    Falafel

While traveling back from Memphis to Michigan, we had a planned stopped in Bloomington, IN, to break up the trip. We stayed downtown near the IU campus, but we were looking for a little more upscale, locally sourced restaurant for dinner. After some research we found C3 Bar which looked interesting. It was a short Uber ride ( about 8-10 minutes) from our Hotel. It's off campus, nestled in a condo/community with other upscale shops. The decor inside was dark, but warm, with a nice buzz. We were lucky enough to score two seats at the bar, which is our preference. We were greeted by Nick, the bartender, very friendly. After ordering our cocktails, which were very well made by the way we narrowed down our dinner options. The Falafel: Chickpea pea Falafel, Roasted Sweet Potato-Sesame Purée, Za'atar Roasted Cauliflower, Sautéed Spinach Toasted Pistachios, Valbreso Feta, Zhaug. The dish was absolutely amazing, so may fresh flavors that combined so well. We also ordered the Muhamarra; Syrian Roasted Red Pepper-Walnut Spread, Pomegranate Molasses, EVOO, and served with toasted flatbread. This dish was also amazing with great flavors. Both of these would be something we would order again. Everything on their menu is locally sourced and fresh. Definitely worth checking out if your in Bloomington. The service and food were great.

We absolutely LOVE C3 - their food and service are ALWAYS amazing. We go when we can to celebrate a special occasion or just to have a yummy drink. Tuesday night is the best as they have drink specials Just one of our favorite places in Bloomington overall.

Outstanding restaurant in Bloomington! We have been several times and have always had great service and DELICIOUS food/drinks. Ask about the deviled eggs, they do a different kind each week. They are a delightful Journey of taste and imagination. You cannot go wrong with C3, their menu is small but everything is SO good, it's hard to chose!

C3 is probably one of my fav spots for a REAL cocktail in Bloomington. They have the cutest little patio, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Not pictured - the bread we started with. It came with a homemade compound butter and it is SO GOOD. I had the sliders and my husband had the burger. Everything had incredible flavor, was perfectly cooked, and came out in a short time! We also shared the strawberry shortcake for dessert but that didn't make it to the photo. :) Perfect spot!

I started my new year by saying I would visit one new restaurant each month. I can finally say that I have accomplished that goal ! C3 was our December restaurant pick. We made reservations on our 3 year anniversary that ended up being cancelled because the restaurant was closed. No worries, we just moved our reservation to the next day. When we got there, the manager apologized for the cancellation and comped our drinks. My partner accidentally ordered the wrong drink. Our server tried to replace it, but my partner wouldn't allow it. He said the drink he received was fine. I had ordered an espresso martini and it was delicious, albeit a tiny bit strong. We decided to skip appetizers and go straight for the mains. I ordered the gnudi, something I had never had before. The pieces of pasta were made with cheese unlike gnocchi which is made with potato. It was absolutely delightful - and all of the veggies in the dish were cooked to perfection. I could have honestly eaten a second serving, it was that good ! I loved the sauce in it especially. My partner had to try their cheeseburger and declared it the best burger in Bloomington. After we were done eating, we went ahead and ordered the caramel apple bread pudding. My parent was super impressed with it, but I thought it was a pretty typical bread pudding. Which didn't make it bad, it was delicious ! The manager had comped our dessert, as well, since we were celebrating our anniversary. Overall... If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would ! The only con I can think of was how dim the lights were. But the quality service and food more than made up for it.

This place has become one of my new favorites in Bloomington. Be sure and ask about the deviled eggs each week always a new flavor. They have bread on the menu with a new flavor of butter to go with it each week. My favorite cocktail is the primavera. This place is a must try!!

