Brenda's Cakes and Catering - 60 chocolate and vanilla cupcakes for my wife's 50th birthday. - Bakeries Near Me - Plainfield, Indiana

Since November I've had 3 cakes made by Brenda and I absolutely love every cake she's made! They're beautiful, they taste delicious and stay soft for awhile; unlike others I've have before. I've sent Brenda a picture of a cake I wanted and she's made it EXACTLY how it was in the photo. I've given her an idea of how I wanted a cake and she created it how I pictured, she's just naturally gifted. Brenda's also very punctual, she let's you know how everything works off bat. How payment is taken, what forms of payment she takes (credit and/ or card), when you need to be at the shop to pick up the cake and so on. In the shop she has seasonal cakes, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, her pro-folio of different cakes she's done (and can do) from past vendors and events. The accessories you can add to the cakes etc. read more

I ordered a cake for a colleague's going away party as it was her favorite. I placed an order from their website, sent in a description and pictures of what we wanted on the cake and it turned out pretty as well as delicious! The communication was quick and friendly within a couple of days of responses. We did a half sheet, half white and half chocolate, it was very tasty and had the perfect amount of sweet. Pickup was quick, although it being right on Rockville Rd with heavy traffic it was a bit tricky but made it out okay from the parking lot as it is a tiny lot. I would definitely order again for my own events! read more

Brenda's Cakes is a small locally owned bakery on Rockville Road next door to Jay Orner's Billiards Store. I chose Brenda's for my wedding cake a few years again after countless people kept mentioning her name when weddings came up. Her cakes are delicious and several people at our wedding asked for the bakery name. Many noted her cakes are comparable to Classic Cakes in Carmel. Since then several friends have used Brenda's and all were incredibly pleased. Her prices are reasonable, the cakes are beautiful, she delivers and most important is prompt. She also offers cakes and cupcakes for any occasion. Beginning this week, they are making Edible Fruit Arrangements. I can't wait to try these. As with any bakery, I recommend taking photos of designs you love, which I did, and she duplicated the design perfectly. I've posted a few of the displays currently in her shop today. Check her out for a taste sampling. read more

I got my son's first birthday cake done here and I was very impressed. I walked in about 3 weeks prior to needing the cake and briefly gave the woman at the counter a description of what I wanted. She wrote some stuff down but no sketches or anything. I walked out feeling a little hesitant as to whether or not she understood exactly what I wanted in the cake. When I came back to pick up the cake the day of the party it could not have been more perfect. From the shade of blue to the crown placed on top(it was a prince party) everything was perfect. I was so pleasantly surprised at how good the cake tasted. It was incredibly moist and flavorful. That is hard to find these days, it seems to me the better the cake usually looks the worse it tastes. I will definitely come back to Brenda's. The reason I gave it four stars is that it was a bit on the pricey side. I paid $70 for a six inch cake. read more

Brenda's Cakes and Catering - My son's first birthday cake. She did a beautiful job I was so happy with it. It tasted as good as it looked! - Bakeries Near Me - Plainfield, Indiana

I've gone to Brenda's Cakes for 3 orders. Two have been for my daughter's past two birthdays. The most recent, for my girlfriend's and her best friend's birthday. The cakes have always been delicious and absolutely beautiful. The latest occasion was a short-notice-planning kinda deal, and they were able to construct a wonderful 2-tier decorated cake that was loved by all. The prices very reasonable for such quality. The 2-tier fondant decorated cake - which is much heavier than one might imagine - survived the driving around to its destination without moving a bit. The people there always seem super busy - which is good for them! - and are helpful and nice as hell. They always ask the right amount and types of questions to make sure you get what you expect/hope for, which has also helped me consider ideas and options I'd not thought of! Overall, Brenda's Cakes is aces. Highly recommended, and I will continue to support this great local business! read more

I am a huge fan of cake and Brenda's makes the best decorated cake. While decorated cakes are usually beautiful, I can taste the nasty fondant. This is not the case with Brenda's cakes. My sister orders them for her children's birthdays and I am pretty sure this is the only reason my whole family shows up. She has amazing flavors and they are always beautiful. read more

We order my daughter's wedding cake at Brenda's I gave them a 5 stars for following reasons: - Planning & ordering. Very accessible- we came in the store with no appt( which i'm not recommending) but Brenda herself was still able to sit down & accommodate to take our orders. -Flexibility to customize our order. We received the cake that we wanted & exceeded our expection. Not only on how it looks but how it taste. -Cake taste is SUPERB! You can tell the quality of ingridients and the excellent baking skill as it's presentation & taste. Total difference on store bought cake. No comparison. All worth the penny we spend. We are a very satisfied customer. Highly highly recommend for cake needs. read more

