I searched online from my location with a dream of finding a bakery to make my daughter a custom cake and deliver it to her on her birthday. A week ago I spoke with this awesome establishment over the phone with all of my questions, ideas and requests and the pleasant lady on the phone assured me that all of my requests were possible and suggested I get started on their online ordering system and while on the phone she had already sent me a link to get started. The online process was easy and detailed they kept in contact with me via email throughout that very day as I communicated my flavors and photos I had taken from my phone...yes they put all the photos I took on the cake and they are edible too! She even contacted me asking for more photos this was going to be very special for sure which they also delivered the beautiful cake to my daughter for me...it made my day my heart my dream and my daughters birthday come alive even though I couldn't be there myself! Sweet Escapes Cake Company made the entire process seem-less with there attention to detail and organization of the whole event in fact I feel like I made friends with the business they most certainly have a customer for life! I highly recommend this business for any of your events they will make it happen the way you dreamed! Extremely well priced and more than well done I can't wait to visit them when I come visit my daughter this year! Honestly, the employees were not very friendly. I don't care that much about that in this instance because the baked goods made up for their demeanor. The brownie was nice and chewy. Very soft and even though it's super dark, it's not bitter and the salt flakes make it the perfectly balanced sweet and salty combo. Bread was insanely good. I got a half loaf of semolina and the spices on the outside are adjacent to Side Door Bagel's everything bagel seasoning. It's perfect and I wish I lived in Fountain Square so I could get a loaf whenever I need it. Haha. I enjoyed stopping in here and will be back.

However, I do believe in cake, cupcakes, cookies, and other baked goods as an entree so I was super good to go. There are multiple display cases with a wide variety of items. They seem to specialize in cakes, though I suppose I should call them Kakes, and they've got the awards to show for it. I opted for a couple of chocolate fudge cupcakes. They have both small and large. I opted for large because, well, they're cupcakes. My bill was, I believe, $7 and change. Great cupcakes at a fair price. These aren't quite the behemoth decadent things some "chains" tend to go for. These are real cupcakes at a real price (the small ones, if I remember right, were $1.50 - and definitely not more than $1.75. Amazing. The bakery is clean but simple. There's a handful of tables so you can enjoy your item in-house. I saw one cooler that seemed to have some drink items. Basically, this is a bakery. This is an awesome bakery. They do have some gluten-free options. I did not see doughnuts, and I don't see doughnuts on their website. So, do not go there for donuts. (That was my attempt at humor. I failed). Really, I was super pleased here. The ambience is super casual, but let that go - the baked goods are worth it. I'd definitely give Kim's Kakery a visit.

Yes, these are quite a bit pricer that's for sure. People were buying one of everything in line. I was like wow! Some Items the combinations of flavors didn't appeal to me. I love tiramisu and pecan pie so I got them both. One suggestion I would have is to have utensils and napkins at the table for people to use. The pastries I bought are really temperature sensitive and need to be kept cold. Both had a cream - mousse inside. They wouldn't last long only a day or to the next. I loved the pecan item I ordered. It was great! The tiramisu one I wouldn't order again. The bottom flakey part was so bitter. I love coffee and expresso and tiramisu.
