Sometimes you feel guilty about giving a low review and Two Chicks Whisky Business puts me in that position. The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming and they deserve 5-stars. For me there are two factors that brought the rating to below expectations. 1.) I didn't think the food was good quality. I tried the peach and cherry coblers. For me, the filling tasted like canned pie filling and the crust was pretty mediocre as well. 2.) The hours here are strange- I feel like I drove by numerous times in hopes they would be open to give it try. My understanding is when they are open they close when they run out of product for the day (fair enough- and it seems popular with locals). All in all, I probably won't be back to Two Chicks but it seems like a popular spot for other people. Maybe you'll enjoy it more than me :) read more

This is one of my FAVORITE businesses that I've visited this year. I had a meeting at The Prewitt (1920's movie-theater-turned-restaurant) across the street and the owners told me to stop by Two Chicks Whisky Business before heading home. I'm SO glad I did. I immediately loved their fun Christmas decor out front. It was so jolly and cozy. I then pushed the door open and was immediately greeted by the friendliest and most enthusiastic owners. The team baking in the back was all cheerfully chatting and talking with customers too while they worked. It's a small space inside, but the two glass cases were filled with stunning cupcakes and the cases on top of those had an incredible-looking array of cookies. My husband is a sucker for chocolate chip cookies and my mom loves those peanut butter blossom cookies, so I opted for one of each. I told the owner that The Prewitt sent me over and it was my first time, and she dropped a third cookie in the bag for free and smiled. So kind. I started taking a photo of my cookies and said "Sorry, I'm being extra!" and they all laughed and said "Honey, we're always extra here!" It made me laugh and I just loved their personalities and energy. They then handed me my cookies in a Christmas gift bag. They said they order them in bulk around the holidays and it really did add to the experience. I felt like I was leaving with a personal present. My husband absolutely loved the chocolate chip cookie and my mom said that the peanut butter blossoms were the best ones she's EVER had. I've been to this bakery pretty much since they opened up earlier this year in Plainfield and it's become my go to bakery for desserts when we have parties or special occasions... or if my sweet tooth just sends to have a craving. Since the first time I stepped in, the owner and her staff have made me feel welcome and have always taken the time to have a small chat with me. I love coming across awesome local businesses. This an an awesome place to satisfy your sweet tooth. It is a Plainfield hidden gem. It is a neat little shop that is locally owned and run by one of the friendliest families that you can meet. I was greeted with a smile and they gave me a quick rundown of the shop. There is a small lot on the side of the shop to park. They also have a bench out front that you can sit and eat your treats while watching traffic go by. They bake everything fresh the day of. They have cookies, cupcakes, cobbler, cakes, pies, brownies, and cheesecakes. It is cool that everything is made fresh and baked the same day because they have a different assortment of treats available pretty much everyday. The only downside though is that they have a limited amount of sweets. I got there about 3 hours before they closed and they were tapped out. They only had some cookies available. I got 6 cookies (3 M&M and 2 Chocolate Chip). The owner understood that I drove all the way there for just some cookies. She was very apologetic and without prompting, threw in a couple of extra cookies. That was so nice and I will definitely be back. The cookies were huge and delicious. My 2 year-old ate a whole cookie by himself. They did not last long in my house and honestly, never had a chance. They are active on social media and do post early closing due to lack of goods, so I recommend keeping an eye out for that. I really recommend getting there early so you have your choice of the shops delicious treats. My major knock on this shop is that it is only open 3 days a week (crying emoji). I guess that is good for my diet though. Anyway, I highly recommend this shop. It is owned and run honorable and respectable family and their sweets are delicious. Two Chicks Whisky Business is the REAL DEAL. Blown away at this shop. The inside was in full Gala with Barbie decor. The staff were incredibly kind and thorough. There is a reason this place gets, consistently, a 5/5. This establishment has limited hours and open days a week. That being said, well worth the exclusive hours when you try a bit of their food. We found this place quite by accident. We were traveling through this town while I was visiting family in nearby Greencastle. We were stopped at a traffic light and we spotted the sign in the window... Bakery and cobbler. My first thought was a bakery that also fixes shoes?!? And what about that Two Chicks Whiskey Business? What kind of place is this? My partner in crime that day (my daughter) thought for sure the reference of cobbler meant they also sold cobblers...as in cherry cobbler or peach cobbler (they do also sell those, but I'll go back to that later). When we got back home we decided to look them up to find more about this business. We were intrigued by all the reviews and pictures and decided we needed to go back there later in the week when they opened again (very limited hours since COVID). We also read that they close when they run out each day. So we headed out on a Friday morning to be there shortly after they opened at 10 am. When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised at how adorable it is in this bakery! Everything is displayed beautifully and the place is so historic. Talking with them we learned that there was originally a cobbler shop there , hence the reference to bakery and cobbler shop. And they do sell the dessert variety of cobblers there too!!! ;) Thankfully there weren't any other customers in the shop at the moment (there was a line within a few minutes) and we could ask about the different selections. We ordered 2 m&m cookies for the littles in our group and proceeded to order cheesecakes and cupcakes to go. Everything was wrapped beautifully. Everything is packed individually so they don't get squished in a box. Even the cupcake box has special packaging. Everything was absolutely delicious! I'm typically not a big fan of frosting, but this was delicious. The frosting was fluffy and not too sweet. The cake was moist and the cheesecake was rich and creamy. I am looking forward to visiting this amazing bakery on my future visits to Indiana. This place is a gem! read more

