I came here for the first time - and currently they have a special where first time visitors get a free cupcake! The good things first: the chocolate chip cookie was huge and SO SOFT IT JUST FALLS APART IN YOUR MOUTH. I LOVED IT! It was only $1.50 so great deal for a bakery cookie. The cupcakes are maybe a different story. I was told vanilla and almond were the top sellers but chocolate is my fav. It just wasn't that great. Cupcake was a bit dry by the time I ate it at the end of the day and the frosting is supposed to be a lift buttercream but I just didn't care for it very much. I will have to return to try other items. I see a lot of bad reviews for ordering cakes but I will say: COOKIES ARE AWESOME!! read more

Found this bakery through Facebook because Chanda the owner had a deal where if you came in during a certain day and planned your catering and cake she would cut the price in half. Thought it was a great deal and decided to check it out. Ended up going to the business and had a great first experience, decided to go again and make our plans for what we would eat. She made a few samples and they were delicious. We decided to go for the deal and ended up spending $2200 for cake and food for 150 people. Cut to 10pm the night before the wedding. Chanda says she will be running late and won't be there till after the ceremony. Ceremony was at 4, she arrived at 5:30. Guests were wondering if there was even going to be food and when she did arrive try he food was cold and rubbery. Wasn't even enough food for 150 because I had 100 show and only had extra for 5 plates. What a ripoff. When I pay for a deal that's half price I still expect the full price service. You're telling me I received service worth $4400?! I had several engaged couples at the wedding that were anticipating a good service so they would use her for their wedding but that's out the window now. Now comes the fun part. After the wedding was over my wife and I found out she blocked us on Facebook. My wife ended up making a post in that Facebook group where we initially discovered her and she unblocked us and had the gall to post a touched up photo to brighten the rock candy and make it not look like the dull cake it is. My experience with Whisk (which is sometimes called Laura's Bakery) was not a great one. Firstly their website is down and I could not find a better way to reach them than to complete this review. I believe this shop may have changed ownership and my experience very recently is reflective of whoever owns the bakery now. Disappointed is the word I will use to describe my experience. Because the website was down I had to send information through Facebook Messenger. However the staff was quick to respond and I called in to give final details. I ordered a round cake with some fondant designs and a smash cake for the price of $80 total. I sent 4 inspiration photos and asked them to create something similar. What I received was not a professional level cake. Unfortunately the fondant figures they had sculpted looked like they had been made from Play-Doh and looked sloppy. The woman who rung me up asked me if it looked okay, but at that point the party was going to start soon and I didn't have faith that they had any time to make the cake look better. They used droopy buttercream instead of fondant which was on every inspiration photo I sent. I was very disappointed and actually sort of embarrassed to present the cake at the party I was hosting. I don't say this lightly when I say I could have made this cake on my own and had it turn out about the same and I am no baker. I was expecting a lot better than what I got and I do not believe the pictures on their Facebook page represent what they can truly do now. Here is what I expected: If they couldn't make a cake similar to the ones I sent I wish they would have let me know. I wish someone would have said that they could not sculpt with fondant. Instead I think they did their best which unfortunately was not up to the level I was expecting. Disappointed and embarrassed are the words that describe my experience here. Go somewhere else!!!!Beyond disappointed with my experience with Whisk Bakery. I sent several photos to Chanda asking if the designs were something she could recreate. She said, "absolutely". Well, when the cake was delivered, it had the appearance of a cake off of the TV show "NAILED IT". Sloppy and poor detailed work pretty much sums up the cake. I will say this though, she was able to accommodate the dietary restrictions that I requested and the cake did taste good. I just ordered with Whisk Bakery for the first time this September and I'm going to continue to use them for all future cakes! I had a vision for Winnie the Pooh smash cakes and a two tier cake for my daughter's first birthday. Chanda was so helpful throughout my questions, allowed me to change my order a few times since I booked so early, and delivered to my house twice! I ordered two identical smash cakes, one for a first birthday photo day, and one for her party. Along with, a two tiered cake for the party. Chanda was nice enough to deliver both times and the cakes were not only phenomenal looking, but tasted AMAZING! The icing was the perfect mix of fluffy, and not too sweet! read more

The only vendor at my wedding that was perfect! We searched all over for someone to create my vision and still taste good. Whisk was perfect. I did not want the nasty fondant icing I wasn't something actually edible without having cupcakes. My guests LOVED the cake and the macaroons. There were no macaroons left at all! As for the cake. what was left went like hotcakes at the next day brunch! AND the best part is they were cheaper than the other gross cake places nearby! Total win. This is the second time we've ordered a birthday cake from Whisk (also known as Laura's Bakery). Last year we caked the afternoon before and this year I was able to order 2 days in advance (other bakeries require 3 days notice). Both of the cakes were excellently decorated...we couldn't have been happier with their design! This year's cake was a green and purple monster theme to go asking with Halloween. They put a strawberry muffin on top and gave it eyes and a bunch of fun purple hair. All our guests thought it looked amazing! We got a lot of cake for a good price. The cake was red velvet and although the taste was great, the only downside was that it was a bit dry just like last year. I wish they would figure out how to make their cakes more moist. read more

