Excellent food and service! I have never believed that shakshuka could actually be good but boy was I proved wrong!! This was my favorite dish! The feta fries were also really good. I want to try everything and I cannot wait to return. The space is cute and decorated with local art. Highly recommend!

Nice little neighborhood cafe. Very welcoming folks and atmosphere. Killer coffee if I may say so. I just had a regular cup of joe, but they also offer many fancy coffee concoctions. Something for every taste. Their menu is small and a little eclectic. Something for the adventurous amongst us, which is not a bad thing by any means. I chose the hash with my eggs over easy and it was delicious. The crepes, bennys and shakshukas also received high marks from my group members. Parking can be quite difficult in this area and you may need to move onto some side streets.

One of my new favorite restaurants. Their food is flavorful, well-balanced, and thoughtful. The chickpea salad is served well-chilled, making it a refreshing accompaniment to the dishes we ordered. And it's not boring by any means. The well-cooked consistency of the chickpeas and the flavor of the dressing were perfect. I could eat a whole bowl by myself. Their shakshuka was another great vegetarian option, served with their fry bread. The moussaka bowl was a hit at the table, especially the bolognese. Everything was well-seasoned. Not bland and not too salty. Just right. It's a great place to order family-style if you're with a group. Employees are friendly, with great service. The owner greeted us and created a welcoming environment. The chef came to the table and we could see his passion for cooking and producing quality dishes.

Oooooo! A new place close to home! I've been waiting for Yazsh to open since their sign went up months ago. I went with a group for brunch. Their menu isn't overwhelming but I still struggled making a decision. I landed on the salmon benedict. I loved the puff pastry used for the bread and my salmon was delicious. I was surprised it didn't have a poached egg. The sauce was flavorful but slightly salty for me. All the same, I was happy with my food. I also got a spiced mocha, which was quite good. Most of the dishes were under $20. The space is small and parking will be on the street. I was able to walk, which makes me super happy. I am so excited about a new restaurant in this area and look forward to a return visit to try some of those other dishes. Try Yazsh for something tasty and a little different!

Had an amazing breakfast with my brother (it's walking distance from his house). Excellent service. Loved the open, bright, and airy atmosphere. I got the hash and my brother got the egg scramble. Both were great. Serving sizes were a bit small for the price, IMHO and I didn't really see the fries in my hash. We both asked for hot sauce and got individual house made hot sauce that was amazing! Be careful though, the heat will sneak up on ya! I got the 3 and 1 coffee as it was something different and really liked it. The server went light on the simple syrup and she made the right call!

Just ok. People were really friendly, thrilled to see a neighborhood serving place here, and I wanted to love the food, but it was just ok. I ordered a Mousakka bowl and was really bummed out that eggplant and (I think) strips of squash were battered and deep fried. The meat sauce to bechamel ratio also made it too heavy. Their cucumber salad is pre-prepared and so you couldn't omit anything. (Well the menu said "modifications politely declined" anyway), Their salad had too much going on it. One of my favorite Mediterranean salads is cucumber, tomato, and onion, but this one also had tri color peppers and didn't taste like it had lemon juice, which always freshens up the dish. It could just be beginning kinks, but I want to be honest.

I'm so happy this area has a cute and delicious cafe to grab lunch or coffee! I came on opening weekend and had a lovely time. The owner greeted me and asked me a few questions about myself. The wait staff is really attentive and kind as well. The inside feels so cozy and I loved the homage to the owners familial roots with all the photos on the wall. It was just me, so I ordered the sausage melt and a coffee to go. The sausage melt was to die for!!! Unique and bold flavors that worked so well together. The specialty latte was very yummy as well. I can't wait to come with friends so I can try a true spread!

My partner and I really enjoyed our meals! We could tell that the food was cooked with great ingredients and with great care! My partner had the arancini and it was perfection. All of the flavors were balanced and bright! I had the lukanka salami sandwich and it was so flavorful without being too heavy. We also really loved the service and the atmosphere. The owner has a lot of love for the restaurant and it's apparent! We will absolutely be back!

Stuffed French toast man with berry coulis arms. We ate our food too quickly to get any good photos.

Our foodie group came to check out the new restaurant Yazsh for brunch one Sunday afternoon and it was worth the experience. This new Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant in downtown Indy served a variety of brunch items and unique beverages that I had never heard of which caught my attention. This is a small venue, so there is not a lot of space for large groups. You would definitely need to arrive early in the morning to guarantee a seat because it fills up quickly, or have a seat at the bar. The ambiance is very quaint and nice with a beautiful bar area, and the artwork on the walls are lovely and very personable. It does make you feel like you are at home when you come to Yazsh. The food is incredible and top notch quality. The beverages are also very impressive. I ordered the egg Scramble entree with a matcha Lavender Latte. The matcha Lavender Latte was fantastic and tasted amazing. It was very fresh off the machine and the combination of flavors came out of the beverage. The egg Scramble entree was just perfect! The eggs were very fresh and the combination of veggies made it taste even more delicious. I also had a side of fruit cup which was very good and very fresh. I sampled the crepes which were pure heaven in my mouth. The chickpea salad is also the best thing that they have on the menu. It is a great healthy side dish to accompany your entree. The service is wonderful and incredible among the staff. They took very good care of our group and made sure we had everything we needed. Yazsh is a wonderful new addition to downtown Indy and I predict it will stay around for a long time. Everything about this place is perfect and flawless! You need to come experience brunch at Yazsh! It is worth it!

