We loved our dinner at The Foundry. The service was excellent and the food was just as great. We came hungry and tried many items on the menu. The standouts to me were the hot honey wings, the pork chop, the Parmesan fries, and the basil spritz!! Desserts were "worth it" too. We will be back!

This would get at 10 out of five if it were possible! The place itself was a beautiful older building downtown Franklin. Perfectly lit for the mood. Service was beyond outstanding with Alex as our bartender and educator on her expertise of mixology. We had two appetizers, the ricottas and honey as well as the zucchini fries both were out of this world amazing. The owner even took time out of his busy night to speak to us. Cannot wait to come back and try more new dishes on the menu.

Second time back. Was not disappointed. Steak was one of the best I've had. Valentine's Day special with appetizer and dessert. On point. Well done chef!

Amazing! Gracie was a great server, very attentive and seemed to know a lot about the menu. The owner actually came over and introduced himself which was very nice, the spinach and artichoke appetizer was great and the rigatoni entrees was great too! The ambiance is slightly upscale and moody. Overall great experience!

    Meatball Appetizer

New restaurant in Franklin that is located in the old Jefferson St Pub. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the food. Since this is new to the area, it is really busy so make sure you have reservations or arrive early and sit at bar. I have tried the meatball appetizer, the chips and dip, chili, and the chicken sandwich. All were excellent and there was plenty for sharing. The chili was unique as it is served with a waffle, which pairs perfectly with the chili. The meatballs were really tasty and were more than enough as a had as my meal. I loved the chips but the dip was not my favourite, not much flavor, somewhat bland. Loved the chicken sandwich!

The sink salad is always a winner also. The gumbo with shrimp actually had a bit of a bite to it, which was a pleasant surprise since most dishes in the mid-west are prepared bland even if they are supposed to have some spice. Highly recommend this dish... unless you like bland foods. I tried the churros creme brulee, which in my mind is two desserts in one. You have your little churros on top and then a good sized serving of creme brulee... and a truly great creme brulee at that... kudos

Seems like they prefer reservations, but we were seated immediately. The waitress was helpful as we had never been there before. The petit board which came with crostinis, grain mustard, cornichons. We picked smoked Gouda, potato bacon terrine - basically potatoes wrapped in bacon, and whipped ricotta with honey. Probably wouldn't order this again because the serving sizes were so small. I've had a lot of charcuterie boards and this one was by far the smallest serving size. Never again would I order that. The sticky wings were my favorite! They were sesame-soy glazed chicken wings. So good!! I like how they brought out warm cloths to use because they were messy, but delicious. We for some reason weren't given a dessert menu. I don't know if they didn't have one. We ordered the carrot cake which was good. I wish I knew what all was in though. The cream cheese icing was my favorite. Not heavy and thick. Nice and light! Nice place downtown and would order the sticky wings and the crab cakes next time. I wish the menu would write how many you get though.

I love the small town feel!! The restaurant vibe reflects the town. Everyone is very welcoming. I didn't catch bartenders name, but she was very friendly to everyone at her bar. She told us her favorites on the menu. I appreciated her knowledge about the restaurant and the menu. The bar area seemed a little dark, but that actually enhanced the experience of an old bar. We only sat in the bar area, I believe there is additional seating in another room, but I didn't look. I opted for a grilled tenderloin and a cup of beer cheddar jalapeño cheese soup. The sandwich's are Ala carte. The sandwich was bigger than I expected, that would have been enough for lunch. The trick with grilled tenderloin is that many times it is over cooked, so it is dry. This was cooked to perfection; cooked but still moist. The sandwich, with the "garden" was awesome. Now to the soup. I think she said they use wee Mac as the beer. The jalapeño was puréed. There was crispy bacon crumbled on top; I did not care for the bacon. The soup was odd to me as I was eating it. Because of the texture, it reminded me of corn chowder. There was a little spice/flavor from the jalapeño. What was odd to me, was it didn't wow me like I thought it would, but I kept eating it. So in the end, I think I really liked it bc I ate all of it!!! The menu is not large, but has a good variety for its size. The desserts were impressive, I just didn't have room for it. I could easily become a regular there!!

The BBQ poutine fries were so big on the tray that I felt a little ostentatious as I was carrying the tray back to my table. It felt like all of the food on my tray surely should have been going to a family. But no: All of these BBQ poutine fries were just for one gluttonous person (me). Every so often, I would get an enormous fry that was way bigger than the others. It was more like a steak fry! It was like a little baked potato. It was nice to have that variety in the appetizer (which I was treating like an entree because, again, I was eating this giant appetizer by myself without shame). One of my children opted to get the kids meal here, which is the mac & cheese with a side (he chose fries). The mac & cheese is cavatappi pasta, so it's that pleasing curly texture that kids love (my kid loved it). The pros are the friendly staff, the cool art on the walls (tons to look at!) and some creative menu options/deals like a weekday $13 lunch deal or $50 three course meal for 2. The downsides- we sat by the door and it was quite cold, I think it's because we were by the door/a drafty window but I noticed space heaters throughout the space. My husband and I both ordered the BLT and while it was good, it wasn't special- the Roma tomato were small coin-sized slices and the romaine lettuce was the yellow, small inside pieces. I thought this sandwich would be a lot better with a thick sweet tomato slice and leafy green lettuce. For some reason, the fries and breakfast potatoes were taking a long time to come out of the kitchen. Our server apologized, but they came out after the rest of the meal and I overheard a server telling the next table it would be at least 30 mins for another order to come out. When they came out, they were cold. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing (the breakfast plate that the folks next to us had looked good) but I left a bit disappointed in my meal. Overall good option to visit in the Garfield Park neighborhood and hopefully just caught them on an off day with the food!
