Had a good experience my first time in. They greeted me, answered all my questions and the meats look really good. I purchased some Amish chicken, NY strip steaks and some local cheese from Tulip Tree. Decent prices but the only thing I didn't like was that the prices weren't on anything I inquired about. I did like the fact that they have a loyalty program. I signed up for that. I'm looking forward to trying to locally sourced meat that they actually process. I truly enjoy having the option of going to a local butcher as opposed to going to a chain supermarket!

Five Star meats and service. I really enjoyed the different meats I've had from Moody's. My wife makes a crock pot dish using the thick cut boneless pork chops (with pork stuffing and no sugar apple pie filling) that turns out fantastic with the meat having a great savory flavor. I also picked up some of the breakfast sausage that is not too spicy, but with enough flavor to wake up your taste buds! The folks behind the counter were very helpful and freezer wrapped everything I ordered. No waiting all day for service either! And when I mentioned it was my first time shopping at this location, they told me to pick out a FREE package of bacon! I don't know if they do that for all first time guests, but I hadn't even made a large purchase. I was very appreciative! So why not five stars on my rating? Well a couple things. The place just needs a makeover. It may seem a bit trite to knock off a star for appearance, but if you have been to the Zionsville location, that place is beautifully laid out with far more options on displays that are neat and clean and filled with artisanal items that might go well with your purchase. That store sets the standard for all meat shops! So, even though this place sells the same quality meats and the folks are nice, it just doesn't draw you in like the place to the north. And the location is a bit of a problem for visitors who want to turn left out of their parking lot. The shop sits next to a hill that has definite blind spots for traffic coming from the north. I had to have my wife watch to the right while I waited for an opening in traffic from the left. Lots of traffic with no center lane to pull into. So, if you want high quality meats at very reasonable prices, stop by here....and maybe get some free bacon! Review #2267

Two filets were $50 so we expected them to be great. Very poorly cut, grisly and not much flavor. Won't be back.

Quality, locally sourced meat and great service. You're paying more for your meat here but it's worth it to support local!

I also got 3 pounds of chicken legs and two of the pork fritters because they were $1.50 today. The young man who helped me was very helpful and let me swap out one of the items. he also let me know where their meat was sourced from. I believe they said the pork and chicken was from Delphi and the beef was from Midwest. They were all friendly while very busy. After I ordered, there was a large group of people, so I guess I got in at a good time! I loved my last bundle and I'm sure this one's going to be equally as good. The prices May be going up a little bit shortly, but right now they're honoring the prices that are listed on the boards. They also go through each of the orders with you to make sure you have every item in your bundles. Go check it out!

There was an interesting selection of Latin American sodas and beverages, can goods and rice. The shelves were neat and tidy. This review is kind of a mixed bag, but, ultimately has a happy ending. I have a friend who sent me…read morea Kroger e-gift card so that I could use it for fuel, but, it turns out, Kroger doesn't allow you to use e-gift cards for fuel, even though it says in the terms and conditions of the e-gift card that you can use it for fuel. So, I spent an hour at this location in Avon trying to get it resolved but was unable to get it resolved because I didn't have certain personal information about the purchaser. Frankly, I don't understand why an e-gift card can't perform the same functions as an actual physical gift card. It would be great if Kroger could rectify this. My hope is that in the future, Kroger will allow e-gift cards to be used to purchase fuel. With that said, the acting store manager I believe, Joseph, was really great about everything. He was literally on the phone for probably 30 minutes trying to get it resolved and he had to call a few different numbers to get to the correct department. Unfortunately, as I said above, because I didn't have certain personal information about the purchaser, they could not move forward with the process. Joseph, however, went out of his way to help me and bought me $30 dollars worth of gas with HIS money. Pretty amazing customer service and Joseph was cool as a cucumber the entire time because he knew I was stressed about the situation. I'm not mad at Kroger or anything, because I love shopping there. But, they really need to update the legalese in the terms and conditions with regard to their e-gift cards so that it doesn't say you can purchase fuel with an e-gift card. Joseph is an amazing manager and human being for helping me because I truly did need to get gas and he made that happen. There are still great people out there who want to help and I am grateful that they exist, because we need as much human kindness as we can muster in this world. Because it is only us, as a collective, who can change this world. Thank you for helping, Joseph, you are a good egg:) I will continue to be a loyal Kroger customer because outside of this minor snafu, Kroger is still the best grocery store around.

It's cozy and very laid back with high top tables. I ordered an Old Fashioned but mixed drinks weren't really on offer unless it was something like rum and coke. I had a beer. It was fine. We were there for about an hour and a half. I would definitely return. The vibes were slow paced. We moved on to The Checkered Flag. Wowza!! It was a Thursday night but the place was hopping. We were joined by another friend with plans to have a bite to eat. The menu is unbelievable. So much to choose from. We were kind of boring because 3 of us chose the same thing and the other two chose the same item. Two had the pork tenderloin. Both agreed it was excellent. Three of us had the BBQ Pork spud. It's a giant baked potato with butter, a good spread of pimento cheese, moist pulled pork, BBQ sauce, coleslaw and green onions. It was fantastic. Normally the pork can become a bit dry. This was not the case. Cooked perfectly. I was able to order the Old Fashioned. They apologized because they were out of oranges but I was fine. It was a very good drink. There happened to be two musicians performing. I was quite impressed. This tavern was very very impressive. We all agreed to return Our final stop was Herrmann. It's a small brewery tucked away off a quiet street. We were offered several tastings of the beers on offer. We were all able to find something to our liking. I had a porter. There are tables for four spread around the seating area. It's comfortable and definitely a neighborhood haunt. All three places were definitely neighborhood taverns. The Checkered Flag was hands down the best! Indy has so much to offer!