I order my wedding cake from here, yes it was the one that we wanted and it got on time and it was set up. Right next day we headed to our honeymoon for 9 days when we came back I went to give back the base of the cake and was expecting my deposit to be refunded as well but no. They said the base was suppose to be return 4 days after the wedding no one absolutely no one told me this I went twice to the bakery and no one mentioned this, yes is in the contract in tiny letters I explain them that no one ever mention it and that we were just arriving they didn't care about it. What a great experience. I first learned of Whisk on a Facebook site. I connected with the proprietor and we spoke about her different vegan and gluten free options, to which there are many to choose from. I made a special order for pick up on Father's Day. Chanda the owner made a mixed dozen vegan cupcakes for us. A day or so before, I asked if she could make us a mixed dozen regular cupcakes as well. Without hesitation, Chanda days that it would not be a problem to add to our order. We picked up our cupcakes about an hour before closing on Father's Day. The regular cupcakes went to a Father's Day outing and the vegan cupcakes remained at home. Everyone who had the regular cupcakes raved about how tasty and moist they were. That evening, my wife and I tried the vegan cupcakes. We were both stunned at how delicious the cake itself was, but how great the icings were on each of them. We had, chocolate, vanilla, almond, lemon, and red velvet. Each were beautiful and taste great. The fact that you could not tell you were eating a vegan cupcake was astonishing. The icing flavors were perfect, and oh so smooth. We can not wait to try some of the other flavors of vegan free options that are available. We will most definitely be heading back to Whisk for all of our bakery needs. read more

We used Whisk Bakery for our wedding cake, and it was fantastic! We needed a vegan cake for our all-vegan wedding, and it tasted delicious and was moist and perfect! We had 3 flavors in our four tier cake, and they were all great. We got tons of compliments! We originally booked a different baker, who ended up merging with another business that would no longer provide what we originally wanted. The new baker's cake was just not good, and taste is most important to us. We were panicking two months out from the wedding, but instantly felt confident when we reached out to Chanda and she responded almost immediately saying that they could make our cake. The price was lower than our original baker too, which was a nice treat! We rented a cake stand from them too, and when we took it back the week after the wedding, they gave us a $10 coupon to use in the future. We are going to use it to get a birthday treat in the one cake flavor we weren't able to eat at the wedding! The design was beautiful too. Overall, we were really happy with the cake and the service and would definitely recommend them! read more

We used Whisk for our wedding cake. We initially were going to go with a 3-tier cake including cupcakes, but we ended up having way less guests RSVP so we wanted to get a smaller cake so we would not have a ton of leftovers. The day we were supposed to do our tasting the Owner didn't even tell us they had moved locations until we showed up at their old location and they were no longer there. When we finally found their new location it was a house that was very dirty and we saw no professional baking equipment anywhere. The owner also had the complete wrong wedding, she thought we were doing a Harry Potter themed wedding which we were not. The phone number they have as their business number no one answers and they have a different number you are supposed to call or text, which I did and received no response. The design we asked for was supposed to be foundant and not once did she tell me it would not be. The colors were supposed to navy, blush and silver and there was NO silver anywhere on the cake. I asked for pictures of the cake three times before my parents picked it up and was completely ignored. When I messaged both the personal FB account and the business account about my cake my designs were read and completely ignored. Only when I posted a negative review did I get a response. The owner does not have an active FB account and has turned off all reviews on their business page. She tried blaming my parents and the transportation of the cake for the messed up design. Also said that nothing is guaranteed unless they personally transport it. I WOULD NOT recommend them to anyone. read more

