Went to Cafe Patachou yesterday morning and had one of the best breakfasts of my trip! The avocado toast was warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The bread was perfectly seedy with just the right balance of crunchy and soft, and they were generous with the avocado. I especially loved the radish and pickled onions on top. Such a simple breakfast, but every bite was so good. And then there was the pistachio iced latte. YUM. I added whipped cream, which really took it to the next level. Honestly, I'm kind of glad I only discovered this place on the last day of my trip because if I had found it earlier, I probably would have had four of those lattes. this place was really cute! we got the mimosa bottle, and they had their own branded prosecco, which is super fun. the little metal teapot was filled with orange juice too. omg i had like half the bottle and got super drunk and fell asleep after brunch. the omlette and the greens i had were delicious. the only problem i had was with the bread. first off, im super glad they give you 4 whole slices of bread because i was afraid that the omlette itself would not fill me up. but they put a gargantuan amount of butter on these slices of bread. i swear they melted an entire stick and soaked each piece in it. like i love butter, but even this was way too much butter for me. my brother literally wrung out a slice of bread and watched the butter drip out. the service was okay. kinda slow, but i think it's because we told the waiter we were waiting on a third person, but they never showed up. so i think they were kind of waiting for that, but we were ready to order and everything. this was such a cute place! i think it would be fun coming back! read more

This is a charming little brunch place for those who happen to be in the downtown area. Very convenient to where we frequently stay while in town, it's a nice place with excellent service. Went to brunch with some friends on Saturday morning and although the crowd suggested a long wait, they said it would only be 15 minutes. Great! And they stuck to that- we were seated on time, but then the issues started. We were sat at the same time as another table of 4 next to us. We got our menus and put our drinks in... and then waited, and waited... I got a hot chocolate that wasn't even hot when I sipped it, and tasted pretty bland. My friends got coffees that they liked, but our waitress seemed so annoyed to be working there! She was very curt and I understand if you're busy, but maybe try for some customer service... We ordered our food (as did the table next to us) and waited soooo long, like 30+ minutes, and we were considering flagging down the wait staff to ask about it, but our waitress never seemed to even be around to ask questions... anyway, we finally got the food, and it was tasty, but I just don't think I would bother with this place again. read more

This is a nice little spot in downtown Indianapolis. It's at the bottom of a business building and next to another café on the other side of the lobby. The menu had quite the variety. You can order things from the lunch or breakfast, which is all included on the same menu. I enjoyed the coconut curry chicken soup. The soup had a good taste, but I think it needed a little more coconut or thickness to make it more enjoyable. NICOLE was very attentive and kind. This place was extremely busy on a Saturday morning. Parking is metered, but I was able to find a spot on Washington Street without too much trouble. I liked the complimentary coffee bar while waiting for a table. Since I came with a couple of friends and didn't have reservations, we ended up waiting somewhere between 30 minutes to an hour before being seated. One of the biggest drawbacks was the restroom situation. There are only two gender neutral restrooms, and the wait was incredibly long. I waited close to 30 minutes just to use the restroom. It seemed like only one restroom may have been operational because I only noticed people coming out of one. For a business this large and as busy as it gets, I don't feel that's enough restroom accommodation. The first available table was outside, so we decided to take it. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best experience. There was nearby construction, making it very loud and difficult to carry on conversations amongst our table. It was also a windy and chilly day, and I definitely underestimated the weather. I should have brought a coat! We weren't in the sun so it was too chilly. The strong wind constantly blew napkins and other items around the table, which became frustrating. During cooler days, outdoor heaters would make the patio much more comfortable. Even though I was uncomfortable, our server was friendly and attentive to us. I ordered the Morning Edition breakfast, and it was excellent. I liked the variety of items included, everything tasted good, and the portion size was just right for me. I finished every bite and left satisfied. I really enjoyed the potatoes and cinnamon toast. I enjoyed my food and service was good, but if you're planning to visit on a Saturday morning, I would strongly recommend making reservations if possible. It could save you a long wait and potentially get you a better seating option. read more

This is very solid modern breakfast spot. Food was pretty good but relatively expensive for the portions. The coffee bar was very good. Food: I was very pleased with the quality of the food but you might be disappointed with the portions if you like a hefty breakfast. The coffee bar was very high quality featuring locally roasted coffee. Service: The staff was prompt and food service was fast. The waiter also gave us the check without us having to ask but it was a bit early about half way through the meal. We didn't mind because they reassured us to take our time, but some might think it rude. Atmosphere: The interior was clean and modern fitting the downtown business atmosphere. Cafe Patachou, what has happened to you? An extremely disappointing experience where we had to leave without ever receiving our food, or even being able to order. Our group of six planned to eat breakfast here before a Colts game. The hostess told us 20-25 minute wait, which we had expected, and why we had arrived early. Nearly an hour later the hostess called us and prepared to seat us. As she started to head toward the table she saw a group of 9 were being seated at our table with another table being pushed in to accommodate. The hostess instructed us to wait while she found out what had happened to our table. She came back to report to us that the manager had brought in a group of 9 and just seated them at our table. She was very apologetic and offered to seat us outside, which we agreed. However, we sat outside for 15 minutes and no one came to take our order. It was like once we were seated at an outdoor table they totally forgot about us. While we were sitting there we saw other groups being called in when tables became available, but no server ever approached us. After waiting 15 minutes we decided that we couldn't wait any longer, so one member of our group went in to tell the hostess that we would have to leave. This would be a one star review except that the hostess was so apologetic and was truly sorry that the manager had seated another group at our table. And she was unaware that no one had come outside to take our order once we were seated outside. Very disappointed with this experience. read more

I was visiting from out of town and saw this place is top rated. I got some salads and sandwiches to go for myself and coworkers. The green goddess salad was delicious with an incredible dressing it came with. It could have been a little bigger and come with more chicken for it being $20 but it was still very tasty. We were waiting for the rest our party to arrive and as soon as we were ready, we were seated very quickly. Really great breakfast spot. Has a good selection of different breakfast foods and drinks. It's a great upscale atmosphere mixed with a relaxed feel. I ordered the broken yolk sandwich with the pork sausage patties. The sausage was very flavorful and didn't have much of the hard gristle sausage can have. I ordered the Chocolate Ding Dong Cake through Goldbelly after seeing it multiple times on Facebook. I had to wait 2 months for a delivery date of September 2nd. it arrived on September 4th. When I called Goldbelly they told me it was late because UPS hadn't showed up for the cafe's evening pickup. By the time I received it, the box was dented. When I opened the box, the dry ice had evaporated and the ganache was soft and partially stuck to the plastic wrap. It appeared that the filling was mostly melted and didn't look anything like the videos. The entire cake had partially slid off the cake holder. it was all very disappointing. I had to refrigerate the cake to set the ganache. Ultimately, though the cake was moist, something in it caused my mouth to itch. I ended up throwing it out. I was sooo disappointed, especially given the high cost of the cake. read more
