A good experience, I'm not an IU guy or even someone who spends a lot of time in Bloomington but it's a great area. This place reminds me of Brothers without the rizz. That being said, service was good for a lunch hour. Wings were just ok, I ordered Big Red because I wanted to challenge myself to something with heat. This was incredibly mild which wasn't great considering the wings themselves didn't taste very great. Freezer burn kind of taste, it's pretty common at these sorts of places so usually sauce helps. Day trip to Bloomington with the fam, and we grabbed lunch at Yogi's. I'll admit I was uncertain how it would be - new location- but we were not disappointed. The loaded tot app was delicious, and the chicken strips remain delicious. My son and husband shared a pizza which was really thin and flavorful. As an alum, and former trainer at Scotty's Brewhouse, it was so cool to go to Yogi's in the same spot. They have really decked the place out in full blown IU festive fun. I loved the ambiance. We were a big group! Six of us. Some of the highlights were the chicken Caesar wrap. It seems basic, but it was delicious. Wraps come with chips and salsa, the chips need more salt, great news that they had sea salt grinders on the table. The salsa was good. The chicken and waffles got great reviews, you add your own amount of syrup and hot honey, good move Yogi's! That came with Cole slaw, it was creamy and very good. The cool ranch Doritos burger got a great review as well. A couple people had tenders, they were good. The four stars come from speed of service and attentiveness. We were waiting for awhile for our food to get ordered, the beers to get delivered and the food. Also, the pickle chips are more breading than pickle. The pickles should be cut thicker. The spicy ranch was very good though. Our server was nice, accommodating and got the order 100% accurate without writing it down. Good for her. The bar area and drinks are actually OK. It's the food that is lacking. The chicken velvet soup was so thick that it was like paste. They must make a big pot in the morning and it just sits on a warmer all day and night (I was here around 8 PM). I also ordered the pepperoni-stuffed breadsticks with pizza sauce for dipping. I visited Bloomington a few weeks ago and had the pleasure of eating at Yogi's. It's a sports bar, very casual atmosphere. We had pizza sticks, smash burgers, chicken tenders abs fries. You get alot of food. They give you a choice of tater tots or seasoned waffle fries with your entrees. The chicken strips are so tender and juicy. The burgers were messy and so delicious. Our waitress was very warm and hospitable. She made several recommendations and she was right about all of them. Why am I going to a place to make my own sandwich? Used to love going here, but the last two times the service had been so terrible. So I'm not really into bar food. Not really into fried food, either. BUT -- I went to Yogi's for a nostalgic fix and was not disappointed. Years ago I learned that Yogi's had the best chicken tenders I had ever had. They closed and reopened at the new location and I was skeptical. I can look at chicken tenders and know if they are the flat super breaded kind I am not interested. These are lightly hand-breaded, SUPER juicy and the blue cheese at Yogi's is full of chunks of cheese. All of the workers sat at the bar socializing with each other loudly complaining about being scheduled tonight. Oh I was so happy to see Yogis back. Same name, some of the same menu, but most else is different. I was a frequent patron of the now haunted 10th Street location. Not in the "I come here for IU games" frequent, but in I would come once a week and try to convince others to come even though they didn't want to. And could you blame them? It was gross. There was a layer of grime on everything, there were always fruit flies (even in the winter), you had to know the meatloaf rotation before you risked ordering it, and god help you if you ordered the shrimp. Just a weird place; one where people just kind of worked there but no one was really managing it. I always sat at the bar because the service was otherwise atrocious. They would hire 19yo girls based on looks, not train them, then they would quit in a few weeks and you would never see the same ones. Anyway, that's all memory lane. What about Yogis 2.0 as it were... Obviously the place is nicer. Scottys was, if anything, always clean. Yogis also feels clean. The menu is better; more focused. I lost my meatloaf, but the random "specials" that you would never want to risk are gone. Beer list is fine. I don't know that it will ever get much better than the old Yogis, and even getting close would probably make them lose money like old Yogis. Atmosphere is more fun. Service is great. I had a tenderloin. They put brown mustard on it and I love that. Upland started putting a "stone ground aioli" on theirs and it now tastes like dog shit. Is it a new thing to put mustard on a tenderloin? Because I used to have to put it on myself and I am convinced I unwittingly started a local trend. They have some solid cocktail stuff too, like legit fresh berries (not frozen), fresh mint, etc. Frozen drinks for the kids too. I was told to try the pina colada, the taste of which I would liken to draining the balls of one of those big cans of pineapple. Who knows if there's rum in there or not; I couldn't tell. But not to disparage the place. This was super fun for me. After moving, I missed Yogis. I was sad when it closed. Yeah it's not Nick's, but there's still history there and I am glad someone else thinks so and kept it alive. read more