I would love to tell everyone that my wedding food was utterly amazing but I cannot because my guests DEVOURED it all before I could get any of it! True story. Whisk catered my wedding on September 10th, 2017. They provided 30lbs of hot meat items, a mashed potato bar, a groom's cake, a three tier wedding cake, and 50 cupcakes. First things first, people will not stop raving about the mashed potato bar. Not only did it come with a huge pan of mashed potatoes but also included was gravy, cheese, chives, and bacon. The only issue came in the form of gravy leaked down the bride's leg. But I wasn't wearing a white dress yet so no harm, no foul! The pulled pork and taco meat looked amazing and so moist. I've heard as such from the guests that actually got to consume it. We really did end up with a great amount. Everyone seemed to get what they wanted AND we didn't have to deal with leftovers at the end of the night. Onto the sweets, I got the single bite of cake from our cake cutting and I was reminded again 1) how amazing almond cake is & 2) how delicious Whisk's frosting is even though I've never been a fan of frosting. She let us know that she did not use powdered sugar in her recipe and I fell in love all over again! The groom's cake was vanilla and peanut butter and frosted to look like a pokeball! The best compliment I can offer about it is from my mother-in-law. She does not eat eggs or dairy, both of which were assumedly in this cake. She said that she had a small piece just to be in the spirit of the wedding... and then returned for a larger piece because it was that good. Another thing about the cake? It was a total surprise for my groom that Laura allowed me to add over the phone because I had trouble getting into the shop to add to the order. They rolled with all the changes I made because they are just such sweet people. And finally, those cupcakes. I did get a chocolate cupcake around ten at night. The chocolate ganache in the middle was amazing! Highly recommend. And I got gorgeous flower recommendations for them which made my garden party themed dessert table additionally beautiful. These guys did amazing. I still have people raving about the food they provided and I really hope to do business with them in the future! read more

What a complete disaster! I ordered a 50th wedding anniversary cake for my parents and upon picking up the cake it was nothing like what I ordered. Although I picked out the three tiered cake from their displays (it was not even a custom designed cake) they still did make make the cake according to the display OR follow their own written instructions on the order sheet! When I arrived and saw the cake I was in complete shock! When I asked for an explanation she stated that it was all up to "interpretation" even though the instructions were very clear. I had asked for a wide satin widen with a large broach. I got a narrow scrawny ribbon with a gold button. She stated that when they went to buy the ribbon it was too yellow so they bought the scrawny gold ribbon instead. When asked why they didn't call me to discuss alternatives I was given no explanation. One of the tiers was left completely plain although it was supposed to have a wide gold rhinestone band around it. It looked horrible!!! Then to make it worse...when I ordered the cake I explained that I needed to travel close to 2 hours so I needed them to make sure it was boxed well. When I arrived the cake was on a board (no box at all) and they stated they did not have a box for this cake. My husband asked them to remove some napkins from a larger four sided box and put the cake in that in order for us to safely travel with it. I will NEVER return there again and I do not recommend anyone to trust their service. read more

WAS my favorite bakery. No more. Ordered a cake for a july birthdays bbq. $65, Paid in full in advance. Wasnt picky about the decoration, light neutral colors, i remember having the conversation because i mentioned there being kids and not wanting bright colors staining their clothes or my furniture and no red. So i pick my cake up today. The writing is in RED, the cake is entirely in white with no decoration at all other than sprinkles on the edge. I had to wait while they "fixed" a bad place in the icing, which turned out to be 2 bad places that still looked bad. The cake was in a flimsy oversized box. I wasnt happy, the woman had an attitude and wanted to argue that all she had written down was neutral colors and had no intention of fixing it. (I wouldve been happy just scraping off the red and rewriting in another color) So i take my horrible cake which then slides around in the 6 or 8 inches each direction of the flimsy oversized box on the way home, wrecking its corners and side icing. Last dime they will EVER see from me. I wish i could post pictures on here. You would never believe this came from a professional bakery. read more

We ordered a wedding cake and grooms cake from here....BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! We originally ordered from this bakery when it was Laura's bakery and about 1 month later it was sold to the current owner. They told us they would honor our contract with the old company as we had already put our deposit down. Our original 4 tiered cake was custom designed by the previous owner to be smooth white frosting with hand painted gum paste coral and tiffany blue flowers cascading down one corner of the cake. The cake was $600. The grooms cake was $75 for a replica of my son- in- laws Marine hat with fondant and a fondant engagement ring that depicted 1 of their engagement pictures. The fondant was HORRIBLE. It looked like a 5 year old had patted the top all over there was so many ripples in it. They forgot the fondant engagement ring. My daughter was supposed to cry tears of joy on her wedding day, not tears because she was embarrassed about the grooms cake!!!!! Next, the beautiful cake we had ordered was nowhere to be found. It was 4 tiers with melting off-white icing and no gum paste flowers but a few artificial pink and baby blue carnations randomly scattered all around. You could see the cake under the icing in several places. I honestly thought it was going to slide over! The cake was very course and NOT good. Several guests commented on how they were not impressed. It was delivered around 230 for a 430 wedding so at that point, there isn't any time to go pick something else like cupcakes up! Lastly, they left nothing for us to pack up the top layer for the cake for their 1 year anniversary or any left over cake. We ended up throwing the entire 12" bottom layer and the entire 6" top piece away. I would have at least donated it to a shelter if we had boxes. Save your money and buy a wedding cake from someone else. I have called and left 2 messages as well as talked to the people who delivered it but no help and no return call as of yet. read more