Brenda's Cakes and Catering - Wedding Cake by Brenda's Cake - Bakeries Near Me - Plainfield, Indiana

I've ordered from them before no issues and they had everything ready on time for me... Fast forward to today and I make one last minute phone call before pick up on Saturday. I had ordered two themed cakes for my mom's 80th birthday and was told today that they could make one but they could make the other because they're short staffed and it was too involved and I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with this if it was not one week before the party I told them that this was not acceptable that I have been in constant contact with them and for them to tell me that at this time was not acceptable so she said to hang on she was gonna look at my emails so she gets back on the phone and she says yeah they can make the cake but it'll be $475... Now it's the prerogative to charge what they want but I think and I really do believe this that they jacked up the price so high that I would not have it made which I didn't because I'm totally pissed off at this point. Not very good business practice Brenda you've lost a customer read more

I bought a 10 in round white cake with strawberry filling and butter-creme icing for my in-law's 40th wedding anniversary and it was a hit! Now I am on the hook to get a "Brenda's" cake for all three of my kid's birthdays. I have had her cakes on several other birthday occasions at work and they have never failed to delight! The cakes are very moist and flavorful and look really nice as well. I also feel they are very affordable for the quality you get. Well-done Brenda, well-done! read more

Our office ordered a cake and I was honestly shocked by how cheap & poorly decorated it was. Definitely not a $150 quality cake. It looked like my child could have decorated it. It tasted fine but you can get a better quality cake from Walmart or Sams. Then when we complained to Brenda she didn't try to make it right. Needless to say our office won't be doing business cakes again. read more

I had a baby shower cake made and she was able to duplicate my picture perfectly. The cake tasted delicious, too. The only reason I did not give them five stars is because of their location. It is hard to get to and there really isn't a parking lot. Otherwise, this is hands down the best place to get a cake made! read more

Brenda made the cake for my wedding reception and my daughter's baby shower over fifteen years ago. Last weekend, she made the cake for my daughter's Quinceañera. Brenda has always created phenomenal pieces of art, but this cake went above and beyond. The detail was exquisite, the taste was beyond expectations, and everyone complemented the presentation. Brenda is reasonably priced and takes the time to make sure she gives you a product that exceeds anticipation. Thank you, Brenda, for making our event memorable and beautiful. read more

Brenda's Cakes & Catering was recommended by my daughter, whose company had used her services for catered meals at work events. I needed food for my youngest daughter's wedding & reception and the meal needed to be "milk free". Brenda was the ONLY caterer I spoke with who was willing to accommodate my needs! I've been able to cook milk-free for my daughter for 23 years, why can't anyone else? Brenda did! We had baked chicken, two kinds of potatoes, asparagus, salad, bread, appetizers. This was our third family wedding and, by far, the cake was the BEST TASTING as well as the PRETTIEST we've purchased. We didn't ask her to make the cake milk-free because it is hard to duplicate butter cream icing -- and the guests raved about the taste. Instead of dry, thick layers, hers are moist & thin with layer upon layer of flavored icings. Within our group of family and friends, we've become well acquainted with "wedding food & wedding cake" (all our kids are getting married) and everyone said it was the best they've had. You can TRUST Brenda and her staff with your cake & food for any event! read more

I would not recommend Brenda's cakes. They messed up our wedding cake and offered us an insulting $5 refund for it. It took them weeks to respond to my emails about it. read more

I previously ordered a cake from Brenda's Cakes and was happy with the outcome. When it came time to order another cake, I eagerly set it up with them as well. We met and I chose a cake from their book. The cake looked very sloppy. It was missing details and had cracks, crumbs & flour on it. When we expressed our displeasure with the cake, Brenda herself responded. Keep in mind that I do not complain about things often. She was defensive and argued. She showed no empathy and offered no solution. We asked if there were anything she could do. She after a while rudely said she would give us $25.00 for our messed up over $300.00 cake. There are more rude details, but this explained the majority of it. I will no longer be using this company and do not recommend using them. read more

I am so not pleased with my recent experience there. I have had multiple cakes from Brenda's. They are quite tasty. If you just care about cake- buy the non decorated one. She charges way too much for decorating and isn't all that wonderful. I had high hope for our little daughter's birthday cake and well it fell VERY short. read more

So very very happy with the job Brenda did for our daughter's wedding. Just to start, the food was wonderful. Served warm, but not over cooked. Cake was moist and the frosting was great. Helpful and patient only begin to describe her service. We had dietary issues for four of our guests. She handled it without missing a beat. Everyone one went home happy and healthy. If you have food allergies, you understand not everyone understands what is needed. They did. read more