Go check this place out! Yummy cupcakes and cookies. Super nice owner and employees. I went for the 1st time on NYE to get some holiday treats. We got a mix of boozy and standard cupcakes. The owner and I chatted about the personalized frosted sugar cookies, and I mentioned how I really like them. As I was checking out she handed me one for free! I really appreciated that, and the cookie was tasty and light! The vanilla cupcake was my favorite; it was flavorful, fluffy, light and cute. I will be back! read more

Two Chicks is definitely on my list to visit, because my daughter brought me cookies from there and they were mouth-watering delicious, best ever (peanut butter cookies with a hershey kiss on top). The cookie just melted away in my mouth with a perfect texture. My only complaint is that I only had two!! She said the building and the staff were incredibly impressive and fun, so I looked at their website and it's the kind of place you want to go. I don't understand the name of the store, but I'm sure there is a story. It doesn't sound like a bakery if you just see the name. Choosing them for our wedding desserts was THE BEST decision! We go into the store all the time to try new things or get our favorites so we knew we had to use them at our wedding! We worked directly with Paige. She handled the numbers of each item for the order, made the items, delivered, and set up. She was on time. Everything looked perfect, but more importantly it ALL tasted amazing! We got so many compliments throughout the night from our guests. I've often heard wedding cakes gets wasted but our desserts did not! We ordered extras and went through all of them as people went back for seconds. OMG! Finally got there and I got 6 cupcakes, 2 cinnamon rolls, apple cobbler and 1 slice of chocolate chip cheesecake. Very generous with the frosting! Moist cake and yes, one had a scoop of edible cookie dough on it! They male their baked goods daily so when it's gone....you have to wait another day. It is a very popular place so I went when the opened on a Saturday right after they opened and there was already a bunch of people there. Two Chicks Whisky Business now has their own brick and mortar location on Main Street in Plainfield. Right next door to Paw Street Bakery. Parking is convenient with the lot just east of the shop on the corner of Main and East Street or the lot west of the shop. I've been purchasing their delicious bakery goods at their Food Truck or on weekends at Orange Leaf in Avon for sometime now. I adore the various flavors of cheesecakes and cobblers. I was super excited to hear a few months ago they'd be opening a shop in old downtown Plainfield on Main Street. Their open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. The grand opening was today and I was warmly greeted by one of the owners, Rhonda or Paige's father from what I gathered. He was greeting and thanking all for coming while holding the door for those coming and going. He was very personable, friendly and I enjoyed chatting with him while waiting in line. The shop is cute, bright and cheery, newly remodeled, has a couple small dine in tables and extremely clean. The two bakery cases had a continuous line from the minute I entered with more customers entering as I was leaving. They had run out of a few items by the time I arrived at 11:30. The line moved quickly as one person pulled the requested bakery goods while another ran the square at another counter. It was very efficient and keep everyone moving with a very minimal wait. I purchased a few brownies, a slice of chocolate chip cheesecake, and a blackberry and peach cobbler. Everything is so fresh with generous portions. They did have to close early due to selling out so their busy preparing for tomorrow. Be sure to stop by, check our their new location and welcome them to Plainfield. read more

