Cute restaurant with great food and service! We had the steak frites and chicken Milanese!

Excellent service, excellent food. They accommodated our party of 7 adults and 2 children on short notice, sat us at a spacious set of tables, and gave us plenty of time to run down the menu, order the whole thing (plus two slices of american cheese for my little one) with suggestions and wine pairings to boot. I had a very well balanced Aviation, and took sips of my friends' brambles and old fashioneds. Perfect pre-meal sippers all around. We ordered the gamut, from the pickled beets to the pub burgers. Pretty much everything from the middle "shared plate and veggie" section. My wife and I split a super rich and tasty lamb bolognese. Again, the star of the show was the service and welcoming environment. It's just nice that they also performed on a stage of superbly prepared edibles. Would go again with a big group and maybe get a sitter so we're not leaving a trail of american cheese bits leaving an extra large tip to offset the accidental middle American Hansel and Gretel vibe. read more

Our group of four ladies enjoyed an excellent evening at Revery. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server, Amanda, was top notch. We shared the whipped Ricotta appetizer with a honey jelly center and grilled bread. Delish! I ordered the Rev salad, a perfect blend of spinach and arugula laced with red onion, pecans, and feta cheese and dressed with strawberry vinaigrette. My crab cake bruschetta was delicious - the dots of lemon curd were a perfect accompaniment and the crab meat generously portioned. Amazing food and great atmosphere, would recommend to anyone! There's a season shrimp dish that k loved so much

Been coming here on off for many years. I have to say, I still miss their special popcorn. That was truly one of it's kind. But alas, the food is still great. The service wasn't quite as great on my last visit, but I guess everyone is allowed a one off day. I had the rock shrimp, which is definitely one of my favorites here. The sink salad is always a winner also. The gumbo with shrimp actually had a bit of a bite to it, which was a pleasant surprise since most dishes in the mid-west are prepared bland even if they are supposed to have some spice. Highly recommend this dish... unless you like bland foods. I tried the churros creme brulee, which in my mind is two desserts in one. Revery is definitely one of the best restaurants on the Southside. The quality of the food is top notch and the cocktails are delicious. I ordered the Ricotta for an appetizer. The ricotta came out with a blueberry compote on top. I could have ate the entire thing myself but decided not to be totally selfish and shared with my friend. I asked the waitress what the prettiest cocktail was. She suggested the Rosen inspired cocktail. She was right. It was beautiful and delicious. I ordered the crab cake appetizer as my main entree. I was shocked by the portion size. It was perfect for an entree. I also ordered the sweet potatoes. It came in a large bowl with pecans and marshmallow on top which is how I love my sweet potatoes. This was my first visit to the Revery steakhouse, but it certainly won't be my last! We decided to try a new experience for dinner on the eve of the new year. The Revery is conveniently located, easy to find, and plenty of parking is available. Reservations were made for this evening's visit to ensure our table would be available. Warm and inviting describes the ambiance, as we were seated in the back bar area. Hence, I was quick to order up a perfect 'old fashioned'. The meal was exceptional. Starting with the poutine, we were pleasantly surprised at the assembly of edible bowl filled with tasty offerings. The mains were equally delicious, a premium ribeye and short ribs. What was also impressive were the sides - sweet potato puree and Brussel sprouts. We finished our meal with a delicious Creme Brule, which was a perfect ending to a wonderful visit. read more

