Such a unique and charming restaurant! Art covers the walls, giving the space a warm, homey feel. We chose to sit outside and had a very kind server, though it did feel like he forgot about us a few times. Here's what we tried: + Quiche of the day (ham & cheese) with breakfast potatoes - Just okay. I wish the ham had been sourced locally, but the potatoes were great! + Brisket breakfast bowl - Also just okay. The brisket was cubed, which we weren't expecting, and overall the dish could've used a bit more flavor. Interested in trying other brunch items on the menu at some point!

I can't believe I haven't left a review for Ruth's Cafe yet. I rave to everyone I know about how amazing their blueberry pancakes are. Even with the change in ownership, they remain the same: as big as the plate, chock full of FRESH blueberries (if you order them that way like I do), and light and fluffy. I think about them all the time and always start planning our next trip in once we leave (there have been instances of us coming here multiple weekends in a row lol). My husband always likes to order the potato omelet and absolutely loves it. It's a huge portion, comes with a little side salad and toast/jam. I have strayed from the pancakes a few times to try something savory and have enjoyed those dishes too, but I have never had pancakes anywhere near as good as Ruth's elsewhere in Indy, so I like to get those when we come in.

Ruth's is just a gem. We tried it years ago and fell in love immediately. You have fun artwork and wall hanging that change when they are sold. You have painted walls with chalkboard specials. It is the true essence of a cute little cafe. We always have breakfast, and they have a large lunch menu too. I'm the warm seasons they have outdoor seating. The staff are like a family and give the BEST service. If you are going on a weekend morning be prepared to wait as their will probably be a line. My favorite here are their omelettes or scrambles with a fluffy pancake!

My brother and I went to Ruth's and had a great brunch! It felt like we were in & out in a flash! When we sat down we were quickly greeted by amour very nice waitress who took/brought our drinks quickly! The margaritas & mimosas are 10/10! We ate the "Build your Own" Scramble & Ruth's Crab Eggs Benedict... which again came out in like 5-6 mins! We were shocked it was actually our food! lol It's not a huge space in there but not cramped by any means in my opinion! Great spot!

The food was fine - it wasn't as flavorful as I expected. The cookies were amazing though. I understand why people rave. Service was good. The waitress was nice and refilled our drinks regularly. Ambiance was casual and cozy. It was a wonderful place to be on like a weekend morning.

I wanted a cute Sunday brunch and Ruth's Cafe was one of Yelp's favorites in north Indy! I arrived at 12pm and there was a 5 minute wait. Upon entering, I couldn't help but notice how cute and kitschy this place is - vibrant colors, pop culture references on the walls, and quirky furniture. I ordered the spinach melt on focaccia with a side salad, which was served in less than 10 minutes. Wow - the spinach melt was packed with tang and juicy from the roasted tomatoes. It had enough swiss cheese for a cheese pull (so satisfying). The focaccia wasn't in a traditional focaccia rectangle shape - it was the size of a large English muffin. However, the focaccia was soft, moist, and flavorful. I would love to buy focaccia to-go from Ruth's if possible...it was *that* good! I'm definitely coming back to Ruth's for it's cozy vibe, excellent customer service, and high quality food. There are plenty of vegetarian options to choose from for my next visit!

Came for brunch this time around.. good as always. The menu had plenty of options.. they always have a scramble special and quiche special. I've tried the quiche many times and it is always top notch. Today I decided to go for a benedict - but with a twist potato pancake base instead of english muffin. Very good - perfect poached egg - lovely hollindaise... i didn't realize it didn't have ham on it - but i re-read the menu and that was my mistake! Server was quick with my coffee and a refill. Also, you can scan your receipt's qr code and pay with apple pay. No need to wait for your card to be run. The place has a super funky vibe- all the tables are different. Let me try to explain the table next to me had a colts pattern top and mine a super hero. The chairs have decoupage - really cute.

Nice spot for brunch, the atmosphere is nostalgic and cozy. Food was good and service was even better. Variety of items to choose from, I had the Crab Benedict (a crab cake topped with sunnyside up egg) and side of fruit. I plan to explore the menu further.

We were able to get in just before closing and were seated immediately. This place has a bistro feel to it, small, quaint and cozy. Every day they feature a different omelette and quiche. I ordered the salmon omelette: Smoked salmon, fresh sautéed spinach and cream cheese. Served with your choice of slow-roasted potatoes, fresh fruit, or house salad with champagne vinaigrette, plus sourdough toast. The omelette was huge enough to get a doggy bag and was very satisfying. I'll definitely be returning.

The Traitor...aka Jon Snow benedict with a side of fruit. (and Tapatio added on top).

