I recently tried Slap's Fish Market and sampled a little bit of everything--lobster roll, burrito,…read morecheesecake, and their lobster deviled eggs--and overall it was a really memorable experience. The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Not gonna lie, my work group really likes coming here when we have lunch outings. My only problem?…read moreI very much dislike seafood to any capacity. Yet, I still eat here just fine. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.

This was our first time at Max & Tilly's:…read more Food: The fish & chips were fantastic. Maybe the best I've had in this area, and I've had them all. The fish itself was very fresh, with just the right amount of breading. Service: This is a counter-service type of restaurant, so service was fine for that type of setting. Orders are brought out to your table after ordering, on an aluminum tray. Ambiance: It's nicely decorated and everything is still brand new, but there were two things that could easily be improved: a) Considering the relatively high prices of everything, I would expect real fountain soft drinks with free refills, but instead, you get a can of soda and a glass of ice. ?!?!?!? The canned soda with no refills is inconsistent with the otherwise higher-end nature of this restaurant. Canned Coke is what I expect when I ask for a beverage at a food truck or when I'm at a carnival, not after I just dropped upwards of $30 for fish & chips and cole slaw. b) We arrived right at noon, with only one other customer there, and yet we were told that all soups were already "sold out". Not believable. It sounds more like someone forgot to order more soup ingredients, and/or they just didn't have anything heated-up.

I decided to order a glass of wine and have a scone as I waited for my friend to arrive. The staff…read morethat waited on me were very friendly and accommodating. The lemon curd that came with the scone was delicious. I was sad when the scone was gone and I still had a lot of curd leftover. For dinner, I ordered a small order of the fish and chips. It came with a large piece of fish and plenty of fries. I thought the fish had the perfect amount of breading. It wasn't overly greasy. I had also ordered hot tea. In true British fashion it was served with milk and sugar. The hot tea was very soothing and was a perfect addition to the meal. Overall, was very pleased with everything that I had. And am excited to come back for an afternoon tea experience.

The restaurant was a lot more kitschy than I was expecting, which I loved. Our waitress had a wonderful energy. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. The menu had several unique items. I ordered a Scottish soda called IRN BRU. I love trying food and drinks from around the world. It tasted like an Orange Crush soda. Our waitress said they were known for their Cauliflower soup. It was cold outside so soup sounded perfect. I also got a pepper jack grilled cheese. The soup came in a huge bowl. The combo of the soup and grilled cheese was very filling. My friends ordered the sticky pudding. I had a bite and it was delicious. I cant believe it's taken me so long to eat here. I throughly enjoyed it and cant wait for my next road trip.

It's a few minutes off the highway, but certainly doesn't feel like you're in Gas City, IN. It looks like they added on an outdoor space recently. Nothing too extravagant, but nice enough for lunch. A nice younger man took care of us on the patio. The menu was quite eclectic and unique. The tortilla chips and cold bean dip was a great way to start. Both our soups were fantastic....cheddar cheese for one and leek soup the other. Fish and chips hit the spot and apparently a fan favorite. My wife had the club sandwich of GF bread. Great little local spot if you're ever in the area.