My husband and I went here for our first wedding anniversary. We made a reservation and I'm glad we did because the restaurant was busy and all tables were filled. I got the skirt steak frites and it was very delicious! The steak was seasoned well, and I felt like it was a pretty good portion. It was served with a heaping order of french fries! My husband got the fillet medium, and when it came out, it was a little overcooked. They made him a new one right away and were very nice about it. My husband and I came here for a date night a few Fridays ago. We hadn't been in almost 7 years, not long after they opened, but talk about how amazing their vegetables were all the time and decided to go back. I made a reservation the Sunday before and confirmed with Open Table the day prior that we were still coming. Once we got there, the hosts at the front wordlessly took us back to where we were being seated, which is arguably the worst table in the restaurant. A tiny two top that was in the very back, right in front of the restroom. Not long after, we discovered that the table was uneven and moved anytime my husband put weight on his side of the table. I voted to leave, but my husband suggested we stay and tough it out because the other nearby spot was a brewery with only pub food and pizza. Additionally, there were also other two tops that were empty that we passed on the way there and in the same room. The other two top in the same room as us stayed empty almost the entire time we were there. We were not greeted for quite some time, and when we were it was from the bartender who came over and never introduced himself to us or let us know that he wasn't actually going to be our server (probably 25 minutes after this a woman came over who said she was our server and asked if the bartender had introduced her, and we said he hadn't introduced anyone). We ordered cocktails and they came out relatively quickly. He oddly reached over me and picked up my stuff and then pushed them up against the wall when he sat down my cocktail, which was very strange. We ordered our actual food with our server when she came over and then only saw her one or two other times the rest of time there. Anytime we sat something down a busboy came over to immediately take it away without asking. This got old really quickly and he even came over and took my husband's dinner plate, that was empty from his entree, but was still being used for the 3 sides of vegetables we ordered to share. He came back and tried to take mine away as well and I had to physically put my hand out and tell him no. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because the food was still just as good as we remembered it. The only thing we did not like was the sweet potatoes- which I normally love- because they were incredibly salty and it overpowered the dish. Overall, I would not make the 45-minute drive down here again. The staff were not pleasant and either inattentive, or too attentive in the case of the busboy, so the lack of customer service really dampened our date night out. We both wished we would have gone somewhere else and kept the amazing memory we had from our first dining experience there. The food is very good, so I think most other patrons will have a much better time than we did. read more

The food sets the bar high for surrounding restaurants. The staff is very friendly and attentive without being overwhelming. It's a cozy little corner spot that feels intimate but not overly fancy. Like you could go for fancy food but don't feel pressured to dress over the top. read more

We love this place and showed up 450pm on a Friday on the way to a pacers game and they had 1 table with 2 people in it and a few at the bar and they wouldnt seat us because they have "reservations tonight" We've been there multiple times and have never been treated that way. I'd expect they have a table or two (and we've even been seated in their back room in the past) for people without reservations or suggest we could wait or anything. I had the Short Rib last night and the Pork Chop tonight and both offered unique flavors that I honestly did not expect. Ambience: cozy, laid back, great date place. Music could be softer. Service: friendly, prompt. Food: has the ricotta appetizer, mashed potatoes and the burger. They were all great ! Even accommodated some change requests (sauces on the side). Personally I would have preferred less of the sugary syrup on the ricotta but that was the only issue I had with that dish. We had an excellent dinner at Revery. Reservations didn't seem necessary on a Wednesday, but it sounds like they are on weekends and I can see why! We sat at a table in the front bar. Our server was also the bartender and our service was excellent. My brother loves the smoked old fashioned. He ordered the cheese curd appetizer. These are served on a bed of sauce with microgreens and pickled peppers. They were so delicious. We ordered the flat iron, shrimp skewer, pork chop, and short rib. All of our dishes were delicious and beautifully plated. I saw a bad review about the short rib, but it was absolutely incredible on this visit. I had the pork chop and it was perfect. My brother said the shrimp skewer was probably the best shrimp he's ever had. When our server asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, we all responded with yes as if we couldn't wait to see it. We had the banofee pie jar and the vanilla bourbon sponge cake. The desserts were delicious. I will say I didn't taste the bourbon in the sponge cake, but I loved the chunks of salt and the different cremes and glazes that decorated the cake and the plate. I highly recommend Revery. This was a real treat and an incredible addition to Greenwood. read more

