Just got done eating here and I will have to say the food was pretty good. First walk in and the vibe and atmosphere are a vibe. Greeted by a friendly host that sat us immediately and brought water. She checked up on us regularly and the food service was fast. I ordered an old fashion and it tasted great. As far as the food, I ordered the Birria Tacos. They were flavorful and father juicy. The consume was great as well. The only thing I will say is that they were rather flat and empty. My one suggestion would be to add some more meat in there. Fill them up. You only get three and I feel like they should be fat. Filled up !! Other than that they were pretty good. My sister had the Cajun salmon tacos and I was lucky enough to taste those as well. Same thing. Fill them up a little more. But flavor was great.

Fun summer night out with friends at The Oakmont. Started at the bar with cocktails - six people had 5 different drinks and they were all very happy! The husband got a Terailer Park Tuxedo and it was delicious. The menu changes seasonally. I got the Oakmont Rice bowl and husband got the OG burger, and we split both. Mine was good but he claimed it was the best burger he's ever had!

The popping 21+ downtown hang for the affluent disco dads, youthful outdoor types, my friend and I enjoyed it! Street parking only, noticed the outdoor tables got incredibly hot and it was only mid afternoon, weren't able to put our arms on a table at all. Staff was enjoyable, got our order in, morning after burger and breakfast bagel. Decent sizes but better be for these inflation prices, I liked the fresh bun, excellent assembly of beef and toppings, and balanced sauces too however for twenty bucks a burger should have included sides. Did a bread pudding for dessert tho it was more fancy french toast. I'd also recommend Tap20 and Bodhi for the best of good eats!

I've been curious about The Oakmont, a fairly new Mile Square bar/diner with a rather unique vibe weaving together alt-decor with industrial with almost a grunge feeling. So, of course, I liked it. I'd been invited to have lunch to pick up a donation for a fundraiser I've been doing. I actually got there 10 minutes before they opened - the hostess was super friendly in being willing to seat me while also noting that it would be 10 minutes before I could be served. No problem. In those 10 minutes, I realized I was an hour early. I quickly apologized before they set any water, etc. down. I cruised Mass Avenue for a bit and returned at my scheduled time. The Oakmont is on North Delaware. It's on the backside of Stout's Shoe Shop and Mass Avenue. There's a parking lot - but take note that it belongs to Stout's and signage makes it clear you'll be towed if not a Stout's customer. I parked on Mass Avenue and wheeled around. This area has pretty good accessible parking and good curb cuts. The path to The Oakmont is free of obstacles and the door is easy access. The hosting station is right there at the door - so if they see you, they'll likely assist. This is a 21+ joint. As you enter, there's a dining room and a bar area. The Oakmont is relatively small, however, it's comfy. My 3-person party was sat at a four-top. The hostess didn't flinch with my wheelchair - always nice and she clearly knew how to handle it. I saw a restroom with an accessible sign. I didn't have reason to go there, however, that's a good sign. I will note that the bar itself is all high-top tables. One of my two dining companions originally sat at a high-top not realizing I was a wheelchair user. He quickly moved over. The Oakmont brought water to the table in a carafe. I ordered an unsweetened iced tea (my usual). I ordered an Oakmont Chicken Sandwich (grilled, though you can get it crispy) on challah bread with chipotle aioli, tomato, red onion, spring mix, and sharp cheddar. The menu says a side of house-made pickles, though I don't remember them being there - they may have been, though I'd have ignored them anyway. This sandwich was a delight, though this paraplegic's somewhat spastic hands sure made a mess. I absolutely loved the sandwich, though. I also ordered a side of chips (kettle). They were also awesome. Our server, whose name I've spaced, was spot-on. She was friendly but not fake. She was attentive but not intrusive. I got my always desired tea refill. She really was just awesome. They have a VIP club. There's also brunch on the weekend from 10a-3p. They also host private events. While this is a tad bit pricier than some places, it's fairly consistent with Mass Avenue and I found it to be worth it thanks to a winning atmosphere, great service, and a delicious meal. They have some fun dessert options I'd try upon return. Oh, and yeah. I'll definitely return.

I wanted to try a new-to-me place for a birthday lunch. And The Oakmont looked like a solid option. It is located on North Delaware, adjacent to Stout's Shoes, just off Mass Ave. We both selected the Buddah Bowl, a mix of egg whites, kale, broccolo and cauliflower. Overall it was tasty, a good size for the money and was delivered promptly even though there was a sizable crowd at lunch time. One nitpick: the bowl seemed to be overrun with kale. We both have preferred more broccoli and cauliflower, and maybe even some tomatoes for flavor and more color to the bowl. The Oakmont, is 21+ only, with a cool vibe, as a DJ spun tunes and football filled the big screen TVs. There's a dining room and a bar area. The Oakmont is relatively small, but it does offer outdoor seating. Note: There's a parking lot but it belongs to Stout's and signage makes it clear you'll be towed if not a Stout's customer.