We ventured on a cloudy afternoon to try out one of the restaurants participating in Deviur Bloomington. Although it is downtown, you will find a parking garage nearby. When we were seated, a delightful waitress came to serve us. She only had one menu for the Devour Bloomington specials. Yet the choices were delectable. We received an appetizer. two entrees and a dessert from the menu for one price. The diet cokes were extra. We devoured the cheese curds and the cheese cake. Notice the cheese theme. Tried to eat lunch at Yogi's last Friday. Was told it would be a ten-minute wait for our party of four. At one point, the hostess grabbed menus and led us back to what she thought was an open table, it wasn't, so she marched us back to the front of the house to wait some more. The waiting area is not very big and ten minutes turned to fifteen minutes and at that point we couldn't wait any longer. From what I saw from our time waiting, the new Yogi's is a lot like the Tap (one of the other bar/restaurants owned by this same group) with high stools, tv sets, and loud music. So my son who had eaten there with a friend wanted to get carry out with a burger he had at the time. I submitted and chose the "hail Caesar" wrap with the buffalo chips as a side. The wrap while good portioned just didn't have much Caesar dressing and this much taste. The worst part is there were a few small chicken parts like tendons that could not be chewed. I've been anticipating the return of Yogi's Bar & Grill under the new ownership and was not disappointed with my opening day experience during lunch! I opted for the Chicken Parmesan wrap with buffalo chips because they were two of my favorite items at the original location and not only were they as good as I remembered but even better! If you like ranch order some with your buffalo chips as a pro tip! My co-worker ordered the tenderloin which was on special for Monday and said it was great! The service was great and the new staff was friendly and knowledgeable with the menu items. Finney Hospital Group (the new ownership) did a great job of truly preserving all of the things people loved about Yogi's while bringing their own modern spin and a few new menu items. Almost everything on the menu ends in $0.92 as a nod to the original establishment opening in 1992 as another fun tie in to the history. The decor is a great touch of all things Bloomington and IU with an artistic flair of murals from a talented local artist. The restaurant is family friendly and the menu is a competitive price point that won't hurt the wallet with great lunch and drink specials every day. I can't wait to come back to Yogi's and am definitely looking forward to the IU game day experience there as well as the expansion in a few months which will include a 21+ area. read more

A friend of mine had told me about this place and had sent me pictures of when he went there. This restaurant took over the old Scotty's Brew house and boy did they make the place look exceptional. I could write a long review about the place itself but the details will be in the pictures and you will love them. As for the food, it was absolutely top notch and pretty quick service to get it. Ordered the fry sampler (great) with sauces as an appetizer, the chicken tender salad and the rib/mac&cheese sandwich. The fry sample was good. All of the sauces have a level of spice. The salad was fine. It was mostly romaine with the tenders. We went on a Friday night and it was busy, but that was to be expected. We also split a pitcher of beer. Overall, it was a fine experience. The tenders match up to the old Yogi's, and the house ranch was good. The space is very loud. Service (host or guy in charge of talking to people past 11:00 pm - skinny dude with a silver chain) was solely to blame. Here is a summary: - left us to wait at the door for 10+ minutes in a nearly empty restaurant that was fully staffed - was upset friend used bathroom after 10 minutes of waiting - told us "people" couldn't read - got upset Foreign friends had alternate ID (Passport and FOID) - Further escalated things when I asked him why he was giving us a hard time It was a seat yourself and no one came for 10+ minutes when the place had maybe 3 of 20+ tables occupied. Got fed up because we had to use the bathroom and did. On our way back to the front to hopefully get seated we get confronted about not waiting by the host, we explained the situation, he still says "people just can't read," - not a great start. We have to wait another 5 minutes while he chats to a group of girls. He finally arrives and asks for our ID's... My friend one friend has a passport (valid ID obviously) has a FOID card (also valid ID that has also been accepted at other bars) and thinks it's problematic and lectures his wallet construction and how he should never give people this card. He continues pestering my friend and I interject "why are you being an A hole,", he gets combative, I tell him we are paying customers and that there are options and ask why he is treating us this way, he tells us to leave, notes that "it doesn't matter" if we do, and we leave. I'm writing a review just to say that whoever the guy is should not be customer facing and the manager (or guy I think is the manager because he had the only Yogi's polo) did nothing to rectify the situation read more