I had high hopes for this cute little place. First of all the AC must have been broken and there was no air flow. Everyone was a hot sweaty mess. The highlight of my meal were the cheese curds, mashed potato side and my mocktails. I got the burrata salad with a side of grilled chicken and overall very bland and underwhelming. My little nephew got the chicken tenders and if your gonna get chicken that's a much better choice. The service was average. I was chugging water and they were slow to check on us. The hubs had the special that night, Grilled Walleye with Squash and Green Onions. We also ordered a side of Mashed Potatoes. For drinks, I had a Three Floyds Barbarian Haze, and he had a Krombacher Pilsner. Then, we both had PBR on draft. The Scallops were caramelized and delicate. Cooked to perfection. The Very Merry Cranberry drink was delicious I highly recommend it if you like a sweet drink. This would be a great restaurant for a special date night it's small, intimate with dim lighting. Forgot to specify a high chair when we made our reservation. Only table for our party of 7 adults was a high top. High chair too low so we made it work. Again our fault. Well, I don't give five of these often. Almost never. But--I have to say, they earned it. We met friends there that live close to the restaurant, at their suggestion. It was very rustic inside, dark, simply furnished. This is not a place you go to for the decor. You are wowed but the food!! We were promptly greeted and drink orders were taken. The server was excellent and took personal pride in the food that was served. I loved that!! I ordered Sauv-Blanc and my husband ordered an Old Fashioned. I stole a sip and was pleasantly impressed by the balance. Oh yeah, the wine was good too. I mean they didn't craft it or anything, but great brand selection! Woohoo!! Ok--to the important part, THE FOOD!!!! Our friends ordered the Poutine as an appetizer and invited us to partake. I really appreciated the invitation so I just took a fry and scooped a little gravy--at first. The gravy was so flavorful--like the best pit roast you could ever have! That was just enough to make me want to order my own and not share. One order is plenty to feed four, if it were just moderately good. But of course, it was delicious! ( next time that will be my dinner!) I saw they had a pork shank on the menu. If you have ever been to Germany or had the pleasure of a Schweinshaxe--you'd get excited if you saw the Fred Flintstone hunk of pork on the menu too. And it didn't disappoint! The only thing I noticed right off the bat though ( not enough to diminish a star for), was that I think they either Sous vide or pressure cook the shanks and then roast them to order. The actual meat was super tender but lacked seasoning and natural juiciness that would have occurred during actual braising. My husband got the mushroom pasta. He was eating it like someone was going to steal it! So I was a little afraid to ask for a bite--so I waited till his head was turned and swiftly took a bite. Then he offered a bite--surprisingly. Lucky me! Wow!! Yummy!! Our friends had steak frites and the meatloaf. Everyone was quietly enjoying their food. It was a very pleasant evening and the food moderately priced. We chose Revery a year ago to have our post wedding dinner with our family and chose last night to celebrate our year anniversary! The food was delicious then and now! We visited Revery for the first time and was amazed. We started with Fried Rock Shrimp which was lightly battered and served with a chili sauce. I had the Scottish Salmon which was served with zucchini noodles,sticky rice and a soy chili sauce. Delicious! My husband for the Short Rib tacos with crispy cabbage loads of meat, micro cilantro and pickled onion. He absolutely loved it. We got the cream Brule to go since it sounded amazing and we couldn't eat another bite. Like to eat local when I travel and someone suggested this place. Said food is always fresh. Came for dinner and it wasn't crowded. We were seated at a high top on the bar right away. First table was wobbly so we moved to another, it too, was wobbly but the bartender fixed it quick with a few coasters. They are known for their bourbon so I ordered the old fashioned It was traditional and very good, made with old foresters. The special was the seared scallops and all 3 of us ordered it. They were seated to perfection. I don't know how they did it but the scallops were like caramelized on top. The rest was cooked perfectly and so sweet. The best cooked scallops I've ever had. The asparagus was good and the port wine risotto was also amazing. Never had it before, never seen it on a menu before but it was really good. Service was excellent as well. Was well worth the trip and if I'm in the area again I'll be back for sure read more

Terrible service from start to finish. I'm visiting relatives and had been here a few years ago, which made this experience even more disappointing. My daughter's iced tea was never refilled once during the entire meal, I had to ask for a refill of my hot tea, the server didn't mention the daily special, and despite having a reservation we were seated in the bar. Service was so bad the table next to us had to get up and ask for their bill. Completely inattentive server and not the experience I remembered. Won't be back. read more