Had brunch at Ruth's Café and ordered "The Traitor... aka The Jon Snow," and honestly, I now understand why the North keeps fighting for this man. Served on homemade Norwegian potato cakes, the dish was comforting enough to survive a winter beyond the Wall. My side of fruit was fresh, and the service was fast and attentive... no betrayals here. We also noticed several diners around us ordering the Jon Snow too, so it's clearly the fan favorite of the realm. Pretty good brunch spot. I'd definitely return before winter comes.

The ambiance and vibe of the cafe was the best. Super cute and plenty of room for people without feeling too cramped. We arrived around 9:15 on a Sunday morning and were seated within 10 mins. This was our second time in about 10 years so we wanted to check it out again. I'm a huge fan of lefse so we came here with that in mind. Food: I got a coffee, the lefse, and the brisket hash. My husband got a double order of biscuits and gravy, with a side of bacon and a Diet Coke. The lefse was amazing, just like I remembered. I thought the brisket would be shredded and it was cut up in chunks, almost like a smoked sausage consistency. The flavor was good, but I don't think I'd choose that again. The coffee was regular and they had cream and sugar on the tables. My husband wasn't thrilled about the biscuits and gravy, but he's picky and thought the sausage had a weird taste to him. (It not their chorizo sausage gravy, which I had last time and it was fantastic!) All in all, I'm glad we have it a 2nd shot. It was pricey ($67 with tip) so I doubt we will be back for awhile. There are plenty of cheaper breakfast options in Indy, but it was ok to splurge I guess. Thanks for the lefse and great decorations!

Yes they can but I'd recommend getting there early, too late in the day makes it harder for them to accommodate.

I will cut some slack on the service, however - I arrives after what seems to have been a very atypical rush of Journey fans who inundated the place before heading to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. I waited a bit long before I was greeted with a menu, waited awhile with an empty glass, waited with my food pushed away before it was cleared. No one asked if everything was okay even though most of my food was untouched. The food... my salad (house greens) was a great little salad! I say this despite finding a hair on the plate when I was about 2/3 through. My mussels and fries were not great. The fries were mid - they tasted kind of overdone or as if the oil were old. The mussels were actively bad. The portion (an app) was pretty small. There was hardly any broth/wine and they weren't piping hot. Also, they were actually not tasty and the texture was rubbery. They remained in front of me, uncleared, even after I closed my tab. They did not smell good. I don't anticipate being sick but I do anticipate being hungry.

We started with bread service. One piece of my bread was cold, and the other was warm. The honey miso butter was maybe a highlight of the whole meal. I started with a kale Caesar salad. Nice crunch to it, and an appropriate amount of dressing. My wife and I split two meals. The first- Coq Au Vin Pot pie. The meat was flavorful- but man, there is a lot of pastry when compared to meat. We got the braised short ribs. We were greeted right away and looked over the menu a bit before ordering. My husband ordered the country breakfast with chicken (definitely the way to go) and I ordered the cheesy jalapeño grits with bacon. We each got a cup for water and I ordered a coffee, excited because I saw ahead of going that it was self-serve (like at Cafe Patachou where I can get as many coffees as I like without having to wait for our server to come check on us first). However, the self serve coffee excitement was short-lived after seeing that they only offered half and half as creamer (I'm lactose intolerant) and the two coffee carafes were not labeled for what was inside (decaf? medium roast? you'll never know!) and then one was completely empty and never refilled during our visit. The water station also was not ever refilled during our visit, so we were not able to get refills after filling up our cups the first time. It took a couple of tries to find a table we could sit at because you seat yourself, but several had not been cleaned after other guests left and had food and drinks spilled on them. There were definitely enough staff members there to be able to clean them in between customers, so we weren't sure why they were left that way. We ended up sitting in the middle of the room towards the front, across from the clown art wall, which made for interesting conversation as we looked through everything. When the food came out I was impressed with the portions, but I had no flavor whatsoever to my cheesy jalepeno grits. The egg and bacon were good, but not enough to make it a good dish and I would not order it again. And I love savory breakfast and grits in general, so it was a real bummer. My husband's dish was worth the visit though. It was a huge portion size and we honestly would just split it if we came back and ordered it. It was so savory, seasoned perfectly, and juicy. One of the best breakfast dishes I have tried recently! I really debated between 3-4 stars for this, but my dish was a flop, the lack of cleanliness for the seating area, the lackluster self-serve coffee station, and not refilling the beverages ultimately scored a 3 star review for me. I would come back and try something else though, or split the country chicken breakfast because it was really good. Hopefully next time the beverages won't be empty!
