My significant other got the blueberry waffle, and after trying a bite I can say it was insanely good too. Service was quick and everyone was friendly and helpful. It is a bit on the pricier side, but that is expected for a place like this. The ambiance is great, especially being in a walkable part of Fountain Square. They don't take reservations ugh and when we arrived after the hike from around gainbridge fieldhouse in high 30s weather the people loitering around did not inspire optimism. We put our name down and were told they would "get us in as soon as they can". We waited outside. In the teeth chattering cold. The thought of saying fuck it and bouncing did cross my mind but not seriously. Something told me to wait (probably the reviews I read that said explicitly "it's well worth the wait"). Excitement grew as each party left the restaurant with their little table away boxes and we knew our time was near. Eventually the host said the words we had been waiting for "Bekki, party of 2". We sat at their little countertop bar situation which was excellent because it provided a nice view of the behind the scenes cooking business. It is super warm and inviting inside with a lot of little Knick knacks. Service is friendly and prompt. We both wanted their bottomless drip coffee. GF ordered their bloody mary "it was good". I ordered a beermosa which was DELICIOUS! I don't know if orange juice most makes everything good or what. I had to try their famous Dutch baby which was fantastic. I don't feel qualified enough to really discuss it as I don't know if I have ever had one before but that fruity syrupy shit on top was really refreshing and tasty. The savory Dutch baby is the most interesting thing I've eaten in a long time. The base was some type of a very lightly, sweet, spongy pancake. Savory pulled pork, mozzarella and pineapple ranch with cilantro. Who even thought of this combination? A magician sent straight from heaven. We also got the biscuits and gravy, and I can't remember it had a fancy name, but once again, fabulous because it had a soft cooked egg on top and some type of interesting spin on a normal gravy. The spicy bloody was fabulous, they bring it out with a corona so that you can sip the corona after the "spice" to take to bite out. Make sure you check the hours because, they truly do have limited hours. It is worth the experience and it is truly a taste bud experience. Still exceptional after all these years! News that Milktooth will transform to a new concept this spring so we had to come before that happened. Lucky if you get a parking spot in their lot but there's free street parking around. Arrived later than opening time on the weekend so we had a 40 minute wait. Clean bright space; bustling atmosphere on the weekends. Noted the auto 20% gratuity and 3% fee for using credit added to bill listed on website and menu. However I had no issue with the friendly and food service. There was good communication when we mentioned a food allergy and felt safe assured to enjoy our meal. The coffee is always delicious and I have never had a bad latte here. Milktooth's menu is very gluten heavy, and as someone with a gluten allergy it is difficult to navigate ordering here. This time I ordered cheesy grits with bacon and an over easy egg. I love grits so much and I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the grits came out soupy and I kept having bites that bordered on uncooked which was not enjoyable. The egg was not over easy, none of the yolk was runny. The overall taste was fine and I appreciated the aftertaste of the dish, but I just wish it would have been executed better. Cherry on top was getting sick afterwards. Which is great, because I tend to find the restaurants I really love in these areas. The place was crowded, but I was able to get seated pretty much right away at the bar. The host and my server were very warm and friendly. The menu consists of breakfast classics as well as some more creative dishes. I already knew that I wanted to try one of their sweet Dutch Babies. It was the Peaches and Cream Dutch Baby on the menu at the time of my visit and it sounded perfect. Not familiar with the produce cycle out here, but peach season is winding down. It was delicious! (and aesthetically pleasing) Basically a thick, chewy, substantial pancake served with fresh fruit and cream on top. They have a savory version of the dish as well. The name doesn't lie, Milktooth serves up savory food, and an extremely pretentious vibe. What do I mean by that? Look at the twee photography on their website of opulent food compositions. Most of this food is not even served in the actual restaurant, there are barely any visuals describing what the actual restaurant is like. You need to order food à la carte here, it will be expensive. This is a great place to order a half dozen things with a half dozen other people and share them. If you're coming here by yourself for some breakfast, expect to spend $20-$30 and probably still be hungry. I got eggs, bacon, and a biscuit, and I think it was about $24. Showed up at 9:50 am on a Sunday and waited in a disorganized clump with a couple dozen others until the employees came out to open the doors and gently chastise the folks for not forming a proper line. Chose to sit inside as the patio tables filled up first. At this point, there were only two other groups indoors, mind you. Hostess first attempted to sit my party of two at the far end of the counter near the access to the kitchen/coffee bar, clearly one of the worst seats in the house. I requested a table instead, seeing as there were multiple two-tops still available. Felt like this annoyed the hostess, and she seated us at what I would judge as an inferior table near the highest traffic area of the restaurant. After this hiccup, the rest of the experience was positive. Our server was prompt and polite. Items were brought out as they were ready, not timed for our mains to arrive at the same time. I had the squash latke with cotija and radish, which was hearty but the latke desperately needed seasoning. There were no condiments or S&P on the table. The grits with cheddar, green onions, and bacon were delicious. Specialty iced brown butter latte was average and served inexplicably in a stemless wine glass. I mean the audacity of Jonathan Brooks and his chefs to put out locally sourced, creative, delicious food consistently - how dare they. I can't believe I just discovered this gem after living in Indy for a year. I got the grilled cheese and it was to die for. It's made with cranberry walnut bread, fontina, St Andre triple cream cheese, truffle honey, and a sunny side up duck egg. I thought I tasted brie cheese in there, but it might have been something else. All the flavors complement each other so well making it the PERFECT mix between sweet and savory. I need to come back and try more items on their menu!! Milktooth has that cozy brunch atmosphere. Right when you walk in, you can smell all the amazing food and you just know that what you're about to eat is gonna be sooooo good. The workers were all very friendly too! The restaurant's aesthetic is cool, artsy, but very welcoming; I've saw both outside and inside and both are pleasant. Be sure to get there right at opening, though if you don't want to risk waiting for a table. The food is always excellent and inventive and fresh; I highly recommend trying at least one suite and one savory option, particularly from their Dutch baby pancakes or waffle selections, and some sides to share (the cheesy grits are excellent!). The specialty coffee drinks are also great, like their signature brown butter latte. I've read about this restaurant in Bon Appetit and bookmarked it. After many years, I was able to dine here. We came around 10:30am and waited for about 30 minutes to be seated at the bar. There are no hooks to hang your bags. Jackets can be hung on a rack next to the restrooms. I started with the sweet potato latke (gochujang butter, sesame seeds, scallions, nori). As my entree, I had the savory Dutch baby pancake (Old Major Texas hot link, salsa macha, chihuahua cheese, baked egg, cilantro). They make different versions of each every so often. Both were just ok to me. The pancake seemed like pizza to me. It was a bit oily too. I mostly enjoyed the chicken wings my friend got. My bf really enjoyed the biscuits & gravy. Today, we popped in at 1 and tho they were busy we were seated within a few minutes. We ordered and were served within 15 minutes. My partner and I split the latke, which was topped with thin slices of pear, chives and amazing ramp butter. My partner also got the cheese grits. I got the farmer's salad with chicken and a delicious strawberry matcha with oat milk. My 8YO son got a smash burger and fresh-squeezed lemonade. His report: "The lemonade was sweet and sour and super fresh, to my delight" "The burger came out piping hot and the meat was perfectly cooked. It was delicious". My husband and I split a savory Dutch baby pancake and a sweet Dutch bay pancake. The food was very good. I'm not used to the common table seating and it's not my favorite. I was a bit taken aback by the gratuity automatically included of 20%. And 3% for credit cards. Our 2 pancake entrees with an orange juice and Diet Coke and gratuity was 57.00. Kinda expensive.