Loved the vibes and ambiance of this place! Lots of cool decorations and lighting. Great place to get drinks or get dinner with a group of friends. The food was okay, and recommend trying the truffle fries. Service was good, loved that they told our group gratuity was already included when we were paying. There's a parking lot right in front of the restaurant, but it's for Stout's, and there's signs warning of getting towed. There's lots of street parking and parking on Mass ave.

I'm very been to the Oakmont for both brunch and dinner. While I prefer brunch menu, dinner was very good. Our server was wonderful! Kept our drinks full all night. The food was good too!

I came here with friends & we had such a positive experience! We were a fairly large group (9 people), but the service was great and our server was very attentive! We sat in the outside patio and it was a great way to end our night. We had the charcuterie plate and the truffle fries to share and both were delightful; very shareable amongst a large group. I had the gumbo & I expected a bit more meat, but overall it was flavorful. My friends had the tacos and the steak with chimichurri and raved about their dishes. definitely a spot I will return to in the future!

The presentation of the food is not bad and looks appealing when it comes out. The cinnamon pancake is good and definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The omelette is pretty average. The basic breakfast come with a full plate including home fries, fruit, a biscuit, meat, and eggs, which makes it filling. The truffle fries weren't bad and added a little extra flavor compared to regular fries. Overall, it's a decent spot for a standard breakfast, with a few standout items and a satisfying portion size.

Came here with some friend for the devour but apparently they only do brunch on the weekends so the devour was available which was fine The place had a very loud music sometimes it was hard to talk to the rest of my friends The service was good, just very regular nothing of note. I love the deviled egg and the garlic truffle fries, the bagel was a little messy and greasy to eat

Private jet mimosa flight with sparkling rose
    Amy H.

My friend and I stopped to check out the Oakmont when we were in Indy for a concert. We got there right at the end of the brunch time and so we ordered a mimosa flight ("a private jet") with sparkling rose. This came with 4 juices and a bottle of sparkling rose. It was perfect to spend a bit of time together relaxing on the patio on a beautiful day. We ordered a late lunch & both of us loved our meals. We were so impressed we planned to go back there on Sunday for brunch before leaving town. However we didn't make a brunch reservation & the wait was long. So make a reservation if you are planning to go! Will definitely return if I'm in Indy again.

We visited here for brunch, and they did not disappoint. The staff were friendly, and our server was quite attentive. This place is aesthetically pleasing, making it hard to resist taking pictures of the cute signs, the bar, and our food. I ordered a blackened salmon Caesar salad, and it was delicious. I would definitely order it again and might even try something else on the menu. I had a great time, and it's a place worth visiting whether you're alone or with friends and family. Check it out!

    Steak and eggs

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. The food was pretty good; I went with the steak and eggs and don't regret that choice. Where this place excels is the service, drinks and vibe. All 3 were top notch during my visit; prices for everyone was reasonable. Highly recommend, unless you want a venue that's very quiet. When I was there the place had a DJ and a few larger groups but the noise level was fine

Same great staff, same cool space, same open kitchen where a party of one like me can grab a counter seat and watch the chefs do their thing. I've honestly always enjoyed that part of the experience. Today I had the avocado toast with feta and an egg on top, and it totally hit the spot. Earlier this week I tried one of the newer menu items -- fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus a sample of jalapeño cornbread and Asian slaw. Incredible comfort food. And as someone who normally isn't much of a slaw person, I was surprised by how much I loved it. They also tried to tempt me with the roast beef special, which honestly looked great, but at 10:30 in the morning I just couldn't fully commit to roast beef yet. Maybe next time. The new name is a nice tribute to the owner's mother, Arleen, but thankfully it still feels like the Milktooth so many of us have come to enjoy over the years. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been in awhile.

I waited a bit long before I was greeted with a menu, waited awhile with an empty glass, waited with my food pushed away before it was cleared. No one asked if everything was okay even though most of my food was untouched. The food... my salad (house greens) was a great little salad! I say this despite finding a hair on the plate when I was about 2/3 through. My mussels and fries were not great. The fries were mid - they tasted kind of overdone or as if the oil were old. The mussels were actively bad. The portion (an app) was pretty small. There was hardly any broth/wine and they weren't piping hot. Also, they were actually not tasty and the texture was rubbery. They remained in front of me, uncleared, even after I closed my tab. They did not smell good. I don't anticipate being sick but I do anticipate being hungry.

