Breakfast sandwich and home fries
Lindy V.

Breakfast sandwich was 5 stars. Tasted great, egg was perfectly cooked and bacon was crispy as ordered. Home fries were fine. Didn't knock my socks off, an after taste of some spice that just overpowered things a bit. Service was friendly and it's a cute little place. It's a little loud when filled with people but not too loud to have a conversation. Will be back.

Vanilla coffee w/whipped cream on top

Had such a great brunch at Northside Kitchenette yesterday. We were greeted with smiles and seated within minutes of arriving. I ordered the Kitchenette Sink, and it truly lives up to its name--loaded with a soft buttery biscuit at the bottom, hearty potatoes, bacon crumbles, savory gravy, melted cheese, and fluffy eggs ( I ordered my eggs scrambled but you can have them however you'd like) all in one comforting dish. Every bite was warm and satisfying. And the coffee drink ,vanilla coffee ,topped with whipped cream was the perfect sweet finish. Cozy vibe, great food, great service and definitely a spot worth coming back to!

Pumpkin Coffee

Northside Kitchenette is me and my husband favorite breakfast place on the north side of Indy. Even beats the places in Carmel! The food is so amazing and their pumpkin spice coffee always is so exciting to get during fall time. The service is always top tier here and the atmosphere is so homey and clean. They have the best eggs Benedict I ever have had!

Southwest Chicken Salad
Pamela B.

Northside Kitchenette's Southwest Chicken Salad is one of my favorite salads in Indianapolis. The avocado ranch dressing works perfectly to tie together the salad greens, chicken, corn, black beans, avocado, shredded cheese, and pico de gallo. The crispy tortilla strips provide the perfect crunch. The interior of the restaurant is attractive but I prefer sitting outside under the tented patio when the weather allows. Even though it looks out on a parking lot, I find I am happy sitting there with my ice tea and Southwest Chicken Salad.

On a morning where I wanted to get out early and get the day started, I started the day off with NK. It has been 7 years or so since I've been here and the beauty is, is that I still craved it after all this time. I got in shortly after opening and was greeted by staff that was still getting some tables together for the day but was seating patrons accordingly. I was seated in the back with other families. The store was clean and bright light like an inside picnic. Ironically, the waitress was just as melancholy as the last waiter I had many years ago. However, she was helpful and tried to be personable. She checked on me regularly and accommodated my needs but I did hear the table next to me mention the wait staffs demeanor. The food, however, was still good. I still got the same thing, the kitchenette & it was still good LOL. Except the coffee. I got the iced vanilla coffee and it was superrr sweet, not tasting any coffee. They were serving pancakes w/ blueberry compote, which they normally don't, but I didn't want to try something new. I'm glad I tried them again, go try them for yourself!

This was my first time here for brunch. Overall the place is super cute, was well staffed and the food was pretty good! The food came out pretty fast and we were seated almost immediately. Will definitely have to come back!

Lemon berry cheesecake

This place was amazing. We went for brunch this past weekend. The food was to die for. Delicious omelets, well seasoned home fries and perfect raspberry mimosas. I topped my brunch off with their lemon berry cheesecake and it was the perfect addition. The service was very friendly and prompt and the ambiance was cute, quaint and homey. Definitely check this spot out for a nice brunch at a good price in Indianapolis!

Kitchen"ette" Sink

Northside Kitchenette is brought to you by the same owners of Delicia and Northside Social, two Broad Ripple staples! Like its sister restaurants, Northside Kitchenette feels high-end but approachable, with locally sourced ingredients and a well developed menu. I especially love their outdoor patio seating in the summer, complete with shaded spots and sunny spots to fit whatever you're looking for. I tried the Morning Kicker Omelette, which was delicious and generously portioned, but I subbed the horseradish sour cream for a normal side of sour cream due to taste preferences. The potatoes were perfectly crispy and seasoned without being overly complicated. Others at the table ordered the Brioche French Toast and Kitchen"ette" Sink and everyone seemed to enjoy their respective meals! They do have a lunch menu with sandwiches and salads alongside the all-day brunch options if that fits your tastes better. Overall, I feel that their menu is priced slightly high for the type of food, but it also stands out in quality from nearby competitors so I will absolutely return based on my positive dining experiences.

Loved the staff. The place was cute. And oh man was my turkey basil sandwich delicious!

Friendly service, tasty food, and pleasantly decorated. Try the cinnamon roll and take a walk on the Monon Trail afterwards!

Biscuits and gravy, hash browns

We went to northside kitchenette for breakfast and it did not disappoint! I ordered the full order of biscuits and gravy and the hubs ordered the cheesy omelette. Service was great and love the inside especially the sunroom area. Only thing is we felt the prices were a little steep. $17 for an omelette seems steep.

