full with large parties. Apps are tasty as well. Best espresso tini. Nice patio.
As a espresso martini connoisseur, they have the best quality in terms of balance & taste. My no1 when it come to baseline espressos to compare to. Ruth Chris is a close second. A great place for a drink and a little something to nibble on. On mass ave across from the Eagle. Had a great time and everybody is always so nice. Def will be back!
If I was going to describe the Ball & Biscuit in one word, it'd be "sophisticated". There were multiple couples on first dates here, and there's a reason why: it's upscale with unique drinks, mood lighting, and good service. (And lots of comfy seating!) PROS: -I loooooove the ambiance here. It's especially amazing during the day with natural light streaming in the tall windows to perfectly light the brown upholstery, brick, and black menus. The whole thing feels like a treat for the eyes, and it's so comforting to be here. -Service was great too. Super friendly, but she also gave us a lot of space to do our own thing while popping in often to see if we wanted anything else. -I can't believe how good the pretzels are. A cocktail bar has no business serving pretzels this delicious. The cheese was near-perfection (and came broiled, a feat most restaurants can't even manage) with the perfect level of salt and chewiness. They were SO good. -Ball & Biscuit provides a carafe of water and glasses at your table so you can stay hydrated. A+ for anyone looking to feel okay after their drinks. -If you love coffee but aren't so fond of the bitter espresso martinis going around, you're going to LOVE the "You don't have to tell me how good my coffee is, Okay?" drink. It's like a coffee milkshake without the milkshake thickness. -Not sure what you want to drink? They have a "drink roulette" you can play with too. That's too unpredictable for my Type A self, but that's super cool. -Lots of great seating options. They have bar seating, couches, armchairs, low-top tables, high-top tables, and more. Lots of dark fabric chairs that add to the ambiance of Ball & Biscuit. -Two individual, unisex restrooms for anyone of any gender identification. Very clean bathrooms as well. (The doors shut scarily loudly, but that's a very very minor complaint!) CONS: -Despite the name, they do not sell biscuits. (Honestly, this is about the only complaint I've got. For the longest time, I thought this was a biscuit place.)
Took myself to Ball & Biscuit before meeting up with my friends for dinner. Affordable menu with lots of options! Quick service and I love the dimmed lights and a candle per table. It's perfect for a date! It's along Mass Ave so lots of parking and easy to get to other places!

Decor is on the minimal side, but the service was really nice and helpful when asking for a drink recommendation Winter Cosmo 9/10 sweet and fruity; easy to drink Bump of tequila 9/10 sweet and fruity with a smooth smoky aftertaste, my fav out of the three Espressotini 7.5/10 not really a fan of cold brew read more

First loved how it was all decked out for Halloween. Such cool decorations giving it that perfect spooky vibe. The girl who waited on me was very patient and accommodating. I asked her for some cocktail suggestions. Based on what I told her I liked she gave me two suggestions. I went with the You're My Best View. It was a very pretty drink. Perfect for the season. It also tasted great! The dark tones of the bar and soothing music created a very relaxing environment. Which was what I exactly needed after a stressful day of work. read more
Cute place to stop for drink late night. My friend and I stopped here after a concert & grabbed a drink. We didn't get food, but someone else near us at the bar did and it looked delicious. It was a busy place, but the service was good despite being busy. Would definitely go back if I'm visiting Indy again. read more

All of my Indy people love it here! I had super high expectations :) I loved the environment, I do feel it's a bit overpriced for what you get, but hey who doesn't love a unique, exciting, complex cocktail menu! read more

The ambience was really cool! Loved the feeling of a speakeasy or lounge vibe. It was super loud in there on a Saturday night, we had to practically yell to hear each other. I liked my cocktail but my friends were not impressed with the quality, taste, and price of their cocktails. They were very pricey so we left after having one each. The experience was nice, but the cocktails were very expensive like I said. Bartender kind of blew off my husband when we weren't sure if we ordered at the table or the bar. Seemed understaffed. read more
Absolutely my favourite place to grab drinks with friends! They have a wide variety of drink selections and if you can't decide what you want. Just tell them what vibe you are feeling, sweet/sour and type of alcohol and they will make the perfect creation for you! Personally I like sweeter drinks so I asked for something sweet and fruity and the drink was so fun. The staff are great and fun to talk through drinks and create something personalized for you!! This is a must try if you are on Mass Ave!! read more

I'm visiting from Chicago, and after two disappointing restaurant experiences tonight, I walked into The Ball & Biscuit and met Tori. She immediately turned my night around. Even in the last hour, she was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Her service made me feel right at home. Huge thanks to her for ending my night on a high note! read more
This is a go to place for my friends and family downtown. The rotating themed menu with drinks for any kind of alcohol drinker, the regular drinks, and the delta 8 options provide an environment for for anyone. I love the ambiance with comfy low chairs and the ability to actually hear the conversation you're having. Waiters are always attentive and helpful and I love asking which drink they created! read more

Great cocktail. There's always something unique on the menu. If you haven't already tried Adult Spring Break this is a great place to taste! The owner on B&B created her own mixed alcohol and it's delicious. Their bar food is pretty average and they have a small kitchen so I wouldn't suggest eating here. Their inside is very intimate and dark. Great place to go for a date night or small group of friends. read more
I love the cozy relaxing atmosphere here. Their drinks are superb. They make a perfect old fashioned. The drink menu has a large craft cocktail list. They have the favorites and new cocktails if your feeling adventurous. We came here for a birthday and the bartender even made a special cocktail for the birthday girl based on liquors and flavors she liked. They went above and beyond to help celebrate her day and make it special. Thank you to the bartender for going the extra mile to make it a day to remember. They offer food here also but we have only come for the drinks. Next time will have to try it. read more
I walk by here all the time so I was happy to finally come in. It's actually a pretty small place. Seating feels kind of tight. There's ambient lighting and is very cozy - I'd say it's a good date spot. I got an aperol spritz which is my go to drink! It was refreshing and just what I wanted. read more
I love B&B!! I finally got to actually sit down and order cocktails here today, the first 2 times we just got takeaway cocktails due to covid. I have never had a place have consistently good cocktails that I thoroughly enjoy more than B&B! They have fun names, seasonal menus, great decor, friendly staff, and are still doing takeaway cocktails- everything you want! They also occasionally do brunch and they have food in their menu as well. They have an outdoor seating area as well as seating inside that is nicely spaced out for covid times. The chairs are extremely comfortable. Everyone was wearing a mask if they were not at their table and the waitstaff made sure you felt comfortable. I went while they had their schitts creek cocktail menu which is a lot of fun! They are good cocktails even if you don't know the show- overall I was incredibly impressed with this paces ability to adapt and serve the public during this time. Thank you B&B! We love you! read more