I often come in here & split the night with Truffles Fine Dining nearby. I've met several other regulars that do the same. Ironically I believe the head chefs trained together so it seems appropriate. There are things I like better at both restaurants but they're both in the same vein and close together. I usually check the specials online and whichever ones I like better I start at the other bar And get a drink and then eat specials at the place I prefer. C3 has a little less parking and the neighborhood is tricky. I've got lost in here several times. It's right next-door to a great coffee shop. They do have a lovely patio. Their bar program is stellar and creative and changes often. My main complaint is how dim it is in here as I don't have great night vision and it's been hard to see the menu etc. when I come in with my for dinner. The service has always been very professional, and the bartenders are very knowledgeable about the drinks. I should probably give them 10 more stars because one time when I was eating with my six-year-old on the patio, and I accidentally lost my purse, the server made sure I got it back the next day. Many kuddos!!! My favorite food to get here are the soups and the vegan and vegetarian options.

I've been twice now and both were amazing experiences. Most recently have been during Tiki week and the drinks were phenomenal. Super high quality and great flavors. The food menu is just as good. I recommend getting whatever the chef special is that night!

Pretty impressed! Decided to come here for Saturday lunch with my family and made a reservation…read moreonline at the last minute, but we would have been able to get in without. Without the patio open though, I can see it filling up easily. The atmosphere is fun (board games!) and bright but somewhat industrial with the distillery next door. The staff was friendly and very enthusiastic but just a little overbearing for me. The samples they brought around of two of their spirits (a gin and amaro) were very good and much appreciated. As appealing as the cocktails sounded, I didn't feel like drinking, so I got the Last Call mocktail. I couldn't pick up much 5 spice, but it was still a pleasant and refreshing light drink. I had a sip of my parents' old fashioned and Smokin' in the Girls' Room, and those were both really good - I was really into the lapsang souchong tea-infused rum in the Smokin' in the Girls' Room and would've ordered it for myself if I'd been drinking. To eat, I had a mushroom melt (the veganized version with vegan cheese) with the OMG fries. I really liked the sandwich; I loved the giardiniera and the jus, and you usually can't get that sort of thing in a vegetarian or vegan sandwich, so I was really happy to have it here and thought it was done well. The OMG fries were also really good. I don't like fries if they're plain, but these were heavily seasoned with a delicious spice blend. The vegan version of the fries omits the truffle aioli that they normally come with, but they were plenty flavorful with just ketchup. We shared a Thai tea creme brulee for dessert. I am crazy about Thai tea so I expected to like this, and it was everything I hoped for. The tea flavour was nice and strong, and the tapioca pearls were a nice little enhancement. They do an auto-gratuity of 20% no matter the party size, which I'm not completely opposed to, but I think if you're doing that you at least need to have a note on the menu rather than have the waiter tell you as they're giving you the bill, or better (in my opinion) to just raise the prices by 20% and sell yourself as a no-tipping restaurant. But it wasn't a huge deal in this situation; our waitress was good and we would've left a good tip anyway.

I absolutely loved this place! I went with my best friend and we got the meatballs, deviled eggs,…read moreOMG fries, crème brûlée, steak sandwich and chicken piccata. I've enjoyed food, beverages, and a tour of the distillery at Cardinal Spirits before, so I jumped at the chance to sign up for the event. The bar/dining area served as the spot for Fuzzy Zoeller, Champion Pro Golfer, to speak about his line of Ultra Premium Vodka. He highlighted a few special moments in the history of his business and seemed excited to be bringing the production of the high end vodka to Indiana. He also introduced State Senator Ron Alting, a long time friend, who had worked with Fuzzy over the years to help bring opportunities to be involved around the state. After the introduction and chats, guests were treated to a free cocktail made with the vodka. I ordered a "Fuzzy's Mule" which adds lime and ginger beer to the spirit. Excellent! The fine folks at Cardinal Spirits also provided an assortment of delicious foods for us to snack on. There were meatballs, vegan sliders, Italian green salad, caprese skewers, and Deviled eggs with truffle oil. I need to make a point to bring friends here for dinner! I enjoyed the opportunity to attend the event and hope that the transition of production to Cardinal Spirits will go smoothly bringing the same high quality product but using Hoosier corn, and talent. Thanks to Fuzzy's, to Cardinal Spirits for hosting, and to Yelp for the opportunity to attend. Review #3346