Although the weather was beautiful, indoors was my choice. Al fresco dining is not my first choice. I don't like to do battle over my meal with insects and other wild life. I deducted 1 star for red wine served at room temperature. How is it that, red wines are chilled (55F) on the west coast but served at 'room temperature' (72F, 82F...) on the east coast. Had two dishes, they were OK, service was ok Would I go back? Yes, if the red wine was chilled.

Great location at…read morethe end of Mass Ave near Bottleworks--and pro tip: parking directly in front on the same side of the street is free. The space is big and fun, with a large dining room, an old-school video arcade game, interesting art, and a big screen playing movies, which adds to the laid-back, quirky vibe. It's counter service with clear menu boards on the wall, making ordering easy. I had the cheesy jalapeño grits with bacon and an egg and... my goodness. So incredibly delicious. One friend ordered the same grits but swapped in fried catfish instead of bacon--also a fantastic choice. Our third went with a classic plate with eggs and bacon, and let me tell you, the bacon is thick and plentiful. We ordered a side of fries for the table and there were more than enough to share. Self-serve coffee with all the fixings is a nice touch, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Fun atmosphere, great food, solid portions--definitely will be back.

We were greeted right away and looked over the menu a bit before ordering. My husband ordered the country breakfast with chicken (definitely the way to go) and I ordered the cheesy jalapeño grits with bacon. We each got a cup for water and I ordered a coffee, excited because I saw ahead of going that it was self-serve (like at Cafe Patachou where I can get as many coffees as I like without having to wait for our server to come check on us first). However, the self serve coffee excitement was short-lived after seeing that they only offered half and half as creamer (I'm lactose intolerant) and the two coffee carafes were not labeled for what was inside (decaf? medium roast? you'll never know!) and then one was completely empty and never refilled during our visit. The water station also was not ever refilled during our visit, so we were not able to get refills after filling up our cups the first time. It took a couple of tries to find a table we could sit at because you seat yourself, but several had not been cleaned after other guests left and had food and drinks spilled on them. There were definitely enough staff members there to be able to clean them in between customers, so we weren't sure why they were left that way. We ended up sitting in the middle of the room towards the front, across from the clown art wall, which made for interesting conversation as we looked through everything. When the food came out I was impressed with the portions, but I had no flavor whatsoever to my cheesy jalepeno grits. The egg and bacon were good, but not enough to make it a good dish and I would not order it again. And I love savory breakfast and grits in general, so it was a real bummer. My husband's dish was worth the visit though. It was a huge portion size and we honestly would just split it if we came back and ordered it. It was so savory, seasoned perfectly, and juicy. One of the best breakfast dishes I have tried recently! I really debated between 3-4 stars for this, but my dish was a flop, the lack of cleanliness for the seating area, the lackluster self-serve coffee station, and not refilling the beverages ultimately scored a 3 star review for me. I would come back and try something else though, or split the country chicken breakfast because it was really good. Hopefully next time the beverages won't be empty!

For starters, I love the concept of alcohol after 5 and no laptops after 7. I do wish there was a couple more food options but I can see the pros and cons of having a lot of food on the menu from efficiency to people staying too long. The chicken salad sandwich is so simple yet so good! Only downside is they run out of it so quick! My favorite is a cappuccino but i have tried a few different drinks from their unique menu and everything has been good! The ambiance is upbeat as everyone is busy working and there is house music playing along with current hits. People are doing everything from reading to interviewing people here. On thursdays they have jazz and i can't wait to attend soon! Go here quite often to meet friends and do homework. The parking lot is only a few spots so heads up on that. Will be back! 10/10

We came around 6:30 to get a table because the place fills up fast! Jazz music starts at 8pm on Thursdays and by 8 pretty much all tables were taken. On Thursdays they also have 1/2 off bottles so we decided to get a Prosecco to share. We ended up getting two ! They have a small evening menu ranging from charcuterie boards, olives, crab cakes and flatbread. I got the prosciutto, arugula and fig jam flat bread and omgggg it was DELICIOUS!!! The sweetness of the fig jam and the saltiness of the prosciutto is a match made in heaven! One thing I will say is the music is very loud for how small the place is and it was hard to hear but other than that, I will definitely be back. They are also a coffee shop in the morning and a cute spot to work remotely for a day and I'm going to plan to do that! I want to try their coffee !
