The food here is really good, but unfortunately the service was a big disappointment. We visited a few days ago and at the beginning everything seemed great, the welcome and initial attention were really nice, However, after we placed our order, the experience changed drastically. We had to ask multiple times (3 times) for a coffee refill and waited about 15 minutes, only for the pot to be left at the table so we could serve ourselves. That would be fine if that's the expected service style, but there was no communication or check-ins to see if we needed anything else. The coffee pot was also almost empty, so we couldn't even serve all three of us properly. .... Another issue was that napkins were placed directly on a wet spot on the table, which made them unusable. The food quality very good, but the service experience was too off, and I think when dining out, service matters just as much as food, and this part definitely needs improvement. read more

Having a quick breakfast after checking out of the hotel and before getting on the road, this spot was an ideal choice. The space seems it was made for a quick in and out breakfast or a sit down brunch with work friends. Service was quick and to the point. There weren't a lot of people there at 11:30am/12pm on a Wednesday but it picked up once we were finished. We ordered biscuits and gravy, breakfast tacos, blueberry pancakes, and Belgian waffles. Our biscuits and gravy were not great. The gravy was nearly tasteless, but the biscuits were fluffy. As for the breakfast tacos, average. Wouldn't order them again but sufficed. I received a BOGO offer for signing up for their marketing emails and took my mom for a brunch downtown. It was very, very busy and close parking was a challenge, but now I can see why. The food was great! We both really enjoyed our meals and I have no complaints about the service. The menu had a pretty good variety and I appreciated the southern style options, especially. Our first time at this location and it was very good as usual. We had to wait about 10 minutes-which was awesome because we tried another place and it was one hour long wait. Service was friendly and food was good. We tried the holiday menu. Husband ordered the steak and eggs hash and it was delicious! I ordered the double crunch breakfast tacos, I felt the tacos ok. First Watch has been one of my "go to" weekday breakfast/brunch spots with friends that has been consistently good. I especially love their fresh pressed juices and their staff is always so sweet in allowing me a sample to try their new juice offerings before committing. I haven't quite ventured into their lunch offerings so I can't say much, but nearly all their breakfast offerings are bomb. Their portions are quite generous, usually what my friends and I like to do is to family style our dishes where we will split a savory and sweet to share. Without fail, their hash options are always solid. Seating is never too busy and I always end up in a booth, which is what I prefer. I also never feel rushed to leave the spot, which is always nice when it becomes a catch up spot for meals. read more

It had been years since I've last visited this First Watch location in the heart of Downtown Indy. They're located just a block from Monument Circle and close to the capital building. Based on rereading my first experience, it wasn't all that memorable but I feel like First Watch has come along way with their menu and especially in their healthy and seasonal offerings. Time for an upgrade! I've become quite the sucker for their kale tonic drink, paired with the egg white turkey and spinach mushroom wrap for breakfast. Both are relatively low in calories and boast more nutrients than your average restaurant breakfast. I appreciate that their juice doesn't have any added sugar or ingredients like you'll see some other "juices". The staff was very friendly and accommodating of our crew that featured for adults and three children below the age of three. Their bathroom also featured changing table for babies. I was impressed by how quickly they were turning tables despite it being a bustling Sunday morning during our visit. Their menu is fairly broad (without being overwhelming) and you can find something for everyone in your group-from lemon ricotta pancakes and Florida inspired French toast topped with fresh fruit to vegetable hash, and breakfast tacos. I have been to two other first watch restaurants, one in Avon, Indiana and one in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is my third place of first watch in downtown Indianapolis and let me just say this was also an amazing experience. Overall, I have had only good experiences with first watch but this place just overdid everything. Their menu selection was amazing. They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. They are located right on the North Illinois Street so parking is a little challenging. If you are used to knowing your way around downtowns and parking on the streets with parking meters or you know having a bike then yes this is a great stop. If not, you will have to plan to go to this place so make sure you plan ahead for your parking. Their service was impeccable. Unfortunately, we had an order that was not accurately to what we asked for and the person who was serving us. They were tremendously helpful and they made it right and they gave us $5 off on top of their impeccable service. They're ambience inside was amazing. They also have a little spot to sit outside in front of the restaurant which is where we sat and enjoyed our lunch. They have this awesome list of drinks that are non-alcoholic and one of the ones that I was tempted to get was this purple haze as you can see in my picture it's it. Just was amazing to drink and to look at. This is a definitely try place. They are family friendly and business casual. They are noisy and definitely try. read more

Despite all the events in town we were able to get meter parking right down the street from the restaurant. Upon entering we were quoted a 20min wait time however it was maybe a 5 min wait. The hostess was very sweet. Our server was nice and fairly attentive. I ordered the summer drink watermelon wake-up and it had a great balance between watermelon and mint. For my meal I had the elevated breakfast sandwich. It was delicious. The bacon was crispy and there was a lot of guacamole on it which made it even better. The bun was toasted to perfection. The side of potatoes were a nice addition as well My hubby ordered the morning meditation drink and it's really good however if you dislike turmeric this drink isn't for you. For food he got the special which was the lone star brisket hash. It was really good the sauce was a little spicy and creamy which complimented the meal quite nicely. The only negative was the tortillas weren't edible they were over cooked. He also ordered the tres leches French toast for us to share as it doesn't come with any side or meat. The strawberries and whipped topping was really good however I thought the bread was chewy. He enjoyed it except there wasn't any Carmel or tres leche sauce. This is a cozy little cafe/diner located in the heart of the Indianapolis CBD. There is metered street on the street in front of the restaurant and there is also garage parking within a reasonable waling distance. The restaurant is clean and touts itself as a farm to table establishment. They have a nice sized dining area with tables and booths. They serve brunch food with and exotic flare. The food here is a bit on the pricer side and the staff was very nice. I ordered their new Tangerine Dream juice, an order of million dollar bacon, french toast, and seasoned potatoes. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. It was ok. The potatoes were a bit too salty, the bacon was ok (I would call it $500,000 bacon), but I have had much better. The French toast was pretty good. The fruit that was on top of it was pretty fresh and really set the toast off. The juice was tasty, but went very quick. My experience here was good. The food could have been a bit better, but it just may have been an off day. I am not against eating here again, but I would definitely try something different if I did. read more

As always, their pancakes are massive and so good. I love getting the carrot cake & pecan pancake. ALSO: their seasonal latte flavor, Carmel Honey Crunch is AMAZING. It was the perfect amount of sweetness. They sprinkled Reese's crumbles on top of the cold foam which was genius. So much flavor with each sip. Stopped by for breakfast yesterday for our first time. I ordered a skillet and wife ordered biscuits and gravy. The food was good but the prices were a little off in my opinion. Example. Wife: received 1 biscuit and gravy for 10.45 Me: Big Bear skillet (eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, potatoes, gravy) a biscuit, and a nice size serving of fresh fruit 11.95. When ordered I assumed the biscuit and gravy came with 2 biscuits (yes I read biscuit) but assumed for price and compared to what we get from other places that this was more than one. The biscuits were very dense but really good. They were not a soft fluffy biscuit that one would expect. They had a nice buttery taste and you could see all the layers inside. Stopped in for a work breakfast with some colleagues. This was my first visit, but the others were familiar with the restaurant. I got the vegetable and goat cheese omlette, and my colleague got the quinoa bowl. The salad was already seasoned, which was nice, but I couldn't identify the dressing. The omlette was good, though it felt like the goat cheese was only on one side of the omlette. Overall, it is conveniently located close to work, and the food and service were good.
