The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Not gonna lie, my work group really likes coming here when we have lunch outings. My only problem?…read moreI very much dislike seafood to any capacity. Yet, I still eat here just fine. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.

You either get a really big order that you can't finish and doesn't reheat well, or it's just greasy. Not the case here! I ordered the small order, and it was PERFECT. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Chips were great too! Slightly bigger, and definitely better than the old school Wendy's fries as far as how the potatoes are cut. Lots of flavor! I usually want my fish and chips with malt vinegar. I didn't ask, they didn't offer --and I didn't need it. The lemon wedge it was served with was just the right acidity. Tartar sauce also excellent! I will be back. They also appear to have a tea room, and I am intrigued.

This was our first time at Max & Tilly's:…read more Food: The fish & chips were fantastic. Maybe the best I've had in this area, and I've had them all. The fish itself was very fresh, with just the right amount of breading. Service: This is a counter-service type of restaurant, so service was fine for that type of setting. Orders are brought out to your table after ordering, on an aluminum tray. Ambiance: It's nicely decorated and everything is still brand new, but there were two things that could easily be improved: a) Considering the relatively high prices of everything, I would expect real fountain soft drinks with free refills, but instead, you get a can of soda and a glass of ice. ?!?!?!? The canned soda with no refills is inconsistent with the otherwise higher-end nature of this restaurant. Canned Coke is what I expect when I ask for a beverage at a food truck or when I'm at a carnival, not after I just dropped upwards of $30 for fish & chips and cole slaw. b) We arrived right at noon, with only one other customer there, and yet we were told that all soups were already "sold out". Not believable. It sounds more like someone forgot to order more soup ingredients, and/or they just didn't have anything heated-up.

The restaurant was a lot more kitschy than I was expecting, which I loved. Our waitress had a wonderful energy. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. The menu had several unique items. I ordered a Scottish soda called IRN BRU. I love trying food and drinks from around the world. It tasted like an Orange Crush soda. Our waitress said they were known for their Cauliflower soup. It was cold outside so soup sounded perfect. I also got a pepper jack grilled cheese. The soup came in a huge bowl. The combo of the soup and grilled cheese was very filling. My friends ordered the sticky pudding. I had a bite and it was delicious. I cant believe it's taken me so long to eat here. I throughly enjoyed it and cant wait for my next road trip.

In fact it is my favorite restaurant of all time. Sunday we stopped again. I had the British chicken curry and the fatoush. It was amazing as usual. That fatoush is so refreshing! My wife had the pork chop which comes with these amazing mashed potatoes with mustard seasoning that will blow your mind. She can never finish because it's so much food, which is OK with me because I help her out some. My favorite way to eat this is to mix a little mashed potato, mustard and pork chop together into one delicious bite. We were too full for dessert, but the times that we had the dessert here were spectacular as well. Thank you to all the people that work at Paynes, please don't change anything, you are the best!

As you can probably guess, Gals Fresh Fish & More focuses on serving up fresh fish in a food truck setting. I had lunch fairly early in today's Statehouse Market. The food trucks were ready to go. Gals is set in more of a trailer and is noted as being an extension of her father's Celina, Tennessee restaurant. The menu today was fairly simple with a handful of combo options. I opted for a $17 combo that included a 7-ounce fish filet, fries, a slice of bread, and cole slaw. I waited less than five minutes and the meal was ready in a styrofoam container with utensils provided. Service was friendly and helpful. Overall, this was a solid 4-star experience for me. The fish was wonderfully cooked and quite tasty. The fries were a little bit on the light side, however, they were also quite enjoyable. The cole slaw was fine. The bread was pretty straightforward. This was a nice change of pace for me. I typically go for burger, BBQ, or pizza with food trucks. I enjoyed this meal and would enjoy it again, though I'm not sure I'd go completely out of the way for it. It does look like Gals periodically changes up the menu and I'd be anxious to try other items. For those who like fresh fish, Gals is definitely a food truck to visit.

Chef Mike was running the whole show (it seemed to be that way) and he is effective! He took our orders, made the food and checked in on us often. I love how fresh everything is! It's a bit pricey but well worth it!! I had the crab egg rolls which were absolutely sensational. The sweet chile dipping sauce paired perfectly. I would fight parking just for these!! I also had a pan seared grouper sandwich that was yummy. My friend had the chowder and said it was well seasoned and delicious. We loved it!! A few oysters for a huge roll was disappointing. Otherwise, cute little spot. A few bar stools with seating outside. The owner seemed kind and the chef seemed passionate. They were teaching someone, so I was patient. The egg rolls. The egg rolls. The egg rolls. Okay bye.
