There's not much I can have at Amelia's as I'm gluten free and dairy free by necessity. But I had a delightful canned ginger soda here while my mini BFF enjoyed a chocolate buckwheat cookie. The cookies are that big, bakery size and all the options looked delicious! As did the pile of cinnamon rolls in the case! We sat out on the front patio, which was lovely. It was busy, so we were lucky to snag a table! Our quick visit to our first visit to Amelia's recently was a pleasant experience. We were wanting a bit of coffee and I didn't want to go to the large chain, so made the drive around to Amelia's. My first impression was that the outside areas both front and back were nicely done and if were slightly warmer then I would have loved to sit outside with my coffee. The French Toast flavored iced coffee with oat milk was delicious (better than expected), and so was my SO's cafe mocha. We'll be back soon if we're in the area. read more

What a delight Amelia's is! I came here with a few co-workers and discovered such a great little spot to work for a bit and enjoy some sweet treats. I ordered a kouign amann pastry. It was flaky with just the right amount of sweetness. And I got my go-to: a spiced chai latte. On this particular day, a snow storm was about to blow in, so it was nice to enjoy the winter day here, knowing that we would soon be cooped up inside for days. It made the experience all the more precious. I also noticed that you can buy local coffee and loaves of bread, among other pastries. Kinda still kicking myself I didn't buy a loaf to bring home with me, with the incoming storm and all. The music that played on the speakers was also a delight. Such a cute bakery! its attached to Bluebeard so you know everything this good! Inside, there's alot of different items, perfect to make a board if you wanted. Also picked up a savory pastry which I enjoyed even more while watching my nephews soccer game. Perfect snack and doesn't make a mess. This location is so adorable with the best patio. Delicious pastries at a local favorite bakery. We got a lot to try as a family. We got: cinnamon roll croissant- The cinnamon croissant was delicious and a unique take on both the cinnamon roll and a croissant. If you love cinnamon this is definitely the pastry for you. The icing inside the middle was still ooey and gooey. Earl Grey financer - this was my second favorite pastry because the flavor of Earl Grey tea was so strong. Also, the cake itself was surprisingly extremely moist. When I got home, I put this in the microwave for 10 seconds and it was perfect. I love earl grey, so this was such a yummy little loaf. Banana walnut bread- to me, this was a pretty generic pastry. It's pretty much the muffin top of a banana walnut muffin. chocolate croissant- this was another really good pastry, but again it was pretty generic, and I feel it's consistent across most bakeries when you order a chocolate croissant. It is a good size. Capocollo twist - this was one of the few savory pastries in the display, and it had almost the taste of pizza without the marinara sauce. It's pretty good, especially if you are wanting a savory pastry. Kouign Amann- this was my absolute favorite pastry because of the complexity of the flavors and textures. It was sweet and it was also salty, and it had the soft buttery texture of a croissant with some sugar crunch on the top. this specific pastry was a five out of five for me. the seasonal autumn roll lattes- The lattes are pretty good, but honestly, I could go for a lot more fall notes. Stopped in here last week with my girls! I liked that there was outdoor seating both in the front and back! The little train car seating in the back is so unique! The only thing I'd say can be better is the friendliness of the staff. I wasn't really greeted and the gentleman that was at the counter wasn't very welcoming. I was really happy when the Windsor Park Amelia's was built in my neighborhood, but it has seemed to lack the already established "standards" that the Fountain Square Amelia's has set. On many occasions I have received overly salty items and on more than one occasion, staff at the Windsor park location lacked food handling safety practices. I still enjoy the area and the fact you can sit outside and eat, I just believe that if you want the A1 experience, to travel to Fountain Square. This Amelia's does have the option for coffee which is a nice addition to their regular pastries. This store also runs out of loaves a bread quickly so make sure you visit early. read more

What a cozy little spot for coffee and treats during Brunch this morning. I chose the chilled Chai and ham and cheddar biscuit. My partner ordered a latte and a cherry almond danish. The biscuit was served cold which i thought was strange for a savory biscuit but i went with it and I'm glad i did. AMAZING! I need their secret as to how a chilled biscuit can still be so crunchy! My partner raved about the cherry almond danish which looked incredible. Also... as a diabetic it was nice to have savory options to choose from. I recently stopped into Amelia's for a mid-day snack. Though they were running a little low on pastries due to the time of day, I decided to order one of their chocolate chip cookies, a slice of olive oil cake, and a spiced chai latte. I sat outside on their patio to enjoy my treats, which is very spacious and perfect with the weather this time of year. The olive oil cake reminded me a bit of corn bread but with a faint aftertaste of olive oil. The chocolate chip cookie was a nice size and the perfect blend of chewy in the middle and crispy on the edges. When I ordered the spiced chai I don't think I was expecting it to be so spicy! I had to drink it slow because it had a kick to it and the spice was very strong. It would've been perfect for a sore throat or a cold but for a regular day I think it was a little too spicy for me. While there, I also picked up some of their $5 Palestinian soap which I haven't tried yet, but have heard really good things about. I enjoyed the treats so much that I had to drop into their Stutz location the next day to try some of their croissants and bread. I can't believe I'm just now writing a review of Amelia's! I moved to the area two months ago and this was my first stop - I immediately fell in love and frequent it. Their dark chocolate brownie is a favorite of mine, but you really can't go wrong with anything from their bakery. I brought a loaf of foccacia with me to a dinner party last week and it was a big hit. Come often and keep trying new things. You won't be disappointed. How could you not give all available stars to the bakery with the best bread in town? Have you tried a nice brie with the Walnut cranberry bread? You must... it's the perfect combination. I keep switching back and forth between the city loaf and the country loaf. Each has it's selling points for me. As I live by myself, I tend to portion my loaves out and put like 3-4 slices into Ziploc freezer bags and freeze them. They are still wonderful once you thaw them out. Especially toasted... omg, so good Besides the bread I am also a sucker for those cinnamon rolls made with the croissant dough. Not overly sweet, with just a bit of glaze to give it a bit of sweet. Then again there is decadent butter. It's so dang buttery you gotta love it. I also enjoy their fancy coffee drinks sitting out on the patio, or a quick gelato before going to see a show next door. Wow!!! Stopped in on a whim with my family to grab snacks for our road trip and was really impressed by the selection of products. We would have loved to try all of the baked goods but had to narrow it down to just a few. The only problem I have is that even though the coffee is small, plan-based milk costs extra. Americano has only one shot of espresso, which makes it water with a coffee flavor. read more

This Amelia's location is beautiful. Located in the Windsor Park neighborhood of Indianapolis. Kan Kan Cinema and Brassiere and an cute Spades Park Branch Library that was built in 1912 are located within walking distance. They have nice tables out front and tables out back and an old elevator cart you can sit in and eat. They have an upstairs area also. Unfortunately, they were sold out of all the breads and only had I think 4 types of cookies. :-( The chocolate chip cookie was ok. It was more crunchy than chewy. This is the second time this has happened. They're open until 8 pm and this was close to 6 pm. I read Nicole S.'s review and she had the same situation happen. The business owners was response was get there early. Not everyone can make it there early. Instead of saying oh sorry we're trying to keep up with the demand and have increased our production of our breads and baked goods it's get there early. Some people are at work by 8 am when they open. I've heard they're moving there bakery over closer to this location. Hopefully this fixes this issue.
