Chicken and waffles.
Tina M.

Waitress was great and food came out in a reasonable time with a packed restaurant. My waffle was soft I did send it back to be toasted. The chicken was flavorful. I didn't care for the hot honey ( I had it on the side ). Coffee was fresh and hot. We will be back

French toast with a side of hair.

Pros: The service was great. The wait wasn't too bad. Always ready to fill up your coffee. Cons: (And this is why I did give it 1 star) There was hair in the food. Waitress did a good job- we get pick three- and made sure to bump it down to pick two. After we let her know.

We stopped at the antique market and wanted to grab something to eat before we made our way home. We found Dale's, arrived hungry and left full and happy! Our server was on it and the food was great! Two of us had the Emily and another had a skillet, we all agreed we had to come back! This is a family friendly restaurant and seems to be a staple in the community. If you do stop in, make sure you try their famous biscuits and apple butter!

Stopped by for a homestyle lunch - Dale's 2 never disappoints.

Dale's served up perfection today! The chicken and dumplings were delicious, and were complimented perfectly by mashed potatoes and green beans. The breaded tenderloin is an Indiana classic, and Dale's version is one of the best. The staff is so welcoming and attentive, which makes the overall experience worthy of a class A rating.

The ladies of the Home Avenue Book Club Meet here for our monthly lunch meeting, and it's the perfect spot to convene. The service is always superb, and it's never too loud or chaotic, even when it's jam-packed. As it is not a private parking lot and it is shared with several other restaurants, around lunchtime it can be challenging to get a spot. The food is always delectable, too! A personal go-to of mine is the honey crispy chicken wrap and chips. Make sure to order a cup of their house-made ranch to dip your chips--you won't be sorry!

Fried biscuits dusted with cinnamon sugar with a side of sweet apple butter.

First time at Dale's. All of the staff worked as a team and all were welcoming and very efficient. The menu had great selections of breakfast and lunch options. Clean establishment and a great bang for the buck. Would highly recommend and look forward to going back.

Good food with a wide variety of choices and great fast service with a smile in addition to cozy booth seating and great music

Country fried steak (the last bite) and home made chips. Best country fried steak. You can see the quality of the meat. Delicious!

Best diner food and the most amazing service! Country fried steak is my favorite breakfast food and this place has blown my mind with their country fried steak. It's great price of meat fried to perfection! And the waitresses are so friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

Good coffee in nice size cups!

I have eaten at the Dale's family restaurant up in Franklin Twp, Marion County for the last 10+ years and they have always been awesome. Great breakfast selections and their lunch and dinner menus have a variety of options and a lot of them are "comfort food" type of dishes. They always have great service also. I'm so excited to see them open a location in Franklin, IN!

The cafe is now owned by Diane, Ann's daughter. The tables are packed tightly together, but we were happy to get the last seats in the house. Nostalgic photos of Franklin cover the walls. The place is loud but with a great positive energy. People are small-town friendly and talk between tables as they enjoy their biscuits and gravy. We cajoled with two regulars who told funny stories. Our server, Gill, was quick to the table and friendly. He checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. The menu is a mix of traditional breakfast options, sandwiches, salads and wraps. Prices are reasonable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered their hand breaded tenderloin with fries. The tenderloin was massive with a great browned breading, served on a Kaiser roll. The pork was tender and juicy. It was a perfect tenderloin, worthy of the Indiana Tenderloin Trail. The hand-cut fries are lightly breaded, crispy and hot. There was an up-charge for the fries, but they were so good and worth it. It was rainy outside, so I had a bowl of the daily soup - broccoli cheddar. The soup was hot, thick, creamy with lots of broccoli and cheese and stuck to my ribs. My soup was served with packs of saltines. Free street parking is available if you're lucky to grab a spot. Well worth the drive to Franklin. Ps. They are closed Saturday and Sunday!

And he said the menu will expand again soon. Since I was by myself and he had some time, he sat down and we chatted for awhile. The seating at both restaurants, and you can call them that now since they do not just sell drinks anymore, has been greatly expanded both indoors and outside. He also told me they are working on opening a Plainfield location. I ordered my usual The Slugger on a biscuit for my bread choice (4) with sausage for my meat choice (3) and provolone for my cheese choice (5). It was superb and just how I remembered it from the other location when I was eating breakfast there several days a week about a year ago. I also ordered one Biscuit & Gravy which was excellent as well. I love small local business establishments and cooking. They always have great service and a friendly atmosphere. I was worried when we couldn't make any reservations, but we got right in - nobody was waiting, they weren't busy, but they did seem to be scrambling to find a server for us, which I thought was a little odd. After a weird start, the rest of the visit was fantastic - service was great, food was excellent, and we had a lovely time on a date night. Restrooms are on the first floor (an older review says the women's is downstairs in a creepy hallway, but this must have been renovated) and are single-occupancy and unisex, which is an interesting experience depending on who has visited before you -- this was probably the low point of the experience, that restroom could use some upkeep. Not just an unpleasant previous visitor, but structurally. For such a nice place, that part was sketchy. Definitely will be coming back overall.

I was using the bathroom when glancing into the kitchen and noticed multiple jars left open and stuff all over the counters, I can't judge though because they were short staffed and it was very crowded. There was a girl sitting on her phone during the busy afternoon I did not see her wash her hands. Once again I can't judge this because you never know what was going on in someone's life like an important situation but she was giggling and a different staff member, our waitress god bless her corrected her and told her to put it away. Our waitress was an absolute queen she was constantly at our aid and was running the place, I didn't catch her name but she had brown curly hair and glasses. The food was phenomenal I ordered the yogurt parfait, strongly recommend because it was super fun to assemble and I felt like a skinny queen eating it. She did check on us and keep water full. So the food is ok. My husband had the burger, which was hand prepared, juicy and delicious. I had the Chicken Velvet soup and the bits of chicken were tough and dry. I also had an Ultimate BLT which was good with thick cut bacon and thin sliced avocado. So, it's probably not the place to come if you are on a quick lunch break. The burgers are good. There's limited parking around the square.