What a great spot. Met a friend for lunch and tried the feta fries and the vegan chickpea sandwich. Both were super flavorful, and the food was fresh. Excellent service! I will say... it was pricey for lunch, but worth it overall. I'll be back.

    Egg scramble

Mediterranean food with a flare! I've been for brunch twice in the last few weeks and the food and coffee are spot on! Highly recommend the egg scramble, Benedict, or hash for brunch! Need to come back for lunch/dinner.

The Hash with the house made hot sauce and my half-drank Lemon Lavender latte with oat milk :)

For other first-time…read morevisitors, I recommend letting the coffee sit for about 30 seconds before taking a sip so the fine grounds can settle to the bottom. Also, don't stir it after it's served, as that will bring the grounds back up into the coffee. Be sure to leave the last sip or two in the cup, since that's where the grounds collect. The coffee itself was excellent, but I would recommend that servers explain these details to first-time customers or at least ask whether they've had Turkish coffee before. A little guidance would make the experience even better for newcomers. We also ordered the hummus as an appetizer, and it was fantastic. The naan was served warm, and the hummus tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. It was the perfect way to start the meal. We also ordered The Bosphorus Special, a mixed grill platter featuring doner, kofte, chicken kebab, beef kebab, Adana kebab, and chicken Adana kebab, served with vegetables and white rice. Everything was absolutely delicious. The meats were cooked perfectly, tender, and packed with flavor. I'm so glad my significant other and I decided to share this entrée because the portion was very generous, and we still had plenty of leftovers to take home. While the service could have been a bit more attentive, it did not negatively impact our overall experience. After our food was served, our waitress did not check back to see how everything was or whether we needed anything additional. We also ended up with quite a few leftovers and requested to-go containers. Initially, only one small container was brought to the table, which required two additional follow-ups before we received enough containers for the remaining food. One suggestion I would offer is that, for tables ordering larger meals, it may be helpful for servers to proactively offer to box up leftovers as dishes are cleared. For just two people, our table became overcrowded rather quickly, especially with the generous portions. Since our waitress did not return after the food was served, it made managing the table and leftovers a little challenging. That said, we had a wonderful first experience overall. The food was outstanding, the portions were generous, and we look forward to coming back again in the future.

Both were delicious and well portioned. The guvec (veggie casserole) had eggplant, mushrooms, peppers, carrots, and other veggies plus rice and a small salad. I called ahead and ordered: 2 kebab sandwiches 2 falafel sandwiches 2 kibbeh orders baba ghanoush fattoush salad The employee on the phone told me the order would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived, I was told it would actually be another 17 minutes. I waited in my car, came back after that time passed, and then was told "maybe 13 more minutes." The biggest issue was not just the wait -- it was the lack of honesty and time management. If the restaurant had simply said from the beginning that they were behind and needed closer to an hour, I would have understood. What frustrates customers is being repeatedly given inaccurate wait times. People plan their schedules, families, and evenings around the times restaurants provide. After waiting inside, sitting directly in front of the counter, I watched the cook START preparing parts of my order almost an hour after I originally placed it. Items like the baba ghanoush, salad, and kibbeh -- foods that are usually already prepared -- were only assembled then. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after me and ordered at the restaurant were served before my takeout order was completed. Unfortunately, the food quality also suffered from the long delay: The sandwiches were soggy The salad had water pooled at the bottom and no dressing The kibbeh was soaked in grease For the amount paid, I expected much better service, communication, and food quality. A simple apology and realistic timing would have made a huge difference.

Located in a cute blue house, this is conveniently located near Lucas Oil Stadium and there was a huge concert going on the night we were there, but we were still allowed to park in their parking area. Inside has nice lighting and is pretty plain but has a homey feel. The menu contains many items we're familiar with having visited Greece twice. So I'm going to be a little critical here with my review of the food. I ordered the Greek Spaghetti, which I have had in Greece. Unfortunately this was not at all what I was expecting or anything like Greek spaghetti. What I was served was basically Prego spaghetti sauce with pieces of gyro in it. Traditional Greek spaghetti (or Makaronia me Kima) is a wonderful sauce that's seasoned with all kinds of memorable spices. It's definitely not pieces of gyro meat thrown in a sauce. So while this was fine, it was not what I truly wanted or thought I was getting so I was pretty disappointed. My husband got the chicken souvlaki and that was better but still not quite like what I remember. The meat was almost smoked and lacked some of the Greek spices that gives it a distinct taste. And the tzatziki...well, let's just say it tastes like whipped feta and was lacking in flavor too. I did enjoy the pita bread. Our service was underwhelming as well. It took a while for anyone to notice we were there and needed to be seated and the server basically did the bare minimum, never even asking if we wanted our water refilled. Overall, it was fine. If I had never been to Greece, I may have a different opinion but this isn't someplace I really want to go back to.