Delicious avo toast and tomato bisque

Lovely brunch with my bff on her birthday weekend. We sat outside on a cool day. I loved the Cabanas service & patio although the parking lot is very crowded & close. The food was absolutely 5 stars. The service was excellent. I'll be back!!

Build your own

I'm going to start off by saying I should've ordered the dark chocolate bread pudding! I know this would've increased my rating! It looked so good, but it didn't really go well with my breakfast, or so I thought! Regrets... Well, this place is super cute inside. Bar seating, indoor/outdoor seating, 2, 4 and 6 top tables. No more than 20 tables in the whole place. The mimosas are delicious, and I recommend the mango. I ordered the build your own omelet, which allows for only 4 ingredients before costing you $. It was basic and nothing special. My partner ordered a biscuit and gravy meal that he'd order again. Add a cinnamon roll if you can start off with this. It seems to be made from biscuit dough and made hot n fresh with frosting.

I will cut some slack on the service, however - I arrives after what seems to have been a very atypical rush of Journey fans who inundated the place before heading to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The staff seemed a bit rundown and slap happy - not really attentive to the bar where I sat. I waited a bit long before I was greeted with a menu, waited awhile with an empty glass, waited with my food pushed away before it was cleared. No one asked if everything was okay even though most of my food was untouched. The food... my salad (house greens) was a great little salad! I say this despite finding a hair on the plate when I was about 2/3 through. My mussels and fries were not great. The fries were mid - they tasted kind of overdone or as if the oil were old. The mussels were actively bad. The portion (an app) was pretty small. There was hardly any broth/wine and they weren't piping hot. Also, they were actually not tasty and the texture was rubbery. They remained in front of me, uncleared, even after I closed my tab. They did not smell good. I don't anticipate being sick but I do anticipate being hungry.

We arrived to the restaurant around ten minutes prior to our reservation, and quickly sat. We walk to a table- a booth that normally houses two tables pushed together, with around two inches between tables. We were practically sitting on top of the other two individuals sitting at the table. Forgot conversation- we heard everything they said, they heard everything we said, might as well have been on a double date. They weren't short of two top tables either- there were at least two, two top tables that sat empty our entire dining experience. Our server was on it throughout the night. The food was good to okay. We started with bread service. One piece of my bread was cold, and the other was warm. The honey miso butter was maybe a highlight of the whole meal. I started with a kale Caesar salad. Nice crunch to it, and an appropriate amount of dressing. My wife and I split two meals. The first- Coq Au Vin Pot pie. The meat was flavorful- but man, there is a lot of pastry when compared to meat. We got the braised short ribs. I wouldn't call the short ribs, short ribs- it was more of like a pot roast taste and consistency. There was a decent flavor, but nothing overtly amazing. Our cocktails were strong, but nothing to write home about. Overall, wouldn't be my first stop for a restaurant downtown, but if I was invited by someone else, I would most likely try it again.

We were greeted right away and looked over the menu a bit before ordering. My husband ordered the country breakfast with chicken (definitely the way to go) and I ordered the cheesy jalapeño grits with bacon. We each got a cup for water and I ordered a coffee, excited because I saw ahead of going that it was self-serve (like at Cafe Patachou where I can get as many coffees as I like without having to wait for our server to come check on us first). However, the self serve coffee excitement was short-lived after seeing that they only offered half and half as creamer (I'm lactose intolerant) and the two coffee carafes were not labeled for what was inside (decaf? medium roast? you'll never know!) and then one was completely empty and never refilled during our visit. The water station also was not ever refilled during our visit, so we were not able to get refills after filling up our cups the first time. It took a couple of tries to find a table we could sit at because you seat yourself, but several had not been cleaned after other guests left and had food and drinks spilled on them. There were definitely enough staff members there to be able to clean them in between customers, so we weren't sure why they were left that way. We ended up sitting in the middle of the room towards the front, across from the clown art wall, which made for interesting conversation as we looked through everything. When the food came out I was impressed with the portions, but I had no flavor whatsoever to my cheesy jalepeno grits. The egg and bacon were good, but not enough to make it a good dish and I would not order it again. And I love savory breakfast and grits in general, so it was a real bummer. My husband's dish was worth the visit though. It was a huge portion size and we honestly would just split it if we came back and ordered it. It was so savory, seasoned perfectly, and juicy. One of the best breakfast dishes I have tried recently! I really debated between 3-4 stars for this, but my dish was a flop, the lack of cleanliness for the seating area, the lackluster self-serve coffee station, and not refilling the beverages ultimately scored a 3 star review for me. I would come back and try something else though, or split the country chicken breakfast because it was really good. Hopefully next time the beverages won't be empty!
