We had a wonderful dinner with friends at Boulder Creek last night. The restaurant is part of the Cunningham Group, which really seems to consistently deliver a great dining experience. Boulder Creek has a lodge vibe with big exposed beams. An inviting patio is outside, but we sat in the upscale dining room. We hit the happy hour for a round of drinks that are $3 off. I had a glass of Chardonnay and my husband had a beer that sounded like "elephant" or something. We met other friends and had a big table. The chairs were comfortable. I had the grouper fish and chips, which was awesome. The chopped house salad is super fresh and delicious. I love the sunflower seeds. The fried grouper is perfectly battered and crispy. The slaw is creamy and the portion is large. The fresh cut fries are delicious. I loved my meal. Several of my friends had the salmon on mash potatoes dish which they raved about. A couple people made substitutions for baked potatoes or broccoli and the staff was super accommodating. Our server, Chloee, was super attentive and got our complex order perfect. She checked on us frequently. Food came out quickly. Chloee even brought out a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl. Chloee is a five star server, for sure. Even though the dining room had a lot of people, we could hear and talk well. The acoustics are good. We had a perfect dining experience. I can't wait to return. I came here for Winter Devour Indy with friends. We had reservations and were seated quickly once everyone arrived. I had the Chicken Tortilla Soup and Tuscan Salmon off the devour menu. The soup was hot and comforting on a cold night and the salmon was creamy and filling. For a steakhouse charging around $65 per diner, I expected a much higher level of quality and service. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. The steak was cooked to the correct temperature, but it was completely unseasoned and surprisingly flavorless. Getting the temperature right is important, but a steak should also have seasoning and a good crust. This one had neither. The French onion soup was also a letdown. It was topped with deep-fried onion rings, which was an odd choice, and the breading had become soggy from sitting in the soup. It didn't add anything to the dish and honestly just made it seem poorly thought out. The sides weren't much better. About half of the asparagus consisted of tough, woody stems that were inedible. The broccoli was undercooked, as were the green beans. The service made the experience even more frustrating. Once our food was delivered, our server essentially disappeared. We never got drink refills, and when we were ready to leave, we had to wave her down several times just to get our check. For the price, I expect attention to detail, quality ingredients, and attentive service. Instead, we left feeling like we had overpaid for a very average meal with poor service. My son suggested Boukder Creek for dinner since he had a gift card. We made a reservation expecting the restaurant to be busy but we're surprised to find it not too busy. We were immediately seated but we did all note that the lighting was dim and could be a bit brighter. I ordered the calamari appetizer and that ended up being the highlight of the whole meal. Both my boys ordered steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus, while my daughter got a side of potatoes and some pasta. I got the short ribs. Overall, the food was good but not well seasoned and we ended up asking for salt and pepper. My son also got an old fashioned and I dont remember what drink my other son got. We are regulars but out for a birthday dinner. I had an amazing steak and my husband had the Walleye..we shared bites to create our own surf and turf. Bread provided with every meal. The pickles as an appetizer were delicious and a good amount! Wonderful beverage choices as to wine, cocktails and beer (including several NA choices.) I was greeted when I walked in. I've been here before and my favorite Cunningham restaurant is Stone Creek. I opted for the house salad, mocktail, and peanut butter pie. The pie was a little stale so I threw it away after two bites. Don't get the espresso mocktail though. You'll be disappointed. Grace was our server and she was so BOMB. We were visiting from Florida and stopped in for lunch. I was reading the previous reviews and the spicy beef sandwich had gotten really good recommendations. It didn't disappoint. The bread was warm and soft and didn't tear up the roof of my mouth like some do. The cheese was melted perfectly on top and the au ju was tasty. It really wasn't spicy, in my opinion. My husband ordered the tenderloin and it was crispy and delicious. We really miss tenderloins, you can't find them in Florida. Our service was vet attentive and kept our drink full. This place screams rural Indianapolis culture, it's so cute. Classic Midwestern dishes like "spicy" Alfredo, steak, chicken, and salads. Imagine your standard menu but add slight unique flavor twists and slight recipe changes that will delight you. For some reason we love their veggies lol - perfectly steamed every time. I had to travel to Indiana for work. I relied on the station workers for hotel and food recommendation. Everyone said I had to try this place. I could tell from the moment I walked up that Locals love this place. There were so many little groups that were either birthdays or simple get-togethers. The staff was amazing. Yet, the food was even better. First, the bread was ADDITIVE. I must have eaten 2 loaves by myself. I really enjoyed eating here! We came with a massive group and our service was actually great. Which shocked me. They have free bread and it's pretty good. I wouldn't crave it, but it was nice to munch on. I ordered the filet with risotto and au gratin potatoes. EXCELLENT. my husband ordered the ribeye with risotto and broccoli. EXCELLENT. So my brother suggested we'd come here, so we did. Boulder Creek is also dog-friendly which we needed. Upon arrival, there's plenty of parking and a few parties seated outdoors (also with dogs). The host was very young and a little confused but eventually seated us outside. Much of the staff seemed very young, but they did their best in helping. The menu itself is, in my opinion, is a little scattered and the prices to me seem on the very high side, but we were already there. Looking at the pictures, I was scared of paying a high price for something I didn't like, so I went with the burger. As we ordered, we were offered bread - it was big and puffy, toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. There's also this random oil that served with it that was honestly not good - no one really knew what it was nor did it taste good. Simple olive oil would have been better in this case. When the food came, I was a little nervous but in the end, the food was great so it was a relief. I see this being a place for celebrations and such in the Brownsburg area. read more

