We were across the United States and was hosting celebrations for our daughter in Indiana. Looking for a bakery was not easy. But we found Kim's kakery and were able to describe through email and phone calls the cakes we needed, and what we wanted it to look like weeks ahead. When we got to the Airbnb, the owner even delivered our cakes. The cakes were more than we could even imagine! See the photos!

Love the sugar cookies design.

I've been going here for 6 years! It's absolutely my favorite bakery in town. If you're on the south side, this is the place to go. What you need to get: - chocolate frosted brownies. Wow, they are soooo rich. The frosting is delightfully sugary and the brownie is nice and chewy. - almond cupcakes - I used to be like "almond?!" But this is the same cake flavor that most wedding cakes have. The frosting is sooo good, I love it. I honestly prefer this to Flying Cupcake. They have other good cupcakes as well - the sugar frosted cookies. The shapes and designs rotate based on season (Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc). The frosting isn't royal icing but more of a buttercream think. They offer a lot - coffee, sandwiches, cakes, truffles, pastries, and more!! There's some seating if you want to eat there and for cake tasting. I've only gotten a cake once but it was very good. They have some unique designs that always tempt me, but alas, I never have an event that requires a whole cake. They used to only take cash for orders under $10 but since the pandemic will accept credit cards - which in a way is bad for me, because now it is easier to visit! :)

We got our wedding cake from Kim's Kakery and we were extremely pleased with the experience and results. They were so helpful every step along the way - including generous tastings, flavor pairing suggestions, and last minute additions to accommodate a cake stand and us now getting our flowers in time. It was the best tasting cake I've ever had at a wedding, and it looked absolutely fantastic. We recommend Kim's Kakery to anyone for their wedding without any hesitation! Thank you for helping make our wedding so incredible and making the cake portion of planning so stress free!

I cannot say enough good things about Kim's Kakery! I'll tell the story of how we became fans. A friend from the south side would only order birthday cakes from here. We always loved them. Said friend was getting married- but the wedding was postponed due to COVID so we had a small get together to celebrate the day. I ordered a cake from somewhere else and it was a disaster. That word doesn't even adequately describe how awful the cake looked. So I stopped in Kim's in a panic. They created a cake in MINUTES while I waited in the car that was exactly as I had envisioned it. And of course it was delicious. From then on we've ordered multiple birthday cakes, cupcakes and other items. I've never once been concerned that I wouldn't like the look or taste of what they create. For us the almond cake is the go-to and all of our party guests have always complimented it!

Update : After their response to my initial review I finally was able to speak directly to Kim's and successfully brought my order to their mind. I was instructed to wait for a call from Larry. After approximately three weeks I received a phone call but not from Larry. The call was to again, identify and confirm my correct order against the order I received. I was again told to wait for a call back from Larry. It's been approximately another three weeks. I am still patiently waiting. I know this establishment is highly rated and receives plenty of accolades, and like she said, they rarely make mistakes. However, two costly mistakes were made with my order and I just want this rectified as soon as possible.

I had called almost every bakery trying to find someone to make me a cake for my moms bday. I had resorted to making the cake myself. So my friend send me a photo of a Tiger King cake that Kim's Kakery made. I see they are open and give them a call to see if they can make a cake. The lady was so nice. She not only could make the cake she asked what I wanted and what filling. I got there at 2. The cake was done, I even bough 2 dozen mini cupcakes. And the pretzel club sandwich. The pretzel club sandwich was amazing. Honestly the bread was soft and delicious. I recommend on cupcakes Key Lime and the Almond. The white cake w fudge filling was amazing. You do not need a huge piece because it is rich but so good. I would love to have this on the west side but it is worth the drive to the South side.

My review is for a walk in purchase of pastries. I haven't ordered a cake or tried lunch yet. Wow! Even after lunch there was a wide range of pastries available. Many of them had a seasonal appeal that was artistically done. After pulling into their private lot, I had to enter the door on the lot side, not the one closest to the road. Once in, I saw a row of tables for diners to enjoy selections from their lunch menu. Straight ahead was the order counter with three full cases of pastries. The first was filled with donuts and breakfast type goodies. The other two had cupcakes, cake pops, and small cakes that were colorful. I noticed they also make a variety of coffee items as well from a list posted on a blackboard. I ended up selecting a snowman and a Christmas tree cake pops, two varieties of cupcakes (a snickerdoodle flavor and a cookies 'n cream, both with a nice cake to icing ratio), some salt & sweet party mix, and a large crispy breakfast cinnamon disk. Everything looked and tasted terrific! I can't wait to go back and try one of their sandwiches on a croissant! Review #3430

