A good friend of mine lives in Franklin and she suggested we try Dale's for something new and a change of pace from the same ol same ol. I hadn't heard of Dale's until she told me about it. Par for the course, I made sure to check them out on Yelp first. It's a pretty good sized place with additional outdoor seating. It's very spacious and spread out without the tables being crammed together, including the booth space. It had a fresh looking and clean appearance too. The decor is pleasant. The place seemed to have an ample sized crowd when we arrived. We were seated right away and we had a kind and informative server. Dale's only serves breakfast and lunch and then they shut down early. They do not do dinner apparently. It seems they serve breakfast all day along with some lunch options. We decided to eat lunch because we got there a little bit after noon. The special of the day was sloppy Joe's. I decided to have a pork tenderloin sandwich with fries and coleslaw and my guest decided to get the sloppy Joe's special with fries. On a 10 scale, the coleslaw was a seven, the tenderloin sandwich was a nine, and the fries were an eight. The sloppy joe was a six. I think the reason why the sloppy Joe didn't rank higher is because it was just dry loose seasoned hamburger meat. It didn't have any sauce in it whatsoever to hold it together. It was more like a loose meat sandwich or a taco burger. Those sandwiches are generally drier and crumbly in texture. I also like the option of having some cheddar cheese with a sloppy joe, or any similar hamburger type of sandwich. I would definitely consider coming again and trying something different. I noticed they had some comfort food classics on their menu like ex: chicken and dumplings and meatloaf. I hear they're usually pretty busy and packed when it comes to their breakfast crowd. This restaurant is doing things the right way from what I can tell at this point. The bathroom was average in cleanliness, presentation/appearance. I stand by giving them a strong 4 star rating for them which stays on course with their already established 4 star rating. read more

A family-friendly breakfast/lunch spot where the service is just as good as the comfort food. It's easy to find on the corner of the strip with a shared parking lot, so parking wasn't an issue when we visited. Our server Peggy was very friendly, chipper, and welcoming. She even has a menu item named after her" Peggy's Pancakes" which my son noticed right after she introduced herself. I thought that was a cute touch. The dining area has both booths and tables, and they had a fun Dalmatian fire hydrant decoration near the host/hostess stand that added character to the space. They serve Pepsi products for drinks. My son got lemonade and I just got water. I ordered the Sami, which came with country fried steak, two eggs over medium, hash browns, and two pancakes for $14.99. Peggy said that was a good choice, and my meal was tasty. The portion was filling and the pricing seemed reasonable. My son got the Big Daddy for $13.99, which came with two meats (he chose sausage and bacon), three eggs, hash browns, and two pancakes. First of all, let me say that we were going to Tom's restaurant when we pulled up via Google maps. We ended up at Dale's 2. We still decided to go in and have breakfast, and it was such a pleasing and happy atmosphere. All the staff seem to be very very pleasant extremely inviting and helpful with the menu. The food was very good, and the portions were very good also. It seems like the place to go after church so there may be a wait but they do seem to turn the tables very quickly without a problem. read more

Dale's served up perfection today! The chicken and dumplings were delicious, and were complimented perfectly by mashed potatoes and green beans. Two of us had the Emily and another had a skillet, we all agreed we had to come back! This is a family friendly restaurant and seems to be a staple in the community. The ladies of the Home Avenue Book Club Meet here for our monthly lunch meeting, and it's the perfect spot to convene. The service is always superb, and it's never too loud or chaotic, even when it's jam-packed. As it is not a private parking lot and it is shared with several other restaurants, around lunchtime it can be challenging to get a spot. The food is always delectable, too! We stopped in here when passing through a few weeks ago. The food was good, the place was clean and the staff was friendly. A typical home town cafe with breakfast as the main draw. They had gluten free bread to swap for a small charge. Nothing fancy but solid comfort food prepared in the midwest fashion with lots of salt and butter. I won't be ordering from here again. Put in a pickup order and paid ahead of time. When I got there their Internet had been down so they never got it. Not their fault, I get it. But for a customer to show up to pick up food that they paid for and unfortunately have to wait an extra 20 minutes for the food to be prepared, the staff at the front was incredibly rude to ME. I told her at the beginning okay I understood. My family owns a restaurant. Never gave a simple "sorry about that" or anything. Just "not our fault and this has happened more than once" and tossed my bag of food onto the counter and walked away. I get sometimes everyone has a bad day or shift at work isn't going well, but don't take it out on the customers. Especially ones who aren't arguing or making a scene or even complaining to you.
