For the second time in a week, we found ourselves back at The Oakmont...and that says a lot. We travel the country as healthcare travelers and always try to find our favorite local spots wherever we're staying. So far, The Oakmont is easily our favorite brunch spot in Indy. The atmosphere is fantastic, especially during weekend brunch with the DJ and lively vibe. The service has been excellent both times...friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food has been great as well. The French toast sticks were amazing, and we both ordered omelettes that were excellent. They also have a really fun selection of brunch cocktails on the menu. If you're looking for a cool, energetic brunch spot, we definitely recommend checking out The Oakmont. We'll absolutely be back. read more

Just got done eating here and I will have to say the food was pretty good. First walk in and the vibe and atmosphere are a vibe. Greeted by a friendly host that sat us immediately and brought water. She checked up on us regularly and the food service was fast. I ordered an old fashion and it tasted great. As far as the food, I ordered the Birria Tacos. They were flavorful and father juicy. The consume was great as well. The only thing I will say is that they were rather flat and empty. My one suggestion would be to add some more meat in there. Fill them up. You only get three and I feel like they should be fat. Filled up !! Other than that they were pretty good. My sister had the Cajun salmon tacos and I was lucky enough to taste those as well. The popping 21+ downtown hang for the affluent disco dads, youthful outdoor types, my friend and I enjoyed it! Street parking only, noticed the outdoor tables got incredibly hot and it was only mid afternoon, weren't able to put our arms on a table at all. Staff was enjoyable, got our order in, morning after burger and breakfast bagel. Decent sizes but better be for these inflation prices, I liked the fresh bun, excellent assembly of beef and toppings, and balanced sauces too however for twenty bucks a burger should have included sides. I've been curious about The Oakmont, a fairly new Mile Square bar/diner with a rather unique vibe weaving together alt-decor with industrial with almost a grunge feeling. So, of course, I liked it. I'd been invited to have lunch to pick up a donation for a fundraiser I've been doing. I actually got there 10 minutes before they opened - the hostess was super friendly in being willing to seat me while also noting that it would be 10 minutes before I could be served. No problem. In those 10 minutes, I realized I was an hour early. I quickly apologized before they set any water,etc. down. I cruised Mass Avenue for a bit and returned at my scheduled time. The Oakmont is on North Delaware. It's on the backside of Stout's Shoe Shop and Mass Avenue. There's a parking lot - but take note that it belongs to Stout's and signage makes it clear you'll be towed if not a Stout's customer. I parked on Mass Avenue and wheeled around. This area has pretty good accessible parking and good curb cuts. The path to The Oakmont is free of obstacles and the door is easy access. The hosting station is right there at the door - so if they see you, they'll likely assist. This is a 21+ joint. As you enter, there's a dining room and a bar area. The Oakmont is relatively small, however, it's comfy. My 3-person party was sat at a four-top. The hostess didn't flinch with my wheelchair - always nice and she clearly knew how to handle it. I saw a restroom with an accessible sign. I didn't have reason to go there, however, that's a good sign. I will note that the bar itself is all high-top tables. One of my two dining companions originally sat at a high-top not realizing I was a wheelchair user. He quickly moved over. The Oakmont brought water to the table in a carafe. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea (my usual). I ordered an Oakmont Chicken Sandwich (grilled, though you can get it crispy) on challah bread with chipotle aioli, tomato, red onion, spring mix, and sharp cheddar. The menu says a side of house-made pickles, though I don't remember them being there - they may have been, though I'd have ignored them anyway. This sandwich was a delight, though this paraplegic's somewhat spastic hands sure made a mess. I absolutely loved the sandwich, though. I also ordered a side of chips (kettle). They were also awesome. Our server, whose name I've spaced, was spot-on. She was friendly but not fake. She was attentive but not intrusive. I got my always desired tea refill. She really was just awesome. They have a VIP club. There's also brunch on the weekend from 10a-3p. They also host private events. While this is a tad bit pricier than some places, it's fairly consistent with Mass Avenue and I found it to be worth it thanks to a winning atmosphere, great service, and a delicious meal. It is located on North Delaware, adjacent to Stout's Shoes, just off Mass Ave. We both selected the Buddah Bowl, a mix of egg whites, kale, broccolo and cauliflower. Overall it was tasty, a good size for the money and was delivered promptly even though there was a sizable crowd at lunch time. One nitpick: the bowl seemed to be overrun with kale. We both have preferred more broccoli and cauliflower, and maybe even some tomatoes for flavor and more color to the bowl. The Oakmont, is 21+ only, with a cool vibe, as a DJ spun tunes and football filled the big screen TVs. There's a dining room and a bar area. My friend and I stopped to check out the Oakmont when we were in Indy for a concert. We got there right at the end of the brunch time and so we ordered a mimosa flight ("a private jet") with sparkling rose. This came with 4 juices and a bottle of sparkling rose. It was perfect to spend a bit of time together relaxing on the patio on a beautiful day. We ordered a late lunch & both of us loved our meals. We were so impressed we planned to go back there on Sunday for brunch before leaving town. However we didn't make a brunch reservation & the wait was long. Made a reservation a week ago. The main con would be parking. Only 3 spots right in front of the restaurant. Then street parking on Delaware. There is a lot