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite bakerys for my weekend treats and its a really great addition to the downtown Plainfield area. We like to catch them early on weekends as they tend to sell out quickly which says a lot about their baked goods! They serve a variety of desserts including pies, cheesecakes, cupcakes, cobblers, cookies, etc. Their menu changes eveyday so it's good to follow them on social media to see what tasty treats they will have that day. My favorite is the sugar cream pie ( I only recently discovered this pie) It is hella good here! The staff is super friendly which is a major plus! The store is clean, inviting and very aesthetically pleasing! Plus points for giving out military discounts! Again, great addition to the downtown Plainfield area. What a delightful little shop in downtown Plainfield! I went on their second day as a brick and mortar shop and timed it when the line was fairly small. The only problem with their layout is that it is hard to see the actual goodies while you wait in line (note that you can see the menu board which helps.) The shop is arranged with a bank of high stools / bar along the window, the goodies / order counter on the left, and the payment counter / coffee supplies on the right. The menu consists of mostly desserts. They have cookies, cupcakes, brownies, cobbler, pie, and cheesecake. They also had one kind of cake when I stopped by. I found it interesting that the window shows the time they open, but not closing times. I think they go until the food is gone. In fact, by 10 a.m. the brownies were sold out! I decided to go with a blackberry cobbler (large serving!) and a slice of apple pie. The cobbler had a delightful flavor, but instead of most cobblers I've had, this had a pillow-y dough. Not simply under cooked...it was lighter than most doughs. Not what I expected. The pie had a nice tart apple which was less sweet than most I've had. The crust was more crisp than the cobbler, but still not as crisp as I prefer. The bottom got a little soggy. So, good flavor, but just the dough part isn't my preference. The coffee had a really rich, delicious flavor. Unfortunately, the temp it was served at was simply too hot to drink right away. Four hours later and my palate is still tingly from that first sip. This place is a nice addition to the downtown Plainfield area. The flavors are really good. I would just prefer a few tweaks on how done the crusts are and the coffee temp. This place has amazing desserts. Literally every single thing they make is delicious. My favorites are their cobblers... brownies... and oatmeal scotchie cookies. The menu is always changing but they have some staple items. The hours are somewhat problematic. I understand that they personally make every single item, but they are open only three days a week, and they close when they sell out... So there hours are essentially Thursday-Saturday, 10 am to maaaaaaybe noon. That said, the treats are worth the effort when you can make it in... and they are genuinely lovely people. I have been trying to come here forever but they are always sold out or close to selling out. This is a good 20-25 minute drive from me so it is always disappointing. You cannot preorder online either. Today I took my lunch and thought I will make it there before they opened at noon. Well I did but there was already a line and I had to decide if I was going to be late getting back from lunch so that is what I decided. I spent $42 in 14 cupcakes. They were all really cute and decorated. I did however feel the $42 was a bit expensive for $14 cupcakes. There were several delicious flavors. The staff was super polite and the shop is adorable. I wanted to love them, but sadly some brief communication left a lot to be desired. I reached out via their Facebook page to try to arrange a work treat/ surprise. I wanted to pay them for a brief stop at my office and let everybody come out for a treat. I even said that they could piggy back my visit on a day they already plan to be in the area. Their response was that this wasn't something they get the truck out for. The more time that passes, the more I find myself annoyed by this response. Especially considering I said I would wait for a day that they already had the truck out. They did offer to take private orders for pick up, but that negates the "fun" of my plan. ETA: A very kind owner reached out to me regarding my review. I appreciate that attention to customer care, but it doesn't change my rating (which you'll notice is actually not bad, but average). I asked for a cost for their service and they simply said "no." My assumption is that they thought it would be more than I was willing to pay, but that decision is up to me. We can just chalk this up to poor communication and a learning experience. Additionally, Yelper Tim G has some salty comments to make to me today about this review. I certainly hope he's not affiliated with the business. That would make me sad. read more

I'm thrilled to support a women -owned business- especially a queer owned company. Their store is small and they sell out - that's because everything they sell is amazing. The cupcakes are literally the best cupcakes I have ever had. My son loves the bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough. You won't be disappointed- unless you arrive too late in the day. With treats like sticky buns, muffins, cupcakes, cookies, strawberry shortcake, and even biscuits and gravy at the 2016 Indianapolis 500, these two ladies are crashing onto the food truck scene. I could write a really long love letter to this bakery. My fiancé and I had been wanting to taste test a couple items before deciding what to order for our reception. After watching the Facebook page for a while; it appeared this business would close early often due to selling out, which is a great sign!! We got the strawberry cheesecake and had to fight each other for the last bite. The Oreo cupcake was amazing as well. The shop itself was so cute and accessible, I did appreciate the pride flag in the window. Overall great location and kind staff. These ladies worked up cookie trays for me for a local nursing home during the Covid crisis. 1- they were gorgeous cookies, 2- they threw in a free tray 3- they smelled amazing and the staff absolutely loved them. She bought a mix of different cookies (chocolate chip, peanut butter and sugar) and I got strawberry shortcake and peach cobbler. I really liked the peach cobbler and the strawberry shortcake was just ok for me. Decided to go back and try a couple different items. This time around, I got a cinnamon roll and a slice of cherry pie, both were FANTASTIC!! The only downfall to this place is that there are no places to sit.