The online ordering process was simple and straightforward, and I was able to provide detailed instructions along with reference images. The cake turned out absolutely amazing. It was chocolate and vanilla with no filling, and everything came together beautifully. The final result looked incredible, and it tasted just as good as it looked. For a fully custom cake of this size and detail, it was also very affordable, which was a pleasant surprise. Pickup was smooth and stress-free. The service was excellent the two cashiers were friendly, and we only waited a few seconds while they grabbed the cake, showed it to us, and boxed it up securely for transport. While we were there, we also tried a few of the goodies in the shop, and those were amazing as well. Huge shout-out to the baker who made this cake, she absolutely slayed it. I would highly recommend them for custom cakes and special occasions.

We had a pickup on Saturday and it was SO busy (seems everyone knows how delicious their stuff is!), but even in the chaos of a busy shop, all the employees were friendly and efficient. Our gluten free confetti cake pops were SO pretty and tasty, they were a big hit at our party. We picked up a few cupcakes (almond, YUM) and fancy decorated cookies too out of the case. Sometimes, I find I don't care for the taste of the fancy decorated cookies at most places, but these were not only beautiful, they were really good! Highly recommend for a special occasion, or heck just to pick up a sweet treat out of the case.

I sent them some pictures of some cakes that I wanted for my daughters birthday and they replied right back with the cost for each one. They are very responsive and professional. Other business that I were shopping around were not so responsive. Of course you can get a cheaper cake at places like Walmart, But their cakes are worth the price. They are located in a little dinky area but don't let that deter you! Our wedding cake, grooms cake, and the 150+ cake bites (a must have!) we ordered were phenomenal! I wasn't sure how things would turn out but they blew my expectations out of the water. And everything was so delicious, my guests are still raving about it. The only negatives throughout the whole process came in the communication. I think since they are fairly small it's hard to be in constant communication. But everything worked out for the best and we are so happy we chose them!

They have a baked goods case that was interesting - your avg coffee shop item like croissants and then some Asian cuisine items. They are very friendly. Right now they don't have WiFi but should by next week. I got a plain coffee and it was solid. I added creamer to it since it was a dark roast and I am a baby that only loves light roast Still it was a better dark roast than most. They almost brought the water and then the coffee to my table which is nice. I also love that they are open later than most locally owned coffee shops around here (until 6pm). I'd recommend that folks go! Give them some grace the first few weeks as they get up and running (ex: the WiFi issue just use your phone hotspot if that's an option for now).

Yes, these are quite a bit pricer that's for sure. People were buying one of everything in line. I was like wow! Some Items the combinations of flavors didn't appeal to me. I love tiramisu and pecan pie so I got them both. One suggestion I would have is to have utensils and napkins at the table for people to use. The pastries I bought are really temperature sensitive and need to be kept cold. Both had a cream - mousse inside. They wouldn't last long only a day or to the next. I loved the pecan item I ordered. It was great! The tiramisu one I wouldn't order again. The bottom flakey part was so bitter. I love coffee and expresso and tiramisu. But, the whole thing just wasn't what I thought it would taste like. Now I know. :-( Creamy, sweet, smooth, with a kick of coffee all come together to make a great tiramisu. This is what most people love about it. I don't know if they are planning on opening a store or not. The pop ups are doing well it seems. I will try other items whenever I can get to one of the pop ups.

What went from ordering 1 pastry each turned into 8 total.. and we regret nothing. The Tiramisu Danish was exactly as I had hoped for! The bitter taste of espresso paired with the sweet mascarpone cream filling reminded me of the holidays when I would watch my mom make tiramisu for our family. While a lot of people prefer a sweeter espresso, I thought this was perfect and very true to a traditional tiramisu taste The Pear Kouglof reminded me of a fresh yeast donut that's been tossed in sugar This was a very kid-friendly pastry in taste and while I wasn't too blown away by it, it did make me wonder if I would have preferred it with a stronger, more potent, fruit. The Cherry Basque Cheesecake -- this pastry was the house favorite. The texture of this cheesecake was creamy, but somehow still spongey.. cakey, but more like pudding. Mix that with the juiciest sour cherries and the crunch of a biscoff crust.. mind blown was an understatement. We're looking forward to what Beurre Sec has planned for their next pop-up