close by and it cost 5$ Mon-Fri and $10 Sat and Sun. If you can find street parking it is free Sunday's. Interior is very industrial with zero soft surfaces. I was a little afraid when the DJ started up. I figured it would be all house music. But it was actually recognizable songs from recognizable artist. DJ Annie did a great job. We ordered the fried devil eggs. Neither of us really liked them. I thought the truffle was over powering. We wouldn't get those again. My meal was Eggs Benedict with Capicola Ham and eggs fried over med with breakfast potatoes. The Eggs Benedict was amazing, and a bit spicy. The breakfast potatoes were also good, nice and crisp on the outside. Husband got French Toast and a side of bacon. The French toast was also amazing and the bacon was good. How have I waited this long to try The Oakmont?! Don't make the same mistake I did! Get online, book a reservation, and go there ASAP! In anticipation of a full crowd for brunch on New Year's morning, I made sure to RSVP ahead of time. I'm glad I did because people were being turned away as walk-in's. Just play it on the safe side and book a table in advance if at all possible. There is also outdoor seating available and it looks like there was a heater along one side of the tables, but that just isn't my jam during the winter months. Having never previously been to The Oakmont, I stopped in my tracks as soon as I entered the door. This place looks amazing! Neon signs, artwork right on the cinderblock walls, antiques, art, and a live DJ???? I'm in heaven, and there is a full bar and pancake portions as big as a Prius!! My friend opted for the French Toast, which was anything but your basic breakfast entrée. It's piled high in toast slices, slathered in syrup, generously dusted with powdered sugar, and covered in fresh fruit and full strips of bacon. Shut up and take my money!!! I opted for their version of the espresso martini and the breakfast tacos. Holy cow! That cocktail was extra boozy and so fabulous! The steak in my breakfast tacos was tender and generously seasoned. So yummy with the aïoli and scrambled eggs! Located right off of Mass Ave, parking was easy enough to find along the road as the few spots they have in their private lot were full. All the staff was super attentive, efficient, and hospitable. Seriously, this menu looks off the charts amazing! I'll definitely need to come back a few more times to try some of the other entrées and cocktails that caught my attention. Wow. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with smiles. The ambiance gives you a nice casual vibe with music and backgrounds for photo opportunities . Erica was really nice and explained the menu thoroughly to us. I really liked the private jet drink because you get multiple juices to mix your prosecco with. The food is amazing. All of the dishes were cooked to perfection. The food was so good that we went back for dinner. I didn't get his name, but the bartender who was taking everyone's order and making drinks was superb. We were offered if we want our appetizer/shareables served first or served with the main course, we picked the latter. We had the crab cake, which was very good, packed with crab meat, not just fillers. Then had the chimichurri steak, it was well flavored, and the meat was tender, serving size was on the small side for it's price. But the fries it came with was very enjoyable. We popped in for a quick dinner before a comedy show. We made reservations just in case - but it wasn't too busy! The staff was really friendly and the service prompt. Our drinks were really well made - which can really make or break it for me. The la Perla was their version of a spicy margarita - and it was really good. The deviled eggs intrigued us so we went for it. I don't know what i was expecting but they definjtely exceeded my expectations. Don't let "fried" scare you. It wasn't too much; and the flavors were still very very much there. The tequila chicken was excellent. I think often when I have broccolini at a restaurant it's over-saturated in oil. This was not the case. It was still slightly crunchy, but had great flavor - as did the chicken and the cauliflower purée. I'm assuming my husband loves his burger and fries because he ate every last bite. I did have a bite of the truffle fries and they were incredible. Would love to go back for brunch! A friend and I visited The Oakmont for brunch on Saturday and the first thing we noticed were all the fun holiday decorations! It was super festive and vibey! We had no wait and were excited to try a few things on the menu. The deviled eggs were great, I really enjoyed my biscuita and gravy (my fried eggs had perfectly crispy edges), and the variety offered in my friends basic breakfast was exactly what she was looking for, though her biscuit didn't turn out so great. We decided to treat ourselves to the fruity pebbles donut holes too, which sounded amazing, but were disappointing. They were pretty tough and chewy which is odd for a donut. Our coffees were good (one cold brew and one drip) but it took kind of a little while to get our server back to ask for a refill. A DJ started playing at about 12:30, which seemed a little early for us (maybe we're too old ) for such loud music, but it'd be fun during cocktails. read more

The Oakmont has a very lively and vibrant atmosphere. It is great for groups that want to have drinks, take Instagram-worthy food pics and enjoy and overall turn-up. They have a huge beverage menu and a full bar, but no cognac. Our server was really nice and efficient. The place was poppin' on a Sunday afternoon and I was happy that we'd made reservations, because there was not an empty table in the room. Halfway through our meal, actor Bill Bellamy walked in and sat at the bar, so you might even run into someone famous! I ordered the Garlic Truffle Fries and they were so good. I had to take more than half of them home due to the huge serving size. Pro tip: they reheated fabulously in the air fryer later on that day. The aioli was bomb too. I also had a stack of french toast (side order), that I couldn't finish. It was good though. The vibe was really upbeat. The food and service was good.