I've never been blown away by Boulder Creek. On this visit I had the black and blue salad. The dressing was Caesar instead of what was listed. The steak was good and there was bleu cheese, but it really wasn't great with Caesar dressing. Their bread and olive oil is also not a favorite of mine. It's pretty bland. I've always had good service, so no complaints here. It's a cozy restaurant and the patio would be a great spot for drinks when the weather warms up. I'm sure I'll continue to visit BC because of the convenient location in Brownsburg, but I would rather try anything else first. read more

My husband and I visited for Devour and this one was his pick. There was a bit of a wait between us being seated and being greeted by our water. We were served some warm bread with oil sin after though. Then I started with a side salad and wasn't a huge fan. I didn't think the combination of toppings really fit, sunflower seeds with bruschetta tomatoes, and the mediterranean dressing was a little disappointing too. But my husband started with the chicken tortilla soup and enjoyed that. We had also ordered the ahi tuna appetizer, which didn't actually ever make it to us, but that was ended up being ok because we were full after the main and dessert. I wasn't super excited about the menu or the food at this point TBH, but the next two courses were where I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the grilled salmon and it was so good! The fish was grilled perfectly and the creamy tomato couscous was excellent! My husband ordered the seafood diablo fettucine and was happy with that as well. The portions were large (hence us not being too upset about missing the app) and we cleaned our plates. When it came to dessert, the chocolate terrine was a bit too rich, but still good and the carrot cake was also better than I expected. We stopped in for lunch today and we had the best server . Her name was Jasmine. She was so quick to help my friend that was a little low on her sugar and feeling shaky . She immediately got her something to help that come up and then proceeded to wait on us and bring our food out so quickly . Very sweet server hope to ask for her again . This is a beautiful place to dine. The food is amazing especially their house salad with the raspberry poppyseed dressing.. We have never had a bad meal here. My wife, daughter, and I went to Boulder Creek on Valentine's Day for dinner. We had never been there before since we are new to the area, we wanted to give it a try. We had a reservation and only had to wait about 5 mins for our table to be ready. My daughter got Mac and cheese from the kids menu, and she said it was fine. My wife ordered the horseradish Dijon crusted sirloin with the augratin potatoes and the Parmesan risotto. She really enjoyed the streak and the risotto but she said the augratin potatoes were very bland and lacking flavor. She expected them to be very cheesy, and they were not. She did not eat them. I ordered a filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and the loaded potato wedges. The steak was awesome, very well seasoned and delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes and the loaded potato wedges were both very bland as well. The mashed potatoes tasted like plain instant potatoes, i tasted no garlic at all. The loaded potato wedges tasted like plain potato wedges with some bacon and cheese on top. They were okay but they seemed to be lacking. There were a few other menu items that looked good, so we will come back to try something else and see how it goes. read more

The first woman, who was helping my family, was very short in trying to accommodate 7 of us. But once we were seated and our waitress came out everything changed. She was very very nice and accommodating. The food itself was amazing. I got the blackened salmon salad and oh my goodness it was delicious. After waiting about 10 minutes, the Staff and manager had tables put together and water on the tables. I think they were short handed but the manager pitched in and we were able to order and get our food pretty quick. I had a cup of soup and a half of a BLT. I was inadvertently given the wrong kind of soup but it was quickly replaced with the French onion soup that I had ordered. I loved the little fried onions they put on top of the soup. The BLT was pretty standard. Our waitress did a good job checking in with us and bringing to go boxes to everyone who wanted one. This was my first visit but I would definitely go again. So, to start off the service was great and the food and cocktails were well worth the price. I will definitely be back for those reasons. My lack of stars comes from the other patrons we had the displeasure of being seated next to. I had gone out for a nice birthday dinner with my wife, and specifically chose this restaurant to enjoy a more upscale experience. Although the restaurant was not busy, we were seated next to a 9 top that had been out golfing and apparently drinking all afternoon.They were loud, foul mouthed braggards on some sort of business junket. It was far from the upscale experience we had expected. I will hold some ownership for this, as I'm sure they would have let us move elsewhere in the restaurant if I would have brought it to their attention. But, it would have been nice to have been seated somewhere else to start with. We will be back, and I hope to update this to a 4 or 5 based on the food and table service at that time. read more

This is the short rib plate. For carry out. This plate with tax is almost $40. This is what I received for $40. What little food there is, is simply just blend it together. There's a chunk of short rib, a ton of mushrooms and a smattering of sweet potato. If you can call it that. Here's the thing. I gave it two stars, because the short rib is very tender. It could've used a bit more flavor, because it was very bland, but it was so tender I couldn't give it one star. But the portion for just under $40 of food as a hole is insufficient if you look in the plate, the rest of what you see is actually mushrooms so I paid $40 or just under $40 to be accurate for a ton of mushrooms, a smidge of sweet potato and a chunk of short rib. This just was not worth what it costs. This was a dinner portion by the way; not a lunch portion. Poor presentation, small portion; 2 stars. read more

I like Boulder Creek - they hook you up right off the bat with some warm bread and red pepper olive oil. And they legitimately put some love into their starter salad which many places dont. I appreciatte that. The entrees are mostly land and seafood staples in the 20-30 dollar range. Sides are ala carte. I went with a horseradish crusted sirloin steak and some augratin potatos. The steak was the bomb! The potatos were maybe a little bland - but good enough. All in all BC is good but not quite great. The food is a soild step in quality above Applebees with a nicer atmosphere...but I struggle to call it fine dining. Its an elevated neighborhood dinner restaurant. How's that? read more

Fantastic food! Cozy place. My plan was to have a steak, but I didn't see it on the menu, but when I asked, my server brought me the dinner menu. The only caveat is that depending on the time, the mash potatoes don't get prepared/made until later (they make them pretty fresh) they did have the au gratin potatoes which was incredible. The steak was cooked perfectly and they serve it in a really hot plate. Which was a very well done touch. I also had the asparagus, which they grilled. I was in town in business and wanted to go for a good meal. This place has plenty of parking out front and the outside looks appealing. We arrived in a Tuesday night at 6:30 and were quickly seated. We were a party of two and the waitress arrived to take our drink orders quickly. They have a full bar and a decent craft beer selection. They do provide bread and an olive oil side after we ordered our meal and it was hot and really good. I told my waitress about a garlic allergy and she went back and checked to see if I could have the walleye. Unfortunately I could not but my friend ordered it and said it was really good. I got the NY strip and it was delicious. The steamed vegetables were excellent as well. Would highly recommend. Service and food were excellent. read more